Shukats pronounced "Shoe Cats" were born from my need to create something cute. Most of my work is lean and majestic, but I wanted something more compact and cuddly. Think of them as the embodiment of a cat that appears proper and dignified, but is actually a little whiny baby haha. Miles & Quincy Live at Montreux
There have been a few events in jazz history that have endured in our memory above and beyond anything else that occurred in the same generation. Such were the unique collaborations of a genius improviser, Miles Davis, and a genius arranger, Gil Evans.
The music they produced was magisterial and timeless, yet Miles Davis, ever the seeker after new directions, refused to look back at his brilliant yesteryears. It took the persuasive powers of another great man of music, Quincy Jones, to convince him that the moment had come to revive, in person at the Montreux Festival, some of those products of the 1950's that remain for many observers, the proudest achievements of Miles and Gil. The evidence of that magic visit to a glorious past is here in this package

It was a lifetime dream to have had the honor of conducting the masterpieces of Gil Evans with someone who has been my idol since the age of 13. کیا حکومت آئی ایم ایف کی شرائط پر پوری طرح عمل کر سکے گی؟
کئی ماہ سے جاری سخت مذاکرات کے بعد بلآخر عالمی مالیاتی ادارے (آئی ایم ایف) سے معاہدہ طے پاگیا ہے۔ یہ ہماری کمزور معیشت کے لیے ایک بڑا سہارا ہے۔ آئی ایم ایف پاکستان کے لیے 1 ارب 17 کروڑ ڈالر جاری کرے گا۔ اس رقم سے ملک کو درپیش ڈیفالٹ کا خطرہ تو ختم ہ�� جائے گا تاہم اس سے ہم معاشی بحران ختم ہونے کی امید نہیں رکھ سکتے۔ آئی ایم ایف پروگرام کی بحالی اس متزلزل حکومت کے لیے بہت اہم ہے لیکن اس پروگرام کی بحالی آسان نہیں تھی۔ دیگر ترقی پذیر ممالک کی طرح پاکستان کو بھی معاشی بدحالی کے عفریت کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ اس حوالے سے پاکستان کا شمار خطرات سے سب سے زیادہ شکار ممالک میں ہوا۔ ملک کو ڈیفالٹ سے بچانا ناممکن تو نہیں تھا تاہم ملک ڈیفالٹ کے بہت قریب ضرور پہنچ گیا تھا۔ اس معاشی صورتحال کو مستحکم کرنے کے لیے آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ معاہدہ کلیدی حیثیت اختیار کر گیا تھا۔ آئی ایم ایف سے ملنے والی حالیہ قسط 6 ارب ڈالر کے قرض پروگرام کا حصہ ہے۔
پاکستان 2019ء میں آئی ایم ایف پروگرام میں داخل ہوا تھا۔ ابھی آئی ایم ایف سے نصف فنڈز ہی حاصل ہوئے تھے کہ گزشتہ حکومت کے لیے مقررہ اہداف پر عمل کرنا مشکل ہوتا گیا۔ عمران خان کی حکومت جانے سے کچھ دن قبل ہی حکومت نے ایک بڑی سبسڈی کا اعلان کیا جس سے معاشی استحکام کی تمام کوششیں ضائع ہو گئیں۔ اس سبسڈی کے پیچھے سیاسی محرکات تھے کیونکہ عمران خان کو اس وقت تحریک عدم اعتماد کا سامنا تھا۔ لیکن یہ مقبول فیصلہ بھی پاکستان تحریک انصاف (پی ٹی آئی) حکومت کو نہیں بچا سکا بلکہ ملک کے ذخائر پر بوجھ بنا اور ملک کو سخت ترین معاشی بحران کا شکار کر دیا۔ نتیجے کے طور پر نئی حکومت کو سخت شرائط پر آئی ایم ایف سے مذاکرات کرنے پڑے۔ حکومت کو آئی ایم ایف کی منظوری سے قبل ضروری اور سخت معاشی اقدامات بھی اٹھانے پڑے۔ شاید یہ آئی ایم ایف کی جانب سے پاکستان پر عائد اب تک کی سخت ترین شرائط تھیں۔
اس کے نتیجے میں نہ صرف یہ کہ پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ ہوا بلکہ دیگر سبسڈی بھی واپس لے لی گئیں۔ حکومت کو ٹیکسوں کی مدد میں اضافی 436 ارب روپے بھی حاصل کرنے ہیں۔ ان اقدامات کا مطلب ہے کہ پہلے سے ہی مشکلات کا شکار حکمران اتحاد کو ایک بڑی سیاسی قیمت ادا کرنی پڑے گی۔ اگرچہ پاکستانی حکومت اور آئی ایم ایف اسٹاف مشن اس پروگرام کی بحالی پر جون میں ہی متفق ہو گئے تھے لیکن اس کے باوجود آئی ایم ایف کے بورڈ آف ڈائریکٹرز کو اس کی منظوری دینے میں مزید 2 ماہ لگے۔ اس وقت امید کی ایک کرن نظر آئی جب آئی ایم ایف نے قرض کی مدت میں اضافہ کرنے اور اس میں 72 کروڑ کا اضافہ کر کے اسے 7 ارب ڈالر تک لے جانے کے لیے نظرثانی کی ہامی بھری۔ آئی ایم ایف کی منظوری کے بعد اب پاکستان کو دوست ممالک اور ورلڈ بینک جیسی عالمی ایجنسیوں سے بھی مالی امداد ملنے کی امید بندھی ہے۔
یہ بلاشبہ ایک اچھی خبر ہے لیکن ملک کو مستقبل میں مشکل حالات کا سامنا کرنا پڑے گا کیونکہ معاشی حالات ابھی سنبھلے نہیں ہیں۔ ملک میں ہونے والی طوفانی بارشوں اور سیلاب کے نتیجے میں تقریباً 3 کروڑ 30 لاکھ افراد متاثر ہوئے ہیں۔ یہ ہماری آبادی کا تقریباً 15 فیصد حصہ بنتے ہیں۔ پاکستان نے تاریخ میں کبھی ایسی تباہی نہیں دیکھی۔ ان حالات میں معاشی استحکام کے اہداف کا حصول ایک بڑا چیلنج ہوگا۔ ملک بھر میں لاکھوں لوگ بے گھر ہوچکے ہیں۔ لوگ اپنے روزگار سے ہاتھ دھو بیٹھے ہیں، ہزاروں ایکڑ اراضی پر کھڑی فصلیں تباہ ہو چکی ہیں اور مال مویشی سیلاب میں بہہ گئے ہیں۔ سڑکیں اور ڈیم ٹوٹ گئے ہیں جس سے انفرا اسٹرکچر کو شدید نقصان پہنچا ہے۔ مزید سیلاب کی پیشگوئی کے باعث صورتحال بدستور تشویشناک ہے۔ اس تباہی سے ہونے والے معاشی نقصان کا اندازہ لگانا ابھی قبل از وقت ہو گا۔ حکومتی تخمینے کے مطابق متاثرہ علاقوں میں تعمیرِ نو کے لیے 10 ارب روپے سے زائد کی ضرورت ہو گی۔
ایک کمزور معیشت اتنے بڑے نقصان کو برداشت نہیں کرسکتی۔ ہزاروں ایکڑ پر کھڑی فصلوں کے نقصان کے باعث ملک کو مستقبل میں خوراک کی کمی کا سامنا کرنا پڑسکتا ہے جس سے حالات مزید خراب ہو سکتے ہیں۔ اس صورت میں حکومت کے لیے اس مہنگائی پر قابو پانا مزید مشکل ہو جائے گا جو اس وقت بھی 40 فیصد سے زائد ہے۔ ان حالات میں حکومت کے لیے آئی ایم ایف کی شرائط پر عمل درآمد کرنا ایک چیلنج ہو گا۔ حکومت پر خود حکمران اتحاد اور اپوزیشن کی جانب سے بھی سیاسی دباؤ پڑ رہا ہے کہ وہ سبسڈی اور خاص طور پر پیٹرولیم مصنوعات اور بجلی کی قیمتوں پر سبسڈی بحال کرے، لیکن یہی چیزیں آئی ایم ایف پروگرام کی اہم شرائط بھی ہیں۔ موجودہ سیاسی تفریق میں جہاں اپوزیشن جماعت پی ٹی آئی کی پنجاب اور خیبر پختونخوا میں حکومت ہے، وفاقی حکومت کے لیے سخت اقدامات اٹھانے کے امکانات محدود ہو گئے ہیں۔ پی ٹی آئی نے اپنی صوبائی حکومتوں کے ذریعے آخری وقت پر آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ معاہدہ خراب کرنے کی کوشش کی۔
سابق وزیرِ خزانہ شوکت ترین کی خیبر پختونخوا اور پنجاب کے وزیرِ خزانہ کے ساتھ ہونے والی جو ٹیلی فون کال لیک ہوئی ہے اس سے ان الزامات کو مزید تقویت ملی ہے کہ پی ٹی آئی کی جانب سے آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ معاہدہ خراب کرنے کی کوششیں کی جارہی تھیں۔ پی ٹی آئی اگرچہ آئی ایم ایف کی قسط روکنے میں تو کامیاب نہیں ہو سکی لیکن یہ اب بھی وفاقی حکومت کے لیے مشکلات کھڑی کر سکتی ہے۔ پی ٹی آئی کے رہنما آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ معاہدے کے خلاف مہم چلا رہے جبکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ معاہدہ دراصل اس پروگرام کا ہی تسلسل ہے جو 2019ء عمران خان کے دورِ حکومت میں شروع ہوا تھا۔ درحقیقت گزشتہ حکومت کی جانب سے معاہدے پر عمل درآمد نہ کرنے سے ہی معیشت عدم استحکام کا شکار ہوئی۔ یہ بھی ایک وجہ تھی کہ آئی ایم ایف نے اپنی شرائط مزید سخت کر دیں۔ گرتی ہوئی معیشت کی وجہ سے حکومت کے پاس ان سخت شرائط کو تسلیم کرنے کے علاوہ کوئی چارہ نہیں تھا۔
یقینی طور پر تیل کی قیمتوں میں اضافے اور سبسڈی ختم ہونے سے عوام شدید متاثر ہوئے ہیں لیکن اس سے معیشت مکمل تباہی سے بچ گئی ہے۔ نئی حکومت کے لیے سخت اپوزیشن کی موجودگی میں غیر مقبول فیصلے کرنا آسان نہیں ہے۔ وزیرِ خزانہ مفتاح اسمٰعیل کو اپنی ہی جماعت کے کچھ سینئر رہنماؤں کی جانب سے سخت تنقید کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ یہ پاکستان مسلم لیگ (ن) اور شریف خاندان کے اندر جاری اقتدار کی جنگ کو بھی ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ تاہم ہمیں مفتاح اسمٰعیل کو اس بات کا کریڈٹ دینا ہو گا کہ وہ یہ معاہدہ کرنے میں کامیاب رہے، لیکن ابھی کہانی ختم نہیں ہوئی ہے۔ بلاشبہ آئی ایم ایف کے ساتھ ہونے والے معاہدے نے ملک کو کچھ سہارا تو دیا ہے لیکن آگے آنے والے چیلنجز بہت سخت ہیں۔ ہم آئی سی یو سے تو باہر آگئے ہیں لیکن ابھی خطرے میں ہیں۔ بڑھتا سیاسی عدم استحکام معاشی بحالی کے راستے میں حائل سب سے بڑی رکاوٹ ہے۔

سیاست میں کوئی اتنا گر سکتا ہے؟
کوئی اپنی سیاست کے لئےاتنا گر سکتا ہے کبھی سوچ بھی نہیں سکتا تھا۔ شوکت ترین کے حوالے سے لیک آڈیو میں جو کچھ سامنے آیا ہے، اُسے آپ غداری کہیں، پاکستانی دشمنی یا کچھ اور لیکن بلاشبہ یہ انتہائی گھٹیا اور شرمناک حرکت ہے جس کی جتنی بھی مذمت کی جائے وہ کم ہے۔ بجائے اس کے کہ اس پر شرمندہ ہوا جاتا، معافی مانگی جاتی، تحریک انصاف والے اس کا دفاع کر رہے ہیں اور ایسا رنگ دینے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں جو جھوٹ کے سوا کچھ نہیں۔ ایک ٹی وی ٹاک شو میں سب سے پہلے فواد چوہدری نے جو کچھ کہا اور پھر آڈیو لیک میں شوکت ترین نے وزیر خزانہ خیبر پختون خوا اور وزیر خزانہ پنجاب کے ساتھ جو گفتگو کی، اُس سے یہ بات بغیر کسی شک و شبہ کے ثابت ہوتی ہے کہ یہ ایک سوچا سمجھا منصوبہ تھا جس کی منظوری عمران خان نے دی اورمقصد حکومت پر دبائو ڈالنا، جلد الیکشن کروانا اور تحریک انصاف کےرہنمائوں پر مقدمات ختم کروانے کے لئے آئی ایم ایف پروگرام کو ہی سبوتاژ کر دیا جائے۔
اسد عمر سمیت شوکت ترین اور وزیر خزانہ کے پی جس ڈھٹائی سے اپنے اس عمل کا ٹی وی چینلز پر آ کر دفاع کر رہے ہیں، وہ بھی اپنی مثال آپ ہے۔ اس واقعہ کو چند دن گزر چکےہیں لیکن میں ابھی تک اس بات کو ہضم نہیں کر پا رہا کہ کوئی سیاسی جماعت، کوئی سیاسی رہنما، کوئی پاکستانی کیسے اتنا گر سکتا ہے؟ عمران خان اور پی ٹی آئی بھلے بہت مقبول ہیں، یہ اُن کا حق ہے کہ فوری الیکشن کا مطالبہ کریں اور اس کے لئے قانون کے دائرہ میں رہتے ہوئے جدوجہد بھی کریں لیکن کوئی الیکشن کے جلد انعقاد اور اقتدار کے فوری حصول کے لیے اتنا بے چین اور Frustrated ہو جائے کہ ریاست کو بھی نقصان پہنچانے سے باز نہ آئے، اسے سیاست نہیں بلکہ پاگل پن ہی کہا جا سکتا ہے۔ پاکس��ان دیوالیہ ہو جائے، ملک کی معیشت تباہ و برباد ہو جائے تو یقیناً یہاں حالات سری لنکا سے بھی بدتر ہو جائیں گے اور اس بنا پر موجودہ حکومت قائم نہیں رہ سکتی، نئے الیکشن بھی ممکن ہو جائیں گے لیکن تحریک انصاف نے یہ کیوں نہ سوچا کہ اس سے عمران خان کے الیکشن جیتنے اور دوبارہ حکومت میں آنے کا راستہ تو کھل جائے گا لیکن پاکستان کا کیا حال ہو گا، عوام پر کیا گزرے گی، ڈالر کتنا اوپر جائے گا، پٹرول پانچ سو، ہزار روپے تک مہنگا ہو سکتا ہے اور اس سے جو مہنگائی کا طوفان آئے گا، کیا وہ پاکستان کو حکمرانی کے قابل چھوڑے گا؟
عمران خان اور شوکت ترین نے کیا یہ بھی نہ سوچا کہ پاکستان کو سری لنکا بنا کر وہ حکومت میں تو دوبارہ آ جائیں گے لیکن حکمرانی کیسے کریں گے؟ معیشت کی تباہی کا جو بیج وہ بونا چاہ رہے تھے، وہ کام اگر ہو جاتا تو تباہ شدہ معیشت کو حکومت میں آ کر وہ کیسے ٹھیک کر سکتے ہیں۔ تحریک انصاف کی اس حرکت کو دیکھ کر اب تو مجھے اس بات کا بھی یقین ہو گیا ہے کہ رواں سال مارچ میں اپنی حکومت کے خاتمے سے پہلے آئی ایم ایف کے معاہدے کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوے پٹرول اور ڈیزل سستا کرنے کا عمل بھی دراصل آنے والی حکومت کے لئے بارودی سرنگ بچھانے کے مترادف تھا۔ اُس وقت بھی تحریک انصاف نے اپنے سیاسی حریف کو ناکام بنانے کےلئے جو حربہ استعمال کیا وہ دراصل پاکستان کے لئے نقصان دہ تھا، اُس سے عوام کو نقصان پہنچا اور معیشت کو ایک بھنور میں دھکیل دیا گیا کہ معاشی حالات بد سے بدتر ہوئے اور پاکستان کو ڈیفالٹ کے ایک ایسے خطرے کا سامنا کرنا پڑا جس کی پہلے کوئی مثال نہیں ملتی۔
سیاست کے نام پر یہ سب کھلواڑ ایک ایسے وقت میں کیا گیا جب پاکستان کو تاریخ کے بدترین سیلاب کا سامنا ہے، آدھا پاکستان ڈوبا ہوا ہے اور کروڑوں عوام اس آفت سے متاثر ہوئے ہیں۔ اس آفت سے پاکستان کو کھربوں روپے کا نقصان ہوا ہے۔ ہماری معاشی حالت پہلے ہی خراب ہے، اسلئے بیرونی دنیا کی مداد کے بغیر ہم سیلاب متاثرین کی مدد اور بحالی کا کام نہیں کر سکتے۔ ایسے میں جب دنیا پاکستان کی مدد کرنا چاہ رہی ہے تو تحریک انصاف کی ایک سابق ایم این اے شاندانہ گلزار نے بی بی سی کو انٹرویو دیتے ہوئے عالمی برادری سے کہا ہے کہ وہ سیلاب زدگان کے لئے حکومت پاکستان کو امداد نہ دیں۔ اُنہوں نے الزام عائد کیا کہ اس امداد میں کرپشن ہو رہی ہے۔ اس پر اب میں کیا کہوں۔ تحریک انصاف اپنی سیاست میں بہت گر چکی ہے۔

Dan Wilson, the musician from St. Louis Park who rose to fame with Semisonic and went on to become a hot songwriter-for-hire, has become the latest in a string of stars selling their song catalogs.
Primary Wave Music Publishing has acquired Wilson’s entire songbook, which includes songs he’s written for and with artists including Adele (“Someone Like You”), the Chicks (“Not Ready to Make Nice”), Taylor Swift (“Treacherous”), and Dierks Bentley (“Home”) — as well as Wilson songs he’s recorded himself with Semisonic, with Trip Shakespeare, and as a solo artist.
“The musical art that Dan has created as a songwriter is undeniable,” said Primary Wave president Justin Shukat in a statement. “His work has been enjoyed by fans around the world through both the lens of his own band, Semisonic, as well as through the voices of the countless artists he’s collaborated with and written for.”
Investors have recently been eager to acquire song rights, and artists have proven willing to sell. Those who have done so include Stevie Nicks and, in a deal that might have netted Wilson’s fellow Minnesotan $400 million, Bob Dylan. Selling your past songs doesn’t mean you don’t plan to carry on writing: Dylan’s deal, for example, simply doesn’t include any future compositions.

Shu vs. Sheng

- Miért, shu nem volt?
Ez a shu-sheng vita vagy kérdés nagyjából olyan, mint a kutya macska vagy legalábbis a there are two types of people. Amúgy hülyeség, mint az összes ilyen. Én például mindkettőt nagyon szeretem, nagyon mások, nagyon máshogy hatnak rám.
Valahogy úgy van ez, hogy eredetileg Kínában shengek voltak. (生, ami élőt jelent, jelenleg éppen a mi kontextusunkban). Ezek a shengek aztán értek, akár 20 évet is, néha többet is. Akkor öreg shengekké változtak és hihetetlen értékük lett. Mondjuk azt, hogy úgy, mint a bornak, de ezt én nem írtam le. A kínaiak nagyon sok öreg shenget ittak, mert egészséges. Mindennek is jót tesz! Aztán jött Mao. A kulturális forradalom pusztításából persze a teakultúra sem maradhatott ki. Bezúzták a shengeket is. Mindet. Nem tudok számokat, de csak nagyon kevés öreg sheng maradt. Ennek persze az lett a következménye, hogy az árak iszonyatosan elszálltak és megfizethetetlen lett az egyszerű emberek számára. Ez azért elég jelentős probléma volt. Ez vezetett el a shukhoz. (熟, ripe, érett, érlelt). Ezt a '70-es években találták ki, azért, hogy az öreg shengek hiányát megoldják. Lényegében felgyorsítják az érlelést. Nem kell 20 évet várni rá. Az érlelt fekete tea (heicha) alapján dolgozták ki az eljárást, azt hiszem a menghai teagyár volt az első. Persze nem szabad elfelejteni, hogy a shuk még kb. 25 évig változnak, tehát vannak "öreg" shuk. Egy sheng bármeddig képes változni. (Nem szeretem az érni szót, mert a tea minden szakaszban más.)
A lényeg, hogy a shengesek azért mondják, hogy a shu nem tea, mert eredetileg nem volt jelen. És hát tényleg az elején olyan volt, hogy a kínaiak is szartak bele és akár cipőfűzőt is lehetett találni a teában. Manapság a nagy teagyárak mellett elindult egy felvirágzása a shunak és egyre több kis teagyár készít nagyon jó teákat. Kicsit olyan, mint nálunk az, ami a sörrel történt. Persze jó shut sokkal nehezebb készíteni, mert sokkal kockázatosabb. Ha ott elbaszódik valami a folyamatban az egész megy a kukába. Erre hivatkoznak a shu rajongói! Jelenleg az öreg shengek és shuk ára vetekszik egymással. 6000 ezer dolláros korongok simán vannak mindkettőből.
Én több shut iszom, az napi szinten van, shenget meg csak ritkábban. Máshogy hat. A fiatal könnyű édes fanyar shengeket délután munkában tökre szeretem ilyen langyos őszi napokon vagy nyáron. A shukat szeretem reggel, olyan ez nekem, mint a kávé. Vagy télen bármikor, hogy fűtsön és ne fagyjak szarrá. Esetleg ha nem lehet aludni 3 napig arra is jó megoldás. Az öreg shengek viszont más téma. Nekik tiszteletet kell adni azért. Tearészegség és égzengés a föld megnyilása meg a fanfárok. Azt így inkább társaságban. Szóval az megint nagyon más téma. Összefoglalva a lényeg, hogy menjetek igyatok teát és élvezzétek!

Sometimes being a fan is hard in a country where fandom culture isn’t always taken seriously. It’s even harder when the fandom revolves around a foreign entertainment industry which is neither Bollywood nor Hollywood. It brings up the ever so common question “It’s in a different language! Why do you care if you don’t even know what’s being said?”
Korean Entertainment in Pakistan is slowly but surely making its way into the hearts of Pakistani youth but it’s still not widespread enough that we can easily find each other. It still comes as a shock when a fellow classmate reveals that they too, listen to Kpop or watch Kdramas.
It may surprise many to know that the Pakistani K-entertainment fanbase now consists of more than 2000 people. 26 year old fangirl, Maryyam, created a Facebook group Kpop Pakistan United Fandoms in 2014 with the hopes of uniting all Pakistani k-entertainment fans in one place so they could have someone to fangirl and relate with. She has also created many other K-Entertainment groups such as Pak Kor Chingu and Pakistani BTS ARMY and is also the admin of many other Pakistani and International groups and pages.
Recently, in honor of BTS’s (Kpop Boy Group) 4th Anniversary she and the rest of the Pakistani BTS ARMY admin team worked on a series of projects for the promotion of Kpop in Pakistan. One such project was an Oral Health Campaign with the motto “Everyone deserves to smile.” The project was organized for a year and was finally put into motion when a team of volunteering dentists visited school’s in Pakistan for an Oral Health education program that was successfully carried out under BTS’s name for their 4thAnniversary this year.
The program included a free dental checkup, teaching sessions on “How to Brush Your Teeth Properly” and distribution of free dental goods (toothbrush, toothpaste and a manual on proper brushing). Pakistani BTS ARMY members donated and participated in this project to make it successful. As oral healthcare is expensive and not available to all, the aim of Pakistani ARMYs is to make more people aware of their health and make treatments affordable for them. PBA team hopes to continue this welfare campaign throughout the rest of the year.
Another 4th Anniversary project PBA team organized was based on the increasing trend of themed restaurants. The PBA team came up with the idea of creating a BTS themed restaurant also as a 4th Anniversary project. The members of the team struggled to find a restaurant in Lahore willing to endorse their idea. After much time and effort they came across a local Pakistani Pizzeria, California Pizza, and pitched their idea to the multi-unit operation manager Terry. He fell for BTS’s charisma instantly and furthered the proposal to his management team. After receiving the approval for a partnership to be formed, the PBA team got the second floor of the Pizzeria to themselves to decorate as they wished.
The second floor, now having been dubbed “Bangtanistan” (Bangtan + Pakistan) is decorated with BTS flex, images and standees. The restaurant playlist has been updated to play BTS songs and the screen plays BTS’s multitude of music videos. The PBA Team also dedicated a special section to other kpop groups for fans who aren’t BTS stans but enjoy other kpop boy and girl groups. The restaurant is located at Johar Town, California Pizza near UCP/Shukat Khanum. As a bonus surprise for ARMY customers, anyone who places a free home delivery will get BTS goodies as a gift.
PBA Team is working hard to launch similar restaurant projects in other major cities such as Karachi and Islamabad with the help of Pakistani BTS ARMY.
A fan book project was also organized by BTS Pakistan Official Fan Club (BPOFC). Messages from Pakistani ARMY were compiled in a book along with pictures and fan art which will be sent to BTS as a sign of love and support from their Pakistani fans.

Primary Wave Music Publishing Buys Rough Trade Publishing in Multi Million Dollar Deal
Primary Wave Music Publishing, an American music publishing group that also focuses on talent management and marketing, recently acquired Rough Trade Publishing, a New York and UK bases music publishing company, for 5 million dollars. Both companies view this acquisition and co merging of firms as a mutually beneficial business agreement. Rough Trade is focused on getting a more global scale of clients and is excited to utilize Primary Wave’s creative teams to boost client management.
The Senior Vice President Legal Affairs at Rough Trade Publishing eagerly admitted “We’ve finally met our match with Primary Wave. We couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds.” In a similar regard, Justin Shukat, the President of Primary Wave Music Publishing exclaimed “Rough Trade is a legendary brand in the music business, Their vision and hard working team made Rough Trade Publishing an ideal company for us to do business with.” It is great that two music companies can be so willing to work with one another, but it also raises the question on whether or not music publishing is going to remain a business that leans on huge corporates versus private labels. Companies are continuing to merge which further pushes out opportunities for smaller music publishing. But this is not only seen within publishing in the music industry, this notion of music monsters monopolizing the industry is also prevalent with music streaming, recording, and management.
Not only are music companies merging with other businesses, they are also taking on more responsibilities within different elements of the music industry. Now “Primary Wave has grown over the last 10 years into a full service music and entertainment company that includes Brand Synergy Group, Brightshop Digital Marketing, publicity, Film/TV development, and a talent & literary management company.” It is evident that companies like Primary Wave and Rough Trade will continue to grow, but what does this mean for participation in the industry when it comes to smaller independent companies? Should the smaller companies mimic the business strategies of successful bigger music corporations? Or instead stick to their original business model to cater to a smaller client base?
