SUBPLOT if someone asked who sundance’s bad seed is, most people would say muse 4a. always getting in trouble for one reason or another, muse 4a has just never been one to follow rules. maybe that’s why muse 4b, the sheriffs child, is so drawn to them. muse 4a and muse 4b have been hooking up pretty casually, but muse 4b’s soft nature is causing them to fall for sundance’s baddest seed while muse 4a is only interested in hooking up. will muse 4a break muse 4b's heart? what would the sheriff say if they found out?
nonsensical ramblings
the world is black and white as a child. a young august planted in front of one static plagued television, soaking up the world of cops and robbers. a mop of blond hair and a missing front tooth, beaming proudly “ MY FATHER’S THE SHERIFF “ , a hero in the boy’s mind. black & white. good versus bad.
then comes middle school, high school, and everything thereafter. it’s living under a microscope. small-town living & dealing out the law don’t tend to equate to a private life. sometimes august knows people’s business before they do —- other times the positions are reversed. it wasn’t the easiest of days, far from the romanticized lifestyle often portrayed on screen. the chill of cold shoulders never fades over the years. children told to steer clear of the ferland boy lest they find themselves under sundance’s watchful eye. the SHERIFF’S SON, an undesired spotlight. as the years come and go, he wonders how he once wore that title with pride.
they made an angel of him. almost golden. of course, the teenage years are a rocky patch for anyone. the spark of rebellion, even he wasn’t immune. eighteen and sneaking out with his father’s pistol, shooting cans and bottles --- until he puts one single bullet through a neighbor’s window. that summer spent wasting away under a scorching sun, completing mundane tasks to earn enough to pay for the replacements. it’s out of character for him, but they write it off as a minor scare --- a teenager. no one was hurt, so all’s well that ends well. right ?
he tires of daily life. the yearning for something more never dies, it just lays dormant. only rarely given a breath of life. he grows exhausted of the endless pestering and gossip tucked in church pews. of the polite smiles and polished image. ‘ when will you settle down ? find a nice girl ? are you going to take over the station ? look at how much you’ve grown. ‘twenty-three years too long in sundance.
he knew the names before he saw them in ink at the station. his father’s endless rants, the population that put grey in his hair. miscreants, that august was explicitly told never to associate with. words that fell on deaf ears and then he goes the extra mile. he can’t help but feel a hint of shame, but never enough for him to put a stop to the sneaking. the town’s bad seed --- the sheriff’s greatest adversary and the cause of most, if not all, of his migraines. then there was august, like a moth to an open flame. it must have been some ultimate form of karma when he realizes something’s changed. the rules of the game aren’t so simple anymore, there’s more at stake. just like that, he’s damned them all. the heart wants what it wants, and now he’s cast as the fool. play with fire, get burned.

his aesthetic is that feeling you get when all your extended family ask about your dating life at the family barbecue. vague ??? maybe so, but it triggers something in me.
he’s dumb, and a tad naive lbh, but this is august.. the sheriff’s son if that hasn’t become,,, really obvious. in the brief readings i did beforehand, it seems like small-town sheriffs can sometimes have a bit of a spotlight on themselves and their family so i kind of envisioned him as being borderline lonely in his youth due to the fact people don’t want to find themselves under the microscope by being friends with the sheriff/’s family. i think the whole sheriff thing has been a big,,, oof in his life. there are probably places he can’t go because his dad arrested the cook in the back or things along those lines.
he’s bored. he has a wifi connection. if his family didn’t think he wasn’t going to get glimpses of the outside world and want to get the fuck out of dodge then idk my dude.
he works as an administrative assistant at the station,, so he’s mainly handling the paperwork and stuff, but id imagine he's a bit of a jack of all trades in the field. takes calls, but also probably gets sent out for the really shitty jobs like the old lady who calls ten times a day for nothing, or that she’s getting calls from scammers :))) but he ain’t going out arresting anyone or doing anything serious. just the “my cat’s in a tree” bs and getting coffee.
in the public eye, he’s probably a real golden child. volunteering, going to church, helping out wherever he can. does he have a genuine interest in any of that ? absolutely not. but it reflects well on his family and on himself. he has a reputation to upkeep. he only went up to high school education-wise, and in a town that probably isn’t too fast crime wise, he has enough free time to be active in the community.

hey hey everyone ! i’m here with a really rushed and late intro that i hope makes some sense !! so i won’t be around till later to actually plot because i’ll be with family but pls like this or im me if you’d like to plot <3

𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲
rhys comes from a very wealthy family and his father is the ceo of a tech company based in silicone valley in california
and because of this wealth hes’ kind of had what most people would consider the “perfect” life with everything given to him at the snap of a finger
and he was basically raised to be the perfect son that could one day take over the family company
except rhys couldn’t stand the idea of being cooped up in an office all day and he really craved adventure. another thing is that he really had a passion for photography and he loved the whole idea of capturing moments with his camera.
so that’s how he ended up in sundance, navada right after graduating high school, because of the beautiful scenery and it was a chance to get away from the stifling feeling that his family gave him
he got a nice penthouse in sundance and switched between living there and being on the road for his photography over the last three years.
to this day his family complains about him living in “the middle of nowhere” in nevada and makes their disapproval of his life choices very audible

i’m just gonna add a bit about his personality here so he can honestly seem a bit of a snob sometimes ?? like he’s been spoiled his whole life so the rich boy kind of jumps out you know ajfgjafgjd but at the same time he’s very passionate about his interests and loves hearing about people’s interests as well. he’s also VERY adventurous and can be spontaneous like if you want to have an adventure at 3 am he’s your guy
he also kind of works as a barista even though he doesn’t need the money and just does it for the experience
he’s not really into relationships and has only ever been in one or two his whole life
he’s still going to be taking over his family’s company even though he doesn’t want to

tw disordered eating / exercise addiction , body image
spent the first 15 or so years of his life in south korea, training in dance & actually wanted to be an idol!
he had a supportive but somewhat strict family who wanted to see him achieve his dreams and so they pushed him, but only as hard as they thought he could handle. good people with good intentions.
he also studied english diligently and worked hard at his vocals because they weren’t his strongest point. he’s also his own worst critic and a perfectionist to a fault which will come to bite him in the ass
was actually accepted as a trainee and lauded for his wicked flexibility and dancing skills! but it was the start of a very swift downfall of sorts. given the encouragement and validation of a company, he overworked himself in the path towards debuting.
the idol lifestyle can be a toxic one if not handled properly -- the constant pressure of having a certain image and dieting to maintain it -- and remi was a victim of it. one of several collapses eventually led to his discharge from the company, understanding he was taking his diet & exercise too far and that to continue wouldn’t be healthy for him.
he was sent to a program in the states to get him as far away from the spotlight as possible and for a few years, he faded into obscurity. at 17, he signed himself out of the program and decided to stay in the us full time.
the vibe of a completely different country was helping him shake off the depression that had come from dashing his idol dreams but also, like, the sense of independence made him feel like he was in control!
and began traning for a different way of using his dance.
kind of jumped from one intense interest into another and began training to be a cirque performer. again, that flexibility and whatnot came into play and he excelled quickly. chose sundance for its proximity to las vegas, obviously, and has been there ever since.
does street performances of his dance for extra cash bc he’s not making a ton yet
i wouldn’t say he’s fully recovered but he’s doing better -- a lot of it has just switched more to a focus on working out and staying super in shape. his personality -- which had gotten lost somewhere in the shuffle -- was finally starting to blossom.
which, speaking of, personality wise, remi is super friendly but guarded. like he’ll make tons of surface level friends but only let a few in super close. he comes across very soft in that he’s a tiny dyed blond bendy little thing who likes to hide in oversized pastel sweaters even in the heat of the las vegas desert but y’know, he’s always cold so its fiiiine.
don’t be fooled though, he’s not an actual angel. he can be bratty, particular, stubborn and holds grudges like a CHAMP. his perfectionist tendencies come out in that he wants to surround himself with perfect people so he gets whiny when things aren’t going his way. a lot of people find it endearing; a lot of people don’t.
loves to go out and have a good time. dance and music are still in his blood and despite it being literally what he does for a living, it’s what he does in his free time too.
a little... free-wheeling shall we say once he’s had some alcohol in him. it’s all bets are off. a nightmareish lightweight who surrounds himself with party people who help him make many bad decisions.
loves one night stands but also has a soft spot for being in love. like he doesn’t quite think he’s worthy of it but he had a brief stint in his rehab program and then maybe one other boyfriend once he moved out on his own.
SUMMARY: he’s an entry level performer (so not making too much but is on the career path to do what he loves) who is determined to climb to the top. very friendly but also keeps a lot of secrets in his bleached blond hair like, you’ll be friends for years and never know that remi isn’t even his real name. loves to be the center of attention but get’s self critical under the spotlight. literally his own worst enemy. oh yeah, and now he’s got a husband that he hATES.

aries moved to sundance when he was seven years old from france when his dad got a better job. however, not everyone came to america with them. his mother, who had a long list of mental health issues decided to stay in france. little aries begged and cried for his mom to come with him, always a mama’s boy. but she refused. for years he thought it was his fault she was the way she was. that she hated him.
aries’ parents got a divorce while he was in america and he hasnt seen or heard from his mother for over ten years. his dad didn’t get remarried until aries was 18. while is step mom is nice enough, she tries too hard and aries? hates her guts.
he started to get into trouble early. by 12 his dad had to take him out of public school and put him in a private school until he got kicked out of there too. he’s always been trouble.
the only good thing he ever had was muse 7b. and even then he messed that up.
he started to sell drugs when he was nineteen just to make some money and to get out of his fathers house. he knows he can do it and never get in trouble because his dad will just pay for him to get out of trouble. like usual.
aries is..... a mess. he’s not a dick but he’s blunt and can come off as kinda harsh but he’s usually nice unless he has to be an asshole.

hey lil flippa! alskdf don’t ask lmao. anyways, this is my disgruntled sunshine, jinae, since i can never seem to handle more than one muse at a time, rip. a lil info about her can be found below!
jinae was originally born in spring valley, nevada to the kind of parents who totally would’ve been caught up in the college admissions scandal tbh. but only over jinae’s sister, not really over her. see, she’s never really held the illusion that she was the favorite child. how could she be? her sister was the golden girl; intelligent, agreeable and well-liked by everyone. and her parents wouldn’t have had to bribe anyone, as jinae’s sister had been happily accepted by multiple universities.
jinae, however...school had never been her strength. she found it hard to pay attention, and spent most of her time in school daydreaming about the things she’d have rather been doing. given this, she decided to skip college altogether. it wasn’t like the family needed her to go on to become some famous astrophysicist, or something. her parents owned one of the most popular hotel casinos on the vegas strip, and had never really been hurting for money. still, jinae’s lack of ambition didn’t sit well with them.
once she hit adulthood, they essentially gave her an ultimatum. either take a job at their casino and learn some responsibility, or be cut off financially. jinae wasn’t the kind of person who could do well without her family’s support at the time, so she didn’t see any other choice. she had to take the job.
it irritated her at first, as most things did. she’s a bit of jackie burkhardt mixed with helga pataki, so she can be a little...hot-headed if things aren’t going her way. but much to her parents chagrin, she actually grew to enjoy it after a bit. she was rather skilled at card games, as it was the one aspect of her parents’ business she’d had interest in before her employment there. she became a blackjack dealer, as it came easily enough for her. just wear a pretty cocktail dress and shoot a few flirty smiles at people so they’d play longer. it was the one science she knew by heart.
personality wise, she’s more of a taker than a giver. mostly because her sister had always gotten the biggest share of everything, so now that she’s out of that situation, she’s a bit selfish, wanting things to herself. she looks for acceptance in all the wrong places, usually in the bed of whoever catches her eye at the casino during her shift. she’s been all but rejected by her parents for a great deal of her life, so she relishes in being able to wrap people around her finger now.
the only real ray of hope in her life in 15b! they’re one of her only close friends, and always an encouragement no matter how crappy jinae might have been feeling about herself on any particular day. they bring the soft cinnamon roll right out of her, so much so that jinae has started to catch feelings. but of course, she’s absolutely certain they don’t feel that way, as they always seem to be with someone else.
i’m totally cool with m, f or nb muses taking this plot btw! aside from the lovely subplot, i’d also love to have a couple more friends for her, maybe someone she doesn’t get along with due to her occasional...abrasiveness, some people she’s hooked up with from the casino, if someone is looking to bring in a new muse, maybe her olga pataki-esque sister??

i’m pleased to introduce my lil juno ! her name is actually junetta but she hates that name so much it’s STRICTLY juno or june works too. half the time people don’t even realize juno isn’t her legal first name.
anyway, lil juno here was born in budapest, hungary but came to the states when she was 5 so she doesn’t ever not remember living in sundance.
junos family life is very .... complicated. her parents both struggled with addiction and tried their best to raise juno without her seeing it, but little juno would come home from school to her dad being drunk or to her mom doing a line on the table. or, juno would come home and her parents would be gone with a note that read ‘vegas. be back soon.’ and some cash for her.
she was super independent by the time she was hitting her teens. very self sufficient and the more she could do for herself, the less her parents would be around. juno stopped caring after a while - she was at the age where she knew exactly what was going on and she always wishes she would’ve tried hard to help them but she had gotten so indifferent towards them that at some point, it didn’t matter anymore.
the one thing that juno really threw herself into was music. her parents were always leaving her stacks of money when they left, so she saved up to buy herself instruments. maybe it meant skipping a meal, but teaching herself to play drums, guitar, and keyboard was something that made her happy.
i also feel like she had a best friend who’s family helped keep her afloat ! ( this is officially on the main <3 )
eventually, her parents ended up not coming home. she really couldn’t pinpoint when they left officially, but until she was about 18 they’d still pop in and leave money and they figured, at some point, she could support herself.
as she got more into music, her and a few friends hooked up a band called the shock and it was the best friend that happened to her. juno was so happy in the band, and she didn’t really care if they got famous or not. making music with her buddies was what made her happy.
this is where the tws start.
however, as things went up, it went south real quick. they moved out to la after blowing up in popularity and quickly fell into the party life. unfortunately for juno, her parents genes kicked in and she fell hard into drinking + drugs. she was enjoying the lavish lifestyle and for a second, understood why her parents always left to party.
however, tragedy struck when they band lost their bass player as a result to their excessive partying, and the band decided to take things home.
however, even with returning home, juno couldn’t shake the bad that followed. she’s been in a Not Great place since and still has a drinking + drug problem. however, it’s not nearly as reckless or bad as it was when they were in la.
juno hasn’t picked a job back up yet and isn’t really sure what she wants to do anymore. the band is still pulling in money + she wants them to work out, but none of them are ready yet.

she’s been back in sundance for a year now and although she had settled down a bit, she’s definitely not the same as she was before.

very talented musician ! plays guitar , drums , keyboard, and piano. also learned to violin in hs but prefers drums over everything.
her personality is a big hard to pin down. she’s definitely chill in nature but has reckless undertones. it’s kinda like she stopped caring about her fell being after a while. she’s not even sure when.
trusts very, very, very, little. maybe its the abandonment issues. you may think she trusts you but it’s very unlikely that she actually does.
despite all her shit, she is pretty fun to be around. sarcastic + sometimes a bit blunt, but she’s not hard to get along with.
it is, however, very hard to crack her shell. she doesn’t talk about her family or growing up and as of recently, it’s hard to talk about her band.
very troubled but tries not to let it show. rly is trying her best :(

okay, are we done reading soft fluffy yuri’s intro because here’s my Final Girl™ and she’s a wreck. we love her but she’s a wreck. she’s a new muse and i’m actually really excited to give her a go because i’ve never written anything quite like her so please be gentle with me.

trinity grew up in the foster system. she doesn’t know her birth parents and only knows that they gave her up willingly, which she’s taken to mean they preferred some vice like drugs or drinking or gambling over her.
one could say the system has made her a pessimist.
she didn’t have a particularly bad experience in and out of foster homes. it just sort of roughed her up around the edges, gave her a chip on her shoulder an attitude problem. that made her deemed a trouble child which only led to her being angrier and really it’s all a cycle that stems from feeling unwanted okay sob story we get it
cue rini (nicknames also accepted: trin and rin) becoming the tiny edgy punk girl in fishnets and combat boots cliche who was loud and crass for attention
and attention she got! mostly in the form of detentions and at-home punishments like grounding and stuff but it was whatever. she was becoming a turbulent force to be reckoned with, a rebel without a care.
she had her first cigarette age 12 and her first drink at 14. she tried drugs at 15 and just generally got in with the wrong crowds. dating around started at 16 and she did so in earnest. guys, girls, it really didn’t matter. she found a way to be the center of attention and get whatever she thought she was lacking at home.
she continued down her tyrannical path of recklessness until she was finally out of the system and forced to live on her own. that’s how she REALLY found trouble. in one of her shady dealing crowds -- the kind that sneaks under 21s into clubs etc -- she met a man who seemed like everything she needed. he was self sufficient, into raising the same hell as her and had an attitude that could top her own.
it started out as a fire meets gasoline type relationship where they both just were engulfed in something intense and passionate and way too hot. they burned through the honeymoon stage fuel quickly though. it was only after agreeing to live together (after a year of dating) in sundance (where he had connections and she knew next to no one) that she began to see the dark side of the coin.
what she had once thought were fun shared vices were actual problems for him -- i mean, they’re probably problems for her too but she doesn’t turn into a whole different person without them. he left his job to move away with her and so money was getting tighter and tighter. i don’t even know if she graduated high school -- i’m leaning towards no so like what employable skills does she have, u know? she was entirely reliant upon him -- he was the clyde to her bonnie and that was the problem.
an ‘attitude to match hers’ soon overpowered hers and the situation became desperate. i’m not going to get into detail for obvious reasons but the crux of it that he’s trapped her in an abusive relationship that she can’t see clearly for what it is because she’s over a year in and also what examples does she have of a healthy relationship, you know?
she definitely does know that she wants out because there’s only so much physical and emotional repercussions one can take in the name of ‘love’. which is where both her occupation AND the plot i’ve put her in come into play.
so the plot basically states that shes a LOUD neighbor and her apartment next door neighbor hates her. well they’re constantly blasting the television or music to cover up domestic spats, parties, and drug trades (he’s got a night job at a gas station to cover rent but like the rest is shady drug business). BUT rini also pumps up the tunes for a completely different reason.
when whats-his-name (he’s npc and doesn’t deserve rights so no name for now) is out for jobs or getting stoned with his pals, rini hosts a live cam show. she may have a weak will when it comes to just flat out leaving her partner but she’s determined to financially put enough away for when she is able. ofc she wants to cover up any evidence of her side job in case her boyf comes home early but also the music is good background noise for what she does
she’s grown successful at it and it’s a way of getting some of that power back that she feels like she’s lost. she also pulls in decent money which mostly goes back into buying things for the show (and places to hide it) but also gets put away for savings in case she ever finds the motivation to kick whatshisname out or leave. she goes by an alias and wears wigs and face masks and contacts and anything to obscure her identity
PERSONALITY because really that’s what’s actually important -- she’s the type to fight a shitty situation with aggression of her own. she’s standoffish and hard to like but once you’re in her good graces, she’s the most loyal mf you could ever need. definitely still enjoys all her vices save for the sleeping around she did as a teen. she’s covered in tats (which she obviously covers for her show) and loves hanging around the tattoo parlor

toni always knew she was adopted. considering it was kinda impossible for her two moms to have kids together. so it never really bothered her. her mothers always made sure she knew how special she was and how loved. toni was crafted with love and kindness.
she’s the youngest of three siblings. a little more spoiled than her two older siblings. a little more of a mama’s girl. so when she said she was moving to another state everyone was shocked. everyone knew she had did a ancestry test and found a twin brother. but no one thought she would move to be closer to him.
under her cute and calm demeanor toni feels lost. unsure of what she wants to in her life. although, she’s a great artist, she’s not sure if she can make a living out of that. so moving to sundance wasn’t only to be closer to an actual blood relative but it was a means to find herself.
many people have no idea about toni’s internal struggle because she’s so good at hiding it. she’s nice and sweet. but if you try to come at her she’ll match you.
she was staying at the sundance inn for a week when she had asked about a job. as part of the deal she gets to stay in a room there until she can find an apartment. the owner is just happy to have someone else there tbh.
subplot: toni is muse 5a.
muse 5a and muse 5b are twins who were born to a single mother who wasn’t ready to have children. in the end, the twins were adopted by separate families. muse 5a was raised in california, and muse 5b was raised in sundance, nevada, completely unknowing of each other. after growing into adults, muse 5a and muse 5b ended up finding out about each other because of mutual ancestry tests. after talking through e-mail for a while, muse 5a decided to make the move to sundance, nevada and to connect with their twin.

introducing the absolute princess that is katherine pham ! her mom always called her kit kat growing up and the name kit stuck with her. she doesn’t mind kat, kit, katherine, etc. just not a fan of kathy but she’s really not that picky.
kit was born in sundance and her family is vietnamese-american and she’s super proud of her culture + tries her best to be in touch with her culture. her mom always involved traditions of their family into kit’s life when she was young which helped me her so involved with it.
anyway ! kit started out singing at a pretty young age, though she really focused on songwriting and she always had a knack for writing little jingles and rhymes
her dad wasn’t always super on board with her becoming a singer and/or a songwriter. he always felt like she needed to do something more practical that was more likely to get her a job. her mother, however, was super supportive and helped her with as much as she could.
in high school, kit and two friends started a little band together. it was kits first shot at trying to do something with music but something just wasn’t clicking with the band and it never went anywhere.
in the mean time, kit was putting up solo covers of her own songs on a youtube page which was gaining some traction. after she realized that maybe she could actually do this if she made the leap, on a spur of the moment decision after the band gave her trying, kit announced that she was going to travel around and try to make something out of herself.
her dad was super disappointed and wouldn’t support her journey. her mom tried to help, but her dad wasn’t having it. of course, he made sure she had food money and that was just about it.
so, OKAY, i’m not saying she had a whole sugar daddy for this portion of her life, but i imagine there was someone ( either la or sundance based ) that would help support her. this is about to go on the main so details can be worked out.
ANYWAY ! that said, she had some support and did end up getting a little fame. she has two singles which both made the top charts + although she was getting a grip, something didn’t feel right about being out in la all by herself.
so, she came home and focused on songwriting. she loves to sing and still does sing, but she wanted to focus on writing so she could be near her family + friends. she ruffled a few feathers by leaving, but she doesn’t regret it. she just prefers low-key singing like on youtube and writing on writing songs for artists. like. mike posner.
now that she’s back she’s focusing on herself + doing what she loves.

jaime hails from barcelona , spain and was born to a loving but troubled single mother; maria chavez. she got pregnant way too young but couldn’t bare to give her son up despite her original plans to. for a while, she struggled raising baby jaime until she met alejandro fernandez. alejandro, a successful musician, met maria at a bar and they immediately fell in love. soon after they began dating, jaime’s younger sister was born.
eventually, the two are wed and little jaime was Not buying mr family alejandro. he refused to call him dad and barley welcomed him into the family. jaime was almost 4/5 when he came into his life and is very protective over his mom, so he didn’t like the idea of some guy Buying her affection.
moving on, jaime only kept from not killing his step-dad because his sister very much kept him calm and grounded and away from anything sharp. he was always bickering with him and keeping a close eye on what he was doing outside of the house. jaime always suspected cheating but never found any evidence.
as a child in spain, jaime was .... Wild. very much his moms spirit. young and wild and crazy and always getting himself in trouble. no matter how hard people tried to tame him, it was like that was the One way he could express himself and get attention.
when jaime was seventeen, a shock came when a fling of his shared that she was pregnant. she wasn’t interested in jaime’s help but she wanted him to know. jaime was completely eager and willing to be in his babys life, remembering his mother raising him alone until ale showed up. however, speaking of ale, his step-dad decided that this was the last straw of breaking rules and getting into trouble so ale shipped jaime off to live with some family of his in the states.
so here’s jaime, completely displaced in nowhere , nevada with family he’s never met. good news, ale’s sister is the complete oppose of him and jaime loves her. bad news, thirty-minutes from vegas meant jaime was back to getting in trouble again though his aunt didn’t really seem to care like ale did.
also, forgot to mention that he’s got a whole son in spain whos currently 9 ! him + his sons mom text all the time and he gets constant updates and skypes with him. he’s honestly more of a fun long distance uncle, but he’s happy to be in his sons life. HOWEVER, no one in sundance really knows that he has a son except , of course , his sister + his best friend.
ANYWAY. moving on. everything since he got to sundance is pretty much history. his number one public enemy is easily the sheriff who’s always trying to blame something on him which is absolutely hilarious when u remember he’s actively hooking up with the sheriffs son. he’s beside himself about it. honestly.
at some point, almost like a coping thing, jaime took up art + started to apprentice and is now one of the head tattooers at inkspired. he wants to eventually open his own shop up so if u play a tattoo artist pls hmu is u think them + jam could ever have their own shop together bc we love some good Friendly competition. it could also be in vegas bc, u know.

jaime is ...... an acquired taste. he’s not for everyone but if he is for you, you probably dig him a lot. he can be VERY personable, super charming. very funny when he tries. definitely a Big Dumb and he can’t seem to help that but we love him for it.
he can be super abrasive and blunt depending on the mood that you catch him in. he’s got a quick temper and gets heated Very quickly but can also be brought down pretty fast. he’s a sucker for a good joke. or a good hug but he doesn’t tell people that openly.
he’s really not a bad guy he just .... can’t really help it. he’s always been a bit of a mess.

daphne had a pretty normal early life and upbringing. she wasn’t born into wealth but they weren’t poor either. just a classic middle class family. nothing weird or special.
daph was always popular in school. it didnt matter if it was elementary school or high school. people just always gravitated to her. she started cheerleading when she was in second grade and did it all the way throughout high school. daph is also extremely smart she kept her grades up and was top of her class when she graduated. which is why it was such a shock when she decided not to go to college and instead she wanted to marry her high school sweetheart.
when her marriage fell apart daph was beyond devastated. she wanted so desperately to keep her marriage together for their kid and because she still loves oliver.
while they were going through the process of separating daph befriended a single mother in town that was a stripper and escort, and this intrigued daphne. the quick money, the companionship. no one knows she’s doing this. especially her family and oliver. she works from home doing coding as well but she’s not doing it as much as she used to. it’s now more of a front for the money she has.
subplot fourteen: daph is 14a
muse 14a and muse 14b were high school sweethearts, and everyone knew they would get married. they were married young, right out of high school, and it wasn’t soon after that they were welcoming their first child. however, along with the birth of their child came a whirlwind of issues, and they decided to hold it together for the baby. however, within the last few years, things have gotten increasingly bad between them, and they knew it was time to call it quits. however, they remain friends to support their child.

this is what i’m calling my intermission soft!character. they are yuri and they are significantly less of a tragic mess than my other two children. don’t get me wrong, they are still going thru some shit but that’s only because all my characters are -- they just are much better equipped to handle it and their life is actually going super well! so! off we go
born to first generation korean immigrants as one of three children. yuri’s the youngest and was maybe babied a little (read: a lot) but instead of turning out like a little brat (side eyes at remi) they’re actual a little poppet angel
always tended towards the shier side which resulted in a few close friends but also some bullying. especially since he felt more comfortable speaking korean as a teeny tot but despite being soft, he’s resilient ok
plus they did/ do HAVE friends. most notably the other two muses from their plot. they’ve been a best friend trio for life and are a large part of the reason why yuri is still a soft blossoming sunflower.
they were kind of an outcast at school for their socially anxious tendencies, a stutter they picked up from the bullying about how they spoke and then, a bit later on, for their unwillingness to conform to masculine stereotypes. the bullying made their school life kind of a nightmare.
their academics suffered hard but they were still good at english / writing. they kept diaries and would never be caught dead without some kind of notebook on their person.
homelife wasn’t much better. it wasn’t a bad upbringing whatsoever and yuri loves their siblings with everything they’ve got but their parents were traditionalists and, later, going through a messy divorce which put a wrench in their comfortably middle class existence.
cheating and fighting put a really damper on how yuri viewed love and relationships which will come into play later
as if the divorce weren’t enough, things were only made more difficult when they finally decided that their gender identity was more of a question mark than anything else around that same time, leading to some harmful associations
they already kind of blamed themselves for their parents’ disagreements. they felt like their eccentricity was causing a rift and so they went through a period immediately after the divorce was finalized where they just kept their realization a secret
coming out to their parents was the bravest thing they’d ever done and, thankfully, despite all the confusion they were more accepted than they thought they would be. their siblings were a super big part of why it all went well it but that’s why we love and support the kim fam
so were yuri’s bffs.
still, the divorce was hard. being a hopeless romantic before the whole split, yuri took a 180 and became scared of love. they saw how it could hurt. how it could break up families and be thrown away for nights of physical pleasure. they saw how it could make children doubt themselves and how it made grown adults cry. they didn’t think they’d ever fall in love.
and yet... they were already falling. it was such a slow gradual thing, falling in love with one of their best friends. they’d been there all along, through thick and thin -- both friends had -- but the spark of something more quickly turned into a fire once they both started opening up to the ideas.
that’s not to say that it was easy. yuri denied it for a long while, rejected a few desperate suitors throughout college and used that angst and insecurity in their writing. they developed an even stronger passion for the written word -- mostly poetry but sometimes other forms of prose.
(in fact, the place where they’ve found their most confidence is actually in poetry houses but i digress)
finally, RECENTLY! they’re finally giving their feelings a chance. i like to imagine muse 6c asked them out but that’ll be plotted later.
personality and important points bc i need to wrap things up better -- STILL A SHY LITTLE SWEETHEART but an emphasis on the sweet. occasionally stutters but is going to speech therapy and has medication for anxiety. has a dog that isn’t technically a therapy dog but might as well be one for all that comfort and support aw they’re a freelance writer and blogger and run a fairly popular forum for lgbt youths called ‘question mark’.
they’re in love love and it’s somehow made them even more soft. their partner is helping them branch out, try new things, make new friends etc. but onto the plot ideas!
