Tuk’ata were Force-sensitive beasts native to Korriban, who guarded the many Sith tombs there. Many rumors circulated regarding their origin; some claimed that they were vermin changed through Sith magic, others claim the energy of the temples mutated the beasts. They were vicious, and could speak a bit of the Sith tongue.

Week six done! This time, we had to combine elephants with another animal. I picked a red river pig since their coloration is mammoth-adjacent. Plus, they're cool-looking animals! I also tried some more detailed rendering, a more sophisticated layout, and I'm beginning to approach a workable fur texture. This week concludes the new designs; for the remainder of the class, we'll be working on a narrative illustration. By the way, that text blurb from the image is below the cut!
The Red Forest Elephant lives in the boundary between forest and grassland. Its preferred diet consists of roots and shallow aquatic plants which it accesses by digging with tusks. The short trunk is quite dexterous and can be used to manipulate objects or search the bottom of a river. Red Forest elephants live in small family groups and are skittish when it comes to human interaction. Males have larger tusks which are used for display and foraging.

Energy spiders were large arachnids native to the dark underground caves of Kessel. Their webs were the source of glitterstim spice, the notorious drug that much of galactic crime revolved around. The spiders were resistant to most energy weapons, like blasters, although they could be stunned by ion weaponry. They were a constant threat to the spice miners of Kessel, as the spice needed to be collected from their webs in complete darkness so as to preserve its quality.
