So. After watching the new ep last night, I kept trying to figure out who the episode title was referring to. Because it's the spies, plural. And we only saw one known spy, at the very beginning.

And then I realized that it's the new Mandalorians. The ones on the mad-max viking ship or whatever. Because while they lead them all to the Forge like they said they would, that's where the ambush happened, where they were funneled into a trap. Gideon knew to find them there, specifically. And. Most telling, they sent up a BUNCH of their "sick" with the armor up to Bo's fleet. Also, Gideon has his own Beskar armor and his entire squadron or whatever has Beskar armor too. They had to have gotten that much Beskar from somewhere.

Bo and co are going to be getting out of the caverns and counting on being able to get back to the ships or the armorer coming back to pick them up.... But they're gonna be too busy dealing with a trojan horse style ambush to be able to assist.

This might be something that only bothers me and a small niche of people, but everytime anything happens in the mandalorian, we are told not shown, or we are told a hundred times.

like, they tell us everything that is happening:

“i hope these two groups get along, they never met, and what little they know of each other, they hate.” (bo katan dialogue from ch. 23)

we already know this, why are you spoon feeding us this information. we’ve been told and shown that the 2 groups dont get along. stop telling us.

My thoughts on this week’s episode of Mando:

I’m actually writing this bit right here 2 hours before the episode is even out bUT I had to share my idea of, with Din and Bo Katan not getting along very well currently, I would LOVE if they fought (maybe in this episode or the next one?) and Din ended up winning back the Darksaber??? And if it was in front of a bunch of other Mandos and they immediately accept him as Manda’lor unlike how they are with Bo Katan???? I’d scream I really hope that this is where the show is going and if it’s not y’all can bet your asses that I will write fix-it canon divergent fanfic for this concept

It’s episode time I am begging this episode to be good or have Din take off his helmet or Something worth my fucking time

Once again begging the show to do something interesting with the plot and have Din and Bo Katan fight or have Bo Katan lose the saber or Something just to make it fun

Oh god dammit are you seriously making me go back to episode 3 levels of shit?? I hated that plot I just want Din this is bullshit

I hate that. Grogu was the best part I literally don’t remember anything better happening I’m so fucking disappointed

I’m thankful that they aren’t forcing a romance on us (so far) and it’s not Awful and I’m excited for the almost definitely whole episode helmetless babygirlified Din next week but Jesus Christ that was just. It was awful it was bad

I give it like a 5/10 because it was fine with some good scenes but just. It was bad. I fucking hate this episode and i can’t even explain why like I could previously it just,,, idk it’s bad I don’t like it

Y’all can expect me promoting some fanfiction sometime soon because I’m gonna start a fix-it rewrite starting from episode 6 of TBoBF and reshape the end of that and this season into what I genuinely think would be better

And if you love this season good for you, seriously! I wish I could, but with the foreshadowing from last season and especially the last 2-3 episodes? You can’t even compare them and season 2 was a step down from season 1 it’s just… it’s not comparable and I’m really upset about it

My point still stands about the whole “if the season finale doesn’t get better I won’t come back for season 4” btw I just can’t handle the disappointment over and over again. But if tumblr shows me some really good shit then I might come back for a couple episodes

Overall I’m just disappointed and I really wish that they had writers that genuinely care about the story they were setting up instead of caring about setting up spin offs and selling merchandise but what can I really expect from Disney?

Chapter 23 was a relievingly great episode again

Spoilers ahead

IG-12 as Grogu’s mecha is hilarious and him immediately annoying the living shit out of Din was the best thing so far this entire season

Din getting captured by Moff Gideon was heartbreaking and I’ll be a nervous wreck until next week

If they forcibly remove his helmet, will he be an apostate again and will need to bathe in the waters again? (Could potentially lead to him riding the mythosaur)

You know this episode seemed to remember that Din exists and that’s all I wanted. I am okay with co-leads Din and Bo-Katan, the last episodes just really seemed to make an effort to ignore him

So Bo-Katan’s plan to retake Mandalore failed spectacularly (again) -so far-Eventhough I don’t like the direction the season has taken, I actually do like her as a character and I feel sorry for her, I can’t help wonder if she still will be able to lead the Mandalorians after this:

Whether or not ep. 24 will lead to the defeat of Moff Gideon, this mission just seriously endangered/lost the 3 most important figures to the Nevarro covert: Din, the Armorer and Vizla and lead to the deaths of others - this will either spark conflict within the surviving Mandalorians and could consequently lead to distrust in Bo-Katans leadership OR it could shatter Bo-Katan’s confidence in her ability to lead

Sooooooo I watched The Mandalorian Chapter 23, meaning that I only have 1 episode left in this third season and well... Imperial Praetorian Guards ?????? Meeeeeeh noooo just nooooo. Why can't life be easy? Paz being murdered? Djarin being kidnapped?

I really really liked the scene where Grogu separates Paz and Axe tho. It's just there is something in this episode that bothers me but I don't know what

Let's see what's this chapter 24 has to offer. My Grogu plushie and I will watch it with attention.

Alright, could someone please explain this one to me:

How the hell did every Mandalorian forget about Bo-Katan's Death Watch days?

During that dinner scene in chapter 23, one of the rogue mandalorians asks the Armorer about her tribe's ties to the Death Watch, visibly suspicious of the CotW, while Bo-Katan Kryze of all people is sitting right next to him. Yet they all just... idolize her? Not a single grudge or wariness? Is there really that many plot holes in this bloody season???

Also the Children always rejected the new Mandalorian ways and government, so why would they accept a literal member of the royal family among their ranks to begin with
