You know what would be nice? If Sega ever bothered to re-release Knuckles' Chaotix again
You'd think it'd be a no brainer since it is a 2D Sonic game after all, and was made for the 32X which was basically an add-on to the Genesis.
We've had plenty of collection games, some of which even reference Chaotix, but never felt the need to actually put the physical game in there.
Even the release of Sonic Origins had the opportunity to bring it back, but didn't bother. The closet we've got was Chaotix gameplay mechanics being used in Mania (also Mighty as a playable character).
Speaking of which, if the Knuckles series ever gets picked up for another season, I hope we get to actually see Team Chaotix, as well as any other characters who could be associated with Knux like Tikal and Chaos or of course Rouge (who may or may not be in the next movie).

hiya there sorry if this seems like a big thing to ask of but do you know which sonic characters do have like, official halloween outfits? Like, have been officially published/endorsed by sega.
I know Metal has the Reaper, Shadow has the phantom-vampire hybrid looking costume, Rouge has the witch, Knux has the mummy and Omega is just a big ol' cute pumpkin.
hmm well it depends on what youd count as official by sega i guess, like if youre only counting stuff from games or if other official artwork counts too.. but ill just assume that anything from official media counts. so firstly theres a decent amount of halloween themed sonic channel art that has the characters dressed up:
i think theres at least one more sonic channel wallpaper of reaper metal sonic but im too lazy to track it down.. anyway theres also halloween skins in sonic forces speed battle and theyre all based on existing halloween looks but most of them are a little different from the original, heres the ones that are different:
and sonic usually wears a black cape for halloween art or events, sometimes he has a hat sometimes he doesnt
and theres also a halloween themed cover for an issue of idw sonic, here are the outfits that werent the same ones from existing halloween art:
the outfit amy is wearing is actually based on an outfit from sonic runners but i dont know if it was intended as a halloween thing before so i didnt show it .. also big and froggy are from an early version of the cover the final version replaced them with silver which is why amy and cream are on there twice
and theres also an upcoming idw sonic halloween special, since its not out yet there could be stuff im missing but we do get to see vector espio and charmys costumes in the preview
there could be stuff im missing but this is everything i know about in terms of official halloween costumes for sonic characters

for a long while when I'd visit my relatives on the chesapeake for a brief respite from the hells of home life, there was an odd beat-up little cardboard box sitting amid the plastic-cased ds games in the gamestop I'd always visit (rarely to actually get anything)
finally, one time before the journey back to hell, i actually had a scattering of bills in my pocket. after looking around at the shelves of shovelware (i didnt have enough for any of the proper titles like mario or pokemon), i finally decided to bring the story to a close and give the ragged little box a home
it was Sola-to-Robo, one of the rarest ds games ever published, possibly the most technically advanced engine ever devised on the system, and among the most unique and emotional experiences I'd ever encountered in a video game (which is saying something considering I'd already all but lost emotion by that point)
i barely remember it anymore, but for the time it became my favorite standalone game of all time (although it technically is part of a series, succeeding the PS1's equally obscure Tail Concerto)
I still dream of returning to it and seeing just how well it holds up from a more experienced point of view
the one thing i do remember is that it had and still has by far the most beautiful and powerful opening song of any game ive ever encountered, which is saying something considering the hundreds out there! it's up there with Atelier Meruru's Cadena
also the fact that when you beat the game, after the credits it goes "chapter 2" and there's an entire sequel within the game. altogether both parts are probably not longer than any other rpg, but on the original ds where full 3d action rpgs were resource intensive and typically limited in scope, it was mindblowing
also it apparently had like undefeatable copy-protection and to this day still requires a modified rom to emulate or even run on original hardware without a card?
anyways.... remarkable game. i was shocked to find that it's one of the most sought after titles on the system. in rarities ive personally enountered it's second probably only to Retro Game Challenge, which I encountered at regular price once in the late 2010s but didnt have the money for at the time... that's my "one that got away"

I've played about 11 hours of Sonic Frontiers now after getting it yesterday.
Who at Sega played Breath of the Wild and thought "this could be a Sonic game"
