haha more angst ig
I had this Idea a while ago but I thought given the recent pages, it would be a good time to post (CLICK ON THE IMAGE FOR THE WHOLE PIC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok I didn't realise how creepy the last panel looks by itself there- nevermind that. If you couldn't guess, I can't draw explosions OR fire... but hey, I tried!
Ummm Yeah- What if the society goes Kaboom? cause I sure think it will. I think it would also be EVEN cooler if Robert or Frankenstein is stuck inside and Jekyll has to go rescue them whilst also literally dying himself from all these transformations. You could say this also ties into the theory that I did with @ja9-animations
I'm sorry I have posted practically nothing lately - school and life is very chaotic but hopefully I can push some more stuff out later-I have lots of plans >:) ok sorry for the ramble have a great day

OK SO TGS THEORY
(spare me)
kay, since Jekyll's locked in his room and Lanyon may be on the way. Maybe it's gonna play out like Ch.8 of the original novella. Where Jekyll is transforming like crazy and is holed up in his lab. Quite similar, no?? In the chapter as well, they bust down the door and he dies as Hyde. ENTER THAT SERUM FROM A FEW CHAPTERS AGO THAT THEY USED ON SINNETT? THE ONE THAT MIMICS DEATH??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ch.11 btw)
Jekyll took it from Frankenstein. It may still be in his lab. If Lanyon/the mob break down the door and he's Hyde, he can take it and fake his death, no?

TGS Theory Time
So me and @echooefrost were theorizing...
Remember that scene from chapter 3 where Jekyll and Lanyon were watching the play and well...
Tumblr media
And then what happens the very next panel?
Tumblr media
Those rioters sure do have some flames don't they. The theory we came up with was that the society would catch fire, and that Jekyll would have to choose between his experiments, and his life. (This might be a stretch but this also might be foreshadowing)
Tumblr media
We also theorized that Frankenstein and Jekyll would remake the potion but it wouldn't work. Jekyll wouldn't know why since they followed the instructions but Frankenstein would notice that something has an impurity (just like the book) and know how fix the potion. But at that point, the fire would start to burn down the society and they would be forced to leave.
Everything would literally and figuratively be crumbling around Jekyll.

I've been thinking about the newest update and I realized that it makes perfect sense why Frankenstein of all people would be the first to both see the transformation and know that Jekyll and Hyde are the same person. She's the first person to ever see the cracks in Jekyll's facade and is sort of what triggered them in the first place (as in she's the first person to ever see green-eyed Jekyll). Also, as far as we know, she is the only person that is completely aware of Jekyll's scientific research. Sure, other characters know that he's into science and that he's an alchemist, but if memory serves, Frankenstein is the only one that knows that Jekyll was specifically working on how to separate "good" and "evil" (and then dunked on him for not having concrete proof of this and for studying something so arbitrary but that's beside the point). I can imagine that after seeing that whole fiasco she started putting two and two together as to what the hell was going on. I mean, it's not like she hasn't seen that same shade of acid green eyes on someone else's face, nor heard even a passing description of what this "Mr. Hyde" looked like

I don't know if it's relevant but i noticed that with the passing of time (chapters) Hyde has actually grown. Physically, i mean. I know that the creator of the comic has changed a lot about the artstyle but i've noticed in the new page that Hyde's hair seems to be longer and that (i think) Redeyed!Hyde doesn't seem all that uncomfortable on Jekyll's clothes. We saw Jekyll in Hyde's clothes and it fitted him horribly (cause Hyde's small) but this time the clothes seem to match him better, not perfectly, tho.
I personally feel like it's a nod to the original novel where Hyde is described (by Jekyll himself) to be quite small in the first transformation but that he had grown with the passing of time and the more recurrent escapades.
Or maybe it's there to solidify what Hyde said about the membrane becoming thiner.
or i'm just looking too much into nothing and the changes are due to the change in artstyle.

Untapped Heathmael potential of both of them reminding the other of their partners.
Those two are professional HATERS of each other.
But at the same time Ishmael one day gets hit full-speed with the longing grief once she realizes Heathcliff’s silhouette reminds her of Queequeg. One time at the brink of death Heathcliff accidentally calls Ishmael "Cathy?", her red hair and the blood on his eyes causing him to mix up the two.

A reference to the novella!! It does make me a little nervous that Creature listened to Jekyll, since Hyde tries the window after the transformation later. The window might also be a reference to the novella, where Utterson saw Dr. Jekyll in his office window early on in Jekyll's confinement before he closed the blinds. It also makes me wonder how Lanyon will find out about Hyde. Lanyon seems to have a role similar to Utterson, at least when looking at chapters 7 and 8, so will Lanyon break down the door with the help of the lodgers and find Hyde in there? Hopefully not dead, like in the novella though.
Tumblr media
This panel from chapter 8 proves that Lanyon is Jekyll's lawyer?
It's also possible that Frankenstein's shouting will draw the attention of the lodgers and Lanyon is one of the last people to find out Jekyll and Hyde are the same person.

ok. more thoughts on this page.
we’ve seen all the main characters use these “speech boxes” as opposed to speech bubbles at various points. they tend to be used to show a character narrating, telling a story or recounting past events so we can see actually see these events play out while they talk about it, rather than just standing around a dumping a bunch of exposition.
Tumblr media
jasper in chapter 8,
Tumblr media
rachel in chapter 11, (though this instance being her speaking over events that are happening concurrently to her talking to jasper)
Tumblr media
lanyon in chapter 12,
Tumblr media
and jekyll in chapter 11. (also this panel makes me want to eat drywall.)
but, pretty infamously, hyde uses these speech boxes pretty frequently. he’s the first character to use them, in fact. but in his case, his speech boxes are never him speaking aloud, they’re never him recounting the past. they’re his internal monologue, something that is such a notable idiosyncrasy of his that it’s brought up in-universe.
Tumblr media
he’s the only character who uses the speech boxes as his internal monologue rather than external narration. he’s the only character we really get any internal monologue from (there’s once instance of jasper having a thought bubble at in chapter 1, and then that’s it iirc.)
that is, until now. and it’s jekyll doing it.
Tumblr media
i just think jekyll doing something that has been up until this point so intrinsically linked to hyde is... interesting. and again, jekyll’s face is most definitely being purposefully obscured. but also to note, every character has had a distinct colour associated with their speech boxes, with jekyll’s being red as opposed to hyde’s being a dull orangey-yellow. so it’s still very much supposed to be jekyll’s “voice.” again, interesting.
also, note the the type of internal monologue. self loathing/doubt directly followed by a reassurance--as if two very different ideas are fighting in his brain?

sound familiar?

HERE WE GO - Last Minute Thoughts about the Upcoming Chapter
These are some Things Sage has stated about Chapter 15:
We are heading towards the climax of the story, (it’s going to be a lot)
A lot of Frankenstein and Jekyll stuff
The Background (and possibly the lighthouse) reflects an important moment in the chapter
The foreshadowing [on the chapter cover] is heavy
Personal predictions and Final Theory time:
We are getting a Frankenstein Character (redemption of sorts) arc. Frankie was never a direct morally wrong character but she was an antagonist to Jekyll, and that’s what counts. With this new found ‘revelation’ I think we'll be getting lots of Frnakenstein and Jekyll having to work together. I don’t think that they’ll be “best friends! Let’s bury the hatchet, all good, no problems.” But more of a comfortable and slightly awkward acceptance for one another, where Frankenstein isn’t such a hypocrite and directly against Jeykll who is just trying to keep everything going, and for Jekyll to not care so much about others opinions and his own reputation, hopefully delving back into more arcane sciences himself. (not immediately change but the start of it at least)
We are still yet to deal with the protestors out the front of the building so I think that’s the problem that Jekyll/Hyde and Frankenstein are going to have to tackle together because neither of them benefit from this rowdy and conservative victorian mob. I’m hoping we’ll get to see Jasper and possibly some other Lodgers come into play here, in trying to also help and stop the mob, to show Jekyll that he doesn’t have to try and fix everything himself.
NOW, More onto the topic of the Chapter cover, As I have previously stated (on other mediums) Jekyll will go off the rails, this man is not okay, he is not mentally stable and he is about to absolutely snap. Though I would have already predicted this as we are heading towards the climax of the story and that Jekyll’s Character arc seemed to be heading in that general direction, the Chapter Cover really just confirms all of this (Just look at that guy's face! Evil!!!)
To add onto the cover, we are yet to decipher exactly what the Shoreline/cliff and Lighthouse represent:
a.) This could be a flashback or some sort of memory within the mindscape. I can see this happening in terms of everything (both Jekyll/hyde’s physical and shared body membrane) starting to collapse and as a desperate attempt to gain control the mind/body starts to freak out and start relaying old memories/places from the past as it tries to make sense of everything.
b.) This is an Actual Location that some of the Cast will go and visit within the Chapter. I’m not too sure about this one as the entirety of the comic has been set in London so far but it’s always a possibility! It looks as if the shoreline is somewhere in the U.K. I’m more inclined to believe it’s in Scotland, as Jekyll/Hyde are Scottish and would relate to their past etc. I’m not sure why they would go outside of London, but maybe it’s a frankenstein-related decision…
c.) IT’S ALL A BIG METAPHOR!!! (so this is what I personally believe it to be.)  Knowing Sage’s Tendencies, they love to foreshadow shit in the Chapter covers. They even said so themselves: The Background reflects an important moment in the chapter AND The foreshadowing [on the chapter cover] is heavy. Ok but, What is it foreshadowing exactly? I think the Cliff is symbolic of falling, Jekyll’s fall from sanity, security of self and control. And because he’s falling Hyde has to go down too (because this is all his fault! - says Jekyll probably) The lighthouse I’m not exactly sure of yet but I think that it’s probably a person (either Jasper or Lanyon) Lighthouses symbolise, guidance, hope and safety. I think this person will help pull Jekyll/Hyde out of their spiral and help ground them back to reality (when we get an inevitable breakdown of sorts) The other possibility is that the lighthouse symbolsies an event (kind of what sage stated) but I like the person theory a bit more,,, Lastly the outfits, I don’t think they are really symbolic of anything but purely there to serve aesthetic purposes (similar to Jekyll and Lanyon’s outfits from Chapter 13) BUT If we are theorising, it could show the difference of how Hyde is is turing less ‘Hyde’ opposed to Jekyll because he’s wearing a fancier outfit than normal. But Jekyll does look slightly like a sailor here, adding to the theory that we will go to the ocean (and or) a Lighthouse.
Alright this is getting kind of big so I’ll leave it here. Before the Page drops I think it’ll pick up where we left off (with Frankestien and Hyde) ALSO First Hyde/Frankenstein interaction incoming!!! Suffice to say I am extremely excited and worried at the same time. Oh boy here comes the Angst… Anyway, This is just me rambling, Let me know what you think! I love theorising and this Chapter has got me all types of pumped : O

I feel like I’m the next page this will happen:
Carmilla and the cult follower is going to kill the officer, then because Hyde (technically Jekyll) witnessed this crime and due to the people being able to hear the whistle; they’re gonna blame Hyde cause he was there and IS a wanted criminal….. OR they’re gonna take Hyde/Jekyll to Queen Lucy cause we know that Carmilla knows where she is- so maybe once Dr Hyde transforms back to his true self Dr Jekyll, they could possibly find it odd take him to Lucy’s then Rachel will hear the news and go to Lucy’s/ where Jekyll is and while she’s asking questions Mr Jekyll (aka Hyde in Jekylls body) could happen and she’ll notice and bring him back to the society or something idk

Time for me to do a deep dive analysis of the new cover
Starting with Jekyll and Hyde, Jekyll is wearing his old design clothing from paraphernalia and Hyde is dressed up in fancy clothes I've never seen him in and will most likely see Hyde in this outfit later in this chapter. I want to mention this parallel
Tumblr media
It seems like it's Jekyll's turn to take Hyde down with him. And I want to point out Hydes expression, he's scared, shocked, and even worried while Jekyll just smiles at him with his hair covering his eyes. We don't know if Jekyll's eye are angry, scared, or even crying and it doesn't matter because no matter what he is feeling, it's safe to say Jekyll is not okay.
Now the background. There is an obvious lighthouse in the water but I was unable to see if this lighthouse was based off of a real place or not. The cliffs behind Hyde has cracks in it but on Jekyll's side it's just a bunch of water which brings me to my theory: The place Jekyll and Hyde are in is a memory in the mindscape. Maybe a place from their childhood or teenage years which explains why Jekyll is wearing his old clothing. Jekyll's mind has already been breaking apart as said by Hyde in the previous chapter, but now Hydes mind is beginning to crack and fall apart which mirrors their lack of control over their transformations that has been happening in the real world.
What I think will happen is that after they transform in front of Frankenstein, Jekyll will sort of snap. Not in an angry way but in an "well it's over now" sort of mentality. Because now that Frankenstein knows he is Hyde, Jekyll lost the last thing he had in his eyes. His reputation. Sure, Frankenstein never respected Jekyll and saw right through him but to Jekyll that didn't matter because Frankenstein never got the full story but now she does. And with her knowing comes the threat of her telling other people which will destroy his reputation. It's over for Jekyll and it's all Hyde's fault. If Hyde hadn't transformed right in front of Frankenstein, nothing would be lost. So now that Jekyll has lost everything, he will make sure Hyde loses everything just as well. Jekyll is going to take Hyde down with him.

Does anyone else remember that part in the dragon arc where they couldn’t find Kaneki and Touka was like ‘guys lets just use metal detectors and they’ll find kaneki’s wedding ring!’ And Shuu ordered like a million metal detectors to try and find one piece of metal in an entire CITY (places famous for their lack of metal /s) and IT WORKED? Bc i am remembering it and i feel like i must be misremembering because that is so incredibly dumb but i genuinely. Believe it given the State of TG during the dragon arc.
I feel like im going insane. I’ve had a million energy drinks today. Am i losing it
