Who Cares?

Fandom: Jacksepticeye

As soon as Chase closed the door to his bedroom he flopped onto the bed, his smiling and laughing expression he wore seconds ago with his family immediately replaced by a somber one. He took long, deep breaths, having a staring contest with the ceiling (it of course won). After... well he couldn’t tell how long he laid like that - time seemed to slow and drag on forever but also go way too fast - he spoke so softly to himself that he barely heard himself speak. “Am I really depressed? Or is it just that I’m reminding myself that I’m supposed to be sad? I was just out there with everyone for hours and wasn’t sad at all. Am I just faking it?” A lone tear escaped from his eye and he didn’t bother to wipe it away.

He heard his phone vibrate, but didn’t bother to check it. The only person that would be calling him is his therapist’s office, attempting to confirm a meeting he already planned on skipping. He went to one to humor Jackie, and of course he had to schedule another visit, but the whole time he knew that he wasn’t going back. He would just be wasting his therapists time, and taking up space for people who really needed therapy.

His room wasn’t far from the room where all the other egos were still gathered - he told the others that he was going to his room to plan the next bro average video (which he really should be doing anyway) - and he could faintly hear some conversations. From what he could piece together, they started playing Cards Against Humanity and somehow Jameson was winning, even though he didn’t understand most of the cards. He could tell that they were having a lot of fun - a lot of fun without him.

“Would anyone even care if I-“ he spoke, again, barely audible (he wondered if he even vocalized the words, or if they halted in his head). He had to stop himself short, not daring to finish the thought. “Chase you idiot, you already tried to do it and you know what outcomes you would get. Doc would blame himself if he couldn’t save you, Marvin would lock himself away in his room and refuse to come out, Jackie would take out all his emotions on fighting villains that were unbeatable, at least in his headspace, and Jamie would...” he trailed off, biting his lip. “That’s right... he wasn’t even here when I did it...” Chase blinked and violently shook his head. “PMA Chase... PMA... PMA... PM- ya know they can shove that up their arse. I need a fucking drink is what I need not some positivity bullshit,” he grumbled, going back to further examine his closet. There had to be something...

Huffing, he picked up a pair of shoes, put his hat back on his head, and wiped any evidence of tears off his face before walking out of his room. He took a deep breath right before he got to the room where all the egos were gathered - he was right about his guesses as to their activity - and strode to the door. Jackie looked up from the game as Chase walked past to get his coat. “Hey Chase, what’s up? Where’re ya going?” He sensed something off about him (but it could’ve just been paranoia) and needed to make sure nothing happened to any of his brothers.

Chase blinked. He didn’t expect any of them to notice and now all of them were staring at him and- ‘deep breaths’ he thought to himself. “I’m just... going for a walk. I’m stuck on trying to find a new idea and... need to clear my head.”

If Jackie still had his doubts, he kept them to himself. “You have your phone on you right?”

Chase held up his phone as evidence, giving a “yup” in response. With that, he walked out the front door. “Of fucking course it’s raining,” he muttered, heading towards one of the bars in town. He knew better than to try any of the ones close to the house, as they knew him and wouldn’t contribute to his addiction. Finally, he ended up at one that he didn’t even know existed, and figured it was worth a shot. He walked up to the bar and sat on the stool, surveying his options, pupils dilating by simply looking at the bottles. He told the bartender to “keep em coming until I’m so plastered I’m falling off the chair.”

The bartender eyed him, as it was 4:30 pm on a Tuesday, but didn’t question it, besides offering a “rough day?”

Chase nodded to that, “I guess you could call it that.”

The bartender handed him his drink. “If you want to just drink your cares away, go ahead. But if you want an ear then I’ll be here.”

Chase took a long swig, then registered what the bartender was saying, growling slightly. “I don’t need fucking therapy.” He finished his drink and felt his phone buzz in his pocket.

Baby Bean: “Hello Chase, it’s Jameson. Please do let us know when you will be returning. Marvin wants to know when he should begin making dinner, as he does not want your food to get cold, although given his history, you might be better off eating while you are out! 😆 I also should tell you that, while I do not know for certain, I think that some of the others are fearing that you are out getting bent, but if you say you’re just going for a walk, then I believe you! ☺️💚 Have a swell rest of your stroll!”

Chase sighed, grabbing the phone with his other hand. ‘What do I even say to this?’

“uh idk when i’ll be back. tell marv not to worry about me and not to burn the place down. also ty jj it means a lot that u trust me like that. i just wish the others would too” he deleted the last sentence, not wanting his brothers to feel guilty over not trusting him, especially when they had every right to be doubtful - considering he was actually at a bar. It also hurt to see that Jameson trusted him, because that meant he was betraying his trust, and he drank another glass at the thought.

About 20 minutes later, he felt his phone vibrate again. Judging by how it was many texts all at once, he assumed it was Marvin before he even pulled out his phone.

Magic Man: “Hey”

Magic Man: “I’m making dinner rn”

Magic Man: “It’s mac and cheese and whatever frozen chicken we have”

Magic Man: “Jamie said u were taking a longer walk but like it’s raining out and I don’t want u to get sick”

Magic Man: “Plz respond Chase”

Magic Man: “U there?”

“yo chill marv”

“i stepped inside a store to get out of the rain”

Magic Man: “Do u want one of us to pick u up??”

Magic Man: “If u lmk wya I can teleport to u”

Magic Man: “Or I’m sure Hen or Jackie would drive to get u if u just wanted to drive back”

Magic Man: “Ik how u feel abt teleporting”

Chase bit his lip before downing another glass. He forgot exactly what he was drinking, but it was alcohol and that’s all he cared about. He didn’t want to tell them that he was at a bar, not even thinking about how anyone could see or smell that he was drunk from a block away. He got another drink and almost forgot to respond before another message came through.

Magic Man: “Chase?”

Magic Man: “Plz just tell me where u r so we can pick u up”

“what so u can make fun of me??? nope i’ll b home later. i’m gonna stay here a bit longer then WALK home”

Chase put his phone away, not wanting to see Marvin’s response and just wanting to see more alcohol in his hands.

It was probably about an hour later when the bartender finally cut him off. He said that he was told to stop him when he looked like he was going to fall out of the chair and so the bartender wasn’t going to let him have any more. Plus his boss would be pissed if he let Chase leave any more intoxicated than he already was.

Chase stormed out of the bar and back into the rain before realizing he had no idea where we was. He looked around and tried to find something familiar but came up with absolutely nothing. He started walking in one direction, but it felt wrong, so he started in the opposite direction, which also felt wrong. So, he did what anyone else in his situation would do - he cried in the rain on the sidewalk of a basically empty street. After he felt he cried all he could, he looked at his notifications.

Spider-Man 2.0: 7 unread messages, 5 missed calls

“Shit.” Chase mumbled, scanning through the messages.

Baby Bean: “Hello Chase, Jameson again! 😊 You haven’t responded to anyone and we are all very worried about you. I’m hoping that your cellular device simply ran out of charge, but Jackie is informing me that when he tries to call you it would not ring as long as it is if your device has run out of battery.”

Baby Bean: “Chase, it’s Jameson. Where are you? I am getting increasingly worried for your safety, as is everyone else. Please respond to one of us.”

Ze Best Doctah: “Chase are you alright? You are scaring all of us. Do you need help? Or a ride? Marvin said you would not tell him where you were. I am praying you are not at a bar but right now I don’t know what to think. I trusted you would be smart and safe but now I’m not sure if you were either. Please call one of us when you see this.”

Magic Man: “Chase y do u think I would make fun of u?”

Magic Man: “R u ok?”

Magic Man: “R u mad at me?”

Magic Man: “Chase plz answer someone”

Magic Man: “If I said smth I’m sry”

Magic Man: “Just plz come home”

Magic Man: “Chase?”

Magic Man: “Ur dinner is getting cold WHERE ARE YOU”

Chase weighed his options between who seemed the least pissed at him. Marvin and Jackieboy were obviously out. He didn’t particularly want to call Anti either. That left Henrik and Jameson. He went to the contact and pressed the call button. It barely rang before it was picked up.

“CHASE!! VERE ZEE FUCK HAFFE VOU BEEN??” Henrik shouted, his accent the thickest Chase has ever heard it, barely understandable in his drunken haze

“I’m sorry Hen” he slurred

“Chase vere are vou? Are vou fucking betrunken?!”

“Hen, Hen what? I-I don’t know what... what you’re saying.”

“HES ASKING IF YOU’RE DRUNK ASSHOLE!” Jackie shouted. “You’re on speakerphone you dick!”

Chase couldn’t see it but Jameson was trying to tell Jackie to calm down.

“OH FUCK NO THIS IS AS CALM AS I’LL BE JAMIE!”

Chase sat down on the sidewalk, leaning against a building. “I’m not fucking drunk,” he slurred

“Tell that to your voice.” Marvin piped up.

“Fiiiiiiiineeeeee mayyybeee I had a drink or few. Happy?”

“How many is ein few?”

Chase snorted and started laughing like that was just the funniest thing ever. “Fuck if I know, I wasn’t counting.”

“Chase where are you?” The static behind the phone let him know it was Anti and he whimpered.

“You’ll be mad at me...”

“WE’RE ALREADY MAD AT YOU DIPSHIT!” Jackie yelled. Henrik left the phone on the table while he grabbed his shoes and a jacket, figuring that because Chase called him, he should be the one to get him.

Chase suddenly got quiet. “I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know?” Marvin furrowed his eyebrows.

“I mean I’m lost... that’s why I called... I was at a bar, then tried to walk home and got lost.”

There was silence for a little while. Marvin suddenly stepped towards an open area of floor and started mumbling a spell. “He’s on the corner of Center Street and Behmer Drive. A block down from a bar.” Henrik nodded, grabbing his phone and getting into the car.

“Chase stay on ze phone ja?”

“Okayyyy.” Chase yawned. “Hen I’m tired.”

“Vell I vill not carry vou in so vou need to stay avake”

“But I’m sleepyyyyyyy” Henrik sighed, driving as fast as he could without getting arrested until he saw a familiar figure all the while trying to keep said person awake. He pulled over and got out of the car. Chase stood up, but he stood up too quickly and vomited, luckily for him none of it got on Henrik. As soon as he was done, he was ushered into the car.

“I von’t um... vhat is that expression? Chew vou out now, vou vill certainly get enough shit vrom Jackieboy and Marvin.”

“Thank you,” Chase mumbled, the heat of the car feeling nice on his cold wet body.

“Und vour hangover und sickness vill be more zan enough punishment tomorrow.”

“I’m real sorry Hen.”

“Zat is vhat vou zaid last time. Und vou did it again. Vou must earn mein trust back Chase. Jamie’s too. Und vou vill be lucky if ze ozers trust vou again soon.” All of a sudden, Chase broke into sobs. He thought he didn’t have anymore tears left in him, but apparently he was wrong.

“Please don’t make me see them Hen... I’m just so weak and pathetic and you all are important. All I have is... is... I’m just useless. What have I ever been besides a nuisance? With all my whining about Stacy, over reacting to a couple sad days and calling it depression, my-my bad habits and self destructive tendencies... I’m surprised you all still keep me around,” Chase’s whole body shook with his sobs.

There was a lot to unpack there and Henrik had no clue where to start. He pulled into the driveway and put the car in park, turning to face Chase. “Chase... how long have vou been feeling like zis?”

He just shrugged. “I dunno... a while now, maybe a year or so?”

“Vhy didn’t vou say anyzing?”

“I was scared you would realize your mistake and kick me out.” He mumbled. It was quiet, but Henrik heard it loud and clear.

“Ve vould never dream of it Chase. Vou are far from useless-“

“Oh yeah? Name one thing that I’ve done that actually helped!”

Henrik went silent as his brain tried to think of a good example that wasn’t easily written off because he knew that anything he said would be torn to bits anyway.

“Thought so.” Chase shook his head. “I actually thought you were gonna say something too. Guess I can add moron to the list.”

“Chase stop-“

“Oh look, I’m being a bother yet again. Shocking.” He got out of the car, slamming the door, puked in the grass, then went inside, ready to be reminded yet again of how weak and pathetic he was.

The second he opened the door was the second the yelling began. He didn’t even bother protesting because they were all right. He screwed up, could’ve died, worried them all.

“Do you have ANY idea how scared we were?! I thought I was going to get a call from a hospital that you were hurt or DEAD! We all were so worried-“

“I DIDN’T ASK YOU TO CARE!” Chase snapped.

“WELL SCREW YOU TOO! I’m your brother!” Jackie fired right back.

‘Ok I think that’s enough’ Jameson tried to intervene, but of course, nobody was paying attention to him. Well, nobody except one person who did happen to notice. Anti stepped in between the two.

“That is enough.” His voice caused everyone to stop yelling, Jameson signing a small thank you towards him. “It seems like Chase has already berated himself over and over, haven’t you? I’m not inside your head, chill out, but you’re fucking screaming it with your body language. You seem to forget that you all can’t hide anything from me. And, I can assure you Chase, you aren’t faking anything, and we all would care.

“Don’t you see? Look around you Brody! Jackieboy is yelling at you because he was scared, and cares so damn much about you. Marvin had so much anxious energy that while he was pacing he started to fucking glow. Yes Marvin, I saw that. Jameson wasn’t signing anything, he just retreated into his mind again, like he always does when he’s worried. Henrik was prepping his work station just in case you came home half dead and was shaking so much he dropped half his equipment. And I-” Anti took a deep breath “I was glitching so much I disappeared for a little bit, just static filling my place. I’m still glitching a lot, and it is taking all of my energy to stay present enough to knock some sense into your drunken mind! We care about you because we all have no idea what we would do without you here!” He balled his hands into fists, and stared down Chase, watching him deflate even more than he already was. He shook his head, retreating to his room where he resumed his excessive glitching.

Jameson was the first one to recover. ‘Chase? What did Anti mean about “you aren’t faking anything, and we all would care”?’ When he was met with a blank stare, he sighed and looked to one of the others to translate. Marvin was the one to interpret for Chase.

“I... I had it in my head that... that I was just faking my depression... that I was just sad a bit. And that... that nobody would care if I... if I... tried again.” Everyone in the room but Jameson understood, and Jameson wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to know. His mind supplied an answer and he didn’t like it. Jackie was the one to walk over to Chase and engulf him in a hug. The rest soon followed, and Chase began to cry again into Jackie’s shoulder. After a while they one by one let go, and Chase looked between them all before going to his room and passing out on his bed.

– in your first year of college you always sat beside mark in this one class you had but you didn’t even know his name – you always thought he was cute as shit though and told your friends about him – every now and then the two of you talked but only ever about college stuff – exchanging notes and asking for pens and so on – but after the first year you realized that your current major just wasn’t for you so you changed it, never seeing mark again – until one year later your friend convinced (if not almost forced) you to get tinder – isn’t that always how it starts.... – you weren’t even interested in dating but she was like just get some dick at least – so you agreed but only to make her shut up, not thinking you’d actually use it – until this one guy swiped you right and your heart skipped a beat – so you finally found out his name was mark, how cute, it fitted – having a crisis you immediately showed him to her – “this is the cute guy i used to sit next to!” – she laughs at you because you were so overwhelmed, not knowing what to do – “you know you could just.. match him?” – so you did and not even five minutes later he send you a message – ‘omg how funny to meet you here. did you stop studying physics?” – not in a hundred years would you have thought that this was how you’d meet your boyfriend – your friend still teases you about it because you were so against using tinder – mark also teases you about it tbh – anyways he immediately asked you for your number and you started writing 24/7 – somehow you never manage to find time for each other though because damn college gets stressful around that time of the year – one time you talked to him for seven hours at night on the phone – also he always calls you late at night when you have to walk home alone just to be sure – but after you completely failed your one class and wrote him about how frustrated you were he was like – “ok you know what fuck this presentation i have to prepare i’m coming over and will distract you a bit” – when he wrote that you weren’t aware that distracting you a bit meant heavily making out after not even twenty minutes into this random ass movie you watched on netflix – since that day you and mark were a couple and what a happy one you were – shyly admits that he immediately deleted tinder after getting your number – what! a! softie! – all of his got7 friends constantly tease him about being in a relationship – but secretly are so happy for the two of you – jackson acting over the top whenever you two just look at each other is a thing – “so cute i’m dying”, jackson at some point – mark knows he should force you to study but... – always makes you chill with him instead and feels bad about it hshsh – “i don’t want you to fail your classes but.. we should get mcdonalds right now you know” – knows your schedule better than you do – constantly rants to you about how stupid his profs are – sometimes doesn’t take you serious when you’re stressed or mad – but loves you so much actually

– you were more than shocked to see jaebum in college again suddenly – the two of you went to the same middle school – you never really were close but damn – that boy still looked fine and now he was an adult – and you both were single now – so when you two saw each other you immediately were like – maybe we should grab a coffee to catch up sometime? – and you did... even at the same evening – jaebum was so handsome you wanted to die – plus y’all were getting along so good that you didn’t even want to go home – but you did because you just met this guy – as you said goodbye he was a nervous wreck – because he definitely did enjoy this evening and would like to see you again – so the next morning he came over with breakfast – in sweatpants and a big hoodie, hair all over the place – suddenly you understood what this uwu term meant – this breakfast date was the softest, y’all watched spongebob and discussed old tv shows – after he left because he had to go to class you genuinely felt butterflies in your stomach and you hated yourself for how cliche that was – immediately wrote you after his class – “wyd tonight?” – so that’s the story of the first time you stayed over at jaebum’s – a few kisses were shared but nothing more – but a week later you were already calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend – amazing sex especially after college partys – he’s so in love with you it confuses him – will wait for you in the coffee shop next to your classroom every time – sometimes he’s a pain in the ass though – is ready to fight you whenever he gets jealous – but always apologizes later – you two have very different majors and always tell each other about the amazing things you learned while the other one has seriously no idea what’s going on – but it didn’t matter, you still enjoyed seeing him being so passionate about what he was doing – “you know (y/n) i’m really happy we met again” – everyone on campus knows the two of you belong together – lots of girls lowkey want jb bc look at him but you luckily didn’t have to worry about that – literally doesn’t give a fuck about any other girls – whenever you’re at parties he’s the biggest flirt – will make out with you in the bathroom as if y’all haven’t been dating for an eternity – tbh it’ll never get boring with jaebum

– basically he’s your dormmate which is good and great – y’all get along just fine – no fights or drama – he even helps you with your essays every now and then – regular netflix nights are a must – makes sure you eat, even cooks for you when you come home late for work – your friends are pretty sure y’all are dating – but jinyoung and you just roll your eyes at that – even his friends, mostly mark and jackson won’t stop teasing him – you guess that’s what you get for moving in with a guy – but you literally never were flirting which each other or anything – the two of you just seemed to become very close friends – so long story short living with jinyoung was nice – except for this one thing that bugs you so goddamn much – the girls he brings home every weekend – not only are most of them dumb as fuck – and you don’t say this to be mean, it was true – even jinyoung said so – but also they were sooo damn loud – like jinyoung must know what he’s doing according to their screams – ugh you hated it so much – you constantly fight jinyoung about it but he just laughs it off – “(y/n), you have to get laid” – “thanks jinyoung, i’m aware of that” – one time when you were discussing his loudness he massaged your shoulders and told you that you need to relax more and the moment his hands touched you it sent shivers down your spine – but suddenly you noticed that jinyoung stopped bringing girls home – and you were like ??? what’s going on – so on this one saturday night you were sitting on the couch with him, binge watching house of cards – as you finally confronted him about it – “you know i just want smth more serious but idk how to get that” – “have you tried asking a girl on a date?” – “i thought i’m on a date right now”, he said as if it was nothing – so basically that is how y’all started to go out every now and then – netflix dates soon became bigger and more romantic – cinema, then restaurant, one time you went to an amusement park – no one ever asked the other one officially out – but one time jinyoung introduced you as his girlfriend and everyone around you including you went ??? – he constantly forces you to study – will pick you up from your 9 pm classes just to be there in case – he’s aware of how douchey guys were but not with his girlfriend – teases you all the time but you got used to it and played along – the two of you always laugh so much but mostly about each other – it was nice that you could just make fun about the other one without someone being offended – thousand of inside jokes only you two understand – secretly the biggest softie though – tells you how much he loves you during sex – also tells you how goddamn beautiful you look under him – one time you wanted to get a tutor but jinyoung found out he was male and he didn’t like that at all – “but (y/n) that’s how all the love stories in the movies start i can’t let that happen” – besides his lil jealous side the best bf you could ask for – hypes you up no matter what even if he knows you have no idea what’s going on – tbh everyone on campus knows and likes him – has had some girls before you and he always gets embarrassed when someone talks about them in front of you – doesn’t want you to be reminded of his fuckboy past – it’s strange for him to be vocal about you and him – not bc he doesn’t love you just bc he never was in a serious relationship – will literally do everything for you tho tbh – he’s like – “yeah i wanna become more mature for her” and all that shit – he hates himself for how cringe it sounds but he just wants you to feel appreciated and safe around him

Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know? Yes… Pretty much the whole region knows.

On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets? A couple Pokeballs, a few Pokedollars, and maybe a Potion or smth.

Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams? He often dreams of things that happened in his memories. This can be with or without Mewtwo’s influence.

Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares? He’s never really been scared of the kind of nightmare where there’s a boogeyman or monster or anything, but his friends/family/Pokemon getting hurt/dying will always leave him broken down and crying.

Hmm… Probably when he realized the Missingno would’ve cut through Pallet Town, before they called and made sure his mother was okay. He never really gets scared for himself, and he knows his Pokemon and Green can hold their own, but his mother… Arceus, he was terrified for her.

In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been? Any moment when he’s with Green and there’s absolutely nothing going on at the time.

Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way? Blood from scrapes and cuts? Nah, not really. From abuse, though? And serious injuries? They make him feel sick to his stomach

Does your character remember names or faces easier? He remembers both fairly well, but names are a little easier for him.

Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not? Nope! He’s perfectly content with his friends, family, and Pokemon! Who needs a lot of stuff when the important thing is who you’d share it with?

HE IS SO OBLIVIOUS SOMETIMES……… And when he realizes there’s a conflict between him and his SO, he’s reluctant to face it head-on and would rather wait for his SO to come to him once they’ve calmed down. Hence the waiting for Green on Mt. Silver for six whole years

In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism? He doesn’t really compare that much anymore, but when he does, it is based on how much knowledge they have. He does so only to better himself and seek out others’ viewpoints of the world.

If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others? It depends on the situation. Usually, he doesn’t really like to pin blame anywhere and would rather work at bettering whatever happened. If he did actually cause the event, he can feel pretty guilty, though this only serves to fuel his want to fix whatever went wrong.

What does your character like in other people? He likes passion! Anyone who has a strong sense of what they like and want is amazing to him! Bonus if they’re really caring and compassionate!

What does your character dislike in other people? He hates arrogance and a disregard for others’ well-being. Arrogance alone he can tolerate, but treating others like dirt is where he crosses the line.

There usually has to be a fair bit of evidence against someone for him to get suspicious, ESPECIALLY if they’re someone he’s close to. However, there are some instances where his instinct kicks in and he can immediately tell something’s not quite right *cough*Faba*cough*

How does your character behave around children? He adores them! He’s always careful to be gentle and kind, and will even let them see/hold/play with his Pokemon!

How does your character normally deal with confrontation? He doesn’t like it. At all. Vocal confrontation, he tends to grow quiet unless he’d agitated enough. Physical confrontation, he WILL kick your ass if necessary. End of story.

How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation? He is not quick at all to resort to violence and will only do so if there’s no other option. He’s much more quick to resort to a Pokemon battle.

What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true? He never really had long-term goals or a dream job or anything as a kid. He just wanted to spend all his time with Green and always looked forward to the next time they’d see each other again. After they started to grow apart, though, his goal eventually became the same as Professor Oak’s - completing the Pokedex! And he’s gotten some good progress on it, too!

What does your character find repulsive or disgusting? Disregard for others’ life/feelings.

Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable. Lounging at home with Green and all his (current 6) Pokemon around him.

Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable. Being left alone, with no Pokemon, in a pristine lab (like the Aether Foundation or the one on Cinnabar Island - scientists may be present and do not count towards being ‘alone’).

In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve? He is 110% willing to improve, as long as the advice being given is valid!

Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method? Hmm… He’d probably try the same method, but tweak it just enough to be ‘different’. Especially in Pokemon battles, so the slight change throws off his opponents.

How does your character behave around people they like? He is SOOO physically affectionate! Hand-holding, hugs, and he gets really smiley and giggly, too!

How does your character behave around people they dislike? He gets really quiet and the expression on his face turns very serious. If the person pisses him off enough, he won’t hesitate to shout and bring out his Pokemon for support.

Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status? Hmm… Probably defending his honor. His status doesn’t really matter that much to him, as long as he is doing what is right.

Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat? He would remove the problem/threat, definitely. Especially if other people are on the line. He tends to be a bit reckless when it comes to his own well-being.

Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)? I can totally see him being bitten by a Pokemon, whether it was wild or freshly caught. Mewtwo probably would’ve done this, but they’re not much of a biter. He wouldn’t be very affected, though. Maybe a bit more wary towards that particular individual, but overall unfazed.

How does your character treat people in service jobs? He is always polite and makes sure to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ often.

Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first? He completely believes that if you want something it has to be earned, whether it is something physical or not.

Has your character ever had a parental figure who was not related to them? Professor Oak. And also Charizard and Mewtwo, to a degree, though they’d be more like siblings to him.

Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them? ALL HIS POKEMON… Other than that… not really? I mean, he and Green took care of ZZAZZ and Jacred for a little while, but they didn’t exactly stick around.

How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it? It’s very easy for him to say ‘I love you’ once he realizes his feelings, oblivious as he is. He’ll even say it platonically from time to time. He won’t say it without meaning it, though. If he says he loves you, he really does care.

What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them? Hmm… I don’t really give this much thought for any of my muses. As far as the real world is concerned, he lives in Japan, so he’d be familiar with Shinto and Buddhism, but I think he’d really be agnostic. Sure, there’s plenty of proof of some people and Pokemon coming back as Ghost-type Pokemon, but that can’t happen to all of them. Otherwise, the world would be overrun with Ghost-types! And what happens to Ghost-types? Do they get reincarnated? Or do their spirits disappear forever? Whatever happens, he’s not really too worried about it. Mostly, he concerns himself with what good he does while he’s alive.

Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with? No, he doesn’t have any family members in his age group, really. And as for who he’s closest with, not counting Pokemon, it would be Giovanni.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like? Ariana was always the stricter parent of the two. Silver respected her, and even feared her a little... But after he found out about his parents’ roles in Team Rocket, he grew to hate her. Especially when she revived the criminal organization. Nowadays, he doesn’t give a flying fuck about his mother, and as far as he’s concerned, he has no mother.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like? He and Giovanni were always fairly close, even when he was a child. Unfortunately, Silver’s faith in and love for his father was seriously shaken when he started spending more time managing Team Rocket than caring for his son. Since meeting up again, much of his hurt has been healed, but things are still a little shaky between them sometimes.

Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know? Yes and yes. He first connected the dots about his parents being in Team Rocket when he saw a police report on the organization. Ever since then, he was never quite the same.

On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets? What little cash he has on him, his communicator, a small swiss army knife, and his Pokeballs.

Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams? He doesn’t really dream often enough to have recurring themes.

Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares? Either not being able to help someone or him hurting someone he cares about.

Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target? No, he has not fired a gun. But he’d definitely be the type of person to practice with one and carry one around for safety.

Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up? Kind of... His parents had plenty of money, though they tried not to spoil him. But once he ran away, he was constantly struggling and never had much money. Even now, when he’s living with his father again, he’s pretty strapped for cash and doesn’t want any unnecessary assistance from his father.

Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing? More clothing, definitely. The more layers, the better, as long as it’s not too hot out.

In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been? Hmm... Probably when he nearly got crushed by a falling tree in the middle of a thunderstorm.

In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been? Probably... sitting on the couch, reading, with Persian laying over his lap and Weavile sitting beside him.

Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way? Blood doesn’t really phase Silver. Especially not his own blood. When he sees blood on himself, he immediately takes stock and cleans himself up as fast as possible. Other people freaking out at the sight of blood would make him roll his eyes, but if the blood belongs to his Pokemon or someone he cares about, he’s much more anxious about it.

Does your character remember names or faces easier? Probably faces... though his mind’s really sharp when it comes to that sort of thing.

Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not? Only as far as surviving goes. Once he has what he needs, he doesn’t really care about material stuff. He sees it as trivial and unnecessary. The only exceptions are his comfort item (his Persian plush) and gifts from people he cares about.

Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success? Happiness... though if you asked him, he’d deny it for fear of being seen as sappy.

What was your character’s favorite toy as a child? That’s easy! His Persian plush!

Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others? To be perfectly honest...? Ambition. Wisdom is all well and good, but he can’t stand it when people sound like they’re talking down to him and preaching about the things they know.

What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before? He can be fairly overprotective... especially if he knows/thinks his S/O is vulnerable at the moment. As an extention, he never really puts himself first, especially in dangerous situations. He also doesn’t tend to contribute to choices like where to go on a date, what to eat, etc. simply because he doesn’t care about little choices like that. It can be REALLY frustrating, but it hasn’t ruined any relationships for him. (As a bonus flaw, he can be REALLY blunt with facts and his personal opinions.)

In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism? He tends to compare his strength to others a lot, both for validation and self-criticism. He’s determined to be a strong trainer who can stand on his own two feet. Unfortunately, he often gets stuck on comparing himself to those stronger than him. Especially Ethan. When this happens, he can get fairly angry, and somewhat depressive on occasion - like no matter how hard he trains, he’s not getting anywhere and will never be good enough for his own standards.

If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others? He likes to blame others, especially in public. But when he’s on his own, he can get pretty down on himself.

What does your character like in other people? He likes independence and strength. He greatly respects people who can hold their own in a Pokemon battle

What does your character dislike in other people? Weakness of any kind. Timidness, grouping for ‘strength’ in numbers when individually none of them are strong, submissiveness, sympathy for those he feels ‘don’t deserve it’, etc... (He’s much more lenient on this now, especially physical weakness due to an illness or weakness in battle due to inexperience, but it still annoys him.)

How quick is your character to trust someone else? He is probably the LEAST trusting of all my muses/OCs. It borders on paranoia, really.

How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person? Everyone is suspect unless he’s close with them. It takes ages for him to open up, so if anyone accuses someone he’s close to of doing something bad, the accuser better prepare for a fist to the face because fuck you they’d never do such a thing.

How does your character behave around children? He stays WAAAY out of their way, if he can. If he can’t, he’s an awkward mess. He’d be one of those ‘all kids are the devil except mine’ parents.

How does your character normally deal with confrontation? Either he SPEED WALKS the other way, or he charges straight in, ready to kick ass. On the rare occasions he can’t fight OR flee, he’s almost like a cornered animal. Don’t touch him - he WILL hurt you.

How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation? Very quick. You got a problem with him? And you bug him enough? He’ll rip your goddamn head off.

What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true? Hmm... I kind of get the feeling he’d want to work with feline Pokemon, even at a young age. And of course, his father’s a gym leader, so that always used to seem very possible to him. Unfortunately, by the time he ran away, he was so jaded to absolutely everything that being a great trainer seemed like the only viable option for him. And of course, he’s really only an adequate trainer... so that only served to make him feel worse about... well, pretty much everything in his life by that point.

What does your character find repulsive or disgusting? Weak people hiding behind others and using them to do their dirty work. He can’t STAND that... Also, he absolutely HATES people treating the homeless and children badly. If he sees that shit, he WILL fuck you up.

Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable. Spending some quiet time at home, especially with Persian and his Pokemon. Ethan and Lyra being there is a bonus, as long as things stay calm and quiet.

Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable. He doesn’t really get uncomfortable easily, but... hmm... Probably being around a group of police officers. The more there are, the worse it is. And if his father is with him, he’ll be INTERNALLY SCREAMING THE ENTIRE TIME.........

In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve? Silver is VERY defensive when criticized... though he’s trying hard to change that.

Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method? Oftentimes, Silver couldn’t afford to keep trying the same thing over and over again despite failures... so he tends to move on immediately.

How does your character behave around people they like? He’s much less abrasive and does his best to take their feelings into consideration. He smiles more, his body language is more open, and he’ll generally just... want to hang around them, even if they’re not really talking or DOING anything. Long story short: he a cat.

How does your character behave around people they dislike? He will NOT stick around if he doesn’t have to. His word choice is crueler, he scowls a lot, his hands stay in his pockets, and his hair often gets in his face because he’d rather not bother removing his hand from his pocket to fix it.

Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status? Well... he really doesn’t give two shits about either honor or his status. All he cares about is the opinions of those he cares about and whether or not he can support himself and his Pokemon.

Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat? Erm... I’m gonna have to say it depends. If he thinks he can manage it or he’s angry enough, he will absolutely try to handle it himself. If not, he will turn around and walk the other way.

Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)? I can guarantee you that at least one Pokemon has bitten him. He would’ve sworn and sicced his own Pokemon on them, or even attacked them himself if he had no other choice. He didn’t survive alone with no home for six years without learning how to defend himself, after all. Also, this would’ve contributed to his distrust of unfamiliar Pokemon.

How does your character treat people in service jobs? He ignores them for the most part. They give him what he wants, he gives them cash, and they never see each other again. No reason to be especially nice or antagonistic.

Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first? In all honesty, he kind of does feel a little entitled to the things he wants, because he’s had a pretty hard life and he never really wants anything too unreasonable. He’s worked hard as a Pokemon trainer, even if he is mediocre, so why shouldn’t he be able to earn enough money to feed himself? He’s worked his ass off ever since he left home, he’s earned a little peace goddamn it.

Has your character ever had a parental figure who was not related to them? Yes. Persian and Weavile both.

Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them? Um... do his Pokemon count...? I’m gonna say they do. Especially in Litten and Meowth’s cases.

How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it? It is EXTREMELY difficult for Silver to say “I love you”. He doesn’t really tend to vocalize his positive feelings at all. He has to be thinking about it for it to happen. And “I love you” in particular is so romanticized, he’d easily get flustered and nervous about saying it to those he cares about (at least at first - it’s easier with his father b/c he’s said it ever since he was young). Another part to this, though, is that he was really hurt by his parents’ choice of Team Rocket being more important than their own son. As a result, it’s extremely hard for him to trust people enough to say something that intimate. He’d NEVER say it without meaning it, because why would he?

What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them? He’s completely atheist. He doesn’t believe in any kind of god or afterlife, and though reincarnation is somewhat proven with some Ghost-type Pokemon, he doesn’t believe that happens to everyone. In fact, he sort of HOPES you just disappear into nothingness after death because he’s just that sick of life’s hardships.
