alright wybie here's a free ask to talk my ear off about fitpac GO

this is like a trap isnt it ih gos ok yea

the thing that gets me abt fitpac is that its not that deep. and i dont mean that in an insulting way or that their impacts on one another arent expansive and hugely helpful but i mean it in that like. theres no catch. i love spiderbit for their complexity i love fitpac for their simple, slow, love

that by no means is me insinuating its not got its edges though. theyre just. sweet.

i think both of them have a lot of trauma when it comes to imprisonment and just general fear for their lives and while that could be said for a lot of people on the server i think whats important is that they’ve recognized that in each other? or at least fit has from what ive seen

and pac (and mike tbf) need a constant right now. things are crazy people are disappearinf theres no stability but they can always trust that fit will be there and he will listen and more importantly that he SEES them and will defend them

i think my thoughts abt them boil down to ‘pac needs consistency. a solid rock. he needs a recognizable pattern that doesnt change so he can have a safety net’ and ‘fit spent so long in survival he doesnt know how to just Live and he needs someone to be patient with him’

and its not easy for Either of them especially right fucking now. whats happened is that fit is trying to be the solid foundation for a bunch of people and its wearing him thin. and pac is just speedrunning traumas.

god the babysteps thing will forever be imprinted on the back of my eyes tho. like yeah fit needs to go rly fucking slow. hes a traumatized single father and hes fucking cautious about everything. always has been. letting someone into his life and giving them space in his heart is a big fucking deal. he just cannot afford to make that choice lightly. hell even ramón had to be patient for a bit

whats the fuckin saying like. fell first but he fell harder? wheres the ‘he fell first but didnt wanna think about it until he accepted it at which point he fell so fucking hard it would ruin him to lose it’ thats qfit. he literallt cannot even say the words date or romance or love or wven really Like in a romantic context about pac because shit will get too real and he needs to go slow rven if he has to FORCE HIMSELF to move slowly.

gkd i dont even know where to start with pac. he needs consistency so bad. and mike was that- mike IS that. pac is someone who needs company he needs someone to be near especially lately after his whole kidnapping thing where he was alone in that fuckin room after whatever they did to him—

hes been through so much shit and he just needs someone to stay- someone to turn to and know he’s got slmeone on his side. like pac in his own right is sort of paranoid —not the kind of way he has been recently though.

but like if you had to force tazercraft into designations of head and heart, pac would be the mind and mike would be the heart. pac is thinking ahead, he’s trying to force himself to move on because he knows mike wont, he’s trying to avoid doing things too crazy to keep them off the radar— he’s keeping them out of trouble when he can remember to.

not to say hes not chaotic and passionate in his own right but yknow. comparisons. but hes a thinker yjnow he plans for the future and if he doesnt have someone to be his safety net he fucking panics and doesnt do things he wants to because he’s worried about being caught out alone without any support

all of this to say that he doesnt Really think of romance more then Fun because he needs safety nets first. which is also kind of why the moving slow thing works for him because he’s definitely not going to realize how in deep he is like love wise until its too late. and he probablt cant even fuckin risk it right now considering yhh like Everything going on.

my October watched! (i know it is mid November, college is rough, i did write the post in October as i completed the shows + movie though!)

Orange — it was rough but i was really glad kakeru lived in the end, in their parallel world. i was worried for a bit there when everyone was saying ‘you can’t change the past’ and kakeru was missing. but suwa suwa suwa… his character hurts so bad. The fact that his 26 year old self told his 16 year old self to basically sacrifice his own feelings in order for kakeru to live just hurt. especially when in car when they were all 26 and talking and Suwa basically says that he stole Naho from Kakeru, which he didn’t. and then everyone says if they could go back in time they wouldn’t root for suwa. They’d only root for kakeru. Everyone too was basically talking about Naho’s feelings in regards to kakeru like right in front of suwa too which felt rude asf at points. Idk, suwa’s character in particular, he just let himself get emotionally trampled and it was rough. i think naho’s character was really frustrating at times. she is just not very aware, and so it lead to misunderstandings. there was a time where Kakeru kept trying to hold her hand, and she was just confused. so overall very frustrating at times, but there was definitely a lot of cute moments. i did end up crying for like the last 15 minutes of the last episode. and not like sobbing or anything, but it was rough, i was very stressed watching it. tbf it was also like 3am at this point though. and while i was a suwa fan i definitely support kakeru and Naho in the end.

Ranking of Kings — I had taken a break from this one at some point, not because I didn’t enjoy it, I just get distracted and start watching something else lol. it happens more often than I’d like to admit, but I finished it and I’m really glad I did! this show made me feel so many emotions. I cried or felt like crying a multiple times throughout the show. Bojji is the best boy. He is so so kind and he deserves the world. Love that he and Kage were best buds. They’re so good man. Bojji’s fighting style is so cool, I’m glad it was centered around his strengths and while it may have been kind of op at times he absolutely deserves it. I really like the art in this one, especially just scenic shots. and i think the art suits the show really well. It was definitely darker than I had anticipated! I was kind of shocked at some of the scenes. but i think the violence that did happen made sense in the story. i really disliked the elixir daida had to drink, there’s a bit where they grind something up for it and i remember feeling so disgusted. also!! daida and Miranjo is so so weird!! If I was Hiling man, I would’ve said absolutely not. Daida may end up as king in the end but idc idc, i would not have let him make that choice. I’m really excited for Bojji’s future endeavors though!

Moriarty the Patriot — this is another one i has taken a break from and returned to. I really enjoyed it! I thought watching the crimes being set up was cool. This is one I’ll definitely go read the manga for. So many emotions in regards to this. Sherlock and William man… just bro… I don’t even know what to say. Crunchyroll put them in the enemies to lovers category so i think that explains my feelings well enough. i had to go tell my friend about them too. just Sherlock jumping after William, and the whole letter!! Letters in anime go crazy, man. They’re always so good.

Akira — I went into this blind, all I knew was cool motorcycle man, does a cool slide on his motorcycle that’s referenced in so so many things. (there’s compilation clips on YouTube, and it’s so cool to see how many different things have referenced it.) the violence? The weird blue children? Tetsuo’s massive fucking forehead? like insane. it was good though! tetsuo does kind of like immediately become a villain but tbf he is 15 and just became like almost the most powerful thing on earth so what can you do yknow? i did not like the sexual assault scene with kaori that did catch me off guard, and while i understand why it happened, I don’t think it was really necessary. i was not anticipating what Akira would turn out to be, and i certainly wasn’t expecting the gross flesh thing Tetsuo turns into, I’m so glad my desk faces the wall and not my roommate because I know I was watching my computer like (o_o). i did mention earlier about the violence, like i said i went into it blind so i was a bit surprised by the violence at first but i definitely got used to it, some of the deaths or at least injuries that happened were so brutal. it was crazy. i think if you’re bothered by violence than i wouldn’t recommend this lol. i thought the silhouettes of the characters were interesting! definitely indicative of the era with the skinny pants and big tops. kaneda’s whole red look, alongside the matching bike goes hard though. even when kaneda wasn’t in all red, and just had the yellow top on bro was killing it. i thought his little outfit with the pink polo and khaki pants was funny, like my brother would wear that. i thought the soundtrack and colors for the movie were really cool. i think overall it was just a wild ride, and it was certainly a lot (not that that’s a bad thing, as i did enjoy the movie)

currently watching and/or reading - mp100 s3, chainsaw man, blue lock, spy x family cour 2, and one piece!

senator shockwave was just a sexy thot who wanted justice....poor guy

so there ARE gloves on cybertron...am I to just assume that the doctors don't like using them for some reason????? I mean tbf I've known a few medical professionals who don't wear gloves during certain procedures, like giving shots which, imo, yikes I would never, even simple vaccines can cause bleeding, but to each their own...are ppe rules not strict on cybertron, or is there a low risk of infection transfer due to the nature of cybertronian diseases? ah, the real questions

ouch, the fact that cd ‘never really forgave’ prowl for leaving the heist party w/out a word, even tho it turns out prowl stormed off w/a final request to keep cd safe and out of it all....cd and prowl are just a big tragic trainwreck huh

its interesting that skids used to be religious, when it seems like he isn't now. Wonder What Could Have Caused That Shift In Ideology! Hm!

oh my god I love how ironfist’s fanboy ranting about the primal vanguard is cut short just as he’s saying ‘a bomb disposal kit once used by-’ bc its like Oh I bet he was about to mention tailgate, yknow, the guy who (claims he) was the primal vanguard’s bomb disposal guy...that's such a great little detail

the stuff we hear from roller about senator shockwave is super interesting - it sounds like he’s been pretty aware of the state of society for a while, and has been trying to combat it from the inside...which isn't going so great, it seems, considering the state of society at the time.

also the whole ‘modifying people to hold the matrix (sometimes without their consent?)’ thing he’s got going on is. interesting. again, is there any sort of ethics laws on cybertron, seriously guys,

red alert :(

rodimus is such an interesting character AUGH the fact that he takes red alert’s potential suicide to be a personal failing on his part as a captain...which, yknow, that idea has merit considering rodimus’s part in the whole overlord thing, as well as rodimus having told red alert that ‘everyone thought he was losing it.’ yeahhhhh, that's not quite the approach to take w/someone clearly suffering from a paranoid breakdown

poor magnus has no idea about all the overlord stuff, which is what triggered red alert’s breakdown

tho, magnus, idk that putting red alert in a cryofreeze chamber or w/e is the solution here. although maybe they’re all just at a loss bc cybertron’s only mental health specialist is current hanging out comatose in a bar

are we supposed to (retrospectively) read into rodimus and drift’s agreement to put red alert in storage as a way of covering up the overlord stuff? did they deduce that he figured out about overlord and that's what caused his breakdown? rodimus seems genuinely distressed about the whole cold storage situation, but is there more to it than ‘I failed as a captain bc this guy had a breakdown under my command’? I genuinely do not remember a lot about the overlord plot bc I was so confused the first time I read it and the second time I was too busy being extremely sad, so.

genuinely shocked that cybertron even has ‘health and safety inspections.’ it just figures that the one ratchet conducted wasn't an actual inspection, but an excuse to prepare for some good ole fashioned heisting

seriously, ratchet sure knows a lot about bombs for a doctor. maybe they also cut out the courses on ppe and patient consent to make room for the cool stuff like BOMB CLASSES

I'm weeping at the ‘big reveal’ for tailgate being that orion pax is optimus prime....its so funny that he didn't know that so it was a huge twist for him and absolutely nobody else hvbakdjhfbksjdf I love tailgate

HHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOD THAT REVEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! BROOOOO the senator shockwave reveal slapped me right in the FACE the first time I read this, and that's saying something bc I seriously only understood like 40% of the shadowplay story my first readthru. but the shockwave reveal still had me SHOOK like oh god that was so fucking brutal. jesus

like the fact that the emotionless decpeticon shockwave used to have a completely different look and personality is already crazy enough, but then the tie-ins of empurata and shadowplay? brutal and amazing

like, this is the kinda retrospective backstory stuff that I love. it gives a lot of cool depth to both the characters and the world. I feel like it really helped cement concepts like empurata and shadowplay in the world

and just, AUGH The Reveal still gets me...im pretty sure in my first readhtru I only picked up the fact that the senator PURPOSELY hasn't been named during this issue, and I was kinda ready for some sort of reveal but also figured it could be someone I didn't know bc of my limited tf lore knowledge, but even I knew who shockwave was and phew that blew me away

that full-page art spread is fuckin banging also

anyways, shadowplay arc! I really enjoy this arc and all its genre-hopping goodness, and the framing device of the characters telling a story is a lot of fun. plus we get to see a lot of cool backstory for many characters, and got tons of great worldbuilding for jro’s pre-war cybertron.

I understood a lot more of the story upon my second (and now third) readthru of the series, which was super rewarding bc the first time I wasn't able to follow a lot of stuff (1st readthru I tended to assume that me being confused about something was due to my lack of previous knowledge of lore/story, so I didn't often analyze stuff seriously, or even employ critical thinking skills lmao).

also some gnarly stuff went on w/the red alert b-plot, which we’ll pick up with later....
