I think it's pretty close between two.

Jen/Kitty is probably pretty obvious. I just. love their dynamic so so much. medic x the one always getting hurt, the Brain Cell™️ x the dumbass /aff, huge buff guy who's (mostly) pacifist x tiny (compared to big guy) cat ready to throw hands

They're just so FUN

plus, their whole "well. this homeless child is Mine Now" deal that they decided they had with no say whatsoever from me ajdskl;asjdk (they literally have. five. FIVE. adopted kids by the end. PLUS their two bio daughters)

I really need to draw them more I miss them

They're slow burn, they're forbidden love, they're Total Opposite Histories Who Find Companionship And Comfort With Each Other okay

Synnda, the Jedi Barsen'thor touched by the dark side and fights to resist it every day of his life. He's so so so gentle and softspoken but can and will tear someone apart if he has to.

Chakem, the Grand Champion's medic who was in prison. and not just any prison, but Belsavis prison. he seems pacifist, but he makes a point that, hey, you don't survive Belsavis by being soft, nor do you end up there for no reason.

They're so different and compliment each other so so well. they're not silly goofy like Jen and Kitty, but it just adds to them I think

so. yeah. it's Incredibly difficult to choose between these two couples ajkl;dasjkl

in the end, it depends on my mood, I think. if I want something soft or silly or domestic, I prefer Jen/Kitty. if I want serious, talks, protecting, I prefer Synnda/Chakem

Whumptober 2022 Day 20: It's Been a Long Day Going Into Shock | Fetal Position | Prisoner Trade

Star Wars: The Old Republic Post-Chapter 8: End Times Characters: Qizulth Verryn (Darth Nox - Twi'lek), Synnda V'ehsz (Barsen'thor - Zabrak) Warnings: Major Character Injury, Blood, Shock

So many lives had been lost, but it was over, now. The Commander had gone to claim the throne in order to forcefully stop the Eternal Fleet’s unchecked rampage, Vaylin was dead, her army in shambles.

Now, came the cleanup.

Qizulth grimaced as he wrapped his own hand—he couldn’t tell tattoos from burns and it ached—but he’d had worse. His gold eyes flicked about, watching, waiting for familiar faces to surface.

He took note of the Wrath cupping Vette’s face in her hands, demanding to know of any injuries before dragging her into a hug. She locked eyes with Qizulth over the smaller woman’s shoulder, and offered him a grateful nod; when she hadn’t been close enough, he’d been the one to leap in to rescue Vette and Xandosc when the Commander was busy saving her husband.

He only offered a nod in return. He’d grown fond of Vette; he would have been furious with himself if he hadn’t at least tried.

Medics and Force healers were running between tents that were hastily erected to provide a place to tend to the injured before moving them to base.

Jorgan and two other snipers were poised up high to protect the temporary camp, Koth was supporting one of his crew under the arm to help them to a tent; Chakem was hovering at his side. Qizulth caught himself making mental notes of every face he recognized. Chakem and Koth were there, but where was their third..?

With narrowed eyes, he brought a hand up to his ear and activated his comm.

“…Has anyone seen Barsen’thor V’ehsz?” There was other chatter over the Alliance’s general channel, but he received a few negatives from those who caught his question.

Qizulth pursed his lips and reached out through the Force. Farther, farther, trying to feel for the familiar life sign—the blinding light, with its touch of darkness held tight to its core most never even noticed was there.

His head snapped up, and he was running before he even realized his feet were moving. His robes caught on the branches of felled trees, on the twisted armor of destroyed Skytroopers, he skidded down a path that branched from the main route Vaylin’s forces had taken to reach the base.

“Synnda?” His voice was swallowed by the trees. “Synnda V’ehsz!” he barked, more forcefully than the first time. Unease was clawing up his spine the longer he went without answer, even as he drew closer to the familiar life.

He was so focused on following who he felt through the Force that he nearly tripped on a body at his feet.

He swallowed and nudged at the Knight laying prone on the ground; they didn’t respond.

When his gaze shifted up, he found a clearing before him.

It was… littered with bodies. Mostly Skytroopers, some Knights—but the half dozen Horizon Guard were what worried him. There was blood, scattered limbs, even a stray helmet that Qizulth was sure would still have the head inside if he checked.

And in the middle of it all…

“Synnda!”

The Jedi didn’t respond. He was curled in on himself—and his white robes were torn, stained with dirt and grass and blood and Qizulth had no idea if it was his own or not.

Touching his unbandaged hand to the other man’s neck, Qizulth felt dread grip his heart.

Synnda’s breathing matched his pulse, and both were far too fast. His skin was cold, slick with sweat.

It was definitely his own blood that stained his robes.

Qizulth knelt in the ruined dirt without care of mussing his own robes with mud or blood. He knelt, used a sleeve to wipe at the sweat on his dear friend’s brow, while his free hand fumbled with his comm.

“This is Darth Nox. Master V’ehsz needs immediate medical care at my location—he’s…” his eyes raked over the Zabrak who hadn’t moved a muscle and was still breathing rapidly, “I think he’s in shock. I… I don’t know what to do.”

He felt helpless. He felt helpless.

Even as he got a reply almost immediately—Chakem and Koth were en route—dread squeezed at his chest.

He’d never seen Synnda so helpless.

The Sith drew his lightsaber and vibroblade to the near distant snarling of shade stalkers. It felt…odd, to stand defensively over Synnda’s still form. But it was all he could think to do until Chakem arrived to tend to him.

Qizulth was used to seeing a powerful Jedi, wielding a dualsaber with practiced ease and effortlessly using the Force to crush an Exarch where she stood. Synnda, who’d broken out of prison cells while wearing a Zakuul-grade collar—twice—and who Qizulth had been on the receiving end of his power more than once when they were still enemies, once upon a time.

But now… Now he just looked so…small.

History

Chakem and his twin were born on Hutta into slavery under Nem'ro. They were merely servants, cleaning the palace and tending to the Hutt's beck and call. They went by different names at the time, names picked by Nem'ro when they were infants, and names neither twin wishes to disclose to anyone because they were humiliating and objectifying. It was Chanet who made the choice to flee when Nem'ro tried to have a chain attached to her collar, dragging her terrified brother after her as the guards took shots at them.

They (or, more so Chanet) stole a shuttle that was waiting in the spaceport and took off. They more or less crash-landed on nearby Nar Shaddaa, stowed away on another ship, and found themselves on Coruscant. They quickly found their way to the undercity, where they decided to lay low for a while. It was then that they chose different names for themselves. Chakem, and Chanet - so similar, their way to remind each other that they'd always, always be there for one another. And Vira - rather, Vira'sen - was their father, who'd done his best to protect them from the worst of Nem'ro's wrath before he was killed in the beast pits.

Chanet turned to petty crime to make ends meet, while Chakem unintentionally found himself the one people went to to be patched up after he'd helped a group after a bad bar fight. Chanet's petty crime eventually turned to bounty hunting, while Chakem's patchwork brought him under the apprenticeship of a back alley surgeon. They were both still pretty young by that point, and got good at avoiding the authorities.

When the Sacking happened, Chanet made it out mostly shaken but with no major injuries. Chakem, on the other hand, found himself with the warehouse he worked out of collapsing on top of him. He lost not only a patient, but also his legs, in the collapse. From that point, it was up to Chanet to try and earn enough credits to keep them afloat, as they couldn't afford prosthetics for Chakem.

They grew irritable with each other over that time. Chakem, because he felt useless, and wanted to help, and knew his sister was struggling to feed them both, let alone keep a roof over theirs heads. Chanet, because she was exhausted and stretching herself thin and, while she felt so so guilty for it, felt angry with Chakem for being injured. She ended up stealing cheap prosthetics for him, and went on to start taking increasingly dangerous contracts.

When she killed a senator and her son, authorities finally tracked the twins down. They were sent to prison on Belsavis - it turned out Chanet had killed, or at least attempted to, more prestigious people than that, and Chakem was considered an accessory to murder. They spent years there until the breakout caused by the Empire.

When they came across the Grand Champion, they made a deal with her: Get them off the planet, and they'd help her find her target. From that point on, they were part of her crew, with Chakem its medic, and Chanet pairing up with the Champion as its muscle. They replace Skadge on the crew, and Chanet goes to kill Nem'ro with the Champion joining in.

The twins part ways come the Alliance, though remain close. It's not really Chanet's cup of tea, so she returns to bounty hunting. Chakem starts training - legitimately training - as a doctor there, and also meets Koth and (or rather, is reintroduced to) Synnda, who he forms a romantic relationship with. He and Chanet still keep in touch, holo-ing each other almost daily.

She both loves the feeling of being vulnerable to the one she loves most, and knowing that Max trusts her enough to let herself be tied up in intricate ways. When she's the one tied up, the scary Wrath can let someone else take charge for once. And when she's the one doing the tying? Oh, what a rush for her girlfriend to let her remove that heavy Mando armor and replace it with something more...intimate, for a while.

Synnda V'ehsz - Not Interested

He's probably let his partners tie him up once, but wasn't a big fan of it. He finds it uncomfortable, and it doesn't turn him on whatsoever; the same goes for doing the tying. Now, if Chakem and Koth want to do it to each other? Now that, he's content to watch...

Chakem Vira - Yes Please

He's willing to try just about anything once, and found he quite likes tying his partners up in beautiful ways. And if Koth wants to do the tying instead? All the better! And he may throw a sly smirk Synnda's way while they're at it~

Jen Sept - I'll Give it a Try

Jen's never tried it, but if Kitty ever brought it up he'd be up for giving it a shot! It may not end up his favorite thing to do, but it won't turn him off, either, and he prefers to be the one doing the tying.

Xaerez - Yes Please

He was surprised to find that he actually enjoys being tied up. It's likely because he's never trusted someone enough until more recently with Theron to let himself be that vulnerable, but... Yeah. He likes the way the rope feels, loves the care Theron puts in to making intricate patterns, and quite likes when it's...well. Maybe it's nice when it's a little tight.

in all seriousness, though? I see people say Cathar customization is sooo limited, so I'm very proud of how unique all of my kitties are <3 (with the exception of the bottom right sisters, but they're supposed to look similar)

Stayed loyal: Terrin (Torian), Lina (Felix) - might?? have Kaiba romance Jorgan. undecided yet. Feymark might?? romance Nadia since Canon Fey isn't her master/is close to her age and it wouldn't have that power imbalance

Didn't: Jen (OG Jen romanced Akaavi, but I retconned it when I remade him cause I didn't like their chemistry)

Who started a romance with Lana, Theron, or Koth?

While I never talked about it, I actually had TWO toons romance Theron. the first was OG Karn which...didn't end well. I'd wanted to see the Theron romance and ended up choosing the Worst Possible Character for it, so that's why I never mention it. Xaerez romanced him, too, and it's canon for his story

Raphios is in the process of doing the Lana romance, I just need to finish Yavin with them so I can continue the romance

and both Synnda and Chakem are romancing Koth (polyship)

Who is your oldest (having played the longest)?

Synnda! He was my OG toon (I can't remember when I started playing, rip), the one my legacy shares a name with (Synnda V'ehsz / V'ehsz Legacy), and he has, ah...quite a few clones scattered across the various severs. OG Synnda is more or less retired on Satele Shan, and the version I currently play on Star Forge is an Outlander Token clone, but yeah! he's my oldest

Feymark! for my pub-side HM prog team, I figured I should proooobably make a shadow tank for those fights that shroud is important (only had vanguard or guardian tanks before), so that's what Fey was created for

he's actually Kitty's kid that he had, and gave up for Fey's safety, when he was younger and fleeing the Empire. Fey knew this (or at least part of it) thanks to his adoptive parents, and while it saddened him he didn't hold a grudge against Kitty (undecided if he'll ever actually meet Kitty, or at least know Kitty's one of his biological parents)

he's half-Miraluka, and "sees" better through the Force than with his eyes. he grew up wanting to help people, and provides aid for Alliance relief efforts into later V'ehsz Canon

in-game he's a Jedi shadow, but canonically he's neither Jedi nor Sith, and also not interested in taking part in the Alliance's Force Enclave. due to lack of training, his Force abilities are limited to natural Force-sight as a result of his species, and using it randomly/lashing out in times of severe emotional distress

Synnda V'ehsz

Synnda is my legacy's canon Consular. He becomes the Alliance Commander's right hand man when it comes to negotiations, and is also highly trusted with planning and sits in on officer meetings. When it starts dealing more with other factions, he becomes the Alliance's lead diplomat, and tends to be its voice when the Commander isn't there.

He has two AU versions: Outlander (pictured above), and Role Reversal (in which he's Sith in a "what if" type AU)

Child of K'hedif from his time hiding from the Empire on backwater worlds, Fey was sent to the Jedi as an infant since his Miraluka father couldn't care for him and Kitty had already left the picture. They went MIA as a Padawan after an animal attack, and grew up part of the Warstalkers who found them wandering and covered in Cthon blood. He later follows Qyzen to the Alliance, providing their skills as a hunter and warrior. They can speak Basic, but have a heavy, hissing accent.

History

His parents realized he was Force-sensitive pretty early on. As they didn’t know how to handle a Force-sensitive infant, they made the decision to take him to the Jedi before he could barely even walk--he grew up in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He grew up alongside a few other younglings--one of which would go on to become the Battlemaster--and he strived to learn various skills from healing, to lightsaber combat, to gathering knowledge, from various Masters and would spend a lot of his free time in the archives reading. He lost his arm and leg while a Padawan during the Sacking; he was attempting to help survivors when his speeder was shot down and he got into a bad crash a result.

Nearing the end of his training, he was sent to Tython to finish under Master Yuon. On Tython, he found a friend in ally in Qyzen--even if they didn’t always see eye-to-eye and Synnda still had a lot to learn about Trandoshan culture. He grew to greatly respect Qyzen and saw him as a dear friend in short time.

He progresses through the class story with the intention of always helping others, even at the cost of his own health. It tests his resolve to the limit as he chooses to shield all of the ill Masters and Parkanas, weakening himself further with each one as a result and eventually showing physical signs of dark side corruption, himself, the more he shielded. He keeps his head high through it all, insisting he’ll be fine. And, to the amusement/concern of his companions, has a hell of a time not breaking things with the Force when his strength is finally returned to him and he has to take a week or so retraining himself. The event helped in creating his fear of mind control, and also why he refuses to use Jedi mind tricks on others.

When he’s put in charge of aiding the Rift Alliance, he takes on his new duties with some trepidation. He knows, if the Rift decides not to join them, the Republic will be put at a massive disadvantage. But he still kept his head high and continued on, kind of learning as he went.

He approached the Children of the Emperor bit a lot like he did for Vivicar’s virus--or, tried to. It took an toll on him when he’d end up having the kill the Children, rather than healing/freeing them as he was able to for the Jedi Masters. But discovering who the First Son was was easily the hardest hit to Synnda, as he’d greatly trusted and respected Syo even as a youngling.

He was hesitant to take Syo’s seat on the Council after defeating him and helping him to get control over the First Son, but in the end Synnda did accept the position. In his new position, he kept in close touch with the allies he’d made, and went on to play a major role through Makeb, SOR, and Ziost.

Come KOTFE, he was helping others flee to Ossus by protecting their ships from the Eternal Fleet--his “protection” involved attacking the fleet outright with only the Serenity in order to draw their attention to him, and only him. Nadia had stayed on Ossus to aid the others, and Synnda transferred HK-51 to her so he could aid in protecting the colony. Tharan got off on Coruscant, while the other three remained to help him. He made multiple successful runs before the Serenity’s engines were damaged and he was stranded to the mercy of the fleet.

Synnda ordered them to take the escape pod, and he took off to draw the fleet away from the pods, and was captured when the engines finally died. He was kept in a prison on Zakuul, where he learned the whereabouts of the “Outlander,” and eventually escaped through a combination of trickery to get his collar off/out of his cell, stealing a Knight’s lightsaber pike, and Force cloaking himself to get out of the facility unseen. He was able to get in touch with Cipher Nine, and later joined Lana, Koth, Teeseven, and HK-55 in the rescue mission for the Outlander.

Upon joining the Alliance, he becomes its top diplomat and one of Terrin’s advisors.

He decides to leave the Jedi Order, though continues to aid it from the Alliance until Atten and Araa become the Commanders after their mother’s retirement. Instead, he helps to develop the Alliance’s Force doctrine, and becomes not only a Grand Paladin, but a member of the Paladins’ leadership known as the Circle.

Bonus Facts:

1. Qizulth is the first - and only - person who’s seen what Synnda’s capable of when he really “let’s loose” and doesn’t hold himself back, touching on the dark side so easily in his reach yet pushed away. He’s deadly and would have made a terrifyingly efficient Sith, having effortlessly crushed one of the Star Fortress Exarchs with the platform she stood on, before dropping her into the Fortress’s core. It wasn’t even a fight - Draya drew her weapon, took one step, and that was it.
