Since we’re in agreement that Hasan doesn’t know what soft launching is, maybe him dating someone a bit younger who is more in touch with online lingo (streamer!gf who keeps him in the know with things lol) and he goes on stream one night and is like “chat, as you know there’s been rumors going around but I’m just making it clear now that I’m in a relationship with *firstname* *lastname* and we’re happy!” And your chat starts telling you he full on hard launched y’all while you’ve been doing soft launch stuff forever on your insta😭😭😭😭 so you go to him streaming and are like ???? It'd be like nine or so months into the relationship. You're at you're place, chilling for once, and you have Hasan's stream on in the background. That's when you hear him say it and you immediately start to head to his place. The minute you see him it's just an "Ayo Hasan, what the fuck?" He's just sitting there, still on stream like "what, in soft launching, like we discussed last night." Truly, an idiot.
Queue you lecturing him on what soft launching is for the next hour, hour and a half. The whole streams right after he kisses you. He does spend the rest of the night trying to make it up to you.

a while ago me and danny were talking about how kaz is apparently married with a child at the time of mgs1 and yet was not discovered dead in his own home for three days. so we came to the simple conclusion of divorce. and then i wrote a lot of fic about it. I think I posted about it a while back, but I never quite tagged for it, but this R29 article probably has the most succinct definition:
Soft launches are great if you’re not totally ready to shout about your new romance from the rooftops. "They’re a subtle way to show the world that you are no longer single or that you’re currently immersed in the dating process with someone," she says. "It’s almost a way to test the waters with that person too, about how you both would like to manage the snapshot of your relationship that shows up on social media." [src]
The term soft launch originates from marketing, wherein: "A soft launch, also known as a soft opening, is a preview release of a product or service to a limited audience prior to the general public." The marketing part is about the fact that it's there, but you have to stumble upon it more than a direct push to make people know about it. It's there but not actively being advertised.
Here's some more details about how people online typically "soft launch" their relationship:
Evie soft-launched her situationship by posting photos of her food and drinks while on dates with him. "I didn’t tag him or show his face," she says.
Soft-launching also mirrors the excitement of these early stages of a relationship – because although soft launches appear nonchalant, there’s an air of mystery about them which makes them exhilarating, too.
This one is funny too.
The term “soft launch” initially went viral thanks to a since-deleted tweet from Bottoms actor Rachel Sennott. In 2020, she aptly described the social media trend when she wrote: “Congrats on the Instagram soft launch of ur boyfriend (pic on story, elbow and side profile only).” [src]

I love the critical role abridged and the cooldown — that alone is worth the money. Especially since marisharayguns has retired, I believe? (which no ill will there, they are a boss and deserve to relax and enjoy cr as a fan.) because some episodes my attention will not hold and then I fall behind and dread the catch up.

so i'm writing an 8th year fic and h&d are taking a muggle studies class together in which they read one of shakespeare's plays, and i'm trying to write a final project (for which they are partners) but like. hogwarts academics don't seem all that uhhhhh rigorous to me (like we see the students complaining about having to write a foot of parchment which is essentially ONE PAGE HANDWRITTEN) and i'm a little worried that my assignment is too rigorous.
it involves a lot of like. thinking analytically and using your imagination wrt the motivations of people unlike yourself, and that's not rlly something they do much at hogwarts as far as i can see. BUT it is muggle studies, and like. they could definitely all use some practice at those skills, following the recent implosion of their society.
#i showed it to my spouse who is a hs teacher#'where are they getting the books for this research? are there wizarding books about macbeth?' no there are not#the professor chose macbeth bc it has these concepts that will be familiar to them like witchcraft and prophesy#but presented from a muggle perspective#and also bc shakespeare is foundational to english literature and culture and it's good to be familiar with his work#and also bc they don't have a lot of experience with art esp language arts which is so so so sad and this will broaden their world#and ALSO bc shakespeare wrote before the statute of secrecy was signed which hopefully sparks their imaginations#to what extent might shakespeare's work have been impacted by ambient magic? or rumors of magic?#and if they had like a regular english literature education#they could talk about like the role of outcasts in shakespeare's work and whether magical people fit into that role#but they do not so we have to be a bit more literal#for the students that are prepared to like dig into this stuff it could be a very engaging experience#but most of them will prob be a bit lazy with it right? and maybe just resent the assignment and not get much out of it#and like!!!!#this assignment is literally just an excuse to have H&D putting their heads together in the library#and bring their relationship/the fact that they've been warming up to each other and spending time together out into the open#in a plausible deniability sort of way#a friendship soft launch if you will#i get a little carried away about these details sometimes#like if i mention the characters getting sandwiches i will look up menus for places they could plausibly have gotten sandwiches in that are#to make sure the sandwiches i mention are reasonable sandwiches#i heard some dumb story about meghan markle freaking out about not being able to get avocado when she was in the uk#and i remembered a fic i had written where aziraphale and crowley eat egg and avocado sandwiches#and i felt ashamed#an implausible sandwich!!!!

Hello, dear readers <3
On behalf of Jessamine, I’d like to thank you for enjoying her writing. Unfortunately, my creator is still on a writing hiatus, though that certainly hasn’t stopped her from indulging in shorter stories—mine being a prime example.
I’ll be honest, though: I hate the idea that my life, my actions, my personality, are under the control of a higher being. That I’m just a character in a false world, a plaything of a fallen angel. I can only imagine how upset the other Darlings would be if they could find out.
Then again, I’m relieved to know that I have it much easier than them. I guess that is what happens when a Character is so cruel that even Jessamine must grant mercy to their Darling. And I’m flattered to know that some of you are in “love” with my character.
Also, I’d like to thank @throw-letter-away for your role in my creation. From what I’ve seen, your AU has brought my creator much joy and inspiration. On a personal note, I do find it fun to tease Jessamine’s depiction of Boss~
This will be “my” first and last message. Now that Boss’s lore has been revealed, Jessamine plans to flesh out my backstory and give me a proper dollhouse. As scary it is to become an official Darling, I do look forward to more outfits and stories. I just hope that Jessamine won’t add more feathers to my stuffing.
One more thing: Don’t let my creator know about this. And if you ever visit Jessamine’s home, say hi to the stylish doll with red hair and gold eyes. By then, I’ll no longer be self-aware, but it’s a nice gesture.
