guyssss look what a friend of mine found!! So there's this game called Spirit City: Lofi Sessions and it's like the Lofi Girl videos on Youtube, but you can actually make an own character, set a timer, make a to-do list, set up the atmosphere etc.

BUT. The reason why I tell you all this (besides it genuinely being a wonderful game): You could make your tc or a younger version of them (or you know, just anyone) and kinda pretend you're studying with them hahaha, wouldn't that be cute? I mean just loookkkk it's so cozy and cuuuteee

Idk if this would be as useful for anyone else as it is me but I wanted to mention it here, there's a game/productivity tool coming out in a couple months on steam but it has a demo until then and it's super chill and cool. I only found it cause it was part of NextFest but I'm a little obsessed It has built in lo-fi music if that's your thing (and a built-in youtube browser if you want to search out different music), it has four different activities your character can be doing, different times of day and background noises for atmosphere (and visualizations for some), cute character creator, built-in to-do lists and timer functions Also you can pick your little study companion. I love fire hedgehog

It's a demo rn so it's missing some stuff that's obviously intended for the final version but the demo is completely usable (it's clearly meant for study-type things but you can see I'm using it with pop-out video to watch things without getting distracted so much bc it just helps to have a slight barrier to wandering off as a reminder not to)

It's the CUTEST gamified focus tool I use for coworking streams! Think Lofi Girl, but interactive!

You can unlock different spirits & creatures as you focus! There are timers & task lists too! 10/10 recommend.

I got this for my birthday from a Finnish friend of mine, we basically buy a game we want or two for a sum of money, because sometimes its just easier than trying to get a gamecard on say a consol and such.

Its called Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, and it is basically a focus tool, and I tend to use it for work. I work permanently from home due to illness, and this helps me take breaks. Apart form lunch, breaks was something I tended to forget, now, this handy little thing helps me actually get my butt off the chair every hour. Also a lot of the ambient sounds it has help with my tinnitus, so that is another win for me. There are some things I would love to see for this game, like preview of something and not just if you want to see how it looks on your wall you have to buy it, and even more room options. But for what it is, its more than enough for me. The music is nice, and you can listen to your own playlists on youtube. (at least those that allow)

I'm happy to have a reminder to move a little more every day, and hey, the cute spirits are an added win!

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions

Glorified desktop saver and I say this with a heart full of love and grief for the loss of windows screen savers.

It's one of those games you just have open so you can focus on things because it plays Lofi music (or anything you input) and you get to adjust background noises such as "rain" or "forest noises" or "white/brown/pink noises"

You can set your own tasks, timer (with calculated breaks), and you can journal stuff.

And you collect spirits.

Rare case of a "Game built to be enjoyed" (by a team of 3), which I do say about almost every game I play, but it's because I have high standards. The standard is "a game that is built with love"

the way i've gotten more reading done in the past 36hrs than i have in over the past several months thanks to this game kjanskjdn. i've literally finished 5 short games / vns and gotten through a third of a spade black route. ;; it's also pushing me to work on my renniversary pic despite being in a weird art slump ("just draw for 15mins every day" and then i draw for more than 15mins lol).

idk, something about having gamifying a checklist and habits and pomo timers make things in my brain work in ways they haven't since i got long covid 😩

(plus i want to save up points so if they add the right hairstyle i can make and dress up ren LMAO)

all this to say i'm FINALLY ACTUALLY FOR REAL NOT FAKE doing what i've said i'd do for weeks and logging off for a decent while every day instead of endlessly scrolling. and i'm still worried about "doing enough" for the 1 year renniversary, but instead of procrastinating due to perfectionism i'm getting SOMETHING ready for it. 😌👍🏻
