Photos taken in his Beverly Hills home by Swedish photographer Karl Gullers.
Bottom photo: Charlie Chaplin with the very tall Swedish photographer Karl Gullers. Charlie sports a real mustache for his role in “Monsieur Verdoux, then in production.
On the shelf above Charlie’s head (far left) his Honorary Oscar.
“The Circus” awarded him first Academy Award - still not yet called the ‘Oscar’ - given at the first presentation ceremony, May 16th 1929, for the years 1927,1928 & 1929. The special award was for ‘Versatility and genius in writing, acting, directing and producing “The Circus”
