propaganda: it's really atmospheric and spooky, the way that the inanimate dead poles of hay look like human figures, conducting some secret meeting on a november evening. it's not strictly an illustration to wyspiański's "Wesele", but you can see in this the same concept - of the gloomy nights between autumn and winter being a time when the mind becomes uneasy with its surroundings and when strange things happen

A thing about Polish culture
123 years ago a wedding between a peasant girl and known aristocratic writer took place. Why is this important? Because my blorbo Wyspiański decided to pull a fucking masterpiece inspired by the event.
The Wedding has everything: love, riot, violence, disappointment, fear, despair and indulgendce. If you ever attended a Polish wedding, you know exactly what this is about.

propaganda: I mean look at it. have you noticed that one of god’s hands is flesh while the other is bone? or how there is a big gaping hole in the middle, where god’s body should be, that his sleeves frame two sides of something that isn’t there? also, behind god there are waves and darkness. wyspiański chose to depict god the father by capturing the exact moment that he creates light! and when you walk into the unlit church’s interior, this massive stained glass figure is indeed the only bright thing in a completely dark upper gallery
