I've been watching the adventures of tintin 1991 with my sister and were watching the blue lotus part 2 and when Chang showed up I literally sat up in my chair and pointed at the screen like he was a famous actor. He has entered my brain forever, and I have you to thank for it.

for a character that popped up for only two adventures he left quite an impact on me too. I can imagine he'd make quite an impression when staying over in Belgium and making some appearances in the paper!

my sister was studying the opium trade and its links with colonialism so we were watching the 1991 cartoon episodes for The Blue Lotus and The Crab with the Golden Claws. I remember a) cringing every time Mitsuhirato appeared b) cringing at the voice they decided to give Chang and c) my sister turning around and looking at me every time a Chinese Musical Sting™ would play (we're Chinese)

you meet them for the first time,

knowing it's probably the last.

might as well make the most of this time,

since life comes at you fast.

you find the strangest of signals

in the no-network zones.

cross-tent communication with folks,

just rambling about the unknown.

there's the warmth of shared laughter,

that carries you through freezing nights,

and you look up at the flickering stars,

to finally see things in a different light.

and at 11,000 ft above sea level

you finally reach the peak,

just to realise the joy was in the journey,

and the friends you made that week.

you'll visit caves & splendid cafes,

and remember the city in mere parts,

but years later, you'll still tell everyone,

how dehradun captured your heart.

i love sunday mornings :) cam and i always walk to the grocery store together and get the same breakfast - either croissants or muffins, and he gets a chocolate milk and i get a coffee milk and then we put our groceries away and he does laundry and i put away the dishes and we watch something together, then we clean and do homework.

#today is especially perfect bc it's our favorite kind of day: it's eight degrees and snowy and blustery but perfectly sunny #half of my favorite memories with him are our winter walks. we saw incredible snow formations #bunny deer and squirrel tracks and a flock of fat robins #now we're watching little women and he's laying on me :) and we got special sodas for dinner and we'll have smoothies as a snack and aughhh #just happy today and i haven't felt really happy like this in a while #i hope everybody else has a great day too!!!!!!#salad dad

due to personal reasons rewatching some sumo eps &. in particular some lilie eps. & i know i must have said this before but man satoshi did not have a good time over the weekend the class had to swap partner pokemon. yeah, cool, satoshi trusted lilie & knew pikachu was in good hands, snowy was a delight to work with & they got along, great, mhm, one small problem: pikachu wasn't within his range of vision for 50h+. he was not having a good time.

#man did NOT sleep well #rocks up on monday all smiles but looking like he hasn't slept three nights. because he barely did. tuesday morning back to normal.#snowy's an angel but Thats His Emotional Support Mouse #a solid 1/3rd of the weekend was spent 🤝ing w snowy abt feeling Off without their partner #saw her unable to eat & generally vibing liliesick (homesick for lilie) & was just like me too girl #took her on walks n trained w her to distract Both of them from how off-balance they felt w/o their partners #during the last night snowy shuffled over to satoshi's couch to push her head under his overhanging hand n he got a solid 4h of sleep #ooc. pkmn is autistic culture.#i know for sure ive said this places but idr if ive said on this blog or if it's only on archives rn so #study.#yeah..

i have been sooooo depressed these past two days.......not entirely sure what's going on with that because it could be a number of things but i really wish i was still on vacation or at gavin's house rn </3

#upset gremlin noises #went from being in sunny warm l.a. to cold and snowy [redacted]#and i am being left alone for the entire day again which i know makes me feel shitty and insane #but also i was so depressed yesterday when my dad and brother were home too so i really can't win #i've cried like twice already today and i feel like i'm gonna start crying AGAIN #there was a brief period of time today when i felt like fine but for the most part i have been soooo depressed #idk if this is the bipolar disorder or the january blues or being sad i'm not on vacation anymore #or if it's being isolated in the woods again #or if it's because i need to do my shot because i missed last week's shot cause i was on holiday and didn't want to have to bring my stuff #with me because it's a hassle #or if it's because i miss my boyfriend so terribly....#literally just feel so fucking awful rn and idk why
