Love that tma is so traumatic constantly that we all gloss over the fact that Jon was kidnapped and forcibly moisturized while tied to a chair for a month.
Every time I think too hard about it it actually freaks me out. And Jon never talks about it again which also freaks me out

Yeah I think Tim Stoker's actions are completely and utterly reasonable because I would burn down the whole world if anything happened to my siblings send post

While Blitzo was paid to be Stolas' playmate and was manipulated by his sleazy father into being a thief, Stolas was genuinely happy to have a friend his own age in childhood, which probably saved his sanity from Paimon's less than competent parenting.
When Blitzo explains his dream of running his own circus business, Stolas is incredibly supportive, if somewhat amused at a circus having an office. When the prospect of Blitzo hiring him comes up later, Stolas says he hopes he'll qualify and that Blitzo will make a good boss. While the start of their playdate had Blitzo being bored and clearly not thinking much of Stolas, and even if it comes after Blitzo tricking Stolas in helping him rob the palace, by the end they are laughing together and happily discussing their futures with mutual interest.
During the anniversary party, Stolas was so desperate for emotional connection that, when he met Blitzo again, he convinced himself that the imp was sneaking into his room to seduce him. Blitzo, who hadn't seen him in 25 years and was only after the book, took advantage of this not realizing Stolas was after a genuine connection and leading to the collapse we saw in "OZZIE'S".
It also turns that Blitzo was planning on just tying up Stolas so he didn't see him steal the book...then changed his mind and decided to give Stolas a fun night after discovering just how empty Stolas' life was, looking genuinely guilty upon realizing what kind of emotional damage that abandoning someone in makeshift BDSM would do to him. Especially someone who, in that bondage, called Blitzo his “first ever friend”. "OZZIE'S" has made it very clear that Blitzo might put on a front for everyone else, but I.M.P is his attempt at creating a family "circus", and he doesn't actually have very many friends of his own, having pushed his old friends away years ago (Fizzarolli, Verosika and even kept Stolas at arm's length as a child), and continuing the pattern with Moxxie and Stolas.
Stolas and Blitzo's relationship seem to have been very much headed for doom from the beginning, and it's clear that both Blitzo and Stolas has never had a healthy and meaningful relationship with anyone except maybe Octavia for Stolas and M&M and Loona for Blitzo, and even those relationships are fraught. It probably isn't a coincidence that both Blitzo and Stolas seem to be trying to make up for their horrible fathers by being better father figures to the people in their care. Stolas has been so deprived of love and affection for his whole life, other than Octavia, that he has no idea how real, non-transactional relationships work even though he desperately wants one.
Blitzo's the same, though he's spent more time hiding that, which is understandable given that he's a trained clown that has to hide his emotions. Just like Stolas, Blitzo desperately craves intimacy and a relationship of his own, but he doesn't understand intimacy without some non-love motive behind it, and he pushes others away to the point of resentment because his upbringing/mistakes with relationships in the past have led him to see himself as a failure and horrible person who doesn’t deserve love, despite being terrified of dying alone as a “wrinkly, old, withered waste”. Not to mention that Stolas, being a very sheltered member of the Goetia family, has a very poor understanding of power dynamics and as such, his "kinky fantasy" of “favors for favors” has real implications that he failed to consider, which may have permanently impacted his relationship with Blitzo. Only time will tell if they can make things right.

hoooooooooo boy, tmagp 4 go-
this time its becoming apparent that there are some themes and clues that tmagp wants us to notice, the sections stand out, begging for attention
like the recurring theme of bones, and blood, and gore in general (it might be too soon to tell exactly what themes are leading to, but they are definitely there)
the violin could fit right in grifter's bone with it's affinity to music and violence
(the music feels aligned to circus over spiral or web
tho there are elements of the web what with the mind control, but i fear all fears possess a certain degree of control, as such
the violence feels more of the slaughter variety rather than the hunt, though you could make a valid argument for flesh as the words 'sacrifice', 'payment' and 'creature with needs and purposes of its own' do stick in mind
once again i do not think that tmagp follows the same format as the smirke's fourteen (or 15) , i merely use them as parallels to better explain what aspects of the episode sticks out to me (and for me refer back later on))
as other listeners have noted, another theme that tmagp in general follows, is 'obsession', rather than tma's 'fear'
i feel this is also paralleling (intentionally or not) the audience's own listening habits and motives
we first consumed the magnus archives for its content of horror
and yet we are back for the magnus protocol like we never left, and perhaps
we never did
the statement's first person pov depicts a truly horrific picture of the slaughter, of the violence that the violin demands
and his descriptions of the mania on the audience's faces too
it's eerily reminiscent of the france's dancing plague
enough about the statement, lets talk about my boy sam and his co-workers, and their workplace in general
there's a protocol surrounding the magnus institute? interesting interesting, very similar to the police division daisy and basira were part of, the unofficial supernatural division
is this like the civil servant version of such?
another thing that is interesting; how is freddy getting these statements incidents? like sam asked, how exactly does a letter from the 18th century end up in the system?
i don't think gwen's answer is satisfactory (and we weren't meant to either), sure someone might be updating the archives website for reasons unknown but rarely in magpod is something a dead end, every little thing is a clue, a small part of the larger picture
so how exactly does a letter from the 18th century is in freddy's system?
perhaps an 'avatar' or the equivalent (such people are suggested to exist in tmagp universe, like the tattooist from daria's statement)
or maybe the fears themselves manifest in phenomena that upload relevant content to freddy
colin my guy, still being iconic and not trusting tech, hats off to you, the only real character in the whole show
never trust any piece of technology older than paper
the video of lena that gwen got in the end? weird? yeah, fuck yes, but how did she even get it? is there any sort of personal communication available on the ancient system? why gwen?
i have so many questions and so many more thoughts, but this is already so long, im gonna write a separate post about tmagp so far, in general

There's something about Tim Stoker's storyline that resonates so deeply within us traumatised people, especially people with cPTSD and complex grief because he's in an objectively horrific situation. He's stuck in the plot of a horror tragedy and he seems to be the only genre aware person, the only person willing to 1. See the injustice of it all and 2. React in a normal way to it, which is to be mad about it. Martin is actively rejecting the idea of fully processing the situation and therefore being angry cause he's trying to plough on and it's infuriating because he just doesn't get it. Or what's even worse, he does get it and Tim, with his all encompassing rage, is the one that's dealing with it wrong. Which is unacceptable to him, because It's Just Not Fair. He's got no one else, really, to understand.
And the thing is, all of his actions are completely understandable. In a horrific situation, it would make sense to let the grief and rage over take you and to a certain extent, it makes sense how he would get to the conclusion of blowing himself and the Circus up in revenge. But even though it's completely and utterly understandable, it's Not Right. It hasn't been constructive and it hasn't helped him move on and it's made the situation worse for the people around him.
And that tragedy really sticks with me. Cause we've all fantasised about anything between burning it all down and lashing out at our loved ones and punching someone in the face. Cause people would probably understand. We've been through a lot. But that wouldn't make it right. So the fact that Tim does it anyway is cathartic and I love him so much AHHHSGSHHAHANAHAHAJJAJAHAJAJSJJSJAJAJSJSJJSHSJSJSJSJSJSJJSJSJSJSJ

we know that Nikola Orsinov stole her voicebox to speak, right? so hear me out on this (pun intended) I think she uses echolocation. it makes with her painted- on eyes, for ears she's probably just drill holes. This works also in the sense that the the Eye and Stranger are opposites, so I think Nikola Orsinov being blind would fit narratively, on top of the themes of the unknown and anonymous that the Stranger is. Further, al members of the Circus might be blind, like how The Lightless Flame chose to all show their love to the Desolation through turning themselves to wax. it just makes more sense honestly, especially in an audio format.

Larry & 1D 2024 bingo cards
It's time! We're about a month into the new year and ofc it's time for the gc to make some predictions for the 2024 bingo cards! Just like last time it comes in two version - regular and unhinged.
Umbro obviously moved from the 2023 unhinged to the 2024 regular one since we actually got umbro 2.0 last year 😅
As per usual this is 100% just for fun and shouldn't be taken seriously and all that.

All my love and thank you to the gc!
