princess aesthetics

So, I was watching a movie the other day and I was struck with the thought- The Winter Palace where the Russian Imperial family resided looks VERY similar to the Emerald Palace...Just me? Keep reading.

First off the bat is this green exterior of the palace with the slight gold decorations. Does that color look oddly familiar to you?

I think if you replaced these black pillars with white, you could see an uncanny resemblance to the ones you can see decorating and holding up the palace near the gardens.

These stairways are extremely grand, pompous even, and they reminded me of the one she came down from during her debutante. Still just me? Continuing on.

The audience room with the throne, doesn’t look familiar because of all the hanging chandeliers too close to the pillars, however if we replaced them with smaller ones and lit them, this scene would be extremely familiar if we filled it with some people dressed very well and a very familiar emperor sitting there- (or shall I say, empress?)

A main throne room, if we took away the portrait and made the dais much taller, removing the pillars as well, make the ceiling higher, and with no portrait but with a hidden room behind some royal purple curtains?

We’ve never seen the vaults for the Obelian family, however I imagine they would look similar to this, perhaps less gaudy without the statues guarding the sides (or if they did, they’d be smaller, a singular animal for both sides would be sufficient) but the gold would be very accurate especially for doors guarding the vaults(in a less public place of course).

An arched ceiling for an entrance to a church, delicate gold and angel statues that are more realistic in proportions as compared to say, cherubs, and red which is symbolic to religion or royalty as they usually make capes/mantles that are a deep red. As I imagine the Obelian Empire has a shared faith of some type of religion, the Imperial family should have access to a church that’s built someplace near their grounds as they wouldn’t go to the public churches that are scattered throughout the empire and other countries within it.

Anywaysssss, that’s the end of the aesthetics, hope that was enjoyable (and my ramblings included ehe).

Diana: beautiful roses carved out of pink gems, lightning bugs flickering in and out of bushes, fragrant rose tea in pale porcelain, bright pearls braided through hair, gentle hugs that are reminiscent of what love used to be.

Anastasius: the moon reflecting off a mirror, the snap of a chocolate bar, dark smoke rising up from a fire, the choking wrath in one's chest with fake smiles, a flask of whiskey that burns in the throat.

Roger: the cold gleam of gold, a shot of bourbon in black coffee at breakfast, glass crystal chandeliers dark and cold, handshakes that try to be strong and fail, the curling of fists in fabric.

Penelope: the clank of expensive wine bottles, red lipstick that comes away on skin to skin contact, screams in the dead of night, the swish of silk against bare legs, whipping open a feathered fan to hide a smirk.

cause I fell down the rabbit hole while researching Imperial families especially the Russian one for well.. writing? (Imma keep that hush hush though aha) and wanted to share~

Athanasia: Tsarevich which was given to the Empress as a gift. (It was this or the Kelch Chanticleer but I chose this because the other one was given as a gift by an industrialist to his wife- he wasn’t royalty so I was like nah- also that one had a chicken on the top..it may be diamond studded but still..not cool..)

Claude: Blue Serpent Clock (nuff said? I mean? Look at it? Then Claude?)

Diana: Duchess of Marlborough (Diana=pink and gold perfection, need I say anymore??? Although this might have worked for Athy too but I wanted hers to be more Empress like)

Felix: Nobel Ice (before you say it’s plain compared to the others: I think this is the prettiest because of its snowflake design like ahhh look at how elegant it is!?)

Lilian: Basket of Flowers (there was a lily only version but flowers have thorns too, right?)

Ijekiel: Imperial Coronation (fittingly this should’ve been for Athy or Claude buttttt look at the gold!!! I’m a sucker for his eyes whoops)

Lucas: the Rosebud (there was one called the Hen which had a deeper red color but I feel like Lucas-lovers would have tackled me for putting that cause of the name lmao)

Jennette: Kelch Rocaille

Anastasius: Third Imperial

Below are other designs that didn’t quite fit what I had in mind for Athy and Claude’s and were passed over.

Of course, Faberge has come back to life with new designs in recent years(like the one with pearls or the GOT version) but I’ve chosen to put ones that were originally out of the 50 that were commissioned during the rule of the Emperor.

"But the villain would throw them down into Tartarus if she were to get hurt, and if she were to die- he would burn the whole world and let crimson flames dance in his eyes whilst holding her body in his arms before he followed her to the skies."

Thus, I would say both Ijekiel and Lucas(him especially) are villain type MLs at the core.

Everybody else, looking at him, knowing full well that was NOT the way to ask the daughter you miss to stay, and thinking that he's the scum of the earth and when his memories come back he'll want to strangle himself for traumatizing her not once not twice but multiple times, but at the very least he didn't threaten to kill Lily in order to bring her back: ...Yeah...sure...
