Update to my blog. Not dead. And will be posting art real soon (as soon as tomorrow). I’m thinking of posting, maybe 4 artworks in a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.

These days will be dubbed as follows: Fanart Monday, Abstract Wednesday, Fable Friday, Sci-Fi (Star Trek? 🤔) Sunday. This is mostly for me but also just a general idea on the artworks I’ll be posting on which days.

I’ve got lots of fanart on my roster for Mondays and if I’m being honest, Sunday is technically a fanart day as well, but specifically focused on the spacey portion of my fandom interests (Star Trek (DS9, TOS, SNW, etc), Stargate (movie, sg1)).

Abstract Wednesday will be uploads of my latest abstract work! Cause those are fun to make and I love colors. 😝 playful day.

And for Fable Fridays, those will follow any of my original stories, which tend to center around mythologies and legends. Currently Albion, and another one on my roster recently is a work surrounding the tale of Iolaus. There are a few other works but I wager those concepts will come a bit later. With the addition of the random fairy tale or concept idea.

PS. Requests and suggestions for Star Trek art are welcome. I can’t say for sure they’ll be fulfilled but I’d love to hear any ideas you’d like to see. ☺️

I began quilting in the 1990s. I have handquilted about 60 sci-fi quilts. It has been many years of trial and error. I was never very good at following quilting patterns. My favorite pattern is the disappearing nine patch. I use it a lot in my quilts. My blocks were never perfect. In fact , I’m most certain every quilt I have made has a mistake or two. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes, I look at the mistake as adding character and artistic deviations to my quilts. :) A quilt doesn’t have to be a complicated design . My first quilt was an appliqué Star Trek baby quilt. It was simple by quilting standards. I worked so hard on it. It took months to finish but I was incredibly proud. As I was learning to quilt, I secretly hoped to make something fancy and worthy of an art show one day. FYI, A little more than 30 years later, I have never entered any of my quilts into an art show. I quilt for me. I quilt to give one of a kind quilts to friends and family…and the occasional acquaintance on the internet. Maybe one day, one of my quilts will make it to outer space. How glorious would that be? Peace to you and yours.

did you know that in one of dorm epel's voicelines he mentions he once got lost in pomefiore and ended up in a creepy basement. it's never mentioned again or given any clarification and i think about it every day

that comes up a couple of times actually! there's just like...a weird creepy dungeon slash old alchemy lab that the Pomefiore castle was built on top of. I think Vil might use it sometimes? but really it serves absolutely no purpose beyond the characters every once in a while being like "oh yeah, there's that secret underground laboratory we all apparently know about" and then never elaborating on it at all.

(I know it's a movie reference, but it's still pretty wild to just. in-universe have a not-so-secret basement alchemy dungeon that never has any relevance beyond a couple of throwaway lines. what other buckwild secrets does NRC hold that the characters just never talk about for some reason)

David is finished!

This is a charcoal base and then pastel pencils over the top. It's on the really good Sennelier paper, which I don't use often. It takes a lot of layers but if you work it too much the scratchiness starts to come off.

I still have Rachel Luttrell and David Nykl to do, amongst others. But I find out what plans for more chemo etc there are on Thursday... I'm not compromising on Basingstoke, though! I'm going and that's that!
