alright everyone the bit is over

So the idea for this charm is that the dark red segment is a mock-up of the sand that will be in the actual, physical product. The lighter red will be a printed layer on the front of the design, the same layer of acrylic as Fenn. It'll be either see-through or with a solid bg based on the look of Fenn's flask. Any opinions on transparent vs solid bg?

There's little reason to suggest it's NOT a Gear, considering how many Swords it was impaled with, not to mention all the chains and bandages (and mages maintaining the seal).

According to some vague info from Lightning the Argent, Kliff Undersn used to seal Gears on ley lines (sometimes known as Dragon Veins) which is a kind of geomancy where objects are lined up along the land's surface to follow the flow of the land's energy.

It's vaguely similar to manipulating one's flow of Ki, only in this case the geomancy (or land energy) is used to help maintain the seal.

Still, it's not like Demihumans (Youkai) weren't also sealed away in some circumstances, depending on the situation... it's just that Gears were more common to be sealed because of the natural threat they posed at that time.

it would be pretty interesting thematically if ruidus was created or pulled through to the material plane to fuck with arcane energy as a means for the betrayer gods to take away or disrupt the gifts that the prime dieties gave mortals, (see: the arcane made possible through leylines which are celestial in nature bc of the luxon), and then potentially repurposed for “good” / re-shaped by the prime dieties to maintain the overall cosmic balance & protect the material plane from powerful forces such as elemental chaos, (and/or seal something away). it would just kinda make sense that the intrinsically celestial geomancy of exandria would be influenced by celestial solstices, and as a result, the introduction of ruidus into that system became a weapon that either limited mortals’ connection to the arcane or emboldened the chaos, and then reshaped to reinforce certain barriers
