- she had spent hours in the lab with howard. trying to work out how the bloody hell the tesseract worked. the stress began to grow on them both.

once howard removed himself from the room, peggy waiting for him, running her hands through her hair, stressing over this whole ordeal.

as the tesseract started to create strange noises, peggy turned to look at it, frowning and slowly stepping over. a hit of light hit her, before she could even reach the tesseract. raising her arm quickly to shield herself, falling to the ground in a heap.

❝ howard !!! ❞

peggy shouted out as she removed her arm from it's shielding position. only to see that she wasn't in the s.h.i.e.l.d lab anymore, but now in some apartment.

a deep frown grew on her face as she got back onto her feet. quickly turning her head around to get a proper look at the apartment, before making her way around the room.

she placed her rifle down beside her, kneeling down in front of the billionaire, tilting her head to the side as she tried to gain his attention. took them long enough to break into the damn base and she sure in hell wasn't going to leave him behind.

-- his face reminded her so much of howard. even though, in peggy's opinion, he was a wanker. she still cared for that man, he was one of her closest friends and ever since he passed. peggy felt it was her duty to protect his son at all costs.
