Voidpunk and Informed Decisions
I'm intrigued. I just learned about Voidpunk, and only heard about alterhumans a few years back. I've known about Otherkin for several years and have identified as a Psychic Vampyre for a long while.
I love the internet for this very reason. For the most part, I am anonymous so I can identifty with whatever I please. The caveat, is I have to look into it, experience it, and talk to others about it to make a trully informed decision. I think informed decisions are very important, especially in the modern information age.
What I love about the idea of Voidpunk is their Voidsona. If this existed when I was much younger, it would have changed so much about my mindset and practice! The internet wasn't as accesable when I got into magic, so I had to choose between Satanism and Wicca. Vampirism and Chaos Magic were not as popular, and it is still uncommon for these subjects to be found in many bookstores. Even witchcraft specific bookstores have little on Satanic Magic, Vampirism, and Chaos Magic.
I am going to investigate this Voidsona aspect of Voidpunk as I have been working more with pop-culture magic over the last few months. My other tumblr is harlequin_eldritchkin, which focuses on an offering and virtual altar for Harley Quinn, as well as Poison Ivy and other Magical Guests now and again.
I may portray aspects of a clownsona here and there as time goes on, but maybe not. I know I'm talking to the Void right now, and if you're listening... let's explore this, and other, aspects of the virtual multiverse!

The Infernal Concept: A Short History of the Devil's Kind
The Great Work is a lifetime dedicated to reaching one's Holy Guardian Angel and thus perfecting one's soul on the alchemical path - the alchemy of spirit and the alchemy of matter. This is largely a Western Mystery Tradition concept seen in the works of the old hats like Eliphas Levi, Israel Regardie and Aleister Crowley.
Satan as Symbol and the People's Voice
Satanism, as defined by Anton Szandor LaVey, is not about the Great Work. It is not even about spiritual integration nor enlightenment, what he refers to as 'spiritual pipe dreams.' Satanism is defined profoundly and perfectly in the Nine Satanic Statements as written in the Satanic Bible:
Tumblr media
Magic is used in very specific contexts - Compassion, Lust, and Destruction. No magic of higher spiritual awareness, nor reaching one's Holy Guardian Angel. Those that wear the Devil's Mark are not bound by any spiritual dogma nor condemned by any religious proclamation. We are here to indulge, to experience, and to hold our Selves in the highest regard before anyone or anything else.
This differs from The Satanic Temple, of which I am a Card Carrying Member, in that they take Satan as the symbol of rebellion and art. Rebellion against the State and it's often abusive and bigoted laws. They fight against tyranny in all its forms. Like Lucifer raised his sword to God and the army of Michael, the Satanist raises their voices and banners to the fascism of modern politics.
Tumblr media
Both are valid paths to Satan, although they are largely atheist in approach. Now we move onto Demonolatry, a path of Theistic Satanism.
Demonolatry and Devil Worship
Demonolatry may have been practiced in secret for centuries, but that is pure speculation. What is a fact is S. Connolly wrote the defining book for Demonolaters, The Complete Book of Demonolatry. Honestly, I have not read it but I have read all her free PDF's and was part of an international forum on Facebook several years ago. They believe demons are quite real, they are the definition of Devil Worshippers. Honestly, it's nice to see Satanists not shake like wet dogs when it comes to the question of whether they worship the Devil or not. Satanism, as branded by LaVey and Greaves, is almost made for the mainstream. Demonolatry (and Luciferianism... we'll get there in a moment) are far less mainstream in concept and design.
Demonolatry is similar to Wicca where you seek your Matron or Patron Demon (or Devil). They often come from the Ars Goetia, but just about any dark deity will do. Hekate was my Matron for years, but my path has expanded and I have now since found myself in the 'dark night of the soul' (to take the phrase from St. John of the Cross) where I am Matronless and Patronless as I am redefining what it means to be a Sorcerer.
Demonolatry differs from Wicca on many levels, though. Many practitioners prefer to offer their own blood in ritual and have no problem with cursing people. It is a very individualistic path, as ones aesthetic and ritual design can often be influenced by one's Matron or Patron.
The other unique practice Demonolters use are called Enns, which are syllabic chants similar to Sanskrit Mantras. They are single sentences chanted repeatedly until one enters an altered state where communication with one's Matron or Patron can be achieved.
One of the defining people for Theistic Satanism was Diane Vera. I believe her website is still around, but you may have to do some digging. It's where I learned about Theistic Satanism in the first place. I really enjoyed her website as it was a mature perspective and not filled with the silliness of edgy teenage drama.
Luciferianism and the Draconion Orders
Finally, we come to Luciferianism. Two Orders of which I have been fond of are the Temple of Ascending Flame and The Order of Phosphoros. Temple of Ascending Flame was founded by Asenath Mason after her split with the Dragon Rouge, a highly respected Draconion Order in Sweden (founded and headed by Thomas Karlsson). The Dragon Rouge helped define the Qliphoth and its ritual methods. There isn't much known about Dragon Rouge outside of their website and books by Karlsson (which I highly suggest you seek out! They are works of art and dark wisdom!).
Temple of Ascending Flame is a free online Magical Order, but don't think that makes it easy! You are expected to offer your blood for most of their rituals. The probationary period is 6 weeks of daily rituals of which you write a report and send to the Order. I never got past the probationary period as I no longer agree with blood magic unless it is from someone with a menstrual cycle that utilizes it. No reason to self harm for magic! Qigong is a non-bloodletting form of blood magic. Someday I may write an article specific to this.
Finally, we have Luciferianism as defined by Michael W Ford, founder and High Magus of the Order of Phosphoros. He has a few offshoots, including the Assembly of Lightbearers, which acts as a Church for Lucifer. Luciferians follow the 11 Luciferian Points of Power:
Tumblr media
Ford considers Will, Desire, and Belief the three tenets of magical ritual. Without Will it is merely wishful thinking, without Desire your intention falls short and without Belief you are empty of conviction (for the ritual). He also talks about Deific Masks, the many faces of the deities the Luciferian works with. Each Deific Mask serves a purpose towards ritual and apotheosis. Ford works with several paradigms of 'Witch Blood', including Yatuk Dinoih (Avestian Witchcraft), Kessipim (Cannanite Witchcraft), Akhkahru (Vampiric Witchcraft), etc.
Conclusion
There is no single philosophy nor doctrine for Satanism. The main guidelines are individuality, dark symbolism, and counter culture (The Church of Satan call themselves the 'Alien Elite'). Most paths practice a form of magic and all practice a form of ritual, but their concepts of what ritual is differs.
The Satanic Bible defines ritual as a form of Psychodrama, The Satanic Temple defines ritual as a form of protest, Demonolaters see ritual as a form of devotion and spell work and Luciferians understand it as a path to Apoptheosis. All forms see it as a form of psychological manipulation of the Self. It is a form similar to Jungian Shadow Work in certain contexts, on how to face ones subconscious and learn to work with ones 'inner demons' rather then try to avoid or destroy them. Satanic magic is mainly about self empowerment and this 'magic' can be done in the Ritual Chamber or by ones aesthetic.
Satanism isn't for everybody, nor should it be. For some it is merely a phase, and that is well and good, but for me it has been a defining path of rebellion and antinomian magic since I was a teenager. I hope you have found some use in this post and continue your own research and advancement of the Infernal Concept.

Bestial Sorcery
Tumblr media
The devil Beliar in front of the gates of hell, woodcut, Augsburg 1473
Lilith is also known as the 'screetch-owl.' When she was excommunicated, she was outcast to the desert with the hyeanas and serpents.
Sammael is the serpent in the Garden of Eden.
Leviathan is the Oceanic Dragon with Seven Heads.
Behemoth is a bipedal elephant.
In folklore the magical lodestone comes from the belly of the frog who is Satan in disguise. The black cat, the bat, and the wolf are all relegated to the vampire, who is also known as the Son of the Devil.
Beasts and monsters have been allies to the Devil and Witch since time immemorial. Echidna ('she-viper') is considered the mother of monsters in Greek Mythology, and is the wife of Typhon ('hurricane'), an avian-serpent like giant.
Hekate has many forms, mostly bestial. She is know as Leader of the Dogs (Skylakagetis), serpents (Opheôplokamos ‘Coiled with Snakes’, ‘With Snaky Curls’), but is also known for appearing as a bull-formed (Tauromorphos), cow-eyed (Boopîs), and 'she-wolf' (Mormolykeia).
In Japanese mythology there is the goblin demon king Sōjōbō, the red faced goblin with raven wings. Under Sōjōbō are the kerasu, the humanoid crow mountain warriors. There is the nodeppo, the flying squirrel vampire, the bakenekko, two tailed cat, the white demon cat who taught swordsman philosophy, magic, and of course, swordsmanship. The most famous is the nine tailed fox kitsune, a shapeshfting witch. Even more, there is the kappa, the hollow headed turtle demon found among small bodies of water.
Japan, as you can see, has a rich history of bestial demonic creatures. Some are merely mischevious (bakenekko), some are extremely brutal (nodeppo and kappa), while some are more grey (tengu).
Bestial Ritual
Ritual is a great way to acheive bestial mindset and structure. My prefered way is to make a little fire and pour some fresh herbs into it to make a blazing fire with unique smells in a private outdoor area. If privacy permits, strip down to nothing to really get into the shape of the beast. Mimic its sounds and movements to the best of your ability.
Since my current living situation makes it near impossible to really engage in bestial psychodrama as mentioned above I use my martial arts as a way to mimic animals. The style I was taught utilizes eight different animals, so taking that knowledge I can adapt those animal shapes into whatever animal I choose.
I also have certain workouts dedicated to certain animals concepts, or I manipulate basic calisthenic movements to make them fit into the animalistic form. Such as air squats with a jump I call Bullfrog Squats, there is already a pushup varation from Judo called a Scorpion Pushup, and a WeckMethod Squat I call the Phoenix.
Play and enjoy. Bestial magic is less about results in love or career and more about opening your consciousness to its instinctual nature. As a Satanist/Chaos Magician, it is best to learn to play in the magical arena then be bogged down by illumination so much. Illumination has its place, but especially for the younger people out there, magic is about suspenaion of disbelief to achieve a sense of freedom. Bestial Sorcery is an excellent method.

Arachne
Initially, Athena disguised herself as an old woman, and whilst praising the work of Arachne, also sought to have the weaver acknowledge that her gift came from the gods. Again, Arachne declined to give proper praise to Athena, and even boasted that she could best the goddess in a weaving contest.
No god or goddess of Mount Olympus would refuse such a challenge, and Athena shed her disguise, to reveal herself for who she was.
Arachne was somewhat taken aback, but she would not display any humility nor ask for forgiveness, and so the contest began.
https://www.greeklegendsandmyths.com/arachne.html
At the end of the contest two endings are often told, both ending with Arachne hanging herself and Athena being a bit over reactive.
Arachne as Winner
Arachne wins and Athena is angered by such a decision and destroys Arachne's tapestry and then starts to beat the hell out of her with her tools. This leads Arachne to hang herself.
Arachne as Loser
Arachne can't take the pain of the loss as she was so respected in Lydia that even the nymphs came to see her! So she hangs herself.
The End
Athena loosens the noose and drips a potion Hekate gave to her over Arachne, transforming her into a spider. She didn't do this out of compassion, mind you, she did it to show the gods can never be bested.
Arachne and the Rebellious Flame
Her story is of young hubris and humility. Even though she lost (in certain retellings), Arachne still went toe-to-toe with Athena. Yes, she may have had hubris, but it wasn't without its merits. Being so young yet praiseworthy, for her skill rather then her beauty, is a sign of just how dedicated she was to her craft. She can teach us about passion, perseverance, and skill developed through time.
Much like Prometheus, Arachne was punished not for actually doing anything criminal nor morally negative, but for speaking out against the gods. They were punished for speaking a truth and challenging the highest of authority. Through their suffering we learn a valuable lesson - in spite of the consequences, speaking and acting on one's truth is the most powerful gift of all.

My therapist gave me a few coping methods that are similar in design to basic banishing and groundings. How does a constructive and will driven mind compare to magic?
I call this one the Body Exorcism:
1. Feel an emotion
2. Where is the emotion?
3. What sensation does the emotion bring?
4. What is this emotion (The Naming)?
5. Feel the emotion
6. Let thoughts float by
7. Send emotion into the lower belly
8. Send the emotion down the legs
9. Let the emotion melt into the earth
Sphere of Emotional Distance:
If you cannot be physically distant from a problem person, you can always be emotionally distant.
You can visualize a sphere around you that nothing can penetrate but what you Will, or just learn to shut off your emotions towards a particulal person/issue.
I use both of these on a regular basis to greater or lesser effect. The more balanced I am mentally the more I notice my life flowing in the general direction I want. Sometimes I think of a small desire and it comes to pass with no more then a thought. I notice bigger changes need bigger efforts. I can't think away a bad work environment, and so I add some sigils and energy breaking tactics and notice the environment slowly shifts.
Little magics create little results, but results are results, are they not?

Magic is a Way of Life
An Introduction
I have a busy life. Well, I work a full time job and balance my partner, cat, and hobbies along with it. I am sure many of you are also working stiffs (or full time students), balancing relationships and hobbies and find it hard to find time for your practice. Maybe you want to get into a practice but still haven't because of time or the ridiculous process of attaining magical power.
This why I am writing this essay and have been working on being more proactive here. I want to share my sorcery with you. Sometimes that is sharing blogs with perspectives I agree with, lyrics of my favorite songs, essays like this, meditations and rituals I love and develop, or personal works of art.
Simplicity
I am a nobody as far as you are concerned, and that is exactly the perspective I believe we all need! I have no titles and gain nothing but some views. I just want to share my perspective on a topic I love and wish it helps you, be you neophyte, adept or the Gods Themselves!
I love simplicity, although I also don't mind working hard. I am a lifelong martial arts enthusiast and practitioner and there is no easy way to excel as I have without hours a day and years of work. Magic isn't martial arts, though. Yes, it takes time to get comfortable with magic and to be worth your Blessed Salt. Yes, it will take hard work. And yes, you will get burnt out time and again (I've been at it for over 20 years!) but don't let that stop you!
Magic is also fun, engaging, and wild. It will test your resolve and it may even scare you at times - sometimes results are quick and raw. Sometimes they are gentle. Worst of all, sometimes it won't even yield a ghost's fart. That's the process of any progress, though. There will be ups and downs, good and bad times, and times you wish you never picked up that Hand of Glory with only three fingers left... that means two wishes were made and they decided to rid themselves of the cursed object...
Getting off track, my apologese.
The (not so) Great Work
My Principles of Magic
1. Imagine. Imagination is the gateway to all realities. Supergirl isn't physically real, but she gives me Hope and holds Council as one of my spirit guides.
2. Believe. If I can't believe in the impossible then I am not utilizing my imagination to its fullest potential.
3. Enact. If you do not practice your Craft you will not gain anything. If sorcery is the work of the Imagination and Belief then you have to Enact in Ritual to bring about change.
4. Ritual. Any act of creation. This can be a magical act as simple as Death Posture and blasting a sigil to carving a wooden wand to call forth your deepest desires. It can be as simple or extravagant as you wish as long as you are creating.
5. Consistency. This doesn't mean you have to dedicate yourself to any single paradigm, but you should at least have a standard practice, or practices, you perform on a regular basis. It doesn't even have to be daily, just enough that you are maintaining progress.
6. Journal. The best friend the sorceror ever had! I suggest up to 100 different journals. Don't trust anybody at face value, but trust me on this.

"Sacred space is really just a frame of mind.  You can build it wherever and whenever you please.  Once you get used to it, you can carry a little of it inside of you at all times, so that even in the midst of the most mundane environment, you can find a stillpoint and be at peace with yourself. Once you understand that sacred space is where you choose to make it, and that you can carry it within, you can perform ritual any time and anywhere – even on your way to work, riding the subway."

The Principles of Extropy: Version 3.11 (2003)
Perpetual Progress: Extropy means seeking more intelligence, wisdom, and effectiveness, an open-ended lifespan, and the removal of political, cultural, biological, and psychological limits to continuing development. Perpetually overcoming constraints on our progress and possibilities as individuals, as organizations, and as a species. Growing in healthy directions without bound.
Self-Transformation: Extropy means affirming continual ethical, intellectual, and physical self-improvement, through critical and creative thinking, perpetual learning, personal responsibility, proactivity, and experimentation. Using technology — in the widest sense to seek physiological and neurological augmentation along with emotional and psychological refinement.
Practical Optimism: Extropy means fueling action with positive expectations — individuals and organizations being tirelessly proactive. Adopting a rational, action-based optimism or “proaction”, in place of both blind faith and stagnant pessimism.
Intelligent Technology: Extropy means designing and managing technologies not as ends in themselves but as effective means for improving life. Applying science and technology creatively and courageously to transcend “natural” but harmful, confining qualities derived from our biological heritage, culture, and environment.
Open Society — Information and Democracy: Extropy means supporting social orders that foster freedom of communication, freedom of action, experimentation, innovation, questioning, and learning. Opposing authoritarian social control and unnecessary hierarchy and favoring the rule of law and decentralization of power and responsibility. Preferring bargaining over battling, exchange over extortion, and communication over compulsion. Openness to improvement rather than a static utopia. Extropia (“ever-receding stretch goals for society”) over utopia (“no place”).
Self-Direction: Extropy means valuing independent thinking, individual freedom, personal responsibility, self-direction, self-respect, and a parallel respect for others.
Rational Thinking: Extropy means favoring reason over blind faith and questioning over dogma. It means understanding, experimenting, learning, challenging, and innovating rather than clinging to beliefs.

Lucifer shines light in our darkest times, opening the subconscious to the dreary and the dreamy.
As a masculine power, He gives us sword and shield, pen and paper, voice and podium, that we may extend our Will and rule our world.
As a feminine power, She gives us hearth and home, insight and intuition, birth and death, that we may nurture our Will and rear our world.
As a non-binary power, They give us parallel dimensions and temporal anomalies, apocalypse and singularity, cybernetics and immortality, that we may inhabit our Will and create new worlds.
Lucifer serves none and obeys nothing, for they are the Smile of Terror, the Laughter of the Lost and the Madness of Love. They are all and none, the Death of the Immortal and the Life of the Dead, for They are unbound by human comprehension.
Let not a cult nor scripture tell of Lucifer, for Lucifer is your own and the Other in all its guises. May Lucifer destroy your Heavenly Likeness and set free your eldritch anomoly. We are but Ghosts in the Womb of Lucifera Diana, never born, never dead, but glimpses of the could be of the Gods.

Herein lies sigils of an unrestrained mind. Consciousness goes off into the ether of forbidden fruit. Violent preparations and demonic invocations.
Maybe these thoughtforms are the devil they warn society about. I am the devil worshipper for I worship nothing. I kow tow to gain knowledge and disregard the sacred robes once the secrets have been assimilated. I affirm my own existential beauty, for I am alive! I breathe through the fear and let the anxiety pass. The stars brighten and my mind expands.
Tumblr media
There is no reason to fear the dark; or the unknown will destroy you. You cannot trust yourself. Honesty is not a badge of honor but an aspect of yourself that expands your being toward eldritch undoing.
Our minds are filled with phantasms and zeitgeists of ages passed. They are the link to the supernatural, the praeternatural, and the extraordinary.

The Deep Ones and the Elder Race balance each other's energy. The empty chalice is a receptacle for Yithian Consciousness or Deep One's, or dagonic, energy. Dagonic energy is of a sexual nature, that of play, creation, and healing.
Yithian energy is much more subtle, the mind stuff, what many call 'psi' or 'psychic energy.' They are separate, that of dagonic and that of yithian, types. Dagonic energy is much like Reiki, it has a pulse, an electromatic and temporal feel. Yithian energy is closer to information and has less of a feel and more of a knowing presence, no matter how gross or minute it may be.
Yithian energy can cross aeons and is temporal, floating in deep space and non-time. There is nothing human about it.
Dagonic energy is tied to our emotions and sexual instincts. It has human qualities but is still more pure instinctually.
These energies are gateways to many dimensions of the Deep Self. Combined, yithian and dagonic energies become nyarlethotopic, the magic of shades, ghosts, and ghouls. A reservoir of the depth of the unknown, from Atlantean and Muean to galactic and interdimensional.
Nyarlethotopic energy is our access to Azathothian Blindness. This Blindness is less of a disability and hinderance and more of a sense of the Deepest Self. The Other Within, the Ghost of God. Magic of the darkest as well as of the brightest can be made in this consciousness, for even Lucifer's true form has no effect on the Blindness, for the Darkness is the realm of Understanding by Feeling. Sight becomes a hinderance to intuition.

Life itself is magical. There are several ways to understand this magic. Words such as blessings, grace, virtue, miracles, etc. It is all magic.
Sorcery is defined by 'casting lots', rune and bone throwing being old forms. The Magpie oracle is another example of casting lots, as magpies are scavengers and collectors.
Modern vampires, those unaffiliated with a Coven, House or Halo, can be seen as scavengers and collectors. We scavenge for esoteric Blood and cast our lots intuitively. We listen to the leaves dancing in the wind, the birdsong in the early morning, and the silence of deep space whispering through the stars.
We are witches of the old, the hags in the night, the Devil at the crossroads. We are the monsters as well as the soothesayers. Do not fear us, do not worship us, be vigilant. You never know who we are and which mundane positions we hold. We are everywhere and nowhere. Welcome to Our Mystery.

What if I stepped back into creation, the beginning, the before reality as we know it? Would I find similarities in our concepts of life and death, love and loss, sanity and madness in cosmic happenings held in the stars? Fusion and fission like osmosis and mitosis like downloading a computer program to be taken out by a virus.
We live in a one to one duality from the materialist researcher to the confirmed believer, whoever exists in the middle is insane. I can't rely on my gods to pay my bills as I cannot rely on my job to keep me fulfilled. We are born only for the vast amount of human experience to define us, and we die. The only two realities we have are being born and dying, everything else is undetermined. Now we are even challenging death itself.
Once we defeat death, we only have one stable knowing - we are born. Without death, what do we have to live for? The eternal quest, the art of life, will there be a new form of commerce and government, how will the funerary industry change? Suicide pods will take over our hospices and old folks homes, and we will have a whole new definition of life and even loss.
If you live forever, surely, some will adapt to loss after living so long, or it will completely destroy you. Losing a lover after 7 years is hard enough. What about after 70 or 700, and you're both still youthful and lively? It could cause severe mental and emotional dammage. Then again, we might have pills and robots to take that pain away.
Once robots and artifical intelligence become advanced enough and we have accepted our uselessness in the evolution of technology, are we okay with becoming like a pet?
Surely, they couldn't love us the same way we love each other but it is definitely possible for them to love us like we love a cat. Precious, but not at the level of lovers and family.
Part of me looks foreward to it. People fear the robot apocalypse, I seek to embrace it, but who knows what the future holds.

Pop-Culture Magick: The Pop Cult Urn
The Movie Theatre can be a pilgrammage to the big screen or the inner journey of a pathworking. It can also be a home style date with snacks and your favorite television show.
My partner and I have been watching Tomorrow, a supernatural K-drama about Grim Reapers. The protagonists are the Risk Management (RM) Team who's job it is to reduce the number of suicides because Hell is filling up which is causing an imbalance in the Spirit Realm.
It is an emotional show with just enough humor to get you through the heartache. Like Shadow Work, it helps you face the dark depths of your psyche. Especially if you have ever dealt with suicidal attempts and thought. If you have talked someone out of suicide, it hits on a level deeper then most Western shows as the entire premise is about suicie prevention.
Tumblr media
Risk Management Team and Escort Team Manager (man on the left of the lady with pink hair)
Pop Culture and the Liminal
Tomorrow is based on a WebToon (I have not read it) so it also crosses the liminal from comic to live action. Just like so many of my favorite works of media, like Supergirl, DBZ, iZombie, Vampire Diaries, and the list goes on, started as comics or books and have been adapted to the screen.
Even deeper, they have crossed the abyss of the subconscious to paper drafts, publishing, to the screen and finally to our hearts. A step futher, for us Pop Culture Magicians, to our altars and incantations. I used to try and adapt the ficitonal character to a mythological god, but that is, to be honest, overdone and quite boring to me so I look into the magic of the Multiverse they stem from and how it relates to my personal practice.
Tumblr media
Nina Dobrev as Katerina Petrova (aka Katherine Pierce), Vampire Diaries
Katerina Petrova is one of my favorite characters in the Vampire Diaries. She is the one who turned Damon and Stefan Salvitore, as well as their former lovers. Even more interesting, she was a former witch before she was turned and the doppelganger of Elena Gilbert (the protagonist).
Katerina turned when she hanged herself with vampire blood in her system. This all happened because she tried to kill herself by stabbing herself in the stomach. Rose, a vampire, gave Katerina her blood to save her only to be distracted. When Rose turned to find Katerina, she was already dead.
Beyond the obvious vampiric archetype, she represents Shadow Work, past life regressions, solace, and a form to call upon for help during hard times. Although she is intially portrayed as a villian, all she really wanted was love.
On her death bed, Katerina and Elena sit next to one another and Katerina gives Elena her blood which is also a cure for vampirism. Seasons go by and we find out Katerina becomes the Queen of Hell! She gives up the throne because she gets bored of trying to wrangle in the hellions and just wants to be her own self. That builds another attribute of fierce individuality.
Tumblr media
Making It Your Own
There are so many ways to work magic, and Pop-Culture Magic is one of my favorites as it is a completely modern form (omitting the argument that mythology was the original pop culture media). When I was part of Veritas Society, a forum about Psionics and magic, we had a few 'Radki' practitioners (that were honestly never taken seriously). 'Radki' is short for 'Radical Ki' and takes its influence from anime energy power - particularly DBZ. While I do not work with Radki, I always admired their creativity. That is what is so great about Pop Culture Magic, is the creativity! Never a boring moment with magic!

Auric Magic
Anton Channing talks about a personal aura and an earth aura, which I assume may extend to several other auras through space to the so-called 'ultimate reality'. In Buddhism there is discussion of the One Mind, each Mind is connected in whole or part to this One Mind. In Shingon Buddhism they believe the cosmos is the body of a gigantic Buddha, correlating to the theory that our human molecular structures are no different then the cosmos' solar systems except in size.
I think it's rather ridiculous to think of the universe as a big man but the concept of universal consciousness has always intrigued me. Or a better way to word it, the Universe has Consciousness. This is a way to view Reiki in a spiritual sense that relates to Channing's discussion on auric magic.
Reiki is often translated as 'Universal Life Energy'. This gives us a sense of consciousness as the origin story tells how a ball of white light shone down upon Sensei Usui on his 21st day of meditation, and thus Reiki as we know it was born.
Reiki is an energy healing based spiritual practice and a strong aura is essential to its praxis. To solely concentrate on healing seems a bit of a waste as you become a vampire of sorts, eating the life force of the universe (rather then humans). Thus vampirism and Reiki may be seen as opposing forces of auric magic at first sight, but they are quite similar, as Reiki seeks to heal Other and vampirism seeks to heal Self. All energy medicine is essentially auric induced magic.
Chaos Magic Theory recognizes the possible animation in all qualities and quantities; animism of an "off-white" perception. Atavisms and Death Postures are animist sigils of sordid and beautiful probability. The energies of seperation and balance create a unique taste of magical perceptions and conceptual animation of desire.
