Author's notes: Hello!! I am back to writing after a very stressful and disappointing exam season. I hope you enjoy this short piece, part 2 will be uploaded hopefully within the next week or two. Not proof read btw

The visions hunt decree seemed to have an impact on the Nation Of Eternity. Many had lost their lives, and some even suffered a relatively worse fate than that. You had seen countless people’s visions taken from them, and the lifelessness in their eyes were like knives through your heart. Citizens cowered in fear daily, praying that they weren’t next.

“Love, I’m going out to get some groceries, do you want to come?” Your lover called from the living room, ready to head out of the door. You declined with a smile, explaining that you still had a few assignments / reports to finish up. Scribbling away on the piece of parchment, a sudden sinking feeling settled in the bottom of your stomach. You ignored it, brushing it off as a side effect of eating too much hotpot yesterday, even though you usually didn’t experience this.

The gradual increase in the sounds of rain prompted you to halt your work for awhile, instead opting to take a break by eating a snack. The world outside the window seemed to blur as you spaced out, mindlessly munching on the snack you chose. Subconscious thoughts about Thoma also managed to drift into your mind. “I wonder if he’s already finished”. Realising this, you smiled to yourself. “He somehow manages to appear in my mind even in his absence.” You must have saved the world in your previous life to deserve a boyfriend like him. Just as you were getting lost in your thoughts, there was a sudden, sharp knock at your door. You weren’t expecting any visitors today, were you? “Maybe Thoma came back early” you thought, making your way towards the front door, expecting to see your blond lover outside with hands filled with groceries and a bright smile on his face. Instead, your heart dropped to your feet when your eyes met the ones of a shogunate infantry. Three of them, to be more precise.

“Excuse me, is there something wrong?” you were thankful that your voice came out steady, successfully masking your nervousness. Anxiety levels shot up to the roof when the one in the middle pulled out a piece of parchment, which you assumed was not going to lead to something good. “Under the vision hunt decree, we are here to seize Thoma’s pyro vision.” No. This couldn’t be happening. You’ve seen how those people who got their vision seized turned out. The joy and liveliness in their eyes that were once prominent and noticeable fizzled out like a dying spark. The change may not seem so drastic to people who have only heard of what it’s like, but to those who have witnessed their loved ones go through this… you couldn’t let this happen to Thoma. You would much rather sacrifice yourself for him ten to watch him turn into an empty shell of what he was before. That was when it hit you.

“This is not a request, (mr / miss / mx) -” the infantry’s booming voice was abruptly interrupted by your own. “I-I’ll hand over my vision instead.” barely choking the words out, you still managed to look them straight in the eye. The three men glanced at each other. After a painfully long silence, one of them said, “I guess that would be fine.” With trembling but sure hands, you unclasped the vision from your body and placed it into the hands of the infantry. When the whole ordeal was finally done and over with, you shut the door with a bang and slid onto the floor. Now self-doubting thoughts were swirling around in your head, "Was it really worth it?" "Yes. It was." you had to verbally affirm yourself to believe it. Just then, there was a knock at the door again. Did the infantries come back, demanding Thoma’s vision instead of yours? Meekly prying open the door to peek, you were relieved to see the emerald green eyes of your lover. “You’re back” “I’m happy to see you too, ___. Although you look slightly fatigued. Did something happen? Was your workload particularly heavy today?” Ah. How were you going to tell him?

Tensing up, you led him to the sofa without a word, gesturing for him to sit down beside you. The way you fidgeted with your hands with a distressed expression alerted Thoma that something was not quite right. Something happened while he was getting groceries. While you were determining how to break the news to him, his eyes scanned your figure to see if he could find any physical signs that would give him a clue as to what had occurred. His eyes widened when he noticed that your vision was not attached to your body.

“Sunshine, where did your vision go…?”

literally have not felt any joy after 2pm in 3 days someone please fucking help me

this chart is by @prochara on twt i very much agree with its rating of pure main weapon power barring sub and special synergy. heres my comprehensive balancing ideas for everything. this list is noted to account for map design, which is why eliter is so high. my ideal is to make everything at about the "slightly weaker tier", so everything above will be generally slightly nerfed as i believe overky powerful weapons turn the gane very stalemated. this first of a series of posts will focus in nerfs. without further ado

fuckin beef cake supremes

squeezer: i would nerf squeezer by reducing the ink efficiency of its tap shots, reducing ever so slightly the max fire rate, and making a small range nerf, where it stlli out ranges everyrhing except jet squelcher but less so. i believe this to be the most undeniabley superior main weapon, where it has every good shooyer quality and then stats that are better than all of them with kill yime and range, i believe the balance is way ivercompensating for the awkward tap fire of its precision shots, and it should be tined back like this

eliter: i would just fix the godawful ekiter heaven maps rn, mire paths more flanks more cover, and give eliter a slap on the wrist, a bit more ink recovery lag (ie heavier weapons tend tot ake longer to begin their ink recovery reloading)

splatana wiper: the main thing is its absurd onject damage multipliers really put this weapons power over the top, and i validate brellas severely. i would reduce these multipliers by a decent amount, and also just slightly reduce its charge slash range because its nutty that it can outrange dualie squelchers when its so mobile it can function as an honest to god melee weapon. also id SLIGHTLY reduce strafe speed, but id make it so strafe speed can be affected by run speed gear. a pure wi get you back to its original run speed, and the falloff wi be harsh. runnung only run speed will make u barely faster so that. this is to introduce a skight bit more of gesr dependency for this extremely consistent weapon. also slight ink efficiency nerf

nutty bitches

splash o matic, .52 gal, splatter shot, n-zap: i actually like the power kevel of all these and dont want to take away the fun of them. this is a little wrist slaopy but will help keeo these mobile powerhouses from being too oppressive, namely give them small ink efficiency nerfs (higher ink cost per bullet) and make their damage fall off a little worse (so that its harder to take advantage of arc shots or high ground or just tryinf to extend your range like they did excessively to my beloved GLOOGA)

trislosher: tbh i think tri slosher is perfect how it is now, id give it a skight fall off damage nerf for slap on the wrist sake, but thats its specialty so the nerf would be even smaller than the one for the shooters

mini splatling: i feel similarly about mini splat to trislosh, maybe just a slight increase in ink recovery lag so it doesnt feel too oppressive against the nerfed shooters

splat charger: its only strong for similar reasons to eliter, bur it can get a slap on the wrist for ink recovery lag why not

tetra dualies: i love tetra dualies :( i think its at the power level i think wiper should be at, but id anything id say actually a fair bit percent worse falloff cos if GLOOGA has to suffer than then this high pressure menace should have to struggle a bit more to kill over ledges

dualie squelchers: honestly i think these were rated a bit too high, i wouldnt change anything, its jump tech is a little unfair but its cool and makes sense

splatana stamper: this bitch scares me but is so cool. id say jsut a bit of an ink efficiency nerf, its crazy longevitous for a heavy weapon. it shoukd run out faster and also have its object damsge multipliers reduced alittle bit. also skightly lower strafe speed but you can now boost it with run speed up, and it takes less run soeed up to surpass the original strafe speed, and is skightly more notable of a boost

additional notes

everything in the slightly weaker class is about what i think is a fun and fair power level, but i have a few fairly neutral changes id make for just a few

ink brush: no nerf, but like the solatanas, i feel its a big missed opportunity for fun to make it boostable in run speed. the max boost should be very slight so that people cant move way too fast too easily, but i think if you run oure run soeed on ink brush there should be some reward :)

splat dualies: it was always weird to me dualie squelchers is the only dualie to get the roll slide thing, it seems like such a strange way if maing its mobility superior. i get its supposed to be like a shooter dualie hybrid, but i think the othe rmire basical dualies should have a bit fia roll sldie too, so splat dualies will be one of the ones receiving this slight betterment to its mobility :)

29ish hours? I stayed up one day to chat with a person who lived in Australia, wound up having to go to the store with my mom around 8 to get school clothes and crashed when we got back home about noon/one o’clock.

Though this month should raise that up higher given I have to be up for my exams starting at 9, stay up to catch my early morning flight the next day and stay up to catch my transfer flight and then keep staying up so I don’t crash through dinner and wake up at like one in the morning, like someone with jet lag. (Bermuda and Halifax are literally in the same time zone, I cannot do this to myself)

Yes. It stretches shortly on my forearm. I got it from an iron burn when I was about 12, I think?

I think so?? If that’s what you’d call whoever keeps sending me those really sweet anons. :D

I’d like to think so.

I can do a semi-decent Irish/Scottish accent from my years of obsessively watching Ronan Inish and a thicker, more prominent Bermudian accent, like what my granny or teachers would have.

I don’t personally think I have an accent. My mom is deaf, my dad is American and the kids and family I grew up around never really used the thick version of a Bermudian accent.

I don’t know. I don’t think I have one? Mostly other accents are just the way people talk and if anything, just amuse me. Like for example, my friend’s Bahamian accent kills me, especially when she starts chatting with her friends from Nassau and their accents start rolling out super thick to the point where you gotta really pay attention to zero in on their words.

But, in Bermuda you’re taught by literally anyone so accents are just?? a thing that exist. I don’t have a favourite.

MBTI wise, a split between INTJ & INTP. Other types? IDK.

PFT, prolly my shoes? I don’t really buy clothes. Though if my cousin’s coat no longer fits by the time the cold really hits and I need to use it, it’ll probably be a winter coat.

Pft, 7 to 15 minutes to shower on average (depends on if I’m washing my hair or not), fives minutes for face and teeth, five minutes to dress and like three hours to actually get up to get ready. :P

I try very hard not to.

I used to when I was younger. Still do sometimes.

I used to and then I realized that a) my self-improvised songs are terrible and b) I can’t sing.

My mom is deaf. My dad has hearing difficulties. My papa’s singing voice is a wail and my granny’s is shrill sadness.

Demon clowns. Dying alone. Being alone forever. Not getting to say the things I want to say to people. That I’ll crash and burn before I graduate or sometime soon after.

I dunno. The most dramatic movies I can remember tend to be war films based on true stories and I normally check out during that kind of stuff because thinking about the horrors of history and the fact that people suffered and died at the hands of people who still objectively exists freaks me out, sends me into a pit of misery until I combust within myself.

No preference for other people, short hair preference for myself. Currently, I’m growing it out so my friend can braid it then I’m gonna chop it back off when I get home in May.

If an American can’t do that, then what makes you think me, a Bermudian who’s only concern with the US is how it will affect me and my country and literally was over-relieved when I got dropped from a US history class, would ever know that.

Lots of things. I’m very prone to anger. It’s why the Hulk/Bruce Banner was my favourite superhero as a kid and still is.

Yes! I do actually really like my name, which sucks because sometimes I get upset or uncomfortable when people refer to me by it and why I like it when people call me Jay, but otherwise my birth name is just beautiful and I don’t think I’d ever be able to give it up.

That being said, I super love the name Jay and when I finally move out of my house and away from Bermuda, I want to try using it more socially rather than just online.

I don’t want babies.

I write well, I can speak well and my pale as fuck skin doesn’t let people realize I’m mixed race so, like my friends point out, I get to skirt around the world, practically invisible and I like to work.

Procrastination, tendency to misery over small mistakes, tendency to blow up small things into large problems, tendency to feel abandoned by people who are not abandoning me, inability to properly fall asleep when I feel a lack of affection and touch in my life, inability to listen to people when they ramble on about things I don’t care about, inability to be upfront with how I feel towards my friends and how I feel they’re treating me, etc, etc, etc.

With my birthname, my mom picked it out from a book, I think?

With my preferred name,I was reading a book about a trans man called “I Am J” and when I got prompted about my name by a friend online, the name just popped into my head, felt immediately right and I used it and connected to it right away.

I mean I doubt it but I WILL NEVER KNOW.
