A thought about Mordred in TBoC

The thing about Mordred is that publically revealing their full parentage will always do them more harm than good. Morganna, as much as she loves them, doesn't seem cognizant of this. Or at least she believes that it doesn't matter, because Mordred would be either the heir or the reigning monarch and thus "untouchable." But as much as people dislike this kid for being a bastard of a knight, what does Morganna think would happen if everyone knew they were actually a product of incest? It's clearly as taboo in Camelot as it is in our world, and while it wouldn't be Mordred's fault, people are going to still be disgusted by it. Shit, the kid's own father can't help but be horrified.

There is one way to name them the heir without that backlash, but Morganna would hate it. If we look at the people who know Mordred's true parentage, we know that those people tend to either be loyal to Mordred or to Arthur (except Lot, who could probably be bought off if needed). That means that if Arthur were to claim that he has a secret bastard, they might be able to get away with it. They could claim that Morganna had agreed to raise her brother's child as her own and that everything was an elaborate ruse for the protection of the heir.

I truly do not believe that Morganna would allow this, though. Her revenge comes from the idea that Mordred is her child and everyone knows it. Additionally, to have her title as Mordred's mother stripped from her would be very painful, and not something that she would willingly do.

⚔ 𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖗𝖊𝖉 LOVES his big brother 🫂 (the only time they fight is over whose book choices are better)

⚔ He used puberty blockers when he was young & switched over to HRT once he got older

⚔ He plays quite a few instruments, his favourite is the hurdy-gurdy (initially he was completely self-taught) ... despite being naturally skilled he's still nervous when playing infront of others

⚔ Like his mother, 𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖗𝖊𝖉 enjoys drawing; & once he began growing closer to 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐫 he learned how to whittle (his goal is to recreate the dragon 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐫 made & gift it to him)

⚔ He cries VERY easily, especially when angry; if he's pushed PAST the point of simply crying, his rage becomes cold & sharp (he can be quite scary ... much like his mother) 🥲

⚔ He's an anxious person, but always tries to put on a “brave” face

⚔ When restless, 𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖗𝖊𝖉 tends to rock on his feet (it's his main way of stimming)

⚔ His favourite trial is dragon racing (really anything that involves dragons is his favourite)

⚔ He finds practice combat to be exhilarating 🤺 (it brings out a rarely seen, almost feral, side of him)

⚔ After learning the truth™ on his 𝟷𝟸ᵗʰ birthday, 𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖗𝖊𝖉 has become noticeably protective of 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐫 (ESPECIALLY when his mother is involved); he also began to somewhat distance himself from 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 & 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧 😞

⚔ He's put an emphasis on learning to distance his elemental magic from his emotions (he always HATED the way his mother lets her's run wild & doesn't seem to care if anyone gets hurt)

⚔ The distance between 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 & him has only widened over the years (her refusal to take accountability from her misdeeds makes it impossible for him to trust her again), luckily the same can't be said for his relationship with 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧 (since he took the time to talk through everything & actually listened to what 𝕸𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖗𝖊𝖉'𝖘 thoughts were on everything)

⚔ He's not a fan of wine; preferring mead when it comes to alcohol 🍻

⚔ He's always loved thunderstorms ⛈️

i absolutely adore tboc! the amount of choice you’ve written in for the player is unlike any other if i’ve played, and i really appreciate the care you’ve taken to adapt the arthurian legend for this retelling of mordred’s story. as a child, i loved bbc’s merlin and the sword in the stone, and having played through your game for the nth time, it’s ignited a passion for the story of king arthur and camelot in my adulthood, too. :) i’m slowly working my way through the once and future king by t.h. white. you’ve rekindled my love of learning and reading. thank you. hope you have a lovely day. ♡

Oh gosh this took longer to draw than I thought T-T

Quick and (hopefully) wholesome fan comic for @llamagirl28‘s “The Bastard of Camelot”. This one of Mordred meeting Guinevere by falling off her dragon and mistaking her for a goddess!

While I’m psyched for the angst to come with the reveal of the affair, I’m also looking forward to the sweet wholesome moments between Mordred and Guinevere... if only to make the future angst all the more angsty!

This one’s of little Mordred and Galahad (age ten and twelve. Sorry if they look older, drawing kids is actually pretty difficult). Mostly inspired by Llamagirld28′s quote:

“A prophecy that tells of ruin and makes Mordred a villain // A prophecy that tells of glory and makes Galahad a hero”.

That hit deep, and is one of the reasons my main Mordred is gonna rivalmance him (or, well... rivalmance him after they’ve grown up).

Gotta say, one of the things I love so much about this game is how Mordred’s story parallels so many other character’s story.
