can someone please tell me how on earth i am supposed to just move on doing shit now.

the tortured poets department. the tortured poets department. which sounds like that groupchat name joe awlyn had the “tortured men’s club” or smth like that. the cover and aesthetic being black and white again in contrast to the “i once believed love would be black and white.” 2 years in the making. which takes us back to grammys 2021 when she won for folklore…

folklore which had the running theme of poets and poetry. especially songs like ‘the lakes’ where she positions herself as a poet wanting to go where all the poets went to die. and then the little text on her instagram talked about MUSES saying “my muses acquired like bruises.” where else has she sung about muses??? that’s right THE LAKES. where her lover is her muse, and she doesn’t want to go to the place where all the POETS went to die without her MUSE.

the text she posted with the album cover is also reminiscent of midnights imagery. she puts an emphasis on the “tick tick tick” of a love bomb reminiscent of the ticking of a clock perhaps?? and the clock symbol was so prevalent in midnights.

“my talismans and charms” like a mythical thing? a champion ring?? one price she deemed to win?? she described willow as a ‘love spell’ when she was releasing evermore. now we have more imagery of charms and magic. a talisman is an object that’s usually portrayed as a necklace that has magical abilities of some sort used to ‘avert evil’…maybe like initials on chain round a neck…

all is fair in love and poetry. which comes from the idiom ‘all is fair in love and war’, replacing war with poetry. (“the bombs were closer. my hand was the one you reached for. all throughout the great war.” [that also just reminded me the ‘tick tick tick of love bombs’]. taylor has always fought her battles, internal and external, through music. by writing, through poetry. there is so much to unpack in just that sentence. all is fair in love and poetry.

and of course she is fittingly the chairman of the tortured poets department.

i genuinely cannot wait for this album.

random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad

first sketch > line cleanup > nearly final animation (i'd added slight eye movements last-second but otherwise that's the final)

I AM NOT AN ANIMATOR I AM JUST A HOBBYIST...#i animate like once a year... shits hard man.... but apparently when i do animate. its extremely good :) proud of that #even if i have an extremely unhinged way of animating #i don't have an animation program i draw everything individually frame by frame in photoshop #each character had their own psd file with the same background and every frame was its own group. twice. one for sketch one for colors #i do test takes with gifcam (there are literally 55 WIP gifs in my documents folder rn) by switching between layers and taking a 'frame'#and i compile in blender's video editor and to move things separately i save each character's frame in its own .png 'cel'#so luz was her own 'cel'. king was his own 'cel.' etc. and then i have to manually slide the lengths of the frames around #to match the right framerate. traditionally animation is animated at 24 FPS on 2's - so 12 frames a second. i go on 3s. 4 to slow down #anime-ass framerate. i'm insane apparently but its what i like to do #i dont understand real animation programs they have too many pieces but i DO understand photoshop and my funny brushes #imagine having Digital Programs and Still basically doing ye olde traditional animation method just in the computer #if im Just making a gif then i only use gifcam and switch between layers. like digital stop motion. somethings wrong with me

Designs for adult versions of the clone cadets in bad batch as Rebellion leaders

The first weird thing I noticed was that they kept specifying that tbb are "defective CTs", whereas iirc most other clones leave out the "ct" part. additionally, "special training" must have been a reasonably expected occurrence for them, since it was used as the Hemlock-jungle-lab excuse. they're also, oddly enough, the only three survivors from a base full of both cadets and adult clones. and finally, all three of them have noticeably different face shapes.

so my guess for their origins is that they're the results of the kaminoans trying to replicate tbb's mutations in a commando template, making them all specialized CC command cadets. From what we've seen of them, they don't seem to have quite as prominent abilities as say, wrecker or hunter, but are definitely above average to have survived that long.

Anyways the mini-backstory for them here is that they end up joining the rebellion around 5 years later (assuming that they're 6/12 and 8/16 in tbb s3, they would be 11/22 and 13/26 here) as the lead squad for the clone rebel cell after rex, wolffe, and gregor retire (and echo and cody are presumably dead).

Bonus: I originally had Deke's hair as dyed blond, but then he started looking too much like Rex (esp with the jaig eyes and partial arc armor) so I changed it back
