Every now and then I get random ideas for how to come up with short stories. Here's what I have. #writingprompts #shortstoryideas -chose a random font on your computer and write a story inspired by the font. -write a story about the life of the last piece of clothing you bought if purchased by someone else. -what would a mirror say to you if it could talk. -write a story without any sentient beings, use only nature (any nature, real or imagined) -pick a minor character from your favorite tv show or movie and write their story.

They laid together in the back of her car with their ocean soaked clothes on the ground. She could hear his heart hammering in his chest as they both tried to catch their breath. The windows were fogged and dimly through the blur she could see the moon spying on them. He chuckled and lightly ran his fingertips down her ribs, and she shivered even though the air remained hot and stale. "You're beautiful," he said to her. "Thank you," she replied quietly. She knew he was lying, but it didn't matter. She needed to be lied to.
