🌿Minotaur • Pothos Plant🌿
Day 1-3 of my Drawtober project for this year! Wanted to make a tribute to two of my favorite things to draw; plants and monsterboyfriends! 🥰
First out is a handsome older Minotaur who I imagined might be a sailor or adventurer. He has many stories to tell, and tells them gladly to anyone who will lend him their ears 😄
My prompt list is based on the 2020 slowtember list by @megaelod + me picking and choosing some monsters from a bunch of Monstober lists 🤗
Haven't been keeping up with tumblr, but I will be posting the rest of the lads I've drawn ASAP and keep adding the new ones as I finish them 🍃💛

Ah I totally forgot to upload my Slowtember drawing for days 1-3: Pothos! I’ve never drawn a plant before this so this was a huge leap of faith for me haha. Markers on bristol, slight noise reduction filter to smooth the paper grain.

Slowtember fill #1 - chill
For various reasons, chief of which is that Jake Parker plagiarized his book from a black artist, people aren’t doing Inktober. An artist on Twitter has created an alternative list of prompts. I can’t draw to save my life, but I want to get back into writing again. So, I’m doing Slowtember!

“Nile?”
She looks up from her book to see Joe standing over the couch. “What’s up?”
“I understand that ‘chill’ is slang for relaxing. But when I mentioned to Nicky we should ‘Netflix and chill,’ Andy snickered.”
Nile does her best to not laugh. Joe is a man of many languages, but sometimes Nile wonders if keeping them all straight doesn’t leave him any room for its evolution.
“I mean, she’s not incorrect. Remember when we surprised you two coming home early from the grocery store?” (Nile, to her dismay, blurted something about eye bleach and ran back out. Before the door closed, she heard Andy sigh and say, “We talked about this.”)
Joe shrugs, but not really apologetically. “There was no streaming involved, and I would not characterize it as, ah, relaxing in any way.”
“Oh my god!” Nile thumps the book on her head in exasperation. “I swear, at this point you have to be trolling.”
“How can I do something when I have no idea what it is?” Joe’s face is blank, but his eyes sparkle with amusement.
“Like I said,” Nile reaches behind her for a pillow and starts thwacking him with it. “An absolute! Giant! Ugly! Stinky! Troll!”
“I do not smell, Nile. I shower every day and apply the finest body lotions available at CVS.” Joe grabs his own pillow and waves it in what she thinks is supposed to be a threatening manner. “Take that back.”
“No.”
After the pillow fight, they slump against each other on the couch.
“So, this is chill?” Joe asks. Nile nods.
“It’s nice. Even without Netflix.”
“I have to agree.”
