I can't imagine how close the Soos were, to the point both of Soo Hyuk and Jung Soo chose to die instead of Rok soo.
I mean, my own blood related family wouldn't choose to die for me. Humans are selfish, but both Soo Hyuk and Jung Soo chose to die and save Rok Soo. They didn't want the man they considered as their little brother to die, so they chose to die for him.

I just realized that if Sui Khan was 13 years old now, then that means Lee Soo Hyuk would have been dead 14-ish years ago.
So the tragedy that decimated Team 1 happened when Kim Rok Soo was (36+2-14=)24 years old.
He was just 24 years old when he lost his second family. He was just 24 when he had to succeed as a Team Leader. He was just 24 when people called him "cold-blooded" for daring not to cry while praising his abilities.
At 20, the Cataclysm happened.
At 21, Kim Rok Soo experienced something the God of Despair deemed his "greatest" despair: the destruction of his shelter and the first appearance of an unranked monster.
Three years later, at 24, Kim Rok Soo prophesized the appearance of the second-strongest unranked monster in history, and then had to survive the attack that killed everyone he loved.

Soooo I wrote a poem.
Originally I was going to write a crack poem on Cale and his slacker life... but somehow it ended up as soos angst 😅
The Record of Them
He replays.
The laughter and joy of a time long gone.
Of a hand holding onto his,
Of a hug, keeping him safe.
And he replays it all over again,
Like a broken record.
Because he can't seem to let go,
Because they were all he ever had.
In a new world, in a new place,
In a new body,
Among his new family,
He replays.
Of the clash of sword against monster skin,
Of pools of blood,
And eyes that never opened again.
And he could never forget.
The warmth he felt,
The love they taught,
Every memory, crystal clear.
He regrets, and he replays it all over again.

hello it’s 2am here and I’m running on 2 hours of sleep since yesterday but I suddenly remembered my old brainrots about Cale adopting baby Sui (back when I was waiting for lcf s2)
honestly I might as well make a fic where cale just raises baby sui like he’s his father. I can’t stand the fact I was robbed of the opportunity of seeing cale spoiling baby sui and raising him into the happiest baby reincarnator ever. Also I used to think Sui would be a baby vampire so yk. It gave me ideas.
like, I wanted to see Cale being the one to protect Sui khan this time. The canon reunion was so good, like, Sui finding Cale just like how lsh found krs in the debris, flying to Roan the instant he got his memories. And kimcale recognizing his team leader instantly like it’s natural. The awkward but very warm atmosphere between them after the reunion, it all made me the happiest reader on earth.
but I can’t seem to give up on my old brainrots. They were what kept me alive throughout the seven months of college entrance exams where I had no source of happiness except for my fics and brainrots. So I’ll bring this back to life eventually.
yes, I’m sleepy and idk what I’m writing. The art is messy and I haven’t even colored it properly yet but I don’t think I’ll finish it anytime soon so-. The new semester will apparently start in few days and I’m mentally not prepared yet.
