Taylor Swift fans had to pitch in to help pay Ana Benevides' family back for the loan they had to take out to transport her body back home to be buried. The fans did it. Not T4F (certainly the ones with a moral obligation to do it) and not the billionaire popstar herself, who, while not obligated, could have shown a little kindness.

I love Taylor's music as much as the next person but her fans are fucking unbearable. Some people in Brazil wanted to make a moment of silence due to Ana's passing right after champagne problems, when Taylor is usually applauded for a couple of minutes. And the comment section was FILLED with people saying like "nooo, that's a terrible ideia. Taylor's gonna be so sad, she's gonna think we hate her, you guys know how she tends to take everything personally 😭😭"

Foda-se???? A 23 year old girl died. A family lost her daughter, her friends who loved her will never see her again. She was studying psychology, she had an adorable cat who's probably still waiting for her to come home, she was part of an athletic association at her uni, and if you know anything about athletics you know how close those people are. She's not coming back. THIS IS NOT ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT. She didn't kill her and she's nowhere responsible for her death, but putting the focus on her like she's the only one grieving (or the one who's grieving the most) is fucked up.

How come her fans treat her like the most powerful woman on the planet and the INDUSTRY when everything's okay, and in moments like this she's back to being a defenseless 16 year old? Honestly, make sense, people. She's a 33 woman, if she has a problem in not knowing how to cope with her self loathing and thinks everybody hates her and can't separate professional from personal she needs fucking therapy. It's exhausting when you people try to baby her. She's a billionaire, for fucks sake. When the Manchester tragedy happened Ariana paid for all the funeral expenses of 22 people and made a whole festival to pay homage to them. Taylor posted a little note and didn't even contact the family, Ana's own father said that.

Just because she's a great artist it doesn't mean she's a great person. We love her because we can relate to the good and bad feelings she writes about, but that's all her career's been like for almost 20 years: making a spectacle out of every single thing that happens to her and never doing anything to change it or actually getting over it. Do you really wanna put yourself on the line for someone like that?

hi I'm a Brazilian swiftie and the situation right is not good, there "fans" talk about bad about Taylor, people outside the fandom talking bad about her, the company behind the show is just messing up and a lot of people are taking advantage of this situation to pour hate on Taylor. I just want to say that I waited so long for the show (and even though I'm not going) I'm glad Taylor came and is worrying about us (as always) and I hope she and all the real Swifts are okay and please don't use this situation to be xenophobic and racist. a girl passed away. this cannot be forgotten. I have been Taylor’s fan for almost 15 years, so I KNOW how compassionate and emphatic she is. this is the woman who recently called Ronan’s mother to ask permition to put the song that SHE wrote on her own album, because it was about Maya’s son. I KNOW SHE CARES! which is why it’s HEARTBREAKING that she’s staying silent about the death of her fan, Ana, a 23 yo beautiful girl, during her concert in Rio. one story saying she’s too sad to talk about it on stage is not enough! Ana’s close friends have said that it’s a lie that she contacted the family, as it was reported by US weekly. WHY?? I don’t understand it at all. Taylor has been steering her career for a while now, so it’s ultimately her decision to say nothing. WHY? sure, there are legal issues involved, I understand. legal issues would never forbid her from saying in a concert how sorry she is that Ana died or from talking to the family. SHE IS NOT TO BLAME, WE KNOW THIS! the fans don’t blame her for Ana’s death. we DO blame her for not saying anything during the concerts and not contacting the family, because that’s just so disrespectful. even if she would have to pay fines after breaking some legal rule by saying something, she’s a billionaire??? she can pay all the fines, she’s paid for fines that aren’t even hers over the years, money is not an issue, so WHY IS SHE SILENT?? I’m so disappointed. I love her, but this makes me so sad. if it’s a PR strategy, it’s a terrible one. she’s losing loyal fans over this. I don’t wanna be one of those fans. I wanna be able to keep saying how much she makes me proud. I’m not proud to be her fan right now. if you say this is me being a hater you need reading comprehension.

im just really disappointed with everything that has been happening. it’s just so frustrating to know that the situation would’ve been so different if it was in a global north country. it’s just so obvious! do the Latin people worth less???? im pretty sure her team is seeing everything people are saying about the situation online, including the fans being racist and xenophobic toward the Brazilian fans. the ones who are there deserve RESPECT!
