I don’t know if you’re still doing the art slot thing, but maybe TKNV or Kynai? I think those were the names of your ocs…. Honestly whatever you want to draw would be fine. Thank you for your time either way, and thank you for having drawn so much cool Bionicle stuff!
Tumblr media
I'm not doing the art slot thing anymore, but I missed this ask when I was, so I used to incentivise myself to draw something, haha. Thank you! 🩵

After arriving in Metru Nui, the Turaga began to occasionally call each of the Toa ‘brother’ or ‘sister’, partially an acknowledgment of their past lives, partially to acknowledge the success that the Toa Nuva have earned, and largely as camaraderie in the bond that they share as Toa or former Toa.
Tahu outwardly acts like it’s only right that he’d be addressed as such, trying to make others believe that he accepts it in stride, but inwardly, he is humbled by the acknowledgment. The Turaga see through his bluster and appreciate his humility.
Onua is outwardly quite humble and appreciative when it happens, but inwardly, he doesn’t quite see himself as being worthy of being addressed by such wise beings as the Turaga, who he holds in high esteem, so he usually comes off as a little bashful when he responds in kind.
The Turaga started being reluctant to call Gali ‘sister,’ largely because she reacts to the title, by pushing herself a little too hard to prove that she is worthy of the acknowledgment. She once to stayed up all night for two days while repairing an aqueduct in Ga-Metru, and when she could barely keep awake during a meeting with the Turaga, everyone immediately decided that Nokama should not call Gali sister anymore.
Kopaka typically glances at whoever called him this and slightly nods, sort of a polite acknowledgment, but those who know him best, especially Nuju, know that he is actually quite touched by the endearment, and he has to be stoic to keep up appearances. Whenua, having the best hearing, has multiple times heard Kopaka whisper ‘thank you, brother’ in response to Nuju or Vakama.
Takanuva started out being quite flustered when he was called brother by any of the elders, still being unused to being called brother even by the other Toa, but as he grew used to his powers and his responsibilities, he began to accept it in stride. He still won’t return the title, since he still uncomfortable with the idea of calling any of the Turaga by that term, but he is still moved by the respect they show him.
Lewa was delighted when they started calling him brother, But he’s also somewhat amused, often laughing when they call him that. To Lewa, it’s still difficult to imagine these wise old beings as Toa heroes, so he can’t always keep himself from laughing. Even so, he never fails to respectfully return the honorific.
The Toa Mahri have varying degrees of acceptance of the honorific. Jaller is proud to carry the title, and Hahli is eager to prove herself worthy of the honorific (though not as much as Gali). Kongo is a bit smug about it, Nuparu takes it in stride, and Hewkii tends to get sort of ‘aw, shucks’ about it. All of them are somewhat muted in their response, mostly because Nuju was the first to call them brother and sister. They all understand that Nuju calls them that as much as he does in memory of Matoro, and his regret that he never got to see his friend as a Toa and call him ‘brother’ in person. The Mahri learned the bird speak for Brother and Sister, and they always call Nuju brother right back.
And the Turaga universally agreed never to call Pohatu ‘brother’ again shortly after the first few times. After then, he began exclusively referring to the Turaga as brother or sister, always with extreme enthusiasm that the elders often find exasperating and often demanding fist bumps from any Turaga he encounters for days after. Most of them just quietly stopped calling him that, except for Onewa, who continued occasionally calling him brother when he felt he had earned it, but after Pohatu found out that Turaga Dume had been a Toa, the seven had an official meeting where they unanimously voted not to call Pohatu brother anymore. Matau still occasionally calls him that, though, because he personally thinks it’s fucking hilarious when Pohatu tries to fist bump Nuju.

"Come dance with us, Takanuva," Kopaka says.
Takanuva startles: his eyes fall on the Toa before him for a moment before turning again to the Ko-Matoran festivities. Further away from them Nuju looks thoughtful.
"I never learned any Ko-Koro dances," he replies, quietly, sheepishly.
"They can be taught," Kopaka just says without batting an eye, his welcoming hand extended.
It's familiarly cold when Takanuva accepts it.
He is pulled to his feet, but does not yet join the celebrations. His brother takes him a little to the side so their slowness won't be bothersome to those much more confident in their dancing.
"Your right arm," Kopaka instructs, showing him the right movement; Takanuva mirrors him. The Toa of Ice's gaze turns half-lid. "Right arm."
The Toa of Light looks down.
He quickly changes limb.
His brother nods.
Ko-Koro dances are rhythmic, harsh, heavy, powerful, Takanuva finds out as he follows along - like breaking ice into enormous blocks: motions that in Onu-Koro are lighter become heavy enough to sink in the snow, strikes that in Ta-Koro are faster turn slower to build up momentum, swings that in Po-Koro are more calculated appear sharp enough to cut through stone; they maintain a certain minute grace despite it, like certain Le-Koro leaps or the ways they move their hands in Ga-Koro, and the Toa of Light tries his best to imitate it. The songs they dance to are instead thin and crystalline despite the strict pronunciation of their dialect, their pitch high and strong like wind through the icicles as the Matoran circle the bonfire.
The warm glow flicks across the spectacled white mask with a brilliant flicker, and as Takanuva watches it entranced a thought runs through him - are Ice and Light not the same element?
"Very well," Kopaka praises gently, "Very well."
He fixes his eyes on Takanuva and sees him.
It stuns the younger Toa when he realizes it, just for a second: he sees him. He doesn't see through him, past him, before him, he just sees him - he sees Takua, he sees Takanuva, when it would be so easy to superimpose someone else on him, someone whose armor was also grey and white, who was not quite as he seemed, who was much more than what he seemed, if one in a way so different from the other.
(But was it so different, in the end?)
"Very well," Kopaka repeats with the voice he has when he smiles without showing it.
Takanuva straightens his spine.
Nuju breaks their concentration, chittering and chirping and clawing at the air: Kopaka nods, whistles something that sounds in intention like 'coming, Turaga', and kindly pushes his brother among the cheering Matoran who welcome him without questioning his presence as another song commences and with it another dance.
Takanuva stumbles, unsure. Kopeke pulls his arm and shows him how to start before his Ice brother can do so himself; Ehrye yells out the chorus to the song, to teach it to him, but he messes up a line or two in his hurry before he gets it right, and so it has to start again.
Kopaka sings, too. His voice is powerful, rolling out of him like an avalanche.
Takanuva just listens at first, dancing as best as he can, slowly forgetting to look at his feet and arms and starting to have fun. He meets Nuju's eyes: the Turaga smiles calmly, content.
He starts off murmuring the chorus so softly that he can barely hear himself, volume rising slowly with each repeat; at last he's bellowing it out, syllables a little wrong but voice clear, by his brother's side, dancing just like him, singing just like him, in a crowd of whites and azures and greys that reflect the bonfire's shining light into a thousand stars like quartz prisms, until his throat feels sore and he's stumbling and laughing while holding onto the Toa of Ice's arms breathless and so very happy.
"You're a good dancer, Takanuva," Kopaka smiles at him.
"Thank you, brother," Takanuva replies, and among the dozens of things he is thanking him for on the forefront are welcoming him in his loneliness, and seeing him.

Thank You, TheShadowedOne1
I’m not aware how many of you guys in the Bionicle Tumblr knew this person let alone watched his content, but yesterday it was informed to the greater Bionicle community that Nathan Paisie, known better online under his pseudonym TheShadowedOne1, an aspiring film-maker, stop-motion creator, hobbyist youtuber and decently notable member in the Bionicle community, passed away in the last november at the age of 28 to (at the time of this writing) unknown causes. In the Bionicle community, TheShadowedOne1 (which is how I will mostly be refering him as for the rest of this post) was notable for his series of Bionicle stop-motions, compliations of the Bionicle movies and for being one of the first notable content creators in the Bionicle Youtube community (also known as Biotube) who greatly helped to shape the landscape of the Youtube part of the fandom.
TheShadowedOne1 was one of the first big stop-motion content creators in the Bionicle community. He started to make videos in 2008 at the age of 13. During this time he made notable (although very rudimentary) videos such as “Phantoka” or “the Makuta”. Over the time he’d make some relatively notable stop-motion series, including the SALVATION series and the more comedic “Takadox and Pridak” series, both of which gained traction in the community and made him even bigger name in it than he was before.  While a lot of his eariler works were a bit rudimentary, they were still enjoyable, decently impressive (especially for an at the time younger audience), and more importantly influental as one of the first big Bionicle stop-motion channels that inspired many other fans on creating their own stories and short-films. TheShadowedOne1s passion towards storytelling, making movies and Bionicle was always clearly in front, and it’d only become brighter as he matured and became more skilled.
As he grew older, TheShadowedOne1s skillsets would slowly improve and passion towards film-making only grew. As years went by, his stop-motion projects would become better crafted and more ambitious over time, each being more impressive than the last. TheShadowedOnes1 passion for filmmaking would lead him to eventually even film-making at college, as his big life-long dream was to create movies professionally. All skills he cultivated both from education and working on personal projects would lead in him making some really impressive stopmotion shortfilms including  Bionicle: The Protodermis Mine,Takanuva Meets The Shadowed One or Voporak. These stop motions were technically rather impressive, with some of them using surprisingly indepth practical effects and tricks to make them work. In particular Voporak used some really impressive wire-work in it’s action scenes, something TheShadowedOne1 actually made a making of video on. In addition to his technical skills, TheShadowedOne1 was also pretty skilled at voice-acting and humor, both skills he’d utilize well in in his “Ask x” series where viewers could send question for a Bionicle character and he’d answer in character. The “Ask x”  videos would mix light stop motion with humorous writing and TheShadowedOne1 giving each character a fitting performance. In particular his performances the the characters Vezon and Zaktann (both of whom he had voiced numerous times) were not only great, but fit to the characters to a T.
But while all of his later work was quite impressive, it was little more but practice for his passion project and what he most likely planned to becoming his Magnum Opus in the Bionicle stop-motion community: that being an adaptation of Time Trapped. Most likely inspired by to at least some extent by Noah Productions two stop-motion adaptations of the first two Ignition arcs as well as other similar ventures by other creators, TheShadowedOne1 really wanted to make an adaptation to the fanfavorite Bionicle novel that would give this beloved piece of Bionicle mythos the respect it deserved. In 2017, TheShadowedOne1 would release a “trailer” for the project that showcased the final battle of the story, which did earn decent traction among the stop-motion parts of the community. This trailer wasn’t meant to show clips that were meant to end in the final product, but instead act as a pitch or proof of concept, with the film being worked on from scratch. The adaptation would be something that TheShadowedOne1 worked on and off, with at least once starting the project from the very beginning, as he wanted it to be the best it could possibly be and the ultimate culmination of his filmmaking skills. TheShadowedOne1s biggest and most ambitious project was something he was sadly never able to complete, and there’s a good chance he never got to start properly on it, as he was rather busy with school, his personal life and working on other projects, including the finale for his SALVATION series, and said many times he wanted to be done with both his studies and SALVATION before he would start Time Trapped, as he wanted to commit to the project as much as he could and have as little distractions as possible beyond obligations in his work and personal life.
Besides his stop-motions TheShadowedOne1 did make quite a lot of other content on his youtube channel as well. In fact, from 2018 or so onward, most of his later videos being other content as he worked on his larger projects in background. His most notable videos in the Bionicle community weren’t his stop-motions, but rather compilations of the first three Bionicle movies, with a video that the complied first three Bionicle Movies in chronological order into one long film being his most viewed Bionicle video. He’d also make compilations, such as compliations of character themes, compliations showcasing every time a character was on screen in the movies or even sillier compliations like “Every time the characters say Takuas name” or “every time the characters say the word mask”. TheShadowedOne1 also made countdowns and was dabbling into other scripted content as he started “Olisi Other Paths” series where he’d present what would have happened if certain events would’ve gone differently in the Bionicle story. He also made videos where he built different characters, a few MOC showcases and even quite a few shitposts or other shorter sillyness. TheShadowedOne1s deep passion in movies and filmmaking showed in him making small videos or shitposts of his favorite movies, most notably the Jurassic Park films, which were heavily formative to him. He even posted his two student films to his channel: the Dastards, a tribute to the cowboy westerns of the past, and Teach, a film adapting the life of the notorious pirate Edward Teach.
In addition to his creative contributions and general output in his channel TheShadowedOne1 was also rather notable for being one of the biggest, most notable and most vocal fans of the Dark Hunters, as well as fan of Bionicle villains in general. In particular, he was a big fan of The Shadowed One (go figure), as he was his favorite character in the entire series and practically his online avatar. Later on he somewhat started to separate himself from the character, even starting to use his own face on camera for update videos and such, but even then he never completely divorced from the character and had him as part of his online persona and identity in the Bionicle community. TheShadowedOne1 often talked about his fondness for the character in his videos and had the character to play pivotal roles in his stop-motion stories like the aforementioned Takadox and Pridak or Takanuva meets The Shadowed One. He tended to interact with fancontent or participated in discussion involving the character both on his own channel as well as other places in the community he ventured to such as content creators he liked or forums he used. In addition, TheShadowedOne1 voiced the character both in his own stop motion films and in numerous other fan projects, including Ignition 2.
I’m rather shocked and deeply saddened by the news. For me, TheShadowedOne1 was easily one of my favorite Bionicle Youtubers, as well as one of my favorite content creators in the community at large. I watched a lot of Bionicle stop-motions growing up, and while I’m not sure if TheShadowedOnes videos belonged to these videos I watched as a kid, he probably inspired a lot of the channels I did watch. Eventually I discovered his channel, and ended up enjoying his content, though it faded away from my memory for some time. While it’s possible I had found his channel a year or two before, I remember rediscovering him at latest in 2017/2018, thanks to his Time Trapped trailer. I was very impressed with not only the trailer itself but the mere idea of someone wanting to adapt one of my favorite Bionicle stories into an animated movie. Ever since seeing that trailer, I continued to visit his channel from time to time, to see if he had done anything cool or funny recently, or if he had made any progress with Time Trapped. Sometimes I watched his channel more, other times less, but it was still a channel I’d revisit from time to time, and interact with at least once per year from 2017/2018 onwards.
As a longtime fan of his, I deeply loved TheShadowedOne1 channel. His passion towards filmmaking, storytelling and Bionicle showed in almost everything he did. It was present in his stop motions, it was present in his countdowns, his casual talk videos and even his shitposts. Even if his first videos weren’t the most technically impressive and even if a lot of his later stuff were compliations or shitposts, they were still enjoyable, and fun to watch. It was a channel that felt like a safe rock for me, something I could always go back to whenever I was in mood to watch some good Bionicle content or even watch a shitpost or two to wind down my time.
And I geniunely enjoyed his content a lot, no matter what type they were: I loved Takadox and Pridak for its humor and surprisingly bittersweet ending, I found his stopmotions such as Protodermis Mine or Voporak technically impressive works of the medium and was waiting excitedly for the Time Trapped adaptation, no matter when it’d come. I found his countdowns to be informative, I found his compliations to be useful in revisting moments of the movies and I thought the videos he built the models and talked about characters were really interesting to listen to. I liked the concept he had for Olisi Other Worlds, found the “Ask [x]” series to be hilarious and entrataining, and even enjoyed watching his shitposts from time to time. Whether it was his storytelling, his craft, his humor or his opinions, TheShadowedOne1s content is something I deeply adored, and enjoyed. Helped that the man behind the channel seemed to be a pretty decent and cool dude based on the glimpses I saw in his videos and other online presence.
But not only did I love TheShadowedOne1 for his passion and content, there was another reason I loved him as well: his passion towards the Dark Hunters and The Shadowed One. Every fandom has those fans that get associated with a particular character to the point they become the representative of that character, and that their love becomes part of that characters legacy, just as much as it becomes their legacy. And TheShadowedOne1 was the The Shadowed One fan. Whenever I thought of the channel, I thought of his love for the leader of Dark Hunters. And whenever I thought of The Shadowed One I thought of the channel and person behind it. The character and the content creator were so intermingled in my brain I associated them with each other extremely strongly.
But not only was TheShadowedOne1 the The Shadowed One fan, he was more or less the voice for The Shadowed One in Bionicle fan projects. While yes, I did enjoy his voice acting for other character, they weren’t the only takes of those characters I enjoyed. His voice as The Shadowed One was not only his definite performance by a long shot but also the definite version of the character in my eyes and ears. The deep sinister voice he did for The Shadowed One fit the character perfectly, and his acting was really solid as well. In fact, I loved TheShadowedOnes1 voice for the character so much that I actually suggested to the Mangai Projects director Max that he should try to get TheShadowedOne1 to voice the character into the series. Max did like my suggestion, but I’m not sure if anything concrete came out of it.
And just. That passion, that love TheShadowedOne1 had towards The Shadowed One just has been very influental for me. I loved how passionate he was of his favorite characters in his main fandom, and I feel it inspired me to be passionate towards the characters and stories I love and hold dearly. While I’m a naturally passionate person and want to lovemail my faves as much as possible, given how the internet sometimes feels outright hostile to geniune passion and love, it’s nice to see other people who dedicate their online presence to a specific character, and show how much that character means to them in everything they do online. Seeing the passion he had inspired me to keep going and share my passion towards the characters and stories that mean a lot to me, even if the rest of the world seemed like it was against me in doing so.
It saddens me that all that is gone. That the person who I looked up to and whose content I adored is gone. In spite of never knowing TheShadowedOne1 personally, instead only looking at his creations at far, loosing him still stings. Loosing someone who affected me deeply feels like loosing a part of myself, no matter if the relationship was only onesided parasocial admiration. And that’s how it feels. Knowing that one of my favorite content creators in this fandom and a huge inspiration for me is dead feels so absurd, so unreal and so agonizing.
I’m saddened that we will never see SALVATION 6 or Time Trapped released. I’m saddened that we won’t see any more shitposts or countdown videos. I’m saddened that we won’t get more Olisi Other Worlds beyond it’s first episode. I’m saddened that we won’t hear TheShadowedOne1 voice TSO in fanprojects such as the Mangai Project or Bionicle Illiad. There’s a possibility we could hear him voice the character one last time in Bionicle Ignition:Battle for Power as he was cast to reprise his role, but even then that isn’t guaranteed.
But I’m not just sad of loosing TheShadowedOne1, the content creator and figure in the Bionicle community. I’m sad of loosing Nathan, the person behind the online persona, in spite of never knowing him. I’m saddened that someone as young, talented and passionate as him died before he was able to fulfill his dreams. I’m saddened someone who wanted to leave a mark on the form of entertaiment he loved was never able to get into the industry. I’m saddened a promising young filmmaker wasn’t able to create the next classic that would be loved by generations to come, just as he loved the movies that inspired him. I’m saddened he wasn’t able to continue his enjoying his hobbies and passions.  I’m saddened that his friends, family and loved ones who lost a person they cared a lot about. I’m saddened about all the opportunitnies and possibilities in his future that were robbed off him because his life was cut short. I’m saddened that he wasn’t able to life a long and fulfilling life.
Life is fleeting thing. While life may feel long, in reality it is just a little drop in the ocean, that will be snuffed out before we even realize. When we live in moment day to day lives we forget that humans aren’t immortal. We forget that eventually people will die, and that eventually the journey we call ‘‘life’‘ will reach it’s destination. But we also forget that people die young. We often think of death as something that happens to old people, while forgetting that death can happen to anyone. The Grim Reaper doesn’t choose his harvest based on age, but instead can come to anyone even during the moments they last expect it. Death can be merciless, it can be random, it can be unpredictable. So cherish your life and cherish the life of those who matter to you, and show how much you appreciate them before its too late. Live to your fullest and like every day was your last, because you never know when it will be the end.
And to Nathan.Thank you for everything you did in this community. Whether you knew it or not, you were one of the most important building blocks in making the Bionicle fandom what it is today, especially on the Youtube side. You influenced many people in ways you probably couldn’t imagine.. You helped fostering a community, and was present there as one of it’s most important and prominent pillars. Whether you realize or not probably helped people find friendships and communities, You will be dearly missed by me and the many other members in this community who enjoyed and were inspired both by your work and you as a person.
Thank you and rest in peace.

Thoughts On The End Of The Bionicle
I just finished the Bionicle story today. Makuta's dead, Sphearus Magna is whole again and well, and Mata Nui's residing in the Mask of Life.
Tahu's last words and thoughts...
No… I feel like crying.
Tumblr media
But that's it... that's the end... that is the story... of the Bionicle...
Happy Bionicle Day. Happy Bionicle Day to everyone.
Tumblr media
Kopaka, Pohatu, Gali, Onua, Lewa, Tahu... Matau, Nokama, Nuju, Onewa, Whenua, Vakama... Hahli, Hewki, Jaller, Macku, Takua, Takanuva, and everyone else... Thank you... Thank you so much.
I knew this story would be the death of my soul.

My friend and I have been going back and forth about your Technorealm AU. It's silly, I know, but settle this for us. Was Kikao a bit smitten with Takanuva or was it strictly platonic? Because the stoic Ko-matoran falling for the ray of sunshine is perfect.
Aww that's such a sweet ask!! Surprised it isn't sent to @technorealm but thank you all the same!
I did not intentionally write Kikao being infatuated with Takanuva, but that's definitely a sweet thought! Kikao is just extremely curious and lead a very closeted lifestyle, so seeing anything/anyone new is extremely exciting for him. You'll be delighted to know he has since become a chronicler (hence his pull toward Takanuva hehehe), and is out traveling with a group of Toa and making a bunch of new friends and seeing all kinds of things!
I love writing Kikao as very reserved and stoic normally, since it is how he attempts to control his emotions, but he has a big wanderlust, so new experiences make him drop the facade and embrace his natural curiosity and warmth. I think having more experiences than just being stuck in a frozen hole will do him good with anger management.

Honestly, the more I think about a Bionicle G3, the more I feel like doing a Slizers G2 might legitimately be the way to go. Even setting aside my Slizers nostalgia, (I got Blaster and Millennium well before any of the Toa) I feel like it makes a certain amount of sense.
-Bionicle has a lot more recognizability, but a lot more baggage as well; there would be Expectations for a reboot, and the fandom has already proven it could be rather volatile.
-While I do think Bionicle still has lots of unexplored potential and that all nineteen of the central Toa across G1's run (Mata+Takanuva, Metru, Mahri) could carry a reboot, it's also had enough time in the limelight that we don't need more.
-Meanwhile, Slizers had just enough material to be ripe for deeper exploration, while also being vague and brief enough that most directions a reboot could take it in wouldn't come across as too much of a departure.
-Set-wise, they never experienced the gradual size creep that Bionicle did, so they would be easier to keep relatively small and cheap.
-System has come a long way; between Mixel joints, greater levels of technic integration, and more fine detail pieces, they could have the same sort of functionality and aesthetic uniqueness as the originals, while being more in line build-wise with conventional Lego.
-Also, you wouldn't have as many people rioting in the streets over taking that approach.
-Much as I love Bionicle, it is a lot more aesthetically conventional next to non-lego action figure lines; whereas Slizers is inherently a lot more distinctive in silhouette and general vibes; potentially offputting, but potentially a selling point.
-Has the potential to be like Mixels and X-Pods and other similar lines, where you can have multiple possible configurations or characters from the same pool of parts in each Element-themed set.
-Also the chance to learn from what worked and what didn't with the Ninjago Spinners and Chima Speedorz in creating an interactive game out of the Disk-throwing gimmick.
-On that note, the potential to revisit the disk molds or create a new system for them entirely.
-While the idea of a canister or container is probably well dead by this point, there's still the possibility to integrate the cardboard packaging in some way, if it's designed well, while being more eco-friendly.
-And again, thanks to its relative obscurity and lack of pre-established expectations, it might be easier to focus on marketing it to new fans instead of trying to pander to nostalgia or stave off angry mobs.
-Finally, a good way to use Teal now that they've brought it back!

just a list of some nice things Kopaka has done because he is so rude and cold but also secretly cares a lot:
when the Bohrok come he gets worried about everybody else and goes visiting all the other koros and even jokes about how unlikely it is that he would be the one checking on everyone (but still does it lol)
wanted to chew Lewa out for challenging the Bohrok-Kal alone but realizes he's learned his lesson the hard way and speaks gently to him
later comforts Lewa when he is hearing voices inside his head and gives him calm directions on what to do next, to Lewa's relief
that little pat pat on Takua's mask and telling him it's what you do that makes a hero
freezes Tahu to help heal him from the Rahkshi and never appears to give Tahu grief over what happened even though he and Tahu still had a rocky relationship at the time and it would have been easy to rub it in his face
after Gali heals Tahu he catches her before she falls, tells her she did everything she could, and walks her to the water to heal (and okay then he walks away when she tries to have a conversation with him BUT he was going to save Onua and Pohatu from their own cave-in so HA it's still nice GOTCHA. it's a nice-rude conundrum and that is his character)
kicks Roodaka's ass and drags her back to the Rahaga so she is forced to heal them and they get to taunt her fuck yeah you GO Kopaka
agrees to become Tahu's right-hand man at some point, laying down his pride and some of his sense of independence to help the team and mend his relationship with his brother. agreeing to follow when his character is so obsessed with being a loner... that's POWERFUL
grumbles about it but is always there to back the others up when they do reckless shit. has literally walked through fire for Gali on Voya Nui (okay for revenge cause she got hurt but still), charged into battle against multiple Makuta for Pohatu, always there in a pinch
is so so kind to Solek when he's rambling to him about how much of a fan he is. thanks him genuinely for his help
and allows Solek, Tanma, and Photok to come with him and the others into battle because, despite his fear of them getting hurt, he listens to them and recognizes how important this is to them. please accept these last two points as evidence that Kopaka would be very kind to Agori children and patient with them
is also welcoming to Ignika and actually is quicker to allow him onto their team than Pohatu and Lewa were, just waving for him to join them (I think secretly he is a little like Gali where he can see down to the heart of people but that is just me being soft)
when Takanuva is losing control he leaps off his airship just to touch him and remind him who he is and he pulls him back from the brink even though it gives the Makuta a chance to electrify them both ouch
he is NICE it's CANON he doesn't have to be an irredeemable jerkface!! okay sometimes he is a jerk but. not irredeemably. never irredeemably. this post approved by the Kopaka is Pretty Nice for a Total Asshole Committee (Pohatu is a founding member)

Hi! It's called @technorealm and it's a big divergence from the OG timeline based on "Journey of Takanuva: Technorealm" novella!
It's a melting pot of ideas and concepts me and my husband @demitsorou came up with throughout the years it's been around (since 2008, give or take). ^^ The novella is a good place to start with so here's a link to the masterpost:
Enjoy :>

SLIGHT SPOILER FOR BIONICLE!!
You know those videos where Pokémon are reumaguned as different tyoes, like Pikachu drawn as a fire type or a water type??
Knowing what I know now, I want to see what Takua looks like based on different elements.
Like, what does he look like as a Ga-Matoran, as a Po-Matoran, an Onu-Matoran? Even as an Av-Matoran, what did he look like before??
Even Takanuva! What would HE look like as a toa of fire or water??
What about the other toa or matoran? What would they look like if they were swapped??
Artists, where are you!? I NEED TO SEE ALL OF THIS PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!

The lights were bright and buzzing, the sounds were loud and blinding. He had drunk some water, so his lips didn't feel chapped. Everybody seemed to be having a good time, which was pleasant; his eyes felt dry and he could not make out shapes, but only because he was not focusing on anything. He breathed in through his nose and exhaled before his lungs were properly full.
He was tired.
He couldn't tell, because being tired had made his mind numb to most sensations. But he was so, so tired. His arms were heavy and his legs seemed rooted in place.
He didn't even know what would happen now. He pressed his thumb against his palm absentmindedly, wondering only barely coherent if he'd stay like this forever. If they'd stay like this forever. Their situation hadn't even been addressed. No solution had been offered. He could try to remember if anybody had mentioned it, but he could not right now. Not right now.
He was tired.
Takanuva was talking. He had been talking for a long time, explaining everything he'd seen and heard, with Kazi sometimes interjecting without interrupting very loudly under him - something something that piraka something something, stupid riddles something something other motive something something, if I see him again I'll something something - only to be forcibly shushed by Dalu smacking him silent, followed by the conjoined effort of several other Matoran to stop her before he ended up concussed. Takanuva went on talking, completely engrossed, making shadow puppets as he had before the Great Beings to help his narration, and Vakama looked at him proudly until one of the other Turaga would elbow him gently without a word, only a sly smile, and he would avert his eyes for only a moment in a bashful manner. Takanuva continued talking, answering Kiina's questions as rapidly as she fired them at him, their velocity unmatched by everybody else - the amount of times Raanu had tried to have something repeated to him was too great to be quantified by now, though he still hadn't given up on it; Gelu looked at him, amused, only sometimes leaning over to Zaria so the quiet Toa could give him a very quick recap of everything that had been said, with Chiara inevitably hissing more details as she evidently found his narration utterly lackluster. Takanuva kept talking, talking, talking, like he could have never gotten tired of it, Kopeke at his side writing everything down so furiously that his hands were barely even visible.
Pohatu was so tired.
A hand grabbed his own and pulled him up.
He followed without thinking as it dragged him away from the noise and light. It was soft: the sensation dispelled some of the fog in his brain - not enough to let him see, but he knew he wasn't going anywhere dangerous. He wouldn't have done that to him.
He began focusing on his sorroundings again only when he was sat down on the bed.
He looked up at Kopaka. His mouth tried to grin at him like usual and thank him for taking pity on him, but his tongue couldn't move yet and he only managed the faintest idea of a smile.
Kopaka himself only stared at him for a little, standing in front of him.
After a little, he was the one to speak first.
"I won't call you brother anymore."
Pohatu felt like bursting into tears right there and then.
Not in earnest pain or sadness, necessarily. Just as a reflex.
But some numbness was still clinging onto him, and so he didn't; he just looked, lips barely parted in a quiet stupor, waiting for some of his faculties to return to him so he could properly process those words and hopefully find a way to reply to them that could have been deemed appropriate.
"Are you that mad at me?" he finally asked, very softly.
The other Toa's right eye (the one the visors of his Akaku tended to hide) twitched as if recoiling from a hit.
He stepped forward - he had sat him down on the bed and then stepped away, weird - and laid a hand on his shoulder: his fingers sank into his skin softly, with a comfortable chill, very gently caressing him with the tiniest of movements, and he hunched his back so that their faces were on roughly the same level.
"I am furious," he said, with an expression and a tone that was very much not furious at all, which made Pohatu straighten his spine in relief, "But this has nothing to do with that."
"So we're still friends," the Toa of Stone smiled.
Another twitch: "For now."
Something about the way the other held himself, limb tense against him, visage almost straining, reminded him of Lesovikk. Of how intense he had looked and sounded when he'd declared he'd be going off to kill Karzhani with his bare hands, unknowingly dooming the two of them to the Red Star's hellish metamorphic nature, leaving them trapped within these organic full body prisons.
He caught the slightest motion on his lower lip. He was probably biting a little bit of it. He seemed nervous.
He tilted his head again in lieu of asking.
A sharp inhale.
"There is," Kopaka spoke again, very quietly, looking directly into his eyes, "A very specific word I want to call you by."
How interesting.
They both waited a moment: silence.
"I just don't know which it is." the Toa of Ice admitted.
Pohatu widened his smile.
"Can't be harder to find than a Kanohi mask," he joked. "And we've got plenty of experience with that already, anyways."
The other cocked an eyebrow: "We?"
He nodded: "I'll help you look for it, of course. I wouldn't want you to get caught in another cave avalanche without me there to shove you to safety. And this time you won't even have to save my life! Since, you know. Our elemental powers haven't been stolen. Yet."
"Don't jinx it."
The Toa of Stone laughed gently at his friend's furrowed expression.
He looked at him - really looked at him.
Past the skin and hair.
Past his lovely face.
Past everything.
"I could call you by it too," Pohatu said. "When we find it."
Kopaka did not respond.
His eyes widened slightly. His hand tightened just a tad around the other's shoulder. The room was fairly dim; his cheeks seemed to grow a little bit darker still.
"If you'd like that," he breathed at last.
All he got back was a smile.
Slowly, carefully, he went to sit next to his fellow Toa, looking out towards the other end of the room, not meeting the brown eyes that wouldn't tear away from his head; he breathed in deeply, barely producing a sound as he inhaled and exhaled.
They could still hear the entire world erupting with life far into the night just outside.
Forgetting them long enough to allow them some peace.
Without a single word, Kopaka lifted his legs to lay them across Pohatu's lap, pulling himself onto it and letting his nose sink into the crook of his neck; the other let him, only loosely draping his arms around him, tired grin going unnoticed.
He shifted himself to easy himself down across the length of the cot, dragging his fellow Toa along. He laid both their bodies on their sides, feeling his embrace be replicated onto him.
They adjusted for a moment - their grips, their positions, until they were fully, completely comfortable.
They'd fallen asleep on each other so many times in these bodies, whether it be in search for comfort or just because they were too exhausted to realize it, that they knew how they felt almost too well. They knew how it felt to hold something like this so close; how the texture of their skin differed, the weight of each other's hair on their arms, the warmth or chill of their breaths, the strange scents they couldn't get rid of, the way they each jolted depending on whether they were having a dream or a nightmare, the direction each preferred to turn towards, how long it took them to fall asleep.
They were so used to it all that barely noticed any of that.
They just held, having already drifted off.

Thanks to @noactofcharitygoesunresented for sending a reply because I forgot I had asks closed
A1 - Favourite character?
Gali, no contest. I highly relate to knowing the best course of action, but lacking the charisma necessary to convince people.
A34 - Favourite Kanohi power?
Tough one... I think Hewkii uses gravity pretty effectively, but it feels like cheating to choose an elemental power.
Final answer, Kualsi, teleportation. Even with it's limitations, it's got the most utility, you just need to be a little creative.
B1 - Favourite set?
Brutaka is probably the best designed set, with the Rahkshi, 08 Takanuva, 08 Lewa, and Strakk sets being notable runner ups, but I've got a soft spot for Skopio and the unhinged idea to put treads on each leg of a walking scorpion. (Also, the Bohrok Va are the best small sets.)
C24 - Opinion on Scrunkly Tahu
I think I'm in the minority of people who absolutely hate him lmao. There is no redeeming features on this red blocky statue. The point of bionicle sets is posing and articulation, and Scrunkles can barely rotate his wrist. 0/10, do better Lego.
