When Cardan asked if Jude wanted their wedding to be more romantic and then he made flowers bloom above them when saying his vows! He’s just such a cutie

It’s so interesting to me in tfota that the characters with 'bad' reputations, Jude and Cardan, who are known for being antagonistic/defiant/hostile and cruel/wicked respectively, are the ones who have morals for the things that matter – i.e. their loyalty, the way they freed the human slaves, how angry they got seeing taryn/nicasia cry and how ready they were to fight because of it. Whereas the characters with outwardly 'better' reputations, Taryn and Locke, who are known for being sweet/nonaggressive/compliant and charming/the 'nicer one' respectively, are ironically the ones who prove to have poor morals when it matters, i.e. by betraying those who trust them, and showing little regard for things like loyalty and honour.

It's so interesting and for me at least seriously riled me up to read, because for taryn/locke it's like, you act like you're good but you're actually awful, whereas for jude/cardan it's, you act like you're awful but you're actually good.

Why don’t people talk enough about Cardan’s confession to Jude??? Like, I don’t even have words to explain what I’m feeling rereading it.

I know she better watch out (I love Jude with all my life at stake) but baby girl is the annihilation of magic. She removed the CURSE Jude placed on the soldiers, plus even when her powers were not predominantly active, she removed Hyacinthe's curse single-handedly. Not to mention she shouted "I want you dead" and Lady Nore burst like a freaking balloon.

Jude is mortally strong, but Suren is magically equal to Cardan's even more since she has undiluted magic whereas cardan has the magic which was passed down from Clovis.

So basically baby girl is strong as hell. Plus I don't think she'll keep Oak forever in chains. She's angry now, and if she intended to keep him in chains she wouldn't have visited him so often.

I just loved how they served childhood friends to enemies(but only because they were pitted on different sides by fate) to reluctant allies to almost lovers to enemies again.

They are OTP and people are forgetting Cardan and Jude played this level unhinged game too, and Jude might not have used bridle on Cardan, but still controlled in the Wicked King. So before being wroth on our little feral baby girl, just consider this : THE ANGST IN THE SECOND BOOK >>>>>

People always say Jude’s personality is a copy paste of Madoc, which to some degree is true. He raised her as a father and very much shaped her. But she was like that before too… just like her mother.

In TWK we get the snippet of Jude taking the training wheels off her bike and getting all bruised up while Taryn stuck to the side walks. And then in TCP we get Madoc’s short description of her mother as being clever and brave and unafraid if the face of Faerie.

She burned down the General’s house with a mother and unborn baby inside so she could get away. To protect the people she loved, Jude would have too.

So yes, Jude was polished by Madoc, but she was shaped first by Eva Duarte.

I’m not the only one who never forgave Taryn for what she did to Jude right? Like with Valerian and Locke, yeah I despised them, but it’s not like I truly expected them to be better. But taryn was jude’s family. Her twin. And it makes it worse that Jude was always so savagely loyal to Taryn when Taryn wouldn’t do the same for her. Like Jude straight up shoved Cardan into a tree without thinking because he made her sister cry. Whereas Taryn not only didn’t help Jude, was the reason she was suffering and sincerely didn’t see how she was being awful??? I was honestly hoping when they duelled that Jude would rightfully beat the shit out of taryn because of all the ways she’d let Jude down. It still makes me mad to think about. Jude just deserved better. Ugh.

Cardan writes her name perfectly sm damn times on a piece of paper like he's manifesting:
