i'm definitely not the first to say this but i really think Shoujo Cosette having to show Fantine's descent into destitution without including the sex work aspect has resulted in an adaptation that gets the point across far better than most
Shoujo Cosette has to focus on the poverty itself, which is ultimately the point, while a lot of other adaptations get fixated on the sex work
i fucking love shojo cosette bc it's the only series where i see such a nice black fit with nice shoes like that and i'm like "this is totally cosette" and instead
