This is one of the greatest things ever. Walk around every single version of the U.S.S. Enterprise in photorealistic 3D in your browser, from the Roddenberry Archive. On a phone you just see wraparound 3D pics. On a PC or laptop you get the full 3D interactive experience. They NEED to make this VR compatible, it'll be beyond words.
There are more Enterprises here than Tumblr will allow me photos of, and more will likely be added.
Tumblr media
Here's the TOS Enterprise, which appears in several incarnations ("The Cage", "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and TOS proper as well as TAS with the second turbolift!), has the correct original graphics and is perfect.
Tumblr media
This is the bridge from the unmade Star Trek: Phase II series (whose pilot episode "In Thy Image" was rewritten to become Star Trek: The Motion Picture), with it's legendary big comfy command sofa seat and tactical display bubble!
Tumblr media
The Motion Picture, such an accurate recreation that there's even a very faint flicker on the rear-projection animated screens as seen in the movie.
Tumblr media
Enterprise NX-01, looking exactly as it did in "Broken Bow"
Tumblr media
Recognise this? It's the briefing room of Discovery season 2's version of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. Although at the front of the saucer on the "real" ship, here it's off the second bridge door which may well be where the set was IRL.
Tumblr media
I wasn't expecting modern Trek to be represented equally as the originals in this project, but it is. This is the Enterprise from Strange New Worlds, with Pike's Ready Room located just off the bridge.
Tumblr media
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. My favourite version of the classic bridge, as a kid I drew all these control panels and stuck them on my bedroom walls. And now I can look around and look at them all close-up! They've even replicated the noticable TVs stuffed into the panels for the more complex animated screens.
Tumblr media
The Enterprise-C bridge from "Yesterday's Enterprise". This one has always fascinated me, being a low-budget TV set (formerly the Enterprise-D battle bridge, originally built from the rain-damaged TMP set's back wall and redressed endlessly though TNG) representing TNG's immediate predecessor. In the episode they mostly shoot the back wall and imply the consoles make a huge circle, but here you can see the set's real dimensions and the weirdness of the classic movie helm/nav console in front of the TNG con/ops panels. I love it.
Tumblr media
You know how much I love the Kelvin movies, so seeing this was amazing. For some reason the consoles don't have their screens lit (hopefully this'll be fixed soon), but you can see the saucer under the window and it's shiny and amazing.
Tumblr media
The last thing I expected was the U.S.S. Titan-A/Enterprise-G bridge, but it's here. And the lights are on.
Other bridges available to explore which I'm out of pictures to show: The Enterprise-D (of course), Enterprise XCV-330 (the ringship, based on concept art for the unmade non-Trek series "Starship"), the Planet of the Titans U.S.S. Enterprise (again, based on concept art for a cool multi-levelled set) and the "launch" U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (based on the very first piece of TOS bridge set concept art), the Enterprise-E, the Enterprise-F (seen on viewscreen for all of 2 minutes in Picard) and the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656!
Take a bow lads, you've done good. Now just add VR support!
That link again.

I've seen few dreamling Star Trek AUs, but I keep thinking about canon dreamling in the Starfleet era future.
The moment humanity makes first contact, Hob Gadling obvioulsy makes it his next goal to get up there and start exploring as soon as possible. New Frontiers! New species! New experiences!
Which great. He's good enough at being just the most normal (surprisingly lucky and durable) red shirt, just there, doing his job. Nothing weird to see here, no sir. Too bad that he managed to get a job at the Enterprise, the galaxy's most ridiculous incident prone ship. And as the Enterprise incidents(TM) keep happening, so does the niggling feeling that there's something fucking funky going on with Ensign Gadling. he has....a very surprising range of skills and knowledge. And that boyfriend of his...is always there when they have shore-leave, no matter how implausible it would be for him to travel the distances with the speed he does with Federation spacecraft. Nobody can sus out what his job is, but it has to be some very high level federation one for his and Gadling's shore-leave's always to align.
But the most disturbing thing about the boyfriend(TM) is how the first glimpse any of the crew gets of him is always always just a bit fucked up.
For a second, before he blinks and realises that that is just Gadling and his partner sitting down on a spaceport café, Spock could have sworn that sitting across the man was Run S'haile made flesh, appearance just like the statues now gathering dust in Vulcan ancient history museums. And the andorian officer could have sworn that for a blink there she saw the Sparkling King of All Fantasies walking hand in hand with Ensign Gadling, before the image settled to two humans walking side by side. And one calm night a tellarite engineer spots ensign Gadling snuggling and star-gazing by one of the ship windows with The Great Nightmare Beast of Sleeping Terrors and decides to get the fuck back to her own quarters and try to never think of it again.
And it really doesn't help that while your average sentients aren't anymore impressed by Gadling than the agressively boring and normal man warrants, it has been more than once that the Cosmic Entity With Unimaginable Powers of the week has gotten suspiciously polite when Gadling enters the scene.
In a normal Starfleet ship Gadling might be able to fly under radar, but USS Enterprise is not a normal ship and the crew is starting to get the heebie jeebies...

One of the things I really appreciate in Picard S3 is how the season slowly gave back Voyager to Seven. I get why they didn't in season 1 of Picard and only mentioned Voyager and her Voyager family obliquely -- Seven barely knew the people in La Sirena, and there's no impetus for her to share. The subtlest of nods was a good way to kick it off.
Season 2 has willingly said Janeway's name to Raffi and the context of why she wasn't in Starfleet.
By season 3, Seven is surrounded by the spirit of her old family. The best visual indicator of it all was the silver Voyager Model Seven kept prominently on a shelf in the anteroom of her quarters.
Tumblr media
From BTS we also see Tuvok has the same one, and from this, we can infer all Voyager crew have their own models. (I would give them real money if they would sell that Voyager model too!).
It also means wherever Seven was all through the years with the Fenris Rangers Seven carried this tiny Voyager ship around.
In Prodigy Vice-Admiral Janeway has her own Voyager model, but of course, she's not going to be satisfied with a tiny model.
Tumblr media
Keeping Jellico in the photo for the Voyager scale.
And of course, the scene in the Fleet Museum:
Tumblr media
Featuring the Grand Old Lady herself, USS Voyager. (Hello, Voyager!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ends with a proper reunion with Tuvok, the only person other than Janeway who was there for Seven since the beginning:
Tumblr media
I missed seeing them together -- and look at both of them now, in Command Red.
Janeway was the only missing element with an unfortunate thing of production and time getting in the way of Kate Mulgrew being around, as I understand it, she splits her time living in Ireland and the US (I could be wrong!) -- it's also one of the reasons I dearly hope we get a new show with Seven as the main lead. Because I selfishly want Janeway to appear and possibly give Seven her Captain's pins.
I know Jonathan Frakes expressed his wish that Riker be the one to hand out assignments to Seven, and it would make sense if he becomes a newly minted Vice-Admiral. Since Janeway might be higher up in the Command chain at this point.
But I still want Janeway to be the one handing out crucial assignments to Seven and the Ent-G.
So, yeah I hope we get that show but also I'm really glad this season finally brought Voyager back to Seven. It was her home.

Spones Day 2023 fic
Canon divergent universe where TMP never happened. Takes place a few years before TWOK (but if TWOK happens is in the stars). Kirk has retired from Starfleet (just so you’re not confused), because I like that tidbit from Generations.
#McCoy didn’t know they were dating #first kiss #strangely proactive Spock
~1000 words. | G
---
The door to the Transporter Beam-up Center opened, and mixed groups of various species started to come out. McCoy moved to the side to not stand in their way, his eyes scanning the crowd for Spock’s familiar face. It was a few minutes before he heard, “Doctor McCoy.”
McCoy startled. “I need to buy you a cowbell.”
Spock lifted an eyebrow at him. “You’ve been saying that for years, Doctor, and I’m still waiting.” He raised his hand, fingers spread in a Vulcan salute. “We meet again.”
McCoy blinked and looked at his hand. His third finger quivered as he tried to connect it with the fourth one, hoping to form a V, but with no success. He gave up, shaking his fingers a bit, relieving the slight pain in his ring finger. One day, one day, he would succeed.
Spock held out his hand, the corner of his mouth twitching in amusement.
McCoy glared at him. “You could’ve done it from the beginning.” He clasped Spock’s hand, soaking in the warmth he hadn’t felt for three months. “How was the trip?” He let go.
“Commanding a ship full of cadets on their training voyage is hardly a trip, Doctor.”
“You visited Vulcan before that, didn’t you?”
Spock gave a stiff nod. “Sarek sends his regards.” He beckoned toward the exit. “Shall we?”
Spock led him to a nearby restaurant.
Even after three years, it still felt odd whenever Spock invited him out. Sometimes to a science or technical museum, sometimes to a restaurant, sometimes to an arboretum. Just the two of them. If anyone had told him that ten years ago, five years ago, hell, even three years ago, he would scoff and tell them not to drink anymore. But Spock kept reaching out, and McCoy kept saying yes.
“Have you spoken to Jim recently?” McCoy asked after they ordered. He kept his eyes on the tabletop, not wanting to see Spock’s judging expression.
“Not since before my trip to Vulcan,” Spock said. “He acquired a dog.”
McCoy raised his head. “Jim has a dog?”
“His name is Butler.”
McCoy blinked.
“You would know that if you called him,” Spock said, his eyes piercing.
“Well…” McCoy wet his lips. “He could call me.”
“You informed him rather vehemently you didn’t want to see him unless he comes out of retirement.”
“You can’t tell me you think he can just live on a farm in Idaho and be happy.”
“That is not for us to judge.” Spock sipped his tea. “He appears to miss you.”
McCoy’s stomach did a funny flip. He reached for his glass of water and clasped it in both hands. His argument with Jim was ugly, and they hadn’t seen or talked to each other for two years.
“So, uhm…” he started but was saved by the waiter bringing their meals. The plates were placed, and McCoy grabbed the utensils. He should not think about Jim. Spock had always made it clear that they should resolve it themselves and did not wish to discuss it.
“It’s good to see you, Spock,” he said instead.
Spock smiled.
They dug into their meals.
“My father offered me to work with him and accompany him to Ensis,” Spock said between bites.
McCoy frowned. “You want to leave Starfleet?”
“It would not immediately come to that, but it is an option I am considering.”
First Jim. Now Spock. McCoy had stayed in San Francisco because he wanted to stay close to them. Then Jim left. He stayed because Spock would have someone welcoming him back whenever he left on a training voyage. He stayed because… because he…
He swallowed.
“I wanted to ask for… your opinion,” Spock said, his eyes focused somewhere behind McCoy’s shoulders.
“My opinion?” McCoy put down his utensils. He didn’t feel hungry anymore.
“I have… always appreciated your company, Doctor.” Spock frowned. “Leonard.”
McCoy's heart skipped. He didn’t remember the last time Spock used his name.
“In the last three years, perhaps before that, the appreciation evolved, changed.” Spock looked him in the eyes. “I do not enjoy the thought of not seeing you for months.”
McCoy didn’t know what to say. His mind was flying at warp speed. The almost realization a minute ago. Every time Spock invited him to go somewhere. Every time McCoy invited Spock to his apartment, sharing meals, cooking together. The soft brushes of their shoulders, as they passed each other in McCoy’s narrow kitchen. The soft brushes of the back of their hands, as they walked down the streets or halls of the museums. Spock’s fingers on his elbow, demanding his attention. So common, so frequent that he didn’t even notice them anymore.
“Are we dating, Spock?” McCoy blurted out.
“As there hasn’t been an official agreement, we are not.”
“Do you want to?” McCoy asked before he could think about it.
The tips of Spock’s ears darkened. “That was the matter I wanted to discuss today. In order to answer my father’s offer, I first needed an answer from you.”
“Why?”
“I have already told you. I would have… missed you.”
McCoy could not hold back his smile, his cheeks growing hot.
“If you did not answer positively, creating a physical distance between us would be a logical thing to do.”
“The distance wouldn’t help,” McCoy murmured.
“Perhaps.” Spock inclined his head. “But it appears we do not have to test it.”
“But your father –”
“My father is aware.”
McCoy opened his mouth and closed it. “You…” He wet his lips. “You talked about us with Sarek?” Us. There was an us.
“My father thinks highly of you,” Spock said. “Mother too. She’d like it if you accompanied me next time I visit Vulcan.”
McCoy blinked.
“You don’t have to give me an answer today.” Spock bit his lower lip. McCoy hadn’t seen that habit in years. “But I would like to kiss you.”
McCoy nodded, lost for words. His heart beat loud in his ears. He raised his hand.
Spock leaned across the table and pressed their lips together.

Who fumbled the trope better: The Rise of Skywalker or Picard Season 3? (long post by a hater)
1. Everyone's Related
- TRoS: retcons the story to make the protag someone's kid; it's a big reveal with little time to process; odd things are apparently genetic (like shooting lightning and being evil and goth); she rejects her heritage and chooses a different family, who are all dead; the emotional peak is a father ('s ghost) redeeming his wayward son; nepo kids get together, sorta; a claustrophobic sense of being trapped in the past and made intentionally inferior to the famous
- PIC S3: protag has had a secret kid this whole time; it's a big reveal with little time to process; odd things are apparently genetic (like bravery and accent); inconsistent with other legacy character's parental experiences (Geordi's daughters are second-tier characters who parallel Jack's rejection-acceptance-nepotism arc; Riker and Troi's kids are briefly but emotionally discussed; one emotional line about Wesley; one unemotional line about Lal; utter absence of Alexander); the emotional peak is a father redeeming his wayward son; as Picard's unqualified son and Geordi's qualified daughter get jobs on the bridge of Starfleet's flagship, Picard says, "Names mean almost nothing," and his son responds, "Names mean almost everything;" nepo kids get together, sorta; a mind-numbing sense of conservative family values and reassuring some very insecure people
2. Lesbian Queerbaiting
- TRoS: in the final celebration homage to RotJ, two minor characters kiss in the background; this spawned the "live slug reaction" meme that has now manifested as a homophobic inside joke in Jedi: Survivor
- PIC S3: Seven and Raffi got together in S2 and became Trek's first lesbian couple between two major characters (DISCO already gave us Trek's first major gay couple), but they broke up before the events of S3; they are coworkers in the end of S3, but are not back together because of...
3. Fear of Shippers
- TRoS: Finn is clearly into Rey, but it's unclear if she likes him back; Rey and Kylo kiss sans romantic music, but then he dies and she does not see his ghost; two more women are introduced to pair with Finn and Poe, but none of them get together either; it's unconfirmed, but the vibe is that they didn't want to commit to anything to try to please everyone
- PIC S3: the vibe is the same and it is confirmed:
Tumblr media
(by "that scene," he means Picard returning to Laris)
Both franchises also had a focus on an interracial relationship (Finnrey and Saffi), then have the Black person hang out mostly with another Black character (Jannah and Worf) while the white person hangs out with mostly white characters.
4. Bad Boy Braincontrol
- TRoS: somehow Palpatine returned, and he's been in Kylo's mind this whole time; that's why he's evil, not anything of his own free will, just the old story impressing itself upon him (he still has to die though); you know this villain, just defeat him with the power of love like you did last time
- PIC S3: somehow the Borg Queen returned, and she's been in Jack's mind this whole time; that's why he has intrusive thoughts, not because that's a thing that happens to people, just the old story impressing itself upon him; you know this villain, just defeat her with the power of love like you did last time
The visual similarities of Zombie Palpatine and Zombie Borg Queen are remarkable -- physically trapped in dusty corners by creepy machines -- and would be even more interesting if I could actually see them in these dark rooms. This design, which suggests an elderly person immobile in a hospital, actually makes me feel a lot of pity and affection for them. It certainly would have felt far more heroic to help these poor creatures than to rather easily defeat them.
5. We Love Objects
- TRoS: Kylo's private room is literally a museum with curated displays of old props; fetch quest video game-y plot; lots of attention paid to whose lightsaber does what and goes where
- PIC S3: let's break into the museum of old props; kitschy oil paintings of the Enterprise and Picard on the walls; the most unearned and half-hearted "long shots of beloved ship leaving space dock" sequence in a franchise full of such sequences

It brings me so much joy that Voyager is a cheesy museum. Imagine what all the other ships from the museum in Picard season 3 are like.... so much cheese. A robot Kirk that sits in the 1701-A chair and occasionally demands the ship go "thataway" as disinterested kids leave gum under Spock's console desk. A robot Uhura trying to recite Klingon from a pile of textbooks. Kids taking turns to press the fire button (clearly marked "mode select") at the helm as torpedo sound effects blare from speakers. Glorious.

Though Section 31 is the most well-known secret organization within the Federation, there is another, with its roots in ancient Earth...
Item #: SCP-54973
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-54973 is currently contained within a museum ship at the Fleet Museum at █████ █████. The sensor and security logs of the Fleet Museum are scanned for signs of SCP-54973-1 every two nanoseconds by a discreet Foundation algorithm. Upon detection of a SCP-54973-1 instance, Foundation fightercraft are to be dispatched and intercept the object before it can advance to warp. Intercepted instances are to be destroyed or tractored to Foundation storage facility at the discretion of the administrator of Deep Space Site-15.
Visitors to the museum should be forbidden access to the ship's ninth deck, under a cover story of performing required renovations. Should anyone but approved researchers, ESCPH units, and D-series synths enter deck 9, they are to be detained and evaluated for memetic contamination before release. The starship's renown with the general public prevents fuller containment at this time.
Description: SCP-54973 is the primary shuttlebay of the decommissioned ████████-class starship USS ███████, NCC-█████. Anomalous properties were discovered upon the ship's return from a seven year journey in the [redacted], and the current procedures implemented.
At regular intervals, SCP-54973 produces shuttlecraft. The process by which new shuttlecraft are created is as of yet unknown, as SCP-54973 produces false records in all sensor and recording equipment placed within itself during a production event. Shuttlecraft are designated SCP-54973-1. Since the starship ███████'s return from the [redacted] and the departure of its crew, SCP-54973-1 instances have begun autonomously launching themselves into space by a unknown process and attempting a rapid acceleration to warp.
SCP-54973-1 instances resemble baseline Starfleet shuttlecraft externally, but their interiors have been made from a variety of non-standard substances, including wood, bio-neural gel, humanoid biological components, and [DATA EXPUNGED].
While in service in the [redacted], SCP-54973 exerted a strong memetic effect on its crew. Logs indicate frequent statements that ███████ had "a full complement of shuttles" no matter their losses (in reality, the starship's ordinary complement of shuttles was exhausted a little over a year into their mission). Crew additionally expressed no alarm at the anomalous nature of the shuttlecraft, or at the appearance of non-standard designs such as the "█████ █████", believing they had been constructed by the crew, despite the implausibility of constructing experimental shuttle designs with a paucity of resources.
Addendum 54973-A: On Stardate █████.█, a SCP-54973-1 instance was not intercepted in time and accelerated to Warp ██. Its current whereabouts are unknown. All ships and starbases within the territory of the Federation, Klingon Empire, Romulan Free State and other post-nova remnant governments, Nyberrite Alliance, Dominion, and I██████ Empire received a transmission in an artificial voice resembling that of ███████'s former Captain, ███████ ███████:
"I'm coming, babies. I'm coming, I'm almost back babies, I'm -"
Transmission intercepted by Foundation assets in each government before wider exposure. Meaning of transmission remains unknown.
In light of SCP-54973-1's warp ██ capabilities, upgrade to Keter suggested and approved.

in case it isn't abundantly clear - janeway? hates the federation and starfleet and is constantly just like, 'i've elected that you've made a decision but given that it's a stupid ass decision i've decided to ignore it'. but she keeps her rank and continues to play the long game because she's good at it. playing politics and beaurocracy games are the closest things she can get to the action of the delta quadrant and she fucking loves it. she fights when they rip the future tech and borg tech from voyager to turn it into a museum. she fights for every member of her crew when it's required and will pull strings where and when she can. she's famous, she knows it, and she will use it as a weapon as needed. no one else matters to her as much as her crew.

While Liz navigates a series of Voyager-themed obstacles, Anika encounters an adorable creature who eats bones. Yes, it’s time for the season 4 premiere of Star Trek: Lower Decks, and we’re here to talk about…
“We’re not gonna do Tuvix Discourse.” We absolutely did Tuvix Discourse
Voyager as a museum, curation styles and fandom: Liz has a THESIS
Maybe the real Starfleet is the friends we made along the way
Friendship ended with Beckett/Jennifer, Tendi/T’Lyn is our best friend now
We’re going to do our very best to pretend to be shocked when it turns out that Beckett and Ransom have been a thing all season
We have NO IDEA who the mysterious new villain is, but we’re cautiously prepared to rule out Boba Fett
Liz has a recurring nightmare about bananas having bones, and, well. Ep 2 was very difficult for her.
We already know there won’t be Moopsy merch, but what if Paramount releases Moopsy merch?
Lower Decks is completely sincere (about Star Trek, about its characters) and that’s why it works
Editor’s note! Due to audio bleed, it was impossible to edit out all the overlaps and interruptions this week. Yikes, eh? Apologies for all the throat-clearing and overtalk and the whole thing where Anika is substantially louder than Liz…
