Hi as a white-coded mixed native person with a few alters of races outside my own I wanted to say that i really appreciate your information on the subject, it’s been very helpful to us and not something we are keen on talking about w other systems of color due to our privilege of being light skinned/white passing/coded. We have learned a lot from you, and were we in a place to drop a donation we absolutely would. Unfortunately times are tough, but thank you for going through the emotional effort of educating other people. I think a lot of white ppl esp take that shit for granted and don’t understand the amount of effort and even frustration that goes into it on top of experiencing racism daily in a white-dominated culture (if ur living in most parts of what’s considered the west anyway). I’m always happy to talk about this kind of thing, it’s a tough balance between like. I don’t think people need to self-flagellate in shame about it, because it is something that is outside of our control, but also it is important to be aware of the influences to our actions and thoughts, and that extends to parts of self. I think that it’s important to have everybody in conversation about it, because it’s important for everybody to recognize their place in the greater system of white supremacy, I just wish people would recognize that there are times and places where different conversations are appropriate. I don’t think that white people should stay 100% out of any topics of race (for example, it’s important for white folks to check themselves and their white friends for racism, talk about how they can improve and change and dismantle systems of oppression, and I think it’s important for white allies to be there to learn), I just wish they’d stop speaking as an authority on racism when they’re perpetuating it.

I know from friends that Native identity is very complex, and I can’t speak at all on that, but I’m sending good self-love vibes your way.

No worries at all about donations or anything, times are 10x harder for basically everybody right now.
