where's any post that talks about how boring it is that leafpool and squirrelflight got put on trial for literally doing what starclan told them to do? like "follow your heart leafpool" said feathertail i think, "here are these 3 twinkling stars in the sky of your future leafpool, they will bring you great joy but also beware, chaos lurks" said spottedleaf, "squirrelflight you cannot have kits of your own you should take leafpool's and tell everyone they're yours" said yellowfang. like what's the point here?
i know this has been said over and over again but there's no genuine good reason medicine cat's can't have kits? it's not even in the warrior code, and Moth Flight being like "i made that rule to spare you from the pain" ... like the pain of what? like my brother in christ!!! the only reason she suffered is because YOU made the fuckass rule!
and then Moth Flight being like "yeah her kits saved the clan (sort of) but I could have chosen any cats to save the clans (not really chief, i thought the powers weren't even from starclan) we're talking about leafpool breaking MY rule (she literally says it's her own rule) and the warrior code."
it really just makes me furious. thank god yellowfang was a little bit sensible, but where the hell is firestar in all of this? anyway assassinate that cat (Moth Flight)

AU where some of the Dark Forest warriors in the Great Battle choose to fight on the side of the Clans because they
--knew they messed up and want to make up for it
--weren’t ‘evil’ like cats like Tigerstar, but blinded by something that is now gone
--have kin they want to protect
It would have been nice to see the condemned as more three-dimensional. I mean, Starclan was going to condemn Leafpool and Squirrelflight, so there must have been at LEAST one cat in the DF that is actually super chill.
We see some of that in TBC which I really liked, so yay for that

On one hand, Leafpool’s death was masterful: a shock without being too unbelievable, a rather original way, and at a point in the story where it would make us hurt but not the plot.
On the other hand, seeing Leafpool be exiled as a codebreaker and then forced to cohabitate with Crowfeather in SHadowclan would have been quite funny.

Not a name suggestion, but why do I feel like Ranboo pulls a Squirrelflight in this au (aka refuses to die even thought he has a fatal wound)
Squirrrelflights hope spoilers btw
This gives off main character energy /hj
Maybe? I think Squirrelflight refused to die cause she had much more to do? I could see this with Ranboo wanting to live cause of his family and friends. I could also see Tubbo doing this as well imo.

I'm currently listening to the Squirrelflights Hope audiobook, and all I can think about is how these two need a cat divorce NOW.

is it just me or am i realizing how warrior cat women aren't allowed to hate. let me try to explain.
Squirrelflight isn't allowed to be written to hate Ashfur. in her novella, it's 'expected' for her to forgive and forget what Ashfur had done to her in the past (Squirrelflights novella is pre:TBC. so all Ashfur did was: Conspire to kill Firestar and threatened her and her kids lives.)
Hollyleaf also seems to have forgiven Ashfur in Starclan??? I don't...
Brightheart and Mistyfoot both aren't allowed to be angry at Bluestar. I believe later on both of them admire how great of a leader she was when she really wasn't-expecially towards Brightheart.
Blossomfall isn't allowed to hate her parents and this plotline is forgotten later on
Quiet Rain, Turtle Tail, and Any women in the Dawn of the Clan ARC, none of them are allowed to be mad. No one was mad at Clearsky.
Sorreltail towards Darkstripe (I forget the details of this.)
Twigbranch and Violetshine.
compare this to men
Dustpelt openly hates Ashfur
Cloudtail was furious at Bluestar
Jayfeather was angry at many things, including his disability *Which Cinderpelt, Briarlight and Brightheart didn't really....get?
Raggedstar was allowed to hate his father and later killed him.
Clearsky.

these books have always been abysmal at sending off their female characters (looking at sandstorm, we should've mauled the new team for killing her off like that) but man. what a disrespectful way to kill off leafpool.
she's a main character that's been relevant to the main plotline for multiple arc and they choose to have her die, be belittled and humiliated in a trial scene then told she has to "earn her place", and then just decides to stick around. not even in a main line book but in a side book.

Wanted to draw something celebrating Squirrelflight becoming Squirrelstar. I don’t read the books anymore but it’s nice and nostalgic to see a character from my childhood overcome so much and finally become leader like she deserves :]

“Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf never should’ve forgiven Leafpool and Squirrelflight” Well what if I told you Squirrelflight and Leafpool never should’ve forgiven them. Huh. They ruined both of their lives, Squirrelflight should’ve blamed Leafpool’s death on Bramblestar and Jayfeather. Should’ve torn the three a whole new one.

I feel like the narrative focuses too much on “Flamepaw was given the ‘Flame’ prefix to follow Firestar’s legacy’ and not enough on “Sparkpelt and Larksong chose the ‘Flame’ prefix for their kit before they saw them and it makes sense for Sparkpelt to want to keep it after Larksong died.”
This would also explain more reasonably why she was so upset about his name change and her line of “family is important to me.”
But also in that case, it would make more sense for Finch to have the prefix (would make sense either way), but maybe they wanted the prefix specifically for a tom? For some reason?
It would be great if these things could be cleared up for us by the actual writers so we didn’t have to grasp at straws on their behalf

My take for a potential Squirrelstar nine lives ceremony:
Shrewpaw - Friendship
Feathertail - Courage
Dustpelt - Patience
Graystripe - Loyalty
Juniperkit and Dandelionkit (one life between them) - Happiness
Hollyleaf - Forgiveness
Sandstorm - Determination
Firestar - Certainty
Leafpool - Love

My favorite end to Squirrelflight and Bramblestar is him apologizing and her not forgiving him. He is shocked and kinda upset but learns what he’s done to her cannot be whisked away with just a apology. He steps down and gives her space, he can make his peace with a few others maybe try and reach out to Jay or Lion but no one is forced to forgive him.
I know canon would never, if there ever was a real apology shown Squilf would probably be made to apologize back to him for no reason and give up her agency. Anyways just hoping for Squirrelstar 🤞
