oh yeah btw I’m seeing amaranthe in november. they’re with some other people idk I don’t rly care. anyways ticket sites have a lot of nerve putting me through like 16 layers of bad spy thriller nonsense just to buy fucking concert tickets and then charge a delivery fee for a digital barcode. every concert venue around here is like this.

a couple of my fav non-true crime related mysteries:
Cracks: a bunch of people remember a creepy Sesame Street short from their childhoods that seems to have been buried by the network. sounds like some kind of Candle Cove nonsense but is actually real.
Geedis and the Land of Ta: someone stumbles on what seems to be merch for a piece of 80s fantasy media that does not exist.
The Case of the Missing Hit: a guy vividly remembers a song he's convinced was a big hit in the 90s; no-one else has heard of it & he can't find any evidence online
The disappearance of William Cantelo: ok stretching the definition a bit here bcos i guess this guy might have been murdered but this is genuinely such an odd story about a guy who straight up had a doppelganger
Who is the world's biggest purchaser of glitter? guys. who is buying all the glitter. it might have been solved but the glitter manufacturers aren't confirming or denying anything so i will be thinking about this until i die.

Sure thing!
You frowned at the selection of elf ears sitting on display in the costume section.
"Miles, elves can be Black, right?"
Miles' cloak floated behind him as he turned to you and adjusted the pointy blue hat that it came with.
"I don't see why not."
"So why all the ears white, then? C'mere, look!"
He peered over the display and shook his head solemnly. "I just paint mine or dye 'em."
"That's mad work, lemme see what superheroes they got," you sighed as you put the cape and blouse you were carrying back where you found them.
You passed by a few Black Widow costumes (chafing), a Loki costume (horns over-complicated things), and others until something black and red caught your eye.
Perfect.
"You done in there?" Miles called out to you from in front of the fitting room door.
"Juuust about!" You slipped on the mask as a final touch before swinging the door open. "Ta-da!"
His eyes were the size of dinner plates.
"I got--I mean, the new Spider-Man got updated merch? Since when?" He asked, circling you to examine the costume.
It was suprisingly accurate. The material mimicked the carbon fiber texture of the real thing, and the red stripes around the chest had been made sharper. The logo, the eye shape - it was all there. Well, everything except...
"Where the stripes at?"
"Yeah, this one don't got them goofy ass Adidas stripes that Spider-Man has," you remarked. "I'm kinda relieved, to be honest. I liked his first suit better."
Miles rolled his eyes when you weren't looking and didn't comment. "Yeah, whatever. C'mon, we gotta get my wand."
Your eyes narrowed as he walked past you. "What? I say something wrong?"
"Nope!"
"Miles--"
"Wand time!"
Shaking your head, you followed behind him.

Applications for both Zine Contributors and for Graphic Design Mod* are now open!
General Rules are as follows:
➵ All applications will be open from November 24th to December 24th at 11:59pm EST
➵ You MUST be 16+ at the time of application. We will not be accepting any applicants younger than that, even if your birthday falls before publication as this project is also open to adults
➵ A viable discord and email address, as they are crucial for all communication regarding this project
➵ A portfolio of at least 3 pieces of your work. Your examples don’t have to be just for The Magnus Archives, we just ask that most of them be. If you are applying for any specific character(s), you must have one piece depicting each character. They do not all have to be in the same piece. You can submit either one large Google Drive file with all of your work, or up to 5 separate Drive links. We recommend the first option, but either is fine.
➵ For those who want to apply to create for a specific character, that character can be as obscure as you want. nobody is off limits for this project.
➵This is a SFW project, but examples may be NSFW IF YOU ARE 18+
➵ The creation period is January 1st to March first, with three “official” check-ins during this period

I randomly remembered that I can sculpt. Some kind of quick-drying clay and two or three hours of free time = Ta-daah, an APPLe! I'm too poor, so I made the merch myself just for me, lmao. Not perfect, but it could be worse. It was a sunny day today, so I decided to take a picture "in a beautiful way"
+photo when I first made it, at that time it had another stick at the top, but then it fell off, so I had to make a new one (it turned out worse)

WIBTA if i resold some harry potter blurays?
howdy, long-time listener first-time caller here. i (22ftm) used to love harry potter a lot as a kid, but gave up on it completely once rowling’s terfiness came to light (which also made me realize the series’ many other flaws).
i had been gifted a bluray set of all of the hp and fantastic beasts movies just after i stopped liking the series (several years ago) and have never once watched them. it apparently cost US$85, which for my situation is a lot of money. would i be the asshole if i resold them to get some money back on them? my mom gave them to me, but she’s also come around on not liking hp anymore and has never watched them either.
my question is not if i’d be TA if i sold this gift, but if i put more harry potter merch out into the world for someone to buy and therefore show their support for the series and by association its author. as i said, my mom wouldn’t care if i got rid of them.
What are these acronyms?

So… I’ve watched the original X-Men tas probably five or six times, and I was so excited for the new episodes today!!
So I broke down all the Easter eggs I saw in the first episode! I hope to do this with every episode and I’m going to start the second one tonight. This probably isn’t all of them, so comment if I missed something.
If you want a really good analysis of this episode, you should watch the YouTube channel New Rockstars. They do amazing breakdowns of everything nerdy and have the coolest merch!!
Obviously, spoilers for episode one of X-Men ‘97’
Logo update on title card
1:16: The panning of the city shows signs that advertise Ashida, Stark industries, VistaCorp and Da Costa. Noriko Ashida is mutant Surge, who was introduced in New Mutants in January of 2008. Stark industries is obviously Tony Stark. The original show featured a story with both Wolverine and Captain America, so we know the avengers exist in some form. And Da Costa: Roberto Da Costa AKA sunspot appears in the opening of the show, captured by the FOH. Sunspot made his appearance as a member of the original New Mutants.
1:20 Anti mutant graffiti and X logo spray painted over “Report Mutants” flyer on pole.
2:00 FOH has same arm bands and military style berets. They also appear to have sentinal technology as wearable weapons.
2:47 There’s a missing poster for a woman who appears to be Marrow, another frequent X-Men character and Morlock.
4:55 Daily Bugle, the news paper known to Spider-Man fans, flashes by. Again, spider man was in an episode of the original X-men animated series, confirming the universes are one. This paper advertises “Benetton’s Mutant Fashion Show”, the cover notably features four mutants, two of which are resubmit recognized and Banshee and Dust.
5:03 Gambit is rocking a crop top that says “Rock.” From the design, it looks like he cropped the shirt himself. He’s also sporting a necklace with a blue/ white gem. Here, he’s making Begets, a traditional Cajun treat, reflecting on Gambit’s own roots in the French quarter of New Orleans.
5:18 Rogue is back in her pink dress, the same dress she wore in the pilot of the original animated series.
6:54 Beasts’s book collection features Animal
Farm by George Orwell, the book he read in prison in the original series.
7:37 Both Beast and Jubilee mention that Bishop is a time traveler, but neither mention why he’s staying in their time with the X-Men.
8:52 The Danger Room simulation features the rubble of the UN, Magneto flying above it. This foreshadows later in the second episode where he does use his powers at the UN.
9:20 Jubilee lists off powers to Sunspot, asking which are his. She mentions shooting gold balls from his body, saying that would be weird. This references Goldballs, a very real and very weird X-Men.
9:57 Scott stares at a picture of the original X-Men with Xavier. In the comics, the original five are Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Ice Man and Beast. In the show, we’ve seen all five but never all together. And Angel never acknowledges being in the original X-men.
10:00 Scott and Jean talk to Dr. Cooper; aka Valerie Cooper. In comics, she’s an assistant to the president on the context of superhumans.
10:54 The team play basketball outside, just like Wolverine, Gambit and Jubilee did in the original show.
11:08 Charles’ death certificate reveals that the date of his death is 11/11/1996, and that his middle name is Francis.
12:13 Jean confirms for the first time that her and Cyclops’ baby is a boy, most likely Nathan Summers.
18:42 Jean sees a child’s hand drawing a picture when she uses cerebro. Is this a flash to the future of her son?
19:04 The baby jean holds is wrapped in a yellow X-Men blanket.
19:35 The rocks behind Jean turn into gravestones.
23:28 The sentinels call out an omega level threat. This refers to Storm’s Omega level status, one of the first times we’ve talked about power rankings in tas.
23:42 Where Storms’s lightening hits the sand, it turns into glass. This is a natural phenomenon and the glass structures are called fulgurites.
24:50 The soldiers and helicopters that come to take Trask are labeled as UN forces. They’re accompanied by Valerie Cooper, her second appearance this episode.
28:12 When Magneto moves the book, only the metal corners light up as being manipulated by his powers, just a fun detail.

Guess we can add "TA has no respect for his older fanbase" to the list (though, anyone with a brain already knew that).
I hope the older fans who've been blindly kissing his ass will finally realize he's not on your side and never has been. He only cares about having his ass kissed any way possible and literally just admitted himself he does it by catering to the investers who only care about the kids. And to add salt to injury, TA stabbed his older fanbase in the back while "explaining" himself.
Anyone who dares claim teens and adults don't buy merch and "don't add to the franchise" is so out of touch with their own fanbase, it's honestly embarrassing.
