I wonder how much significance we can ascribe to the fact that Peter’s still wearing his Ravager reds in Vol. 2. Yes, the flame patch has been removed, but those leathers would be pretty distinctive among the empires, and he would know that. We don’t get any indication that the Guardians are bankrupt, so it’s not out of thrift. If he wanted to make a truly clean break, he probably could’ve found some other badass leather trench to enhance his Starlordiness. The fact that he didn’t - well, maybe he knew the Ravagers and Yondu would always be a part of him, and maybe it was a small concession to the part of him that missed them.

I don’t have any particularly deep meta to go with this observation - I just like it as a costume design choice, that the production crew decided to maintain that visual connection to the Ravagers and therefore to Yondu, even as Peter moves on with the Guardians as his new family.
