Ares had spotted him while searching the crowds, twirling far above them all in the sky with his wife, but without a pegasus or wyvern's support to be found. Rather than so much as exclaim his shock at the sight, Ares was rapidly becoming so numb to the insanity of these elementals' magic that he could do no more than muster the most bewildered squint.
More important than any bizarre magic was the knowledge that, now that he knew he was here, it was only right to pay a greeting to someone so dear to several of his own friends and family. He must have caught them at the end of their dance, for they soon gracefully touched back down to the dance floor not too far from him.
"Sigurd," Ares began as he approached, "Well met."
If he were in distress, he was sure he wouldn't have looked so thoroughly delighted. Or, actually, when he thought back to the other elemental prison they'd just recently escaped, he wasn't so sure. What Ares was sure of was the strategy of patience and agitation Sigurd used to give them that valuable opening in the first place, one he had already forgotten when he was first dropped here. Seeing him so at ease despite the situation was a good reminder, as well as an invitation for him to do the same.
Or try to.
Those wings were quite the show stealer, and as Ares fought to push his gaze onto something else, it fell on Sigurd's vine necklace.
"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to see your vines so full of blooms already, but it is impressive nonetheless."
Where Sigurd's was bursting with flowers of every hue, Ares' was still much more vine than petal. Rather than discourage him though, the sight of it only served to again put him in mild awe, his apparent skills now another benchmark for his own to reach towards.
"I'm aiming to gather more of them myself -- in the name of a duel I'm having with your nephew, as well as bettering my own networking abilities." He offered his Earth-branded hand. "Might I have yours too?"
"Ares, my boy! Well met indeed!" Whatever else the boy had to say to him was drowned out by the roar of Sigurd's delight in his ears, the musical chiming of his lady love's breathless acceptance caressing his heart.
He saw the boy extend his hand, and tipped his head back for a laugh before rushing forward and clasping his arms about the young man, wrenching him upward in a great bear of an embrace, twirling him about before setting him back down and clapping him on the shoulders.
"The most delightful news, my boy - oh, I am simply overcome with - well, no perhaps I ought to wait until my lady deigns to speak." He was a rush, babbling somewhat nonsensically. Seeing that Ares had his hand still extended, Sigurd clasped it firmly, pumping a strong handshake from the surely stunned young man.
"Ah, the flowers bloom, just as the heart of love does, don't you find?" The whirlwind of Sigurd's brand gnashed its teeth against the stolid cracked earth of Ares', and their flowers blossoming only brought a tinge of wistfulness to Sigurd's eye.
Whatever Ares had been saying was well and truly drowned out, for his timing could not have been more impeccable as to find Sigurd so drowning in bliss.

FOREVER
Pairing: FFXV!NYX ULRIC x FEM!READER
Words: 2.331
Warnings: fluff, hurt-comfort
"Having a new girlfriend there?", Libertus teased what earned him a slap against his arm from Crowe.
"No, guys. That's Yn. She's ... She arrived here in Insomnia yesterday.", Yamachang introduced the small woman next to his side, "Please, be nice to her."
Yn felt nervous as the group of friends stared at her. Five pairs of eyes were looking expectant as if she had to tell a big story about herself. Just one pair of eyes was different. The eyes of the guy with the name Nyx made her speechless. It was their intensity that caught her attention. The handsomeness of the man kept her in his unspoken spell.
"Where do you come from, Yn?", Crowe asked softly as she saw how nervous the young woman seemed to be in front of a bunch of strangers.
Yn smiled softly, thankful to get distracted, "Galahd. I'm from Galahd."
***
It didn't need much time til Yn was a big part of the group of friends. Pelna, Libertus, Crowe and Luche included her immediately. Making her feel welcomed. Nyx did the same with the difference that, within a very short time, Yn was far more for him than just a friend. She was home.
Whenever he saw her, Nyx' heart made a little jump because, in a bitter-sweet, beautiful way, she reminded him of what he had lost. It was as if she had taken everything from the island to store it inside of her. Piece by piece, she released parts of it. Her voice was like the wind in the trees. Her laugh was like the singing of the birds. Her smile was as bright as the endless sky. And her eyes were sparkling like the open sea on a fresh summer day.
Every day, after his shift with the Glaives, Nyx was eager to go to Yamachang's with the hope to meet Yn again. Just to be in her presence gave him comfort because her character was so light and easy to have around. And that was everything Nyx allowed to himself: to have her around him with the others because he was far away from being the right man for her.
Every evening, when the Glaives came, Yn looked out for Nyx and smiled shyly at him when he passed her. But one evening was different. The others were already there but Nyx was nowhere to be seen.
"Nyx comes a bit later.", Crowe said low, stepping next to Yn as she saw her searching glance, "He... He works at the gate watch at the moment."
"Oh, why?", Yn asked, frowning why he did this unusual job. Every refugee learnt quickly how the gate watch was thinking of outsiders.
"Well... as punishment. During our last fight at the wall, he ignored our Captain's orders. If he wouldn't have done that, some of us would be dead now.", Crowe explained before she went back to Pelna to ask him something.
Yn dwelled on what Crowe had told her and as Nyx showed up finally, her heart made a jump as her eyes landed on the hero.
"Nyx the gatekeeper. Tell me, how's the new post treat you.", Pelna asked even if he knew the answer already.
"The gate watch are real sweethearts. You would love it.", Nyx said sarcastically and brought Yn back to reality from her day dreaming.
"Yeah, everyone knows that they hate us outsiders.", Pelna said and thanked Yn with a smile as she gave him a new drink.
Yn turned over to Nyx and looked at him. She smiled beautifully as their eyes met. And he smiled back softly like always, taking the drink from her she offered him. But he did nothing more. It wouldn't be fair to drag her into his chaotic life. No matter how much he wanted someone next to him. To have someone just for himself. Who would care for him more than just as a friend. Someone who would be there for him. But he couldn't demand from Yn to live a life of pain and uncertainty just so he wouldn't be lonely. Even when she represented everything he was searching for.
***
Then, one evening, a few days later, Yn waited til the night that Nyx would show up at Yamachang's but he stayed away. Pelna told her not to worry too much. Nyx was still working at the gate and maybe he had a rough day. But Yn worried because she liked the greyish haired Glaive so much. So, she asked Yamachang for a bunch of meat skewers, wrapped them and as the friends were gone, she made her way through the underground to reach his place.
It wasn't far away but with each step, Yn noticed how her hands became sweaty and she became nervous. It was the first time to visit him and as she knocked, Yn already considered what she was doing but then, there was no turning back as she heard footsteps behind the door.
As Nyx opened the door, he expected Libertus or Crowe. But the last he expected were the bright eyes and wide smile he loved to see so much, "Yn? What are you doing here?", Nyx asked surprised.
Yn, who was always a bit nervous around Nyx, gnawed on her lower lip, "Y-you weren't at Yamachang's tonight.", she said low, casting her eyes to the ground.
Nyx scratched the back of his neck. To stay away had been a hard decision but he noticed how he started to fall for the young woman, so he wanted to keep some distance from her, "Yeah... I... I wasn't in the best mood. I just wanted to be alone.", he lied and felt bad as he saw that she believed him.
Yn's eyes grew a bit bigger as she realized that she had done the wrong thing, "Oh... Oh... Uhm... I- I'm ... Okay, then I will leave you alone again. Sorry for bothering you.", she stammered and noticed her cheeks turning pink. Understanding that the idea had been stupid after all, Yn turned over to leave.
Nyx knew he should let her go, it would be the easiest way, but as he saw her sad, disappointed expression, he couldn't watch her walk away like this, "No! Please, wait. You're not bothering me. I was just surprised... I have just don't expect you here.", he said with a soft smile as he saw her stopping.
Yn looked down at the small package in her hand, "Yeah, about that... I brought you some food. I thought you might be hungry.", she said and looked carefully at him.
Nyx was taken aback about the fact that she cared so much about him, "That's so nice from you.", he said and watched amazed how a beautiful smile spread on her lips and before Nyx could stop himself he spoke again, bubbling out the question he had in mind, "You... Do you wanna come in?"
Yn was surprised about his invitation but she agreed. Happily, she watched how Nyx seemed to devour the food in one go as if he hadn't eaten in years. Nyx had placed Yn into his comfortable arm chair, the only neat place he could find for her before he sat on his bed to eat.
While letting him eat, Yn looked through the room. Her eyes landed on the pictures of his family and felt sadness for his loss. She knew how he felt, being in the same position as him as she had come to Insomnia. She also had lost her family, her home and was alone. Yn was thankful for Yamachang and that he had introduced her to his friends. But as she watched Nyx, the feeling of being more than just friends with him increased even more.
So, as it became late and she was about to leave Nyx' place to go home, Yn took all her courage to try her luck, "Nyx, I... I- I like you.", she said softly, stopping at the door where Nyx wanted to say goodnight.
"I like you, too.", Nyx said casually, not thinking about what she really meant.
Once again, Yn became nervous as she looked up at him, "N-no, I-I- I mean I like you.", she said more meaningfully.
"But, I.... Oh...", Nyx breathed as he realized. She had said what he wanted to hear and yet, it was the last thing he should hear from her considering the fact that he didn't see himself as worthy of her.
"Yeah...", Yn said low and looked away from his intense glance.
There were the things Nyx wanted to say desperately and then, there were the things he should say, "Yn...", he sighed, annoyed more about himself, "You shouldn't like me that way.", he said low.
Yn looked up, "Why not?", she asked impulsively before she realized what Nyx meant, "Oh, I see... You don't feel the same. I... Uhm... Okay.", she said crestfallen and just wanted to leave, getting away from Nyx and his handsome face.
As Nyx saw her like this, his heart dropped and even if it would be the best to let her go, he couldn't do it like this, "Yn, wait. It's not because of you.", he said softly.
"Sure. What a cliché.", Yn said low, not looking at him.
Nyx took a breath, "No, just wait. Yn, you're wonderful, beautiful, lovely... you're gorgeous but ... I'm a Glaive. This life is nothing you would deserve. Not after everything you went through. Nothing would be certain with me. You would fear for my life whenever I wear this uniform. You would have sleepless nights because you don't know if I'm still alive or not during a battle. We would fight often because you ask me to quit the job and I would say no. I would feel bad for making you sad because I couldn't change it. And even if no one else sees it, I'm broken. I have nightmares and flashbacks at random times. Why would you want to deal with a guy like me?"
"Because I think you're worth it.", Yn said, seeing that her words hit the man in front of her.
Insecurity was written in Nyx' eyes but there was also hope. Hope that she really meant what she just said.
Yn stepped forward by the sight of his emotion-filled eyes, "I can't heal your wounds and I can't stop your nightmares but I can comfort you. I can be there for you when you need someone to cling to. I could be there for you when you need someone to bring you back from your flashbacks. Of course, I would worry for you when you're out there because I want you to come back into my arms. I would try to get you away from the Glaives even if I know I would never be successful. And that's okay. That's how you are. But I wouldn't stop trying. I wouldn't stop fighting. You know why I would do all this? Because I don't see any flaws in you. For me, you're the nicest, most handsome and most perfect guy I have ever seen. Your eyes are the bluest and wildest, matching the deepest ocean. When you talk, I could listen to you for hours. Your lips are the ones I'm craving for to taste, at least just once. I would admire every single scar on your body because they're the signs of your endless strength, devotion and determination. You might not see yourself as perfect. But you don't have to. Because I see you like this.", she stopped her speech with a pounding heart. While still looking into his eyes, she gnawed on her lower lip before she added, "Let me love you, Nyx. You don't have to be alone. Let me in your life and I promise I will try to make it easier for you.", she whispered and waited for his reaction. She had said everything on her mind. Everything she always thought when she saw him. Now, it was his turn to react.
A single tear slipped from Nyx' eyes and rolled along his cheek. Yn raised her hand slowly to brush it away with her thumb. Just this small touch kindled a roaring fire inside of him. Still overwhelmed that someone thought about him like this, he stepped forward, cupping her face softly in fear she could break under his hands before he connected their lips for a desperate kiss.
Yn's fingers found their way into his shirt to get hold as Nyx' reaction took her by surprise. The hero kissed her with such a force that her breath hitched in her throat but she didn't even care. The only thing she wanted was to have the man even closer. Slowly, she stroked from his chest down to his hips and over them to his back to slip her hands underneath the fabric of his shirt to feel his skin.
As Nyx felt Yn's nails digging softly into his skin, he backed away for some air. Panting, he leant his forehead against hers with closed eyes while his heart was racing in his chest, "Can you stay? Forever?", he whispered shakily.
"Actually, my plan was to bring you food so you wouldn't be starving but yeah, I think I can manage to stay forever as well.", she whispered and was happy to hear a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
"I was already starving and then you came along, making me happy just with your being.", Nyx whispered, looking her into the eyes, "And now, you turn into the reason why I always want to come back home. Obviously, now, I have to be a bit more cautious.", he whispered before he embraced her, burying his nose into the crook of Yn's neck to inhale her scent and to bring her even closer.
Bursting with joy, Yn flung her arms around the hero's chest, snuggling against him with the promise to never let him go.

"greek-Bros: The Return of an Old Enemy"
Chapter 5: One Man's Weakness is his Own Wife
The preparations for the Dionysia was underway; maenads, satyrs and villagers decorate the streets with flowers, purple and gold ribbons. The amphitheater was being prepared for this year's theme of "The Downfall of Troy", a theme that Apollo earlier in the month repeatedly objected towards but Dionysus completely forgotten why Apollo didn't approve of....until the Dionysia.
Dionysus was helping his theater troops with the set. "A LITTLE TO THE LEFT!" Dionysus shouted to two stage hands movie a large crude cut-out of a very angry Zeus, "NO THE OTHER LEFT!" he shouted again.
The stage hands were at this point a little confused on where to go, so the both of them just stand completely still to see if Dionysus actually noticed. Dionysus tilts head head to see if the angle is right and stares at the cut-out. "..... perfect, now all need to do is fix the curtains an-" he suddenly felt a light tap on his shoulder, he turns around and sees Apollo we a stern look on his face with Ariadne next to him with a look of concern.
"Um.... Dionysus....is THAT supposed to be dad?" Apollo questioned as he pointed to what basically was the equivalent of a child's drawing of Zeus with sharp teeth, a unibrow and a few inaccurate details that would be obvious to most people.
"Um yes. Yes it is.", Dionysus defended the depiction with all his heart, "I made it myself....with Kale's help, he's been extremely helpful." He points to Kale, who ironically is the director of the play for Dionysia, helping with choreography with a group of maenads. He turns back to Apollo and Ariadne, he steps past Apollo and goes straight to Ariadne, romancing her with the same vigor as if it was still love at first sight.
"Ah sweet pea, you made it" he gives a small kiss her hand, "-listen I have been dieing to get your opinion on the set up for act 3 ," gives another kiss up her forearm, "-the maenads have helped with casting pretty well so far buuuut I may need-" kisses again up the arm, "-someone to fix the costumes for Ares and Heracles though, mostly because it's a little too small for the both of t-" again Dionysus was interrupted mid sentence with Ariadne placing he finger on his lips. As much as she adored Dionysus's courting and him in general, she also equally adored her subjects as any queen would. She lets out a sigh and gives Dionysus kiss on his nose.
"Dionysus, love, we need to talk.", stated Ariadne, "It's about the festival, we HAVE to call it off and continue on another day." she continued. "Apollo told me everything about what's been going on. If it's not safe for the public to be out as soon as the sun goes down, than we must postpone the festival." she argued.
He couldn't believe his own ears, first his brother and now his own wife attempts to convince him to cancel a celebration. So he attempts to continue his 'counter measure', he continues to woo her. He picks her up in his arms. "Oh don't worry my little pomegranate seed, things aren't THAT bad, it was probably the cats being naughty.", he tried to convince her as he started to nuzzle her neck. His stubble tickled Ariadne, she lets out a few giggles, suddenly the two are now locked into a battle of dodging the topic and inappropriate amounts of "pda". The two went back and forth on topic of canceling the event for the safety of the residence. It was between the traditions to party hardy or to prevent a possible mass animal attack that has yet to be resolved.
Meanwhile Apollo is standing three feet away completely growing tired kf the two's public displays of affection, mostly because he personally feels not only is this a massive waste of time but also it makes him feel internally irritated knowing he doesn't have anyone to do this with at moment... subsequently feeling left out. "You two DO realize it's four hours until sunset, I need to at least know you two will be safe before I leave." He interjected.
The two were currently locking lips with each other, Dionysus knew full well this couldn't go on much longer. Dionysus finished his kiss with Ariadne.
Like most men, he didn't like his mind or his plans changed. "How about....we make it during the day?" he suggested, he reasoned that since the attacks have mostly happened at night that there was plenty of time to celebrate.
Ariadne nodded her head no, "No, Apollo had mentioned some these animals have attacked during the day too. He's seen them occasionally, we have to postpone. Maybe during a day that..." She thought about her request...." No nevermind.", She blurted.
Dionysus was confused, was there truly a way out of this annoying cancelation? "... nevermind what?" He asked.
Ariadne has set her trump card, "oh, maybe...just to make the people feel a little bit safer... invite your father to the Dionysia?", she bashfully asked.
Dionysus stood there with a blank expression, a few seconds later, he started laughing. "Ahahhahaha, oh Ariadne, that's really fucking funny hahaha!" he laughed continuously, he looked up and saw Ariadne's face, she wasn't very happy. "Ohhhh you're serious." He realized what she was suggesting wasn't a joke, but a genuine suggestion. "Look, I'm NOT going to bother my dad to babysit us. Delphi honestly isn't in any danger, and we've had two attacks....in three months!" He argued. The conversation started to get a little more serious.
Ariadne let out a small huff, "I know you want to keep the festival going but the safety of people are a little bit more important than tradition right now. I don't care if it was two, or three or a thousand attacks, you know very well that the festivities will be ruined if someone gets hurt.", she told him. "Please I beg you, not just for my sake but the sake of whomsoever might get hurt. It's either you get your father to come over to make sure nothing bad happens....or no sex....for a year, plus no cuddles either. Seriously Dionysus, if someone gets killed over this I swear I probably won't talk to you afterwards!" She was at her limit, if Dionysus was going to be stubborn about festival, than she was going to be stubborn with him.
Dionysus was at an impasse, he couldn't risk making his ultimate wine-wifu upset and to top it off he could not stand the idea of being ignored by her for such an undisclosed amount of time. He also couldn't just CANCEL one of the most important holidays in Greece, mostly Dionysia was also a performing arts contest, and Delphi has been going strong for several years against Delos and Sparta so his ego was on the line. He turned around and pondered to himself, hoping to figure out a way he could make both parties happy. "What if I raised the defenses around the town?....what if I can make wine bombs....that makes wolves too drunk to attack people?" he suggested,.
Ariadne stood there speechless, trying to decide if she was shocked or not to hear this from Dionysus. She motioned to one of the maenads to hand her a prop. A maenad handed her a peacock feather, mostly she didn't want to be responsible for any injuries the Dionysus could probably sustain from this. Ariadne with a gentle smile, worked with what she got, started whipping him with the feather. "YOU. ARE. SO. DAMN. STUBBORN. WINE. CAN'T. SOLVE. NOT. BEING. ALIVE." She shouted as she 'mercilessly' hit his shoulders and back.
Dionysus couldn't help but defend himself by curling up and blocking his face. At this point, he was already in hot water with Ariadne, so he decides to pretend to actually be hurt and start screaming.
Apollo was now just sitting on a director's chair that was provided but one of the stage hands, in fact the whole amphitheater's staff and volunteers were watching this incredible marital dispute. It was rare to see Dionysus and Ariadne fight, some even started to provide snacks to each other. "HOW ABOUT THIS-" Apollo announced.
Dionysus and Ariadne both stop and looked at Apollo. The two pausing midway through their dramatic theatrics.
Apollo stood up and let out a long sigh, "look, if it makes you feel better Dionysus.....as compensation for losing a day-" he said mid sentence.
"A WEEK" Ariadne shouted, she hoped to at least wait a week to make full sure what ever has been going would be solved within the week.
"NO. THATS TOO LONG!" Dionysus furiously responded but was again getting pelted by Ariadne's peacock feather. "AAAH NO NOT AGAIN!" he shouted.
Apollo continued on, "..... loosing a week of the Dionysia, I will make it sunny....for a whole week....just so that you celebrate...none stop...for a whole week." Apollo knew he was going to make BILLIONS of mortals completely confused, ruin many people's sleep schedule...but all to convince the god of wine to cancel a party.
Ariadne was very happy about the idea but it was something. "DEAL!", she shouted, she stopped whipping Dionysus with the feather. Dionysus stood up, not even feeling anything, with his ego a little bruised having had his will be bent. He begrudgingly decided to the agreement, "Fine. But I better get a summertime blow out during that week dude." He conditioned.
Apollo could breath a sigh of relief, he had at least avoided disaster for the citizens of Delphi. Now it was off to Delos to arrange some defenses around the countryside. Delphi may not have any 'wolves', but he was worried of Delos did. "Well, good to see we're at an accord. Dionysus, please be careful tonight and good luck to you, Lady Ariadne." He waved as he went to find his chariot.
Ariadne and Dionysus waved goodbye to Apollo. Ariadne looked up at Dionysus and tried to tickle him the the peacock feather on his neck. He tried to not crack a smile but he couldn't resist being ticklish let alone be mad at his wife. "Hahahehehe, ok ok, sorry sweetie. I just really hate canceling anything." He apologized.
Ariadne chuckled and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "it's ok, but your brother is right you know." She assured him. "Come on, I'll help you pack a few things up." She went on to help put away some of the decorations. Dionysus turned around, "Ok pack up the small stuff everyone! Dionysia is cancelled for the week!" He announced. The staff and followers were all shocked and some started to comment amongst themselves. "Don't worry, the party will continue next week with a full week of sunshine and hardcore partying. As of tonight...um...just like... don't go out at night. Stay home and get wasted indoors my dudes." He finished off his announcement, turned to went to help with putting away some of the things.
Kale had finally comeback from a 45 minute wine break and was completely confused as to why everyone was putting away everything. "Ok seriously I need to lay off the marlot because WHAT THE FUCK did I just FUCKING nap through the Dionysia?!" He shouted. A satyr walked up to fill Kale in, "um nah brah, Dionysia is cancelled until next week....after that its party time on steroids." Kale at first was frustrated because he worked on the dance routine for the play, until he realized there was a whole week to make some changes. "GASP! I must go, improvement awaits!" He dramatically left to come up with another part of the scene.

My thoughts on Hamilton West End
Thoughts on Hamilton West End 21/12/17 (night after opening!)
(This is long as shit and very messy it's full of first impressions and random things I've remembered (mainly the funny bits ngl) all mixed up together I apologise but I needed to get it out somehow cos I'm not good at expressing emotions lol, also the words funny, excited and hyper are prolly overused i apologise)
Bearing in mind I have not seen the bway show and the creative team is largely the same so I'm sure I'll talk a Talk about thinks that are similar in both
Vic pal theatre is stunning it's just been renovated our seats were sick even though we were about half way up the upper circle we had a brilliant view of the stage and the stage still felt really close
On a vaguely related note I wore my 'AND PEGGY' baseball cap and 3 of the stewards said they liked it it was cute
Act 1
FIRST THINGS FIRST THE CHOREOGRAPHY WAS STUNNING. A mash up of hip hop, modern and ballet. How you even think if that I don't know. There was always SO MUCH going on and the energy was constant - wether they were synchronised doing the same thing or all doing something different from the Schuyler sisters on the high walkway or the ensemble doing lifts in pairs even or whatever it just made me wanna dance (lol bc I can't) I can't talk about it enough but I'll stop now because I'm not eloquent enough.
Burr - voice is really unique and it was kinda weird at first (may be due to being used to Leslie) but you got used to it and I think reall suited the character? His mannerisms and physicality were SO BURR. Also was really funny! All his little one liners were done really funny-ly and well thought out.
Before they had King George to do a little announcement about phones and I love it also meant I was ready for the dum dum dumdum bc I was super nervous (in a good way?)
A.ham (song) - ahh it's such a good intro. when burr first came on there was an orange yellow light behind him and it made a super long shadow onto the stage and it was p o w e r f u l.
When they all came to the front of the stage in a line I was so excited because I've been waiting for that moment for 2 years
I LOVED Jamel Westman as Ham he was sick. He's just come out of RADA how do you deal with taking on a part like that with such little experience whoa . I must say that I think I liked him a lot more in act 2 than act 1 he seemed a bit stiff in act 1 but that may have been be I'm used to Lin who I think played him more nerdy and hyper? Kinda. I love both but Westman was insane. Also had a really nice singing voice.
Angelica slated my entire being Rachel John is perfect for that part
George Washington had a husky singing voice and it suited him so well
KING GEORGE III is possibly my favourite character ever he's so funny and extra.
I don't think Michael Jibson had the best singing I've heard in that role (but like who can even sing that it's high to kudos to him for hitting those notes) his 'kill your friends and family' was hilarious he sang the up until 'and family' which he said really seriously and then he left a massive pause where he just stared at the audience. I giggled. On the last da da dadadaaa's he did a little shoulder wiggle which was funny too! There was a couple of points over the three songs where he held long notes for even longer than necessary which was good too
Now my friends went and saw it in previews a couple of weeks ago and said they didn't really like Rachel Ann Go as Eliza so I did go in expecting to not like her as much ( I trust my friends opinions) which obviously wasn't great and I tried to go in with an open mind but I kinda understand why you might not like her however overall I thought she was good and I liked her a lot more in act 2 than act 1. At first I felt she was almost too excitable and hyper which more of a Peggy thing (speaking of, Peggy was really grumpy and cute which was funny) although Eliza did become a lot more restrained throughout the show which I think was a good choice as it helped show age and I think was more Eliza anyway. I thought her Best of Wives and Best of Women was perfect though. He American ACCENT though was not great I hate to say it but it was very British a lot of the time and in the 'ohhh I do I do I do I dooo' bit in helpless she sounded cockney? I'm sorry how
AWE IN HELPLESS ANGELICA COULDN'T GET ELIZA'S VEIL ON IN TIME SHE TRIED LIKE TWICE AND IT JUST SLID RIGHT IFF I FELT SO BAD It wasn't super noticeable though and things are bound to go wrong
In story of tonight reprise when Lauren's goes I've seen wonders great and small they all looked at Laf bc he was really short it was funny
Most of Wait for it was really still which was nice as it gave a rest from the crazy continual movement and action from the last few scenes. Also Burr has a peng voice
Ten duel commandments was super intense ahh
YORKTOWN WAS SO EXCITING IVE SEEEN ALL GHE PROMOS FOR THAT SONG AND TO ACTUALLY SEE IT LIVE SO EXHILARATING Westman was a stern leader and it worked really well
You could just tell that the audience thought it was the end of act one but NOPE SIT DOWN WE STILL GOT MORE
Also cheer on "immigrants: we get the job done" was British and polite but still there and I was READY FOR IT
on 'I'm so blue' in What Comes Next? Kings George did a little frustrated stamp and the red light he was standing snapped to blue it was good
Dear theodosia was super cute Burr and Ham were in matching costumes but Burr's waistcoat was purple and Ham's was green
Laurens' death was SAD but Cleve September is PERFECT for that role
Felt the transition from Laurens' death to not stop was bit quick, like I needed to feel sad for longer, it just sort of went straight into not stop
NON-STOP DAMN after the treasury or state bit Ham's 'lEtS gO' was so exciteable loved it.
On angelicas as it about her husband they got to the don't forget to writteee part and Angelica got taken away on the revolve Eliza was put into her place it was SO CLEVER near the end the staircase came into the middle and Washington was on the top and it was I N T E N S E
Clapped a freaking lot at the end of act one
Act 2
Dad called jeferson 'purple rain prince guy'
Seriously though the purple velvet was A Look
SUCH AN CRAZY Jefferson! Did loads of dancing and jumping and twirls is was so funny how he would just suddenly go into it
Ham snaked Washington when going in for a handshake he fully cut him off
I'm Take A Break they changed "John Adams doesn't have a real job anyway" to "the Vice President is not a real job anyway" which I think was changed so it's clearer to the audience who they're talking about
The cabinet battles were fab like I said before Westman was a calmer Hamilton but was more realistic 'We will reconvene after a brief reset' was said really sweetly to the audience like nothing was going wrong it was funny
Before Say No To This my friend just whispered Owh Dear really quietly and honestly? Mood
Christine Allado did a super sultry voice which was strong but deffo works for Maria.
The room where it happens was sick!!!
At one point the whole stage was in red lighting except for a bright white box that Burr was in it was so cool. Also VOCALS in this were amazing The Riffs!!!!
Cleve September as Phillip was cute you could really see the age difference between 9 and 19
The vocals in One Last Time we great "George Washington's going homeeeee" had me shook
In I Know Him King George seemed really crazy and manically smiled on 'that poor man their going to eat him alive'
And the crazy laughs at the end was brilliantly MANIC
He didn't leave at the end of his song just sat lower stage right and danced to the beginning of The Adams Administration which was funny but what was even better was that half way through his little introduction Burr noticed the king watching a gave him a odd look and the king just did a hand wave to tell him to continue and kept shimmying
WESTMAN'S VOICE IN HURRICANE WAS BEAUTIFUL
REYNOLDS PAMPHLET WAS FUNNY RVEN THOUGH I FELT BAD JEFFERSON LOOKED SO HAPPY AMD THE SET LOOKED REALLY COOL WITH ALL THE PAPERD FLYINV AROUND HAM BUT I COULDN'T EVEN FOCUS ON ANGELICAS BiT BECAUSE I WAS BUSY LAUGHING AT KING GEORGE DANCING WITH THE CHORUS AND ADDING HIS ONE SHEET IF PAPER TO THE MESS
oh but I loved was when Angelica arrived and the ensemble too way her bags in one motion it was slick and I enjoyed it
Burn was nice but I think Rachelle Ann Go made it a bit too vibrato-y which became kind of annoying (also I kinda felt though the entire thing she was forcing a really classical voice which was nice but didn't really work) her voice is amazing though apart from that and I really felt the reserved sorta anger in the performance
Blow Is All Away was SAD I COULD HEAR EVERYONE ONE CRYING AROUND ME, good dying (lol) on September's part
I wasn't a fan of Eliza's scream/cry when Phillip died I'm not sure what it was I didn't like but her counting WITH him was PErFECT
It's Quiet Uptown is the saddest thing ever lemme tell you. I don't cry. I cannot remember the last time I cried, particularly not at normal sad things. I saw Les Mis two weeks ago and didn't even get tear-y, so you can imagine how freaking sad this song has to be to get me to almost cry. I had pretty watery eyes and one hell of a snotty nose. It was bad. The lines like 'the unimaginable' were the worst. If you thing the cast recording is sad just wait until you see it live
After Jefferson came in with "can we get back to politics" he said it like he was tired of all the sad personal stuff which was funny and the Madison came on saying please and his voice broke like he had been crying at It's Quiet Uptown as well which was funny and it provided some well needed comic relief
When ham said he was voting for Jefferson Jeff did his twirls and dances again which was great and burr looked SO MAD
Your Obedient Servant was passive aggressive af it was great. And the ensemble was doing like lighthearted ballet and around them which actually worked really well Line change from "weehawkin, dawn" to "New Jersey, dawn" I'm assuming cos they've mentioned New Jersey more so it was clearer? Idk
Like I already said Best if Wives And Best of Women was 10/10 perfect
Ok so the world was wide enough Giles Terra (Burr) didn't do The Line™ in a really emotional way he did IT angry bc let's be honest you don't wanna compete yourself to Leslie on that so I enjoyed the change. HAMS SPEACH WHEN HE GEST SHOT IS SO GOOD I COULD NOT DEAL WITH IT
Also the choreo when Burr says "they row job back across the Hudson" they did this cool rowing move next to Ham and with the revolve it looked like they were on a boat!
I thought Eliza was quite good in WLWDWTYS "the orphanage" is such a nice bit
The gasp at the end was not made clear however. I understand it as Eliza seeing the audience and realising that her work has come true and that the legacy continues right? I only know that bc I read it beforehand, I think it could have been made clearer by the house lights come if up slightly so the audience knows Eliza seeing us. Also the way the gasp/hand move was done it made it seam Eliza was about to go into some really stereotypical opera singing? I just think she could have referenced the audience more but it's a really cute idea that I like.
All the cast bowed at the same time it was so cute and important bc everyone put in so much effort and they all deserved to be together
Straight up standing ovation oc
The play out music at the end was a really jazzy mashup of the songs and if my brain had been fully functioning after the show I would remember what songs but it was sick and they did the classic bum bumbumbum bum bum bum! At the end and the red and white bulls eye lighting they had for the duels flashed it was sick
SPEAKING OF LIGHTING IT WAS INCREDIBLE
THERE WAS LIKE A LIGHTING CUE EVERY 3 SECONDS I DINT KNOW HOW THAY MANAGED IT BUT IT WAS ALL SO WELL THOUGHT OUT AND CLEVER LIKE THERE WAS LITTLE LIGHTS AROUND THE EDGES LIKE STREET GRATES THAT IF LIKE BURR WAS IN ONE SIDE IF THE STAGE AND HAM ON OTHER THE GRATES WOULD BE ORANGE ON ONE SIDE AND BLUE ON THE OTHER. EVERY. SINGLE. DETAIL. Yes I'm gonna rant bc techies don't get enough respect
I've definitely missed so many things I wanted to put here but I was quite overwhelmed which I think is understandable when I've been waiting for over two years for it but it was so so worth it.
Ok I'm done I might add more if I remember goodnight folks

Something Flutters
Tumblr media
Written By: Admin T.Pot Summary: Not everyone knows at once when they’ve fallen in love. And although you are the expert, you’re blind to your true feelings. The feelings you have make you uncomfortable hence gives you the idea that it’s unpleasant. Something... flutters... inside whenever he’s involved. But maybe it’s not always negative. A/N (PLEASE READ): There are a few things I would to let you guys know ! This is a series but every shot has it’s different title so I won’t be naming the whole series;; Just know they are all somewhat connected but like;; they’re not really connected LOL For those who know mythology really well;; I’m sorry if these don’t really match up with the actual myths, but it’s just my twist on it so please bear with me TT it’s just a fic LOL;; Another thing, you might get confused along the way but here’s an easy guide: Aphrodite (goddess of Love and Beauty) = Y/N Hephaestus (god of Fire [and like craftsmans / metals / etc.]) = Chanyeol Also ! Keep an eye out for who may be next to come in the 5 part series ;) Okay ? Okay ! Enjoy ~ Word Count: 5,200
"Y/N, I got you some flowers," Chanyeol smiles sheepishly as he hands me a bouquet of flowers.
Yet, the flowers aren't really real. I stare blankly at the bouquet of flames in the shape of roses. The petals move as if the flowers were actually alive and dancing. It was quite beautiful and honestly, if he gave this bouquet to another girl, anyone from a human to a goddess would most definitely appreciate the effort and the creativity. Some may even fall for him. But it was different for me. In fact, it irritated me.
My eyes moved up from the flowers to see the shy stupid grin Chanyeol had on his face. I don't know what it is about him, but everything he did just annoyed me. Everything about him just irritated me. And I'm the goddess of Love for crying out loud. I love everyone. EVERYONE !
Heck, Hades was going to take a serial killer far earlier than his due date because he was messing up Hades' system but I had love for the man so I spared him another chance by giving him a wife that he comes to love. Hades strongly opposed, but what can he do. He can't hate me cause no one hates me. I'M THE GODDESS OF LOVE. I am Love itself.
But this god who does nothing but help other gods prepare for their battles, who protects us by building our safe haven, who has done nothing but try to show me how much he loves me, is annoying the hell out of me. And all I want him to do is leave me alone and stop pestering me with gifts he's handmade with his fire.
It's sweet, and I want to love him. I really do. But something about him doesn't quite click with me. I've thought on this for years... Decades... CENTURIES. But no matter what he does, I can't help but show him a pathetic look and turn away from his sincerity. And I regret it every time, but only long after the deed is done.
I see Chanyeol's face drop from the shy bashful twinkle in his eyes to the hurt puppy pout of his lips. His big eyes were visibly watering up. I can’t help but think he has too much tears. For a god who's very rough and beaten with his line of work, his heart is very gentle and fragile. I know for a fact he's going to go cry to Apollo, and Apollo will blame me for disturbing his work. And I know I will regret this later when I listen to Apollo tell me what I'm doing wrong, but as of right now, I can't wait to get rid of him.
"Haphaestus, I'm tired. You can give the flowers to Demeter or someone," I waved him in dismissal and looked away cause I could no longer bear to see his tears drop down from his eyes.
"You... want me to give fire to... the goddess of Harvest...?" I could tell Chanyeol's voice was confused, hurt, and shaky from his emotions.
"Hestia then," I snapped and glared at Chanyeol who jumped at my outburst.
I sighed at his timid attitude and so decided to try to talk him into leaving me alone as gently as I could.
"I'm tired, Hephaestus. Please. Leave me be," I tried to sound less annoyed then I actually was.
I turned away from him again and closed my eyes since keeping my eyes open made my headache worse which started when he first walked into my door.
"Okay..." Chanyeol choked.
I heard the sound of his footsteps make their way to the door, but then they stopped right before he actually left the room.
"Y/N, could you possibly call me by my given name...?" he asked softly, almost like a whisper.
"... Later ..." I sighed.
"O-okay..."
And soon enough, I heard him leave the room and shut the door behind him. I then opened my eyes and turned around to see the empty room. I sighed again at the playback image of his hurt expression. I felt my guilt crawl up to me. It's been coming faster than usual these days.
At first, I didn't feel a thing. Then Apollo started judging me, telling me how Chanyeol goes and tells him what happened, but he would never blame me for all the horrible things I've said or have done towards him, and that was the start of my guilt. It began to grow as he became more persistent. No, I may be lying. He might not be so persistent, and instead I might be the one who is getting short tempered for the same little things he's been doing.
But when I actually see him face to face, I get annoyed and don't even want to deal with the likes of him at all. Not even for a minute. Was it because I know I'm going to feel guilty later and so to save myself, I don't want to face him at all ? Or is it cause I don't want to seem like a fake ass bitch when I'm the goddess of Love and I should be giving love to everyone ?
These same questions and thoughts have been running through my brain since the beginning. But I have yet to find the answer. I don’t know how this even started. The first time I saw him was at the gathering of the gods about a few years after I arrived at Olympus. I knew he was the god of Fire and I’ve only heard of him. I wasn’t too interested since there were other gods like Ares, who was a hunk, and Apollo who was even better.
Chanyeol was known to be very dedicated to his line of work. I respected that he was so diligent but I didn’t have the urge to actually meet him. During one of the meetings the gods held about some problems amongst the mortals, I met Chanyeol for the first time. He was the only god I haven’t met so I recognized him almost instantly.
He was talking to his brothers Apollo and Ares. They seemed to get along quite well despite the fact that he was less godly attractive than the two. I was never one to judge by looks, but you would think Apollo and Ares would rather be around those who were equally attractive. But as I was observing the three, Chanyeol turned his gaze and our eyes met instantly. For a second, his eyes flashed dark red and I felt something turning in my stomach. It was very uncomfortable. I swallowed the lump in my throat with a troubled look and turned away from his stare. He was definitely different. It wasn’t that I didn’t like him. It was more uncomfortable for me to be around him, or better yet, him around me.
I walked out my balcony door and saw the view of Olympus. The clouds were spread far out, who knows how far. Olympus is full of gods and goddesses who own massive homes. Of course, there are those who don't live in Olympus, but we have more than enough already. I looked down from my balcony and saw that Chanyeol left my front door and was walking towards his own home.
But he stops his tracks, turns about 30 degrees. He seemed like he was going to take a step but stops and turns back 30 degrees again. I didn't have to guess hard to know what he was debating about. And sure enough it was about whether or not he wants or should go to Apollo's. After turning back and forth multiple times, looking like a huge idiot (since he has such a massive build), he finally decided he was going to go back to his house.
Even as he was walking home, I see him tripping on his own feet. Luckily for him, he didn't fall on his face. If he did, I was sure the guilt in me would disappear. But instead he didn't, catching himself quickly. And even though I was only looking at his back, I could tell he brought his hand up to his heart, trying to calm it down, since he clearly was surprised by his self-inflicted blunder.
"You're so stupid," I whispered as I shook my head.
I didn't want the image of him to linger in my thoughts any longer than the amount I’ve already seen so I turned around and went back inside.
I looked around my room, thinking of what to do to get the thought of him out from within me. It was still too early to go listen to prayers, but since mostly everyone prays to me, I was never out of prayers. And since I'm behind anyways, I decided to go to my temple and listen to prayers, answer a few of them if I deem acceptable, and maybe even bless a few unbelievers with the gift of Love.
-----
"What are you doing here ?" Chanyeol asked, clearly surprised to see his closest brother in front of his doorsteps, waiting for him even before he got back home.
"My sword has become a bit used. I was hoping you can tinker it a bit for me ?" Apollo shrugged with a grin. "And I was kinda bored. Thought I might spare you your emotions. Come, I know you went to Aphrodite today. Tell me what happened."
Chanyeol smiled in gratitude and invited the god into his home. The two went down to his work area to fix Apollo's sword as Chanyeol was going to tell him everything that happened.
"Why do you think she doesn't call me by my given name ?" Chanyeol asks, working Apollo's sword as if it wasn't anything difficult to him.
"Don't take it to heart, she doesn't call me by my given name either," Apollo smirked.
"But you don't need her to call you by your name," Chanyeol frowned.
"Touché," Apollo nodded. "Well, why do you want her to call you by your given name so badly anyways ?"
Chanyeol was silent for a while, still sharpening Apollo's sword.
"...Cause it's more intimate...? Everyone calls each other by their god names and it feels distant..." Chanyeol finally answered after about 5 minutes of silence.
"So why won't you call me by my given name ?" Apollo asked.
Chanyeol looked up and rolled his eyes at Apollo.
"I do, cause I love you, brother" Chanyeol chuckled.
"Yea... You do, actually," Apollo shrugged again. " Well, Aphrodite doesn't seem to love you then."
And with that, Chanyeol decided that if Apollo shrugs one last time, he's going to throw him out of his home and dull out his sword before giving it back to him. Cause he really needed to be reminded of the obvious. He turned back to his work in front of him as Apollo kept looking around, picking up little trinkets he's been working on yesterday and examining them with bored interest.
"Do you think maybe it's cause I'm not handsome...? I mean, she is the goddess of Beauty... I should at least be appealing to a certain point, don't you think ?" Chanyeol looked up to see Apollo looking at him with a confused look that screamed 'you crazy'.
And with that, his arm paused midway before hitting the hammer on the scorching blade in front of him.
"What...?" he asked uncomfortably, remembering to move his arm to hit the blade.
"You do know you're a god right ?" Apollo asked.
"I'm not stupid, Apollo," Chanyeol rolled his eyes as he kept working on the sword.
"You know, you already surpass the highest level of beauty a man could have-"
"Human man. I'm a god. And I know for a fact I am last in line when it comes to looks amongst the gods," Chanyeol corrected him.
"Don't be ridiculous. In my opinion, Hercules is the ugliest," Apollo joked.
"No one cares for your opinion," he scoffed, clearly seeing he's joking, since Hercules is one of the most popular beings in Olympus, and he's only a demigod.
"Is that so ?" Apollo's eyes gleamed. "And is that the reason why you always come to me for advice and even ask me if it's your appearance that's the matter ?"
Chanyeol's arm came to halt once again. His lips turned into a frown. He glanced up to see Apollo shrug and half of his face flinched in disapproval. Chanyeol's eyes rolled back to his work. He was almost done anyways. It was more work to dull the blade out now.
Apollo went back to waiting, bored out of his mind as he played with his fingers. After a few drumming on Chanyeol's carving table to the beat of his hammer hitting the blade of the sword, Chanyeol was finally done. He slipped the blade into the cool water next to him then pulled it out the check the blade. He quickly sharpened the sword and handed the weapon to his brother.
"Thanks," Apollo nods as he flings it around a bit on the side.
"Now get out of here," Chanyeol chins towards the door.
"What, no dinner ? I thought this was a date," Apollo smirks.
"Shut up. Go home. It's late," Chanyeol smiles, finding his friend's sarcasm somewhat amusing.
"Alright, I'm going," Apollo turns around. "I have to go set the sun for Artemis anyways."
"You left the sun up..? It's 3 in the morning for the huma-"
"For the gods, you idiot," Apollo shook his head and finally left the room leaving Chanyeol feeling like a fool.
Once he was left alone, Chanyeol sat down on the seat Apollo was in to review his work from last night. He wasn't the best at making fine jewelry, but he tried the best that he could, only hoping that Y/N will at least look at it twice. He thought about the roses he's made this morning for her. He left it with one of her maids asking her to put it somewhere Aphrodite will be able to notice it.
Of course it hurt how Y/N rejected his love, and not even once but multiple times. But Chanyeol couldn't blame her. She was the goddess of Love and Beauty. He couldn't help but fall in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her.
He's heard of her before she arrived. She was who and what everyone talked about before she even got to Olympus. Some say Hermes almost forgot how to fly when he first saw her. Hermes, the god who's seen more beautiful women than any of the gods combined. You can't blame him though, he couldn't help but see them cause he's the one who sends all those love letters and gifts to Zeus' lovers in his stead so that Zeus had a smaller chance of getting caught by Hera. Not that he's never gotten caught. In fact, he got caught every single time.
It took Chanyeol a few years before he finally met her in person. Unlike the others, he was always busy with his work, whether it's providing for the gods or for the humans. He believed that he wasn't the best looking god out there, so he gave up on love. His rough callused hands weren't the kind that any woman would want holding onto them, let alone a goddess.
Even still, Chanyeol was a romanticist. He dreamed of falling in love with someone who didn't mind his general roughness, or his cruel line of work which always leaves him sweaty and smelly. And when he heard of the goddess of Love and Beauty, he couldn't help but wonder if she would ever see him in love with a woman who loves him just as much.
What he didn't expect was to fall in love with her. Was it the fact that she was so beautiful ? More than the other goddesses he rarely gets to see only through meetings for important matters since he's working most of the time, even through parties. Was it because she was the first one who actually asked him a question about what he does ? Or was it only because she's the goddess of Love ? No matter who you were, you were drawn to her. Even Hades has a soft spot for her even though he says he loathes her and they argue all the time.
Whatever the reason, Chanyeol couldn't deny his obvious feelings. He tried many times to try to have her accept his love. But it wasn't easy. She's the most popular amongst the gods and goddesses, whether it be to the humans or the gods. It was always hard to approach her.
Chanyeol picked up the chunk of diamond he's been working on. It was the next gift he was working on to give to Aphrodite. And probably the last. Chanyeol sighed at the memories running through his head. All the gifts he tried giving her, all the times he's told her he loved her, all the glances they've exchanged. And it hurt to know that it was all one-sided. Of course, he knew that already. But it still hurt to finally have to let go of his feelings.
Chanyeol always felt guilty of expressing his feelings to Y/N. He wasn't sorry for his feelings, but he was sorry for bothering her with them. It always seemed to annoy her, how persistent he was. The last thing he wanted was for her to have any sort of negative feelings in her. And if he believed he was the purpose of it, then he would bring his love to a stop.
Chanyeol caressed the piece of diamond in his hand with his thumb as a teardrop fell from his eye.
-----
"My lady, there's a message for you," the maid interrupted.
I nodded, letting her know I heard her. But I don't take my eyes off the large glass orb in the center of my shrine. I had my arms crossed as I debated whether or not the man the girl is praying to me about is the right choice for her. Although he's not a bad man, and I'm sure he'll be good to her, I wasn't sure he would love her. It seems as though he sees her as a younger sister rather than a love interest.
Instead, I flung my hand to the right to move the orb to another prayer. This time, a prayer from a man who's praying about the girl before.  He's praying for her happiness rather than asking me for her love. Now, this man truly loves the girl. I could see that he treasures her happiness and well-being more than his own.
A smile crawled up at the edge of my lips and I couldn't help but feel the love this man has for the girl. It always made me happy to know there still were those who prayed for others than for themselves. I lifted my hand and slightly touched the orb. The orb glowed once but before it went onto another prayer, I gently tapped the orb twice and with that, the prayers faded away and all that was left was just a glass orb.
I turned over to the maid who was patiently waiting for me to finish and handed me the paper. After I thanked her, she bowed respectfully and left the shrine. I opened the piece of paper and read the message. It was from Zeus. He summoned me because he had important matters he needed to discuss with me. I raised an eyebrow, wondering what in the world he needs to discuss with me.
I walked out and summoned someone to get the chariot ready. Soon after, a maid told me that everything was ready. Once I got settled in, the driver started the chariot. It wasn't long till I reached Zeus and Hera's mansion. It must be the grandest of all the Olympian gods, and like always, I was in awe of the new decorations displayed outside the front steps.
A maid of the household lead me to where Zeus was and announced that I've arrived. When the doors opened, I realized it was a leisure room. To my surprise, Zeus and Hera were seated at a table on the balcony. Hera invited me in and I awkwardly  went forward. Zeus stood to open the seat for me and I sat down, still not understanding the situation.
Everything was out of place. Zeus at home with Hera, Hera smiling at me, and the two of them having tea. Together. I was seated in between them, so I kept turning my head from Zeus to Hera, then from Hera to Zeus.
"How was your day, Y/N ?" my eyes widened when I heard Hera's voice calling my given name.
"E-excu... F-fine...?" I stuttered, thinking it would've been rude if I asked her why she was being so affectionate.
"I'm glad," she smiled.
I was clearly shocked by her change in attitude towards me. Hera didn't really like me. Or so I believed since everyone told me she didn't like me. Of course, the reason being that I haven't married anyone yet. Being the goddess of Marriage, Hera would like nothing more than to see me settled down. She's not even my mother, but she definitely cares about my marriage more than my actual mother does.
"So... What was the important matter you needed to talk to me about ?" I turned to Zeus, taking a moment to avert my eyes away from Hera's sweet smile.
"You're mother, Hera, and I have been talking..." Zeus starts, forcefully trying to pull off a calming smile.
"Yes...?" I couldn't help but get a gut feeling of where this was going.
"It's about your-"
"No..." I cut Zeus off, with a bit of plea in my voice.
"You can't stay single forever Love," Hera came in.
"Oh, please no," now they heard the plea in my voice.
"Love-" Zeus started.
"You can't make me marry someone !" I burst.
"I'm sure you'll come to love him," Zeus smiled with concern.
And with that sentence, I knew exactly who they were pairing me with.
"Hephaestus ?!" I asked in disbelief, knowing he's the only one I didn't love among all the gods.
"Honey-" Zeus put a hand over mine, trying to calm me down, but I quickly avoided his touch.
"Really Zeus ?! Hephaestus ?"
"Love, please," Hera tried to calm me down.
I turned to see that Hera was mortified at the way I acted upon rage.
"I'm sorry," I dropped my head down.
I heard both of them sigh. There was a long silence before I felt a soft pair of hands holding onto my shoulders and a firm hand holding onto my hands that were clamped together on top of my thighs. I looked up to see their eyes full of affection.
"He loves you so much... I'm sure you know better than anyone," Hera softly reminded me.
My brows started to crinkle, trying to dismiss the unwanted feeling.
"And although he doesn't pray to you for the love to be returned, we know you feel his love even from separate homes," Zeus rubbed his thumb on my hands.
I sighed and averted my eyes away from them to see two birds having fun on a birdbath.
"And you know better than anyone that when the man loves the woman to the point where her happiness is more important than his own, then the love between them is bound to be filled with joy," Hera smiled with hope.
I sighed through my nose, not wanting to open my mouth to indicate I have something to say in this ridiculous matter. Honestly, I had a lot to say on this matter. But I can't oppose the god and goddess of all the gods.
"We know..." Hera assured me by gently rubbing my shoulders soothingly. "We know you're not ready to love just one god when you're the goddess of Love... But honey, you need to at least settle down."
I gazed into Hera's eyes and felt the concern she had for me. Coming from a similar line of work, I guess I understand a bit of where she's coming from. Sharing the load will lessen the weight.
"Plus, no one is telling you to be super committed to him," Zeus let out a laugh. "You're just like me ! Loving one person then moving onto the next ! Heck, I could be the god of Love !"
Hera's hands stopped instantly and her eyes glared at Zeus.
"That doesn't give you the right to go around sleeping with every female in the universe !" Hera exclaimed.
"Trust me honey, I haven't slept with EVERY female," Zeus scoffed.
"You do not want to test me, Zeus," Hera's eyes were blazing with rage now.
"This is why I don't want to get married," I sighed as I shook my head and stood up to leave, breaking myself free of their hold.
"Don't be like him, Love," Hera commanded. "He's just a playboy who can't keep it in his pants. I know you know better."
"But you love me," Zeus beamed a killer smile and Hera's face turned red; It could just be out of rage, seeing her expression wasn't that of a flustered lady being wooed by a handsome gentleman.
But we all knew what Zeus said was right. I felt the love from both of them to the other and it was definitely a very strong bondage between them. I told them it wasn't necessary to walk me out and so they wished me a fare trip back home.
As I was going down the steps of their home, I saw Chanyeol walking up. My eyes narrowed at the sight of his surprised expression, clearly asking why I was here. He was so easy to read, it was uncomfortable.
"W-what are you d-doing here ?" Chanyeol stammered, following me back down as I walked past him.
"What ? I can't visit them when I want to ?" I rolled my eyes.
"N-no, it's just t-that I-" he tried, but I was already stepping into my chariot and told the driver to go.
"Bye," I give him a hallow glance and then turned my gaze forward as the chariot started moving.
"O-oka- b-by-e," he waved quietly.
I have to live with that annoying stammer for the rest of my life...
I had no idea how many times I sighed on the way back home, but I'm sure I'll hold the record now.
-----
"What was Y/N doing here ?" Chanyeol asked his parents who were surprisingly together.
He couldn't believe his dad was actually home. It was his mother who called for him, saying it was an emergency. But seeing how the two of them were together and the fact that Aphrodite was just here about 5 minutes ago, told him something was up.
"Chanyeol !" Hera's face had the widest smile Chanyeol has ever seen in years.
"Hello mother," Chanyeol met his left cheek with his mother's right and puckered his lips to make the kissing sound.
"Eh-hem, I'm here as well," Zeus spoke loudly to get his son's attention.
"Sure, hey, what's up dad," Chanyeol nodded.
"Is that all I get ?" Zeus asked in disbelief. "I'm your father !"
"Well, stop flirting with other girls and I'll treat you like a father and not some pubescent little brother."
Hera couldn't contain a laugh from leaving her. Chanyeol was by far her favorite son. Only because he is more like her and not like his father who goes around trying to get every girl to lay in bed with him. And even her other sons were so confident in themselves, they go around wooing any girl they lay eyes on. She still loved them, of course. All of them. Even Zeus.
But Chanyeol held a special place in her heart. He works hard and keeps himself busy with his work. He loves 1 goddess and although she doesn't return his feelings, he is loyal to her. Hera can't help but believe that Chanyeol is the exact replica of herself. And so she wanted to do anything she can in her power to have him be with the only woman he ever gave his heart to, and will give his heart to.
Others say that she doesn't really like Aphrodite cause she's more beautiful than Hera was or that she was jealous of Aphrodite's popularity when Hera used to be the one closest to Love. But that wasn't the case. Even if Aphrodite was more popular than she was, or even if she was more beautiful than Hera, those were not the reason to why Hera has been so sour to Aphrodite.
It was all because her son, who is so much like herself, fell in love the same way she did. He fell in love with a goddess whose job is to love everyone whether romantically or innocently. And that was no different than her love, who goes around seducing others when she was waiting all day and night for his return to show her the same attention he gives to others.
Hera was the one who brought it up to Zeus, and the two of them agreed to talk with Dione together. Dione accepted their proposal right away, feeling content her daughter has the blessing from the goddess of Marriage.
"You what ?" Chanyeol stood up from his seat, unable to contain the panic from rising inside of him.
"She said yes," Hera quickly followed him up, trying to calm him down with the good news.
"And you let her ?" Chanyeol turned to his father, without fully hearing his mother's words.
"Yes, but-"
"I can't believe the two of you would do that !" Chanyeol cut Zeus from trying to justify himself.
"Honey, she said ye-"
"Great, now she hates me..." Chanyeol slumped back down in his seat. "I was already pushing her too far... Now there's no way we could at least be friends even after I give up on this unrequited love."
Zeus scoffed and shook his head. He reached for a bunch of grapes and popped on into his mouth. Chanyeol heard his mockery, but didn't think to bring it up. He was already depressed enough. Hera on the other hand, shot Zeus a glare for the millionth time today. Zeus caught her eyes as he was about to put another grape in his mouth. He put the grapes on the plate in front of him, understanding the meaning behind Hera's glare.
"Chanyeol, sweetheart...?" Hera cooed, placing her hands on his back with a motherly touch. "Y/N agreed to marry you."
Chanyeol flinched. He lifted his head and saw the soft sincere smile on his mother's face.
"W-what ...?" he stuttered.
"You're getting married," Zeus said, lifelessly.
"Fuck !" Chanyeol cursed as he stood up to leave.
"Hephaestus ! Language !" Hera gasped and called out to Chanyeol.
"Please mother, I'm thousands of years old !" Chanyeol shouted as he made his way out of his parents' home.
He quickly went back to his house. Chanyeol barged into his home and hastily went to his work area grabbing the right utensils he needs as soon as he arrived. He started working on his new project and kept working till he was content with his piece.
