It takes Roier almost a full month of being kidnapped and escaping his cell to drag his Cellbit around the Demon Castle killing demons to use as comfy cozy bed things for him to find out that Cellbit is the literal actual goddamn Demon King. Aka the guy who singlehandedly killed over a hundred human soldiers literally like last year because they stepped onto his territory. Who is supposedly immortal and able to wipe out entire armies by himself. Who controls magics still yet unknown using evil demonic energy
…Who is a nerd and a cat and who gets grumpy when Roier doesn’t immediately seek him out after escaping from Melissa’s cell
Yeahhhhh, he’s not that scary. He’s even cute!
“Gatinho,” Roier calls him one night, and every servant in the castle freezes because the Demon King is known for lashing out and destroying whoever dares mention his… cat bits.
But the Demon King just laughs and blushes a little and drags Roier into another room to look for more feathers for “Melissa’s” new pillow, and this is when the castle realizes that they literally can never let “Melissa” go

Sleeping Beauty au where a historian named Cellbit goes to explore some ruins and finds a statue of a man sleeping in a bed made of vines. He knows there is a legend about the statues of this ancient kingdom, if you kiss one of them, they come to life. As a joke, he kisses the statue, wanting to take a picture and send it to his friends for the funnies
What he didn't expect, is that the statue would actually come to life in the shape of a prince, one he as a historian knows all too well, Prince Roier of the (supposedly) fairy tail kingdom

Okay, so Melissa is a princess, and she’s been betrothed to this noble’s son named Quackity for basically her entire life ever since she was adopted by the royal family at age six. She is. Not happy about this for a variety of reasons, but that’s only halfway important right now.
It’s Melissa’s wedding day, and she’s already halfway done escaping out the window when a dark shadow falls over her kingdom. Before she knows it, she’s being scooped up by demonic magic and spirited away to the Demon Realm to be held prisoner by the Demon King until her kingdom agrees to stay the fuck out of his land and leave him alone.
Or, well. That’s what’s supposed to happen.
Because, see, Melissa isn’t actually Melissa. The “princess” is actually Prince Roier, who’s been going by Melissa in public in order to allow him to escape from the castle and pretend to be a normal person. But the problem with this is that, well, nobody knows of a Prince Roier. Just a Princess Melissa.
And Roier is sick and tired of royal life. He never really wanted to marry Quackity, and Quackity only sort of wanted to marry him. But there are “rules” and “agreements” and, really, it’s all too much bullshit for Roier to deal with. So he’s glad he got kidnapped! At least in the Demon Realm he can get some goddamn sleep!
But, unfortunately for Roier, the Demon Realm isn’t quite as fancy as his castle back home. The beds suck, the food sucks, the water’s always cold, and it’s so freaking lonely down in the dungeons! It’s almost like he’s being held prisoner or something!
Luckily, Roier is ridiculously resourceful. Every night when the rest of the Demon Castle is asleep, he switches from his Melissa Outfit into his Roier Outfit and he sneaks out of his cell and steals food and sheets and pillows and everything nice just to make his room in the dungeons that much more comfortable.
He doesn’t usually run into anybody, but, one night, he ends up running from some guards and hiding in a library that he’s never seen before. This is fine, but. But there’s someone else there, seemingly also hiding from the guards behind some dusty old bookshelves. Hot. Sexy, even, complete with spooky eyes and fucking cat ears, of all things.
He looks at Roier. Roier looks at him. They come to a mutual agreement to leave each other alone, and that’s that.
Except maybe Roier starts sneaking around even more just to see this mysterious hot demon guy again. He doesn’t know who he is, but he’s definitely worth the risk.
(Meanwhile, the Demon King Cellbit is still trying to figure out where Princess Melissa goes every night. He keeps hearing reports from his guards of her vanishing seemingly into thin air, and, honestly? Cellbit isn’t even angry at this point, he’s just confused. Because. Since when do humans know magic??)

does roier eventually become a demon or is he just a weird human demon king
I think that legit half the Demon Realm already thinks he’s a demon because of all the demons he’s killed trying to get his bedroom all nice and cozy tbh, he’s a MENACE
So when Roier and Cellbit first get married, yeah, Roier stays human if only to keep up diplomatic relations with the Human Realm because he kinda ditched his long term arranged marriage deal with Quackity to snuggle up with the enemy
But when Leo gets old enough to start taking on the royal duties Roier left behind, then Roier starts begging Cellbit to let him be a cool sexy immortal demon, too! Like come on, Cellbit! 🥺
The way for a human to become a demon is for the human to give up their soul to the Demon King for him to add to his collection. And obviously Cellbit doesn’t want Roier’s soul to be in a cold dark Demon Vault with all these other souls :( He deserves better…
But Roier is stubborn and he knows what he wants, and he wants to be a cool sexy immortal demon king. So they do the deal, and Roier gets to spend a full 24 hours in agonizing pain after losing his soul and his humanity, but it’s chill because he gets cool spider eyes when he’s awake again, and that’s awesome

Because the Demon King is supposed to have horns and wings and a tail but this guy is. A cat.
And Princess Melissa is… a princess. Not a hot guy in alarmingly-tight pants.
Roier somehow figures it out first, and that makes him even more invested in making this guy his new best friend. Because if anybody’s able to help make his room in the dungeon more comfortable, it’s gotta be the… admittedly handsome Demon King

Rumor has it the Demon King eats souls. He tears flesh from bone and eats it raw and sometimes even with salt. He tears the heads off of babies and uses them as footballs.
Today, the Demon King is hiding from his Demon Advisor in his library because he doesn’t want to go to work.
“Maybe Melissa would be willing to hide me,” Cellbit muses.
Roier coughs. “She’s busy.”
Cellbit’s cute little demonic cat ears flatten in disappointment. He moans in despair and drops his head onto Roier’s shoulder, audibly smiling as Roier puts an arm around him and teasingly coos at him.
“Aww, poor gatinho,” Roier pouts. “Maybe you should’ve been the one kidnapped instead. Melissa is very happy about not having to actually do any royal duties or anything.”
(Honestly, it’s been the best vacation Roier has ever gotten.)
Cellbit shakes his head sadly. “Someone has to be in charge.”
“Let Forever do it. He’s basically running the realm for you, anyway.”
Because he is, really. Cellbit hasn’t exactly told Roier to his face that he’s the Demon King yet, but Roier’s been sneaking around the Demon Castle long enough to know that the role of the Demon King is more of a figurehead than an actual ruler. There’s the Demon Advisor, Forever, and then there’s the Demon Council, and then there’s whatever in the hells Felps does in the castle as the Demon Cleric.
Cellbit considers. He considers so much, in fact, that he wraps his arms around Roier’s middle and starts pressing sweet little kisses to the joint between Roier’s shoulder and his neck.
Roier squirms happily. He’s considering, indeed!

Heyy here's a thing. Yeah there might be more to come sorry... You did say you were ok with this right?
It's been more than 3 months since "Princess Melissa" was kidnapped, and the Kings have finally given in to at least negotiate the terms of surrender.
Although Cellbit is pretty sure they only agreed to it because they would have an opportunity to threaten him.
Cellbit arranged a plan with Roier in case of parley a while ago, though he thought it would be put into use much sooner. (Of course he insisted on coming to watch in case that ever happened)
Frankly, the fact that King Vegeta and Foolish waited this long for negotiations to even be considered instead of just sending really incompetent rescue teams while Roier could have been in danger for all they knew (given "The Demon King"s reputation) was making Cellbit's blood boil.
Somehow though, he isn't the angriest person in the room.
Roi- sorry, Melissa had been slowly growing more and more furious at her deadbeat ass parents the entire meeting. Foolish and Vegeta probably assumed he was angry at the two demonic guards pretending to hold him in place for appearances sake, or maybe they just didn't care.
The entire meeting they had refused to listen to a single word Cellbit had to say, and instead made various threats about sending armies to storm Cellbit's castle (which would have fared just as well as the last attempt) if he didn't return their daughter right this instant.
If Cellbit had been a less merciful man (and hadn't fallen in love with his kidnappee) Roier- no, sorry, the entire imperial kingdom might have been dead right now.
Roier just about had enough of this shit.
He turned to his beloved (who looked like he was about to pop a demonic blood vessel) and called, in his royal I'm going to behead someone voice:
"Gatinho?"
The whole room turned to face Roier in complete shock Cellbit included. They were supposed to play along with the whole "damsel in destress" thing because they had both agreed earlier that they didn't want the Kings to know about their... Relationship.
But then again nothing else was going as planned today, either.
"I'd like to handle the negotiations from here, please"
Roier's sickly sweet tone and smile barely disguising complete rage would have moved ancient primordial forces.
Cellbit gulped, and nodded to the guards to let Roier go.
Once his hands were freed he promptly matched up to his parents and slapped them in the fucking face.
Cellbit might have learned Spanish for diplomatic purposes, but he doubted even a native speaker would be able to fully understand the rapidfire scolding Roier seemed to be giving the Kings.
In all his years, the Demon King never thought he would feel sorry for the leaders of enemy kingdoms, but he was being proved wrong a lot lately.
(What a way to find out your son is in love with the Demon King huh?)

I'm just imagining someone suggesting that maybe they should try and figure out how roier keeps escaping and how melissa keeps disappearing but then cellbit wouldn't get to flirt so he says no its fine
The Demon King has an advisor, Forever, design reference from the show below because it’s just that important to me

And Cellbit is immediately like, “No, it’s fine, Roier hasn’t done anything, he’s fine. Don’t mind him. Shut up.”
And then Cellbit immediately leaves to go see Roier because it’s their usual meeting time and it’s the one thing in life that Cellbit has to look forward to these days

So I think that most of the servants know, especially the guards down in the dungeons who have to watch Melissa all day. But they’re legitimately terrified of the Demon King so they don’t say anything
They’re also scared of Roier because. Maybe the very soft sheets on his bed are made out of blanket-like demons. And the teddy bear on his bed is a teddy bear demon. And the pillows? Pillow demons. And they’re all dead and he can and will kill them because he doesn’t quite realize/care that they’re actually alive

Forever is so entirely used to seeing Cellbit in his True Form that he isn’t even intimidated at the glare and the growl he gets when he tries disturbing him. He just has to sit down in the Royal Demon Bedroom and whisper politics to a very annoyed Demon King and hope that the Other Demon King doesn’t wake up. Because Roier waking up?

Does demon Cellbit have a true form?? Like I can imagine he has Cat Features TM but I wonder if he did a full transformation if Roier would be into it or not
Oh yeah he has a true form as some huge legitimately terrifying dragon-cat-demon thing like the size of a building, but he can’t exactly rule like that. But, unfortunately for him, the demon bits that he can’t get rid of in his human-y form aren’t the cool demon bits, or the dragon bits. No, he keeps the cat bits.
It’s mortifying.
Roier has seen Cellbit’s true form exactly once and, honestly? He wasn’t pretty, but he was nice and warm and cozy and perfect for napping on

So Cellbit eventually starts picking up on it after starting to spend more time with Melissa, which he does after hearing that she’s been the one preventing the heroes from saving her and he’s super curious about that. But Cellbit’s also super in denial because he doesn’t like to think about the fact that his guapito may have been lying to him since their first meeting
But Roier eventually spills because he hasn’t exactly liked lying to him, either. It’s very dramatic, but they’re a very healthy couple so all that comes out of it is Melissa officially being moved to a proper room in the Demon Castle and them promising never to lie to each other again

The thing right is that the humans sent a rescue party instead of a ransom. And the rescue party has Quackity at its head
The humans are convinced this party of heroes can save the princess even though they really really can’t
But also Melissa is politely requesting that nobody burn her kingdom down until she gets an explanation, and she wants the explanation from her fiancé, Quackity
But also also Melissa is actively sabotaging the heroes in every way she can because she doesn’t want to have to go back and marry Quackity at all
