*New Resident 🐐♿* 🛻🐐We're on the road to pick up new special needs baby resident Willy. 🐐♿ Willy was born the smallest of 3 babies. His family thinks that his mom may have laid down on him, injuring him and has since rejected him :( He's has a very hard time walking but is slowly making progress. They wanted him to go to a good home where he can have 1 on 1 attention and have a chance at a possible recovery. His family has been doing a wonderful job so far. While seeking a home for him, they received a LOT of responses from people who wanted to EAT him! That's not at all what the family wanted or what his fate should be. It's hard to imagine people like that but they're out there more than we'd like to think :( 🐐♿Willy will be joining the MVS family today. He'll have access to wheelchairs, therapy and lifelong love. He's currently on a bottle and will be for approximately 2 more months. We're unsure of how much his formula will be but when we find out what kind he's currently on we'll be posting that information as well. We'll be trying to make an appt for Willy for a diagnosis (especially if progress haults) and to be neutered. 🙏🏻We could really use your help for gas money. 🚙🐐♿ We're on the road and headed to the #vets for #Bennys appointment to see if we can get a diagnosis as to why he's unable to walk. I believe his skeletal structure is twisted and that may be why. As well as getting him neutered 😬 it's not something I really want to do but it will be much better for him in the long run and might as well get everything done in one visit if possible. Maribelle Update: This morning Maribelle had a significant amount of green discharge from her incision. Being the paranoid owner that I am, I immediately called her vet to have it checked. The vet said it was a really good thing I brought Maribelle back in because the abscess was extending down underneath the incision site and they had to remove some tissue. If we had waited, she might have lost a lot more. We're switching to a more aggressive antibiotic and I'll be taking her back every 2 days to have the area flushed out and rebandaged with medicated gauze. Super glad for my brain overthinking things right now cause we could've lost her again. The vet did say the tissue around the optical nerve endings was looking really good, and she put on 10g of weight. Really hoping that this new antibiotic doesn't kill her appetite again. That being said, each of these visits is going to cost around $200 since she's got to be sedated. We'll be fundraising the entire month of January to make sure we can afford this essential treatment for sweet Maribelle.
