Saw another user comparing these two again because apparently all Disney fans do now is regurgitate other people’s opinions so I’m here once again to remind you that they don’t have the same face, you’re just racist.

Disney has white characters that resemble each other more than Isabela and Asha do, and yet I never see the same levels of criticism about them.

If you can’t tell two brown-skinned characters apart because they’re wearing the same colour, then who’s to say that you treat real poc with any more respect than that? The differences are actually quite easy to recognize but it would be terribly presumptuous of me to assume that all of you reading this were in possession of a functioning brain.

I agree that Disney could put in a larger effort in creating more distinguishable female character designs, but I genuinely believe that any resemblance between these two just comes from Disney’s habit of stylization.

Now in response to the other shit this person said:

Wish is a pretty boring name for a movie. Seeing as the movie itself pays homage to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, I feel like a similar name would have been awesome. Asha and the Wishing Star. Asha and the Kingdom of Wishes. Asha and the Little Star. Something like that would’ve been cute.

I’m tired of having adorkable main characters too, but there’s still time for Asha to prove us wrong and show us the what separates her from the others.

King Magnifico isn’t a twist villain, he’s been openly stated during some interviews to be the villain in Wish, and is heavily-inspired by Disney’s golden age of villains as well. Disney’s twist villains have done so much damage that even the simple-minded believe that any presence of an antagonist is “spoiling a twist villain” LMAO

I believe that we should all support Wish in hopes that Disney will continue to branch out into new art styles and experimental visuals. If it does poorly, and they fall back into the style of 3D animation we’ve been getting since 2010, I’m blaming everybody that talked shit about this movie.

Anna did the next right thing, but did Elsa?

I just saw the movie today, and it left me with a couple questions. Of course I loved it! But I personally think that the story should’ve ended a bit differently. After Anna’s plan to have the earth giants destroy the dam, I think that Elsa should have let the tidal wave destroy Arendelle castle.

(The whole “Elsa saves the castle with her new powers” thing just felt a little too white saviour for me personally, and honestly was a little boring. Like when she was riding the Nokk on the wave and suddenly stopped it, some people in the audience I sat with were like “oh, that’s it?” and then the scene was over. I mean, yes, Elsa looked gorgeous and I was happy that everyone was safe but I feel as if it really could have been more impactful had the castle been destroyed/washed up like these are just some thoughts)

Having the castle destroyed could have been symbolic of Anna and Elsa destroying the legacy their grandfather had built, which caused so much suffering in decades past. Runeard’s castle was a place of fear and isolation for Elsa, and was built upon the foundation of lies, xenophobia, and literal murder. The innocent leader of the Northuldra was slain in cold blood, which brought forth a series of events that eventually lead to people from both sides of the conflict being wrongfully imprisoned within the forest, just for his castle to stand where it had.

The destruction of Runeard’s castle would have shattered the image of the good king he was made out to be, and it supports the whole “true to myself” slogan they’ve slapped on half their merchandising. It would have given Anna a chance to build a new legacy for herself, one that represents open doors and zero secrets. Rebuilding Arendelle castle paves a path for a new beginning, and could really make a lasting impact on the history of their kingdom.

Like they had this whole reconciliation story arc but they didn’t even go that far with it I just-

It would also have been a great moment for a reprise to Some Things Never Change, where they sing about some things changing for the better. It would’ve shown a montage of events between the sisters adjusting to their new lives away from one another. Anna’s coronation, Elsa’s responsibilities as the fifth spirit, Anna seeing to the reconstruction of the castle, Elsa helping the Northuldra readjust to live beyond the most, and etc.

I just genuinely few like the ending could’ve closed a couple more lose threads than it did.
