Bea I've been thinking about it actually, the neighborhood here is so very nice and I'm already accomodating to new estate.. Not gonna lie, thinking about permanent move is getting more sweet day by day. summer house on twitter can stay I guess, it's nice to visit once in a while, but definitely not now when snow is approaching

While I still don't know/love the platform as much, I think I have finally been convinced to move all my stories over to ao3. I felt really loyal to ff.net as it's where I got my start (and I LOVE the way they show stats) but even I must admit the site is falling apart.
I started the process a long time ago but I think I'll actually try to get more serious about putting things up on ao3. Of course that means rereading and editing everything so if anyone wants to beta or just get a look behind the curtain before it all changes hmu!

The cats arrived safely at Slaughterhouse House. They have been here before, but this time it’s permanent. No more long car trips.

kitchen now at 3/4ths, we're not so much packing as cleaning/throwing things out/deciding what to keep, mostly because we as of yet have no place to keep all the boxes once we do pack. But we have a 'box of pans and stuff' we don't use often but want to keep, and stuff like that that will get properly packed after the realtor comes through on tuesday.
I think the rest of our spoons for today will go to dishes that can't go into the little portable dishwasher (couple big plates, big pot, etc) we picked up on a payment plan back before everything suddenly went tits up, then we'll run the rest in that washer.
tomorrow I plan on packing up everything around my desk that isn't necessary for work/play, so most of my decorations. I also need to finish fixing steph's PC which I think should be part of that task as we clean up her desk., since this is all part of the 'get the living room in order' task for tomorrow.
Monday is mostly going to be recovery lol
for now though, dinner, and then we'll see if we have the energy to actually tackle more.
it's distressing how much work this is for what isn't really all that much stuff.

"all men are evil" is radfem/terf rhetoric, but clarifying "all cis men" because you want to signal that you're not transphobic doesn't work because it's still deeply rooted in radfem beliefs. It's saying you believe there's something inherently evil in being born/assigned "male", and you carry it over in how you treat ppl who transition in or out of that gender. "All cis men are evil", is gender essentialist and you can't get around that.

Despite what most people would think, Danny was an excellent driver. It took a lot of hard work and extra classes, but he is by far the safest driver of the family. So safe in fact that others often make fun of him for it.
'You'll get there eventually with Grandma driving!' 'It's like going even a fraction over the speed limit is gonna give you a heart attack or something'
It was fine. Danny was proud about being a safe driver. It's what he worked for! His family already contributed to enough property damage.
Driving in Gotham was a very different experience from driving in Amity. His new friends made fun of him even more now.
It was one of these playful ribs that he shot out his favorite reply (one he hadn't gotten the chance to use since moving).
"Well, you know what they say; you should only do one illegal thing at a time!" Danny thought he was hilarious (as his species was still technically illegal), the Batkid (you decide) overanalyzed (as usual).

There was a teen in the cave.
A teen no one knows and looks like he could be a wayne, stands in the cave.
"Actually, I'm a wayne." He says with a shrug.
Bruce, Batman, carefully thinks of the implication.
"Not yet," The teen, Danny, doesn't say anything. Simple smiles. "You're not a wayne, yet. You will be. But not yet."
Then Bruce sighs, dropping the batman mask in order to take in the teen.
"Does future me know of the time travel?"
Dannys smile grows into a grin, deciding to take pity on the man. "You, grandbat, have..." He makes a vague gesture. "Theories, which none of your children ever confirmed."
The bat's mind short-circuits at the choice of words
Dick is sputtering incomprehensibly, there are Baffled expression all around.
Because.
Because that child isn't Bruce's, but one of theirs.
"Who is it?" Jason demands, hand clenching his gun uselessly.
Danny continues to smile, a hint of mischief now peeking out.
The cave is filled with theories, some yell, some sob, yet all eyes leave danny.
All but one pair.
She had known the moment his body language switched just enough for her to read.
She had known the moment he disappeared before the clan.
Had known when his hand found hers, shoulders bumping.
Her heart clenches, throat dry and memories of her childhood flooding to mind.
So she asks, voice soft and hesitant.
"Am I a good mother?"
And danny looks up at cass, adoration and pride laid out plain for her to see and accept.
"You're the best."
And so they both watch the clan together, silent and comfortable.
(Cass doesn't question when she finds him, how and why. All she knows is that she's more attentive when out on patrol, looking and waiting.)
(This is how Cassandra Cain-Wayne returns one night from patrol, a child, barely out of toddler stage and clinging to her form.)
(This is how the Batclan officially meets one Daniel James Cain-Wayne, freshly washed and clothed, a cookie in hand and hiding shyly behind Cass.)
(When they meet, all they say is "Welcome home, danny," and "Good to see you again.", Danny doesn't necessarily get it, but that's okay. Maybe his new mom will explain it one day when he's bigger.)

I think Brennan did something interesting with the Porter and Gorgug scene in the last episode. Porter is by all appearances a competent Barbarian teacher. He understands the role of Rage and its mechanical combat benefits, and he even recognizes how Gorgug uses Rage to protect those he cares about. But he doesn't understand how multiclassing into a caster fits into that framework.
And it's true! In 5e you can't cast or concentrate on spells in a Rage. But-- Artificers work a little different than other casters! Alchemist Elixirs and Arcane Cannons aren't technically spells. Arcane Armor just works. And so does the Steel Defender.
Of any caster I think the Artificer is probably the best-suited to multiclass Barbarian because their key subclass features are largely not spells. But it also runs into the problem of requiring multiple high stats. Barbarians already want high STR and CON, and Artificers need INT for their spells and spell saves.
And so there's this narrative tension here. Brennan the DM obviously wants to let his player have fun with the character build-- embracing the creative artificer side of himself is a great character moment for Gorgug, bearer of the tin flower. Someone who has always channeled Rage to protect those he cares about but who has also been called to create and preserve beauty.
And yet mechanically, it's a difficult build. We didn't see Gorgug cast anything in the Night Yorb battle, as far as I recall? And in-universe, classes are a formally recognized thing that require approval. But Gorgug can't be the kind of Barbarian that Porter wants him to be. So he has to show that he can be a different kind of Barbarian-- one whose magic integrates and synergizes with his Rage rather than opposing it.
We see Gorgug still insecure about his homunculus and about the solar lasso, even though these are objectively impressive feats. So it's not a skill issue but an internal conflict-- it's only once Gorgug reconciles and synthesizes his magic with his Barbarian side that the in-world powers that be will recognize him for all of who he is.
