“...yes, I suppose...again, it’s...it’s fine.” He gave a slight shake of his head, his hues flickering to the body nearby. Glancing back over towards the dark kitten within Kiki’s arms, a smile traced the vampire’s lips. “W-well...why not ah...she come live with me? I...I could use the company.” The blond admitted.
While he had been reluctant to let an animal live within the walls of Dracul Funeral Home, in part due to the embalming room and various chemicals, maybe having a cat around would help Garridan cope with his loneliness. That, and he would have something alive within his residence--a nice change of pace from the corpses he worked with. “Ofcourse, since ah...our shopping trip, you’d be w-welcome over any time to visit...”
He gave a small nod, though disappointed the pull seemed to ebb away. While he grew evermore confused by the connection that seemed to gnaw at his focus, clearly whatever the source was had long since vanished from the area. “It...I don’t mind it distracting me.” The blond admitted, sliding off his bloody gloves. “...I’m disheartened, though...I can’t help but w-wonder what it might be...” His voice cracked. “It...it feels so familiar, I can almost grasp it--but every time I feel as if I...as if I get closer-” Already, Garridan could feel bloody tears begin brimming in his eyes again. He bit into his lower lip, using his sleeve to wipe at his eyes. Why was he so upset? Perhaps it was because it reminded him of someone he used to know, someone he still loved with every fiber of his being.
“Anyhow--yes, let’s...let’s go. I’ll...w-we can leave an...anonymous tip. And yes--yes, let’s clean this little one...” Garridan forced the gloves into his pocket, not necessarily minding the fact it would contaminate his clothing. Being undead himself, and having seen far more decomposed corpses, a little bit of blood was nothing.
Navigating out of the house, Garridan assumed a position in front of Kiki; eyes searching within the darkness for any sign of the killer. His keen nose managed to pick up no other scent, and he was somewhat able to relax his nerves. Once outside, Garridan wasted no time in guiding his friend back to his residence, though as they walked he looked to the kitten in Kiki’s arms.
“...have you picked a name-?” The vampire meekly asked.
“Oh really could she stay with you? That would be great Garridan!” She wasn’t relived that she wouldn’t have to resort to sneaking the kitten into her apartment. She was on good terms with the landlord but she knew if she got caught it would cause trouble. “Haha now I’ll have even more of an excuse to come visit you more often!...Speaking of shopping trips we will have to go get this little one some food and toys.” How fun it would be to go shopping for Midnight. She already knew that this kitten was bound to be spoiled but her and Garridan.
Frowning as her friend went more into this feeling he had been having. She could see that it was upsetting him and couldn’t help but also wonder what exactly it was? Hoping that whatever was calling to him wasn’t something wicked. “I’m sure you’ll be able to find it soon! If you are meant to find it then it’ll happen just have faith! But please if you do go out to follow it let me know....I would hate for something to happen to you. Especially with people going missing lately and that thing in the woods....” she was unsure if Garridan would be able to defend himself if something bad did happen. Even though he was a vampire she knew how soft he was.
As they carefully made their way down the hall and creaky stairs, she took one last look at the inside of the building before stepping back out into the night. As they walked she cradled the feline close to her chest and used her finger to rub the top of its head. Turning to Garridan with a raised brow as he asked the cats name. She just told him though? She knew that the vampires mind was likely elsewhere so she didn’t comment and just told him the name. “It’s Midnight!” The kitten in her arms mewed and stared at Garridan with it’s bright blue eyes.
