I love that it was Hoshi and Travis specifically who got namedropped in Those Old Scientists. Cuz if you make a list of things that Enterprise failed to give the time and attention to that deserved it, from people to plot points to cultures and beyond, those two are definitely DEFINITELY at the top of the list.

So the fact that in-universe, they're remembered so highly as to inspire people a hundred years later is VERY touching as a result, as if to say "they deserved better then, we can offer them something better now."

Okay, I've seen more than a few people accuse Chapel of coldly dumping Spock in front of a crowd and...did y'all miss how she had no choice?

Like Spock literally knew that topics of emotional intensity and repressed feelings were what set off the involuntary singing and then deliberately pressed Chapel on the topic? Even after she tried to get him to stop?

I know it would hurt in private or in public for Spock to hear from Chapel that she was breaking things off, but let's not pretend that how it went down was how Chapel would have handled that situation if she had the choice.
