While I personally feel if Tatum and Alicia were the only two partners available to Leighton, I would pick Tatum for her (healthier dynamic and the physical chemistry is far superior between T&L) as far as we know we’re gonna start the third season with Leighton and Alicia together. IMO, the writers are going to have to alter their storyline that gives Tatum a chance to say goodbye properly cause y’all what was that the last two episodes of S2? It’s clear they did not anticipate Tatum becoming popular. It would be interesting to see Leighton deal with having feelings for two different people. Have her realize that rushing back into a relationship with Alicia was perhaps not the wisest thing to do. We can all pontificate on who we think is better for Leighton and bring up things about values and ideologies and how different Alicia and Tatum are regarding those things but what you can’t account for is human emotion and feelings. We’re not robots. I know many of the Alicia/Leighton shippers like to dismiss this but Tatum wasn’t some random hookup like Leighton was used to in the early part of S2, they were in a relationship. Well when you’re in a relationship with someone, that means feelings are involved. I must say it was really lazy writing to have Leighton be so upset with Tatum at the women’s center and then turn around and act like it was nothing to break up with her to get back with Alicia. I get not having Leighton be devastated two season finales in a row but my goodness make it make sense. And the fact the breakup happened offscreen is not great on the writers end either. Tatum can’t stick around long because she will be graduating this season but she and Leighton can figure something out. And then we can all get the proper love triangle that eluded us at the end of S2.
