I kind of feel evil for asking this, but how does the fact that Brightheart is considered the hottest molly in the forest while Cloudtail is considered rather ugly affect their relationship? (Also the love the Better Bones Au!)
I think in other couples, it might, but for them it doesn't. Y'know? Other cats might be shallow, or insecure that they're considered so unattractive while their mate is "out of their league," but that's simply not Cloudtail and Brightheart.
You see, a short king like Cloudtail only has a certain amount of floorspace with which to store their confidence. In a tall guy, it spreads all out and gets thin. In a boy who is short? It's concentrated. Absolutely distilled to its purest essence. You cannot divide him. This man is a carbon molecule, and babey, Brightheart is 6 electrons.
He's like Danny Devito. When does Danny Devito ever stop and lament his appearance? That man is a comedic orb. That's Cloudtail.
Brightheart ironically is the one who's more insecure. The death of her cousin and Bluestar's Dishonor Title, Swifthound, really wrecked her. She has a bad habit of feeling like she doesn't deserve the good things she has.
In BB's Clan Culture, scars are desirable. She feels like she doesn't deserve to have such markers of strength. What she did in following Swiftpaw towards the dogs that night wasn't noble, it was foolish. So walking away from it with trophies that she feels she didn't earn is painful.
In a way, she feels like that with Cloudtail, too. What did she do to deserve him? He supports her in everything she does. He does everything in his power to make her feel better. When she suggests surrogating for their friends in other Clans? He thinks that's great! If she wanted to go on a trip with Cinderheart to the town? He'd cheer! She knows, deep in her heart, if she ever DID want to become a Cleric, Cloudtail loves her enough to let her go.
And that hurts, sometimes. When she struggles with self-worth. She feels like it's not fair she's loved so much.
So... basically, maybe in another couple who was more shallow. But these two have something a lot deeper going on.

hiya!! I’m curious, lobbie’s bio says she’s essentially a mascot for her workplace. did she get chosen over other applicants because of having a Cool Coffice Vibe originally or did she start wearing the high-ish ponytail and big cat eye glasses as part of her role there?
the high pony + cat eyes were definitely a cornerstone of her style before she applied! when dressing casually tho she trends toward cute/comfy rather than Business Casual.
she has a history of actual clerical/customer service work so she Did have the impression that she was going to be doing an actual job when she applied, but it turns out larping as an office lady in a place where nobody actually expects you to do any real work is pretty chill.
a fun bonus fact about lobbie: she has a ton of siblings and they all have names that allude to certain professions and they all conveniently work in those fields. its cartoon babey

omg i get so excited hearing about dnd!!!! how many campaigns have you been in if u mind answering?
i don't mind at all ! ! ! ! i enjoy talking about dnd ! ! ! ! our group got together in 2020 has run a total of (counts on fingers) 6 campaigns and 5 one shots, with our average campaign length being around 20 to 30 sessions. each person's taken a shot at DM'ing thus far, but the forever DM and i have both run about four of those each w
also, outside of one or two one shots, it's all been exclusively homebrew ! ! ! which is fun because we've all gotten to create our own regions and design overarching lore that connects each campaign to the other ! ! ! (surprisingly, hannus barbarous is usually the connecting factor. we did not plan this but that's just how it is now KJSFLKJH)
and because i love talking about dnd so much i'm taking this opportunity to dump a whole lot of summary of each campaign/one shot in chronological order under the cut w
ON A SCALE of ONE to TWENTY .. campaign
After being shut off from the world for over a hundred years, the region of Celosia finally opens its doors, sending out an open letter to all would-be adventurers asking for help. Our party just so happened to be the fools who decided to answer (and who got lucky enough to not get eaten by wolves on the way there), and have been tasked with taking down the shadowy Emerald Division that has seemingly come to power. They'll get to it as soon as they visit the dump (it's on the way).
Our DM's first homebrew campaign and the result of all of us being stuck inside and realizing we finally had time to play together w. This was the origin of both Hannus Barbarous as a running gag (along the lines of "this is JUST like Thomas and Jeremiah") and the name Scott as a throwaway bit, and also the origin of "The Coolest Emerald Division" title w
Characters
Roachcock the Tiefling Barbarian (played by me) .. bastard at heart, just wants to split heads, get coin, and buy a boat
Babey Möd the Halfling-Tabaxi Cleric (played by @anonprotagging) .. here to eat gravy and spread the good word of Lyra
The Storm the Water Genasi Barbarian .. he's super famous dude just trust me i heard he once fought like thirty turkeys
In'hala the Tiefling Paladin of Pan .. looking for her lost moms and also stealing this guy's boots hahaaa sick
Opus Whitfield the Human Wild Magic Sorcerer .. trying to use this opportunity to set up a new storefront for his family's gem cutting business, is actually using this opportunity to get bullied
note: i don't know if the other players use tumblr so for now they'll just be identified as "Xs player" from here on out w
GRANNY'S COUNTRY APPLE PIE .. one shot
An aging wizard wishes to taste the sweet delight of Granny's Country Apple Pie™ one last time (despite the bakery closing decades ago) and thus tasks our heroes with scoping out the place and seeing if they can find a recipe. Somewhere along the way, things got weird and it turns out Granny was just an immortal 65 year old who was taking a vacation in the outer planes with her wife but she's back now :)
Pre-built one shot that very quickly went off the rails, as to be expected for my very first go at being a DM after being a player for less than 4 months. The first appearance of Hannus as an actual character and not just a running bit.
Characters
Hannus Barbarous the Half-Orc playwright and Bard (played by @anonprotagging) .. he's taking a break from his prestigious play writing career to see the sights and reconnect with the little piece of him that was shattered when his troupe broke apart (but not too much of a break not to sign every autograph he can eyyy)
Sir the Eternal Flame (and sorcerer i guess) (played by Opus's player) .. still frustrated at being locked in human form, this giant immortal moth is off doing busy work until his curse wears off (which apparently includes bakery heists???)
Tehn the Sun Elf Ranger (played by the Celosia campaign DM) .. with their giant bumblebee Spoobin and frankly obscene lack of dietary standards at their side, there's no meal that they can't tackle
THE OSSIFIED GARDENS .. mini campaign
Taking shelter from the rain in an unearthly structure, the gang is snatched away from the physical realm and into a crab bucket-like hotel for the fae. With their most prized possessions taken from them as an entry fee, the gang has to endure arduous tasks to receive the stamps of each of the five Managers in order to receive audience with the minor god who runs the establishment. Whether or not she'll be willing to give their possessions back, however...
My first solo campaign as a DM!! Heavily inspired by Spirited Away and mostly an excuse to put old game dev content to use (including a literal circus of NPCs), but ended up serving as an important event in the Hannus Barbarous lore.
Characters
Hannus Barbarous the Half-Orc playwright and Bard (played by @anonprotagging) .. on the road with Tehn to visit a trinket faire in the next town over, about to experience beginning of a long and scalding beef with a petty minor god
Tehn the Sun Elf Ranger (played by the Celosia campaign DM) .. Hannus and Tehn are best friends now—they're having soft tacos later! :)
Piers the Minotaur Cleric (played by Opus's player) .. he's just along for the ride—maybe there will be cool books! :oooo
Tess the Halfling Rogue (played by In'hala's player) .. laying low until the folks in charge of her latest warrant lose track of her (and by laying low i mean just stealing at waist height instead of top shelves)
ROLL to PHOTOBOMB .. campaign
A seemingly normal winter festival goes astray when our heroes poor fools accidentally soul-bond to an extraplanar device meant to be a birthday present for the renowned sculptor hosting the ball (spoilers: it's a camera). They have four months to take it north to Cobalt City, get the re-calibration redone, and get it back in time for her wife to give it to her for their anniversary. The only problem is, the mountain pass is closed and the only other way there is a several hundred mile road trip by wagon...
Time to take some photos in front of some kitschy roadside attractions, I guess.
Opus's player's first time DM'ing for our group (though they'd DM'd before, and frankly—their experience shows). This campaign was home to some of our most beloved NPCs like Cassidy the subterranean super organism, Barry the extraplanar knife slime, and Sir the Eternal Flame Moth (he got that curse figured out finally!)
Characters
Fafnir of the Boreal North, the human knight Mimic Berserker (played by me) .. they just wanted to leave their dungeon to find a better, damper place to sit and eat and somehow accidentally took part in the funniest case of mistaken identity this side of Alcione
Ranger Rain Rainer the human Ranger (and literal park ranger, played by @anonprotagging) .. originally here to supervise the environmental impacts of the ball on the local landscape, now soul-bound to an extraplanar camera and havin' a good ol' time hangin' with the boys :) y'want some soy sauce with that? i bought a gallon back in brass junction
Kit the Elven Ranger (played by Tehn's player) .. legitimately so traumatized he wraps back around to being the most normal person in this group—just don't mention Celestine Grove
Babu the Hobgoblin Artificer (played by the Storm's player) .. having been separated from his parents and raised by Kobolds, Babu, his steel defender Babu, and his clockwork creation Little Babu are on a long journey to reunite with them in Grand Arbor .. please do not look at him he's sensitive
THE GREAT COCKATRICE RACE .. one shot
It's that time of year—the Great Cockatrice Race is upon us!! But just as our party is soaking in the sights and staking out the perfect spot to watch, they witness a young tiefling have his cockatrice's racing gear shredded by a local gang. Desperate to win so he can help pay to treat his father's worsening eyesight (they're cartographers by trade), he asks the party for help, and they quickly oblige.
Another one shot run by me, based loosely on a one-page campaign document. Not much to say about this one beyond the fact that everyone was ready to kill for Noodles the bantam cockatrice.
Characters
Actias Saturnid the Aasimar Paladin (played by @anonprotagging) .. on a quest to popularize his deity's chosen form of entertainment—tinker vision (TV for short)
Squish the Changeling Bard (played by Tehn's player) .. here to have fun and maybe also look for his friend that went missing have you seen her please tell me i miss her ;_____;
Kai the ??? Swashbuckling Rogue (played by Opus's player) .. it's a big festival, and that means plenty of eyes and plenty of cash! not a half bad time to try negotiating some new patrons for her artist friends
TROUBLE at PORT MANDRET .. one shot
What was originally supposed to be the 58th annual showcase of Umbergate University's horticultural collection is turned sour as an incensed former professor unleashes a powerful awakening spell on the entire town. With only a few hours before the plants release spores that will spread the spell to the entire world, our party has to act fast and cooperate with a local mycologist who seems to know just the fix to this predicament.
Another one shot from me, this time entirely homebrewed! This is also the origin of Scott as a character and not just a throwaway bit, and very much the source of his dynamic with Hannie. They found him tangled up in a bunch of kudzu in a coffee shop and he sent them on a long fetch quest to help him make a cup of coffee using stolen coffee beans.
Characters
Hannus Barbarous the Half-Orc playwright and bard (you know his player by now w) .. you know, he was just trying to lay low after the whole "committing arson" thing, but now he has a gay little mushroom twink to look after and that's (????)
Tehn the Sun Elf Ranger (played by you know who w).. also laying low after helping Hannus commit arson, but mostly here to eat a bunch of plants when no one's looking
Hank the Aarakocra Barbarian (played by Opus's player) .. he's a goose who only says "HANK" and i love that so much about him
Quinn the literal, unawakened, plain old animal tiger and Rogue (played by the Storm's player) .. the reason Hannus and Tehn committed arson after discovering she was being kept in squalid conditions by a wealthy family .. i cannot stress enough that she is a literal, un-enchanted tiger
THE ENIGMA of DAHL CREEK .. campaign
Their boat having sank in a storm, the party washes up on a seemingly once populous island now drowning under webs of unidentifiable blue-green vines and the eerily human-like shapes it creates. Working to unravel the mystery of how the entire town disappeared one August day, they find the past and present blurring together in a strange and haunting way.
The Celosia campaign DM's next big campaign, and frankly the one that haunts me most to this day. I cannot put into words how fucking good this campaign was. Legitimately gave me chills and occupies a region of my brain that cannot be vacated.
Characters
Hannus Barbarous (you know him) .. just trying to recover from the fae thing and the tiger incident and then the Port Mandret fiasco and really doesn't need this right now (but deal he will)
Biscott Cortinarius the human mycologist and Necromancer (played by me) .. putting a little distance between himself and the university due to the ""legal ramifications of interviewing university property without familial consent,"" but mostly sticking with Hannus because he's a bard and... well... bards aren't exactly beefy are they ;)
The Destitution of Mires the Lizardfolk Circle of Spores Druid (played by the Storm's Player) .. to this day i still don't know what their deal was, only that they sensed and so they came, and they left just as easily
Theo the ??? Circle of Dreams Druid (played by Opus's player) .. wanted to get out there and see the world, managed to sneak onto the one and Only boat that shipwrecked that day, now paying for it dearly
TIDECLEFT ISLES .. campaign
When the great Captain Wicke died, he arranged in his will that his treasure was to be given to the pirates of Tidecleft—so long as they could find it. Having arranged a massive, death-defying posthumous treasure hunt, several teams (including our heroes) must now compete to locate Wicke's treasure if they want to claim it all for themselves. What the late captain has in store for them, however, may call the worth of the treasure into question.
The Storm's player's first time DM'ing for our group, but not his first time DM'ing by far (read: he was Tehn's player's forever DM long before he came to our group). This was a grand old romp around a bunch of islands and sea caves that culminated in a frankly off-the-walls batshit final battle.
Characters
Acanthus of the Western Isles, the Mano (shark man) Scholar (played by me) .. a doctor and academic seeking to pay off a massive debt he incurred thanks to the Silver Lampreys and their web of loan sharks .. he doesn't care for jokes... or laughing, or puns, or metaphorical language or
Lemon the Warforged Circle of Stars Druid (played by @anonprotagging) .. realized she's accrued like twenty years in paid time off from working as a docent in an observatory, now taking her first vacation with her best friend Owen Gnome :) (he's a garden gnome she found outside and decided to keep in her pocket) (may or may not be venomous)
Bellamy the ??? ??? (played by Opus's player) .. ever grateful to the squid trawlers that took him in, he's competing in this hunt to earn enough to turn their venture into a franchise .. he is shockingly normal despite the whole "may not be from this plane" thing
Rayin the Tiefling Storm Sorcerer (played by Tehn's player) .. having received that sweet sweet "got hit by a magical explosion on campus" money and gotten magical powers out of it, Rayin is ditching academia to do COOL things like throw lightning bolts and meow at people
these character descriptors are getting long sorry
MIETTE SIMULATOR .. one shot
Somehow, our band of unfortunate souls has wandered into a town caught in a frenzy, raving for the execution of a seemingly normal tiefling man for an unspeakable crime (literally, no one will say what it was). The gang decides to get to the bottom of this, only to discover the very laws of reality are essentially optional in this neck of the woods.
Hannus's player's first time DM'ing as a dry run for his future one shot, and it was a hoot. Also the first time we got to meet Ranger Rainer's brother, Shine Rainer (who is the polar opposite of his brother thanks to all the trauma that comes with being a record keeper).
Characters
Lark the Aasimar Gunslinger (played by me) .. just trying to do as many good deeds as possible to get her dad off her back so she can get a girlfriend without him scaring her off with his whole "incomprehensible being of holy light" thing
Clare the human ??? (played by Tehn's player) .. i don't remember why she was there she just was and she was probably the most okay with everything that was going on
Hank the Aarakocra Barbarian (played by Opus's player) .. he's playing it cool after the Port Mandret thing, except this is not cool this is chaos
MOON TOWN .. one shot
It's Actias! And he needs help! For some reason, they've been disconnected from their god, and they can't figure out why! When our heroes decide to help, they end up getting snatched away to an otherworldly version of the long abandoned Sun Town and need to solve the mystery of a long cold case in order to find their way back home.
Hannus's player's main group DM'ing debut. Full of fun puzzles and good laughs (I'll never forget Actias asking us for help with a puzzle and showing us one of those shapes and holes boxes you give to kids) with plenty of throwbacks to old running gags. Felt like a nice homage to what DnD had been for us thus far.
Characters
Calamund Galbraith the Reborn Echo Fighter (played by me) .. a completely average guy who just so happened to get roped into getting "engaged" to a wraith that now endlessly pursues him .. he just really wants to go home and eat soup with his birds
Squish the Changeling Bard (played by Tehn's player) .. really worried for his good friend Actias :(
Tiel Alleywollow the Halfling Warlock (played by the Storm's player) .. a girl of few words (literally, she only speaks when casting spells) and eternally fond of her fiendish patron, an asshole imp named Dition
In'hala the Tiefling Paladin of Pan (played by the same guy as before w) .. hit her head on a ship and somehow ended up far, far south of Celosia. who knows what happened? certainly not in'hala, but EYYY SHE STILL HAS THE SICK BOOTS YEAAA
Teller Artax the Warforged Gunslinger (played by Opus's player) .. originally out to hunt down his lost creator, but got sidetracked, and then got sidetracked from that sidetrack, and then got sidetracked from that sidetrack's sidetrack, and then
THE CURIOUS CASE of ACTON RIDGE .. campaign
50 years before the events of Dahl Creek, a similar event is taking place—after a shoot out in the canyon, the town of Acton Ridge is also carpeted in strange, blue-green vines and locked in time. Our heroes must unravel the mystery of their pasts and the two intertwined fates of a pair of brilliant inventors who were seemingly on the hunt for something not of this world. Ongoing!
The Celosia DM's latest campaign and prequel to Dahl Creek. A little different vibes from the last one considering most of us apparently lived here before things went to shit, and many of us have tie-ins with the events taking place. Cool, eerie mystery fun ! ! !
Characters
Outis the Warforged Paladin (played by me) .. an archaic tour guide emissary from the Feywilds who's trapped on an endless journey towards an unseen destination .. it's sassy as hell and just the right amount of british to be infuriating
Emeril the Sea Elf chef and Fighter (played by @anonprotagging) .. retired from being a soldier and running from his past to owning a small tavern (and running from his past) .. very blunt (like his cast iron frying pan)
Spinifer the ??? Bard and travel-book writer (played by Opus's player) .. looking for the scoop on the local scene in hopes of bringing more folks over from her homeland .. common isn't her first language and she delights in learning cool new words, like "paranormal" and "clusterfuck"
Phira the Deep Gnome Monster Hunter (played by the Storm's player) .. haunted by her past and now interested in that which is haunted, this little conspiracy theorist is going to get to the bottom of this mystery if it's the last thing she does (but not actually—she'd like to live you know)

Okay, so I saw a post about the fruity four and their DND classes and I've maybe been thinking about it a little nonstop so here are my thoughts enjoy
The Teens
Steve - Paladin, Oath of Redemption. The redeeming is for him, btw, he needs all the help he can get. His weapon of choice is a spiked club that was originally Jonathan's.
Eddie - Bard/Rogue. He was a rogue first because of his dad and then discovered the power of shredding it and the rest is history. College of Glamour and a Thief. If his dad hadn't been the one to teach him, then he'd absolutely be an Arcane Trickster. Also he's a Tiefling because "hunt the freak" babey.
Robin - A Wizard, because she's a nerd. Idk why but I see her going the Transmutation route before switching to Abjuration after Upside Down shenanigans.
Nancy - A Gunslinger, this is obvious. Look at her.
Jonathan - Barbarian! Who fights against his natural rage because he hates it! :D (his rage: aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go apeshit? Jonathan: I'd really rather not).
Argyle - Druid, Circle of Dreams. Day by day, he lives his life just hoping he'll suddenly know what the heck is going on. But he's chill about it.
The Kids
Mike - Paladin is like, the one, right? Paladin of Devotion? We all agree?
Will - Warlock, specifically the Fiend. The Demogorgon is literally referenced in the pact description I don't make the rules. Made a pact with the Upside Down, probably against his will and probably didn't know what happened until a lot later.
Eleven - Shadow Magic Sorcerer! Her blood is tainted by the Upside Down. Also Tiefling El is v cool.
Lucas - Ranger, Monster Slayer Conclave. Still loves his slingshot.
Dustin - Artificer being trained under Mr. Clark. Battle Smith because they have these things called Steel Defenders, which are like automaton companions and his is basically D'art but a robot.
Max - Monk, Way of the Shadow. Still has her skateboard because why not.
Erica - Mastermind Rogue. Gets all the dirt on everybody and is NOT afraid to use it.
The Adults
Hopper - Fighter, either a Banneret or a Champion. Has a level in Barbarian as a treat. (But ALSO. Blood Hunter Hopper. Can we imagine).
Joyce - Cleric of the Light Domain, but only after Will was stolen away to the Upside Down. Her holy person helped her figure out how to communicate with him through torchlight and sunlight. (Can't decide on whether or not she has an actual like, god she worships or if it's just the living will of the Right Side Up).
Murray - Divination Wizard who is very confused and upset that his "sight" doesn't work in Hawkins. What to heck.

⌚☂♨☆ for minah and dai!
thanks my dear!!! // random headcanon meme
⌚ : Is your muse good with keeping on schedule for meetings, appointments, or events, or are they always late? Or, are they always a bit early?
MINAH — she’s.... pretty good, I think. usually mostly on time. definitely has a sense of these things, especially when it comes to performing, but years on the road has taught her that no one is ever quite as on time as they mean to be, herself included.
DAI — he’s super detail oriented and that includes being on time (early) for everything. I imagine most of the rest of the party is not particularly punctual, which is a small but endlessly needling source of stress
☂  : Does your muse like rain?
MINAH — not really. like it’s pretty and it’s nice when it hasn’t rained in a bit but it’s a bit of a pain in the ass and she’s camped in the rain enough (and performed in the rain enough) that she doesn’t really get the romanticism. also, rain means smaller crowds, which means less money, and less money is never a good thing
DAI — mostly, yeah! he’s not a super big fan of being stuck out in it, but he likes rainy weather in general. being a sky domain cleric means most weather is pretty a-okay with him
♨ : Does your muse have good table manners? How do they feel about bad table manners?
MINAH — pretty good! like she’s not going to be eating with nobility or anything but she’s not rude or anything. her parents raised her better than that. she’s mostly content to ignore bad table manners—you don’t eat in the dirt clustered around the fire for half your life to get picky about knife etiquette. as long as nobody is getting stabbed she’s happy
DAI — his table manners are good and he is definitely judgemental of bad table manners but he’s unlikely to say anything unless it’s to someone he’s close with (i.e. izzy please close your mouth while you’re chewing). he’s a bit of a snob and it comes through at some odd times.
☆ : Of the sun, stars, and the moon, which is your muse’s favorite?
MINAH — ooooooooh stars. good to navigate by, and there are stories in them.
DAI — the sun! that’s his god babey

Under the cut are the subclasses I'd entertain for a DND inspired verse for Miss Blendy
Artificer: battlesmith
Barbarian: idk, maybe ancestral guardian
Bard: college of glamour
Cleric: grave domain bc that's cool
Druid: ik ik that spores is the gothy druid subclass, but nothing beats circle of dreams for miss blendy
Fighter: cavalier, probably
Monk: way of the long death
Paladin: oath of devotion
Ranger: feywanderer, babey
Rogue: uhhhh.... Uhhh...... Hmmm.... I'd love to say arcane trickster but that subclass feels more whimsical than she is. Phantom is more likely
Sorcerer: aberrant mind, unfortunately
Warlock: unfortunately probably great old one. It's a tragedy for me, personally, because we all know I'll make it about nirvana somehow. tfw ur patron is your trauma
Wizard: necromancy ☺️😌🪦

Colors That Run Highlights 28
whoops, doing this the day of the next session,,
Just before the group’s month of downtime began, Corrin announced at breakfast that he would be leaving the party. He said he needed to learn who he was, in the wake of becoming a new version of himself and losing his past life, basically. He’d go traveling with Astrid, helping her search for her original owner. This reveal did not go over super well-- Slim stiffly wished Corrin well, but both he and Kattie made a quick retreat when Calypso started pushing back against some of what Corrin was saying. Yelling and arguing and Emotions happened. It was not an amicable parting... but Corrin did say he would visit and write.
From there, the group dispersed. Slim and Kattie went to Arepal and had some adventures there, meanwhile Calypso and Fea stayed behind in Guild City to work their respective jobs and just... live, for a while.
Calypso had a(nother) Dream Sequence with a literal god, and was gifted some magical power, along with a holy symbol which took the form of a wildflower that now decorates one of her horns. Took a level in cleric, babey because losing Dave was soul crushing, Calypso wanted to be able to help people in his position, and because we needed a lil more healing, man
The month of downtime ended, and Calypso and Fea were promptly approached by Liam, who had taken up a delivery job until he’s old enough to join the Heroes’ Guild. Liam handed Calypso a letter and introduced the gals to their new group member-- a tiefling woman named Valor (and her small dragon companion named Sven).
Valor said that she had met Corrin on her way to the city, and said that Corrin had spoken highly of the Breakfast Club. Calypso soured a bit at the mention of Corrin, and focused on reading the letter while Fea and Valor talked a bit about what brought Valor to Guild City-- Valor had returned to her family home to find it burned and was seeking the truth behind that.
Calypso, looking a bit spooked (and guilty), announced that the letter was from her old gang in Aegis, the Black Smoke. They spotted Slim and Kattie on the streets of Aegis and captured them, and now wanted a ransom for them. They specified a date and location to do the trade off. Calypso, Fea, and Valor hastily prepared to travel (and fight their way through the gang instead of paying, naturally) and set off for the capital.
Tumblr media
On the road, the group stopped at the sight of a distressed tabaxi couple, one of whom appeared to be in labor. Valor stepped up to assist with the birth, claiming she had helped birth deer before. Calypso cast Guidance to help her, and the husband helped by giving his hand to his wife to squeeze. The labor went well, and three healthy babies were delivered.
Once the group were in Aegis, Calypso thought back to her memories of the Black Smoke to try and recall where they would be meeting. They also considered enlisting the Infernal Champion for help, but “the ol’ goat” wasn’t at their shop, so it was just the three of them on this mission. Calypso gave some description of the higher ups in the gang, including the big dragonborn boss that broke her nose back in the day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Calypso’s recollection brought the group to a tavern called the Lunar Focus, and it was decided that Valor, who would not be recognized by the gang or anyone affiliated with them, would go inside and do some recon.
Tumblr media
Valor didn’t seem too familiar with how taverns work, and was also having to scold Sven off of begging for food. After buying ale (and deciding she disliked it), she came back outside and requested that the others join her and assist. The bartender, an orc woman named Leiden, told the party that the gang was holed up in her basement via references to “rats” that I rolled poorly IRL to discern. The gang had been charging her for their protection of her business, and she wanted them out.
The group was allowed to go in the back and decided to send the very stealthy Valor to scout ahead. She reported three doors, one of which being barred closed. Unfamiliar with “new chick,” Calypso asked if Valor could beat ass, because this was about to be a real fight. Valor responded that she had once killed an owlbear by shooting it through its eye. Calypso had to admit, that was pretty badass. The three of them then proceeded downstairs.
Tumblr media
After some investigating and perceiving, Fea used her Life-O-Vision to discern that there were several people behind one of the doors. They entered and saw the most notable members of The Black Smoke, including the boss (Balasar), underboss (Jill Slater), and captain (Mittens). Jill sneered at Calypso and asked if she had brought the 2000 gold they asked for in the letter. Calypso said she had knuckles with Jill’s name on them. A fight ensued, naturally.
Tumblr media
While Valor tended to hang in the back and shoot her bow from a distance, Fea and Calypso moved about the room to their various targets. One of the gangster, a tiefling named Oran, cast Polymorph on Valor and turned her into a rabbit. Despite her intrusive carrot and breeding thoughts, she used her lil rabbit teeth to bite at her assailants. Calypso ran up on Oran and started throwing hands and exchanging banter. Inflict Wounds also happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultimately though Calypso took Oran tf out, ramming his head into a pillar. Then she joined Fea in battling (and taunting) Madame Slater... that is, until she Misty Stepped behind Balasar, and their focused shifted again. Calypso was seeking payback on her old boss, intent on cracking his nose.

One by one, the gang members fell, until it was only Balasar left. Calypso went one-on-one (well, kinda, Valor was also shooting arrows) with him, eventually dropping him-- unconscious, not dead. Valor tied him up and the plan was to dump his ass in jail-- payback! Meanwhile, Fea went to the back of the room, finding Kattie and Slim restrained and trapped behind a metal grate in the floor. She lifted them out and undid their restraints. Kattie and Slim looked like they had been through hell, having been tortured and not properly cared for. Fea gave them a hug.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Calypso ran over and hugged them as well, then cast Cure Wounds on both of them. Baby’s first healing. After some looking around, the group was able to find Slim and Kattie’s weapons-- Slim had built his new shotgun. The flame decorations on the comb (just googled that term) had been imbued with fire runes, courtesy of the Infernal Champion, which is why the two had been in Aegis to begin with. After a little more looting and Valor offering Goodberries (goodcarrots) to the party, they all headed upstairs.
Kattie and Slim settled down to relax after their harrowing experience, Fea took Balasar to the authorities, and Calypso and Valor went outside looking for one of the unaccounted for gang members-- a girl named Nora. Valor’s tracking skills only got them so far, as it was raining now, so eventually they gave up.
Tumblr media
Calypso returned to the Lunar Focus, badgered Leidan into giving her some paper and a pen, and wrote a note for Nora, should she ever return to the tavern.
Fea asked Slim if he would want to stay at the Lunar Focus for the night or if he’d prefer elsewhere. Slim glanced at Kattie before saying he’d prefer to go somewhere else. Kattie gave him a smile and Slim blushed a little and hid behind Fea’s shoulder. Not sure how Dex expects us not to babygirl Slim.
Tumblr media
At the new tavern, everyone split off into three rooms-- Valor in her own, Slim and Kattie in theirs, and Calypso and Fea in the third. Slim and Kattie slept until noon, can’t blame them, and Fea brought up their breakfast. After Slim took a well-deserved prinCESSa bath, the group talked a bit, doing a little catching up. Calypso showed off her new tattoo and the whole healing thing (Fea added that she also has the cute little flower now). Valor mentioned that she had... spent a night with Corrin actually, though she refused to “kiss and tell.” Also, Valor didn’t know what “fucking” meant in this context.
Tumblr media
The group made their way back to Guild City. Some... nightmares were had on the way. Slim was told of the tabaxi birth and was jealous that he missed it. But the group returned home a week after Slim’s birthday! To celebrate, Calypso rushed off to the Brewers’ Guild to mix him a margarita and rushed it back to the cabin. Fea said that Calypso had been working hard on learning mixology, and Slim did approve of her drink. Valor thought the drink was another ale, and upon trying it, decided she didn’t like “the burning” part of it.
Slim offered to show Valor perhaps the best part of living in the Breakfast Club cabin-- his cookies. As he got to baking, Kattie went to relax in the bedroom and play some guitar. Fea joined her and they talked a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Slim, Calypso, and Valor hung out in the kitchen, passing a joint around. Father and daughter had a conversation about what they would do about the woman that had beat them in combat and gotten Dave killed. Slim wasn’t about vengeance, and reasoned that it would be better to leave her alive and get her locked up. Calypso heard him out and despite her preference for beating ass, respected Slim’s perspective. Slim added that it would be good to maybe start looking into Daniel’s whereabouts-- the priority being that he’s no longer able to hurt people with the weapons Slim designed.
After that heavy conversation, they just sat back and enjoyed the high. Calypso eventually admitted it was nice to have Slim back and that it was awfully quiet with everyone gone. Slim said it was nice to be back.

Listen game mechanics wize this is fucking awful but story wize: cleric who dies makes deal with a warlock patron to stay alive bc they love their party so much. Consequently this nullifies their cleric powers but at least they're alive right

real talk, if audrey ever goes into paranormal investigation it’s all over for you people. she would be so good at it. she solves 50% of cases by befriending the monster and the other 50% either by tricking it into leaving, or by being extremely rude

Me: "Y'know, i sure do play a lot of disenfranchised nobles w/ magical abilities and vaguely (or overtly) grouchy personalities who struggle to be kind even though it's what they want the most, also their family is almost always after them one way or another
Mayhaps I'll spice it up a little and play a weird pink Tiefling dude who just really likes birds and whose dad is a small-time crimelord or some shit"
DM: -makes my character the firstborn son of a literal king and big-time crimelord who was disowned by his father after running away when a botched assassination mission he was on turned him into a druid, has a younger brother who has been sent by their father to bring him back dead or alive-

CR3 crew:  First impressions!!
Imogen:  Cute but I don’t really have a read on her yet!  Her dynamic with Laudna is fun but I think it’ll take a bit to get to know her with how vivid this group is.
Laudna:  HOLY SHIT INSTANTLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE CR CHARACTERS???????  MA’AM?????  as soon as the description started I was STARING RESPECTFULLY that is MY JAM IN EVERY WAY but also to make it even better she’s awkward and a bit silly and ridiculous and terrifying and it’s EVEN MORE FUN when she tries to be polite or nice or encouraging while looking like something straight from a nightmare.  Ma’am I adore you.
Ashton:  As soon as Tal said “he/they” I was shooting to the ceiling, HOLY FUCK what an amazing design, I am dying to know more history.  His personality seemed a little flat at first but after like ten seconds of interacting with Fresh Cut Grass I was so endeared.  As rough around the edges as they come but seems like a sweetheart, and like I mentioned before really does have Gerry vibes.
Fresh Cut Grass:   I SWEAR TO GOD THIS WAS THE LAST THING I EXPECTED.  Cleric??  Therapist?? Babey cutie robot???  “Smiley day to you!”???  Just wants to encourage everyone??  Tragic lone survivor of an adventuring group?  MY CHILD.
Bertrand:  This was my first time meeting him so it counts!  Travis is fucking hilarious and seems to be having the time of his life playing him, but the questgiver vibes are SO strong that this can’t be a full-campaign character.  I’m expecting a swap-out.
So the EXU characters aren’t new but I only watched one episode so giving impressions anyway.
Dorian - I do not remember him being this cute and entertaining??  I love bards that play against type, and him being awkward and a bit frantic now and then is just delightful.  Also who allowed you to be so beautiful sir??
Orym:  I don’t remember him from EXU and I kinda didn’t notice him here...?  Like Imogen I imagine I’ll have to wait a bit.
Fearne:  LEGENDARY.  Honestly while I was hoping for 100% new characters for everyone, having her back and, seemingly, the troublemaker of this new group makes it all worth it.

An exhaustive list of Bloodborne bosses I would or would not date
Father Gascoigne
Tumblr media
We’re starting this list off with a strong yes. You may be like, but Blue, this is a married man with two daughters! To this I reply: I pretend not to hear it. Also, not to be horrible, but his wife is dead while I’m right there baby, with my blunderbuss and my axe, and I’m ready to risk it all. YES, I know he’s a very stinky man, but you gotta make compromises sometimes. What’s that smell? Ah, the sweet dilf, it sings to me.
Cleric Beast
Tumblr media
Let me be clear, I’m not a furry, but the Cleric Beast has stated some facts and made some points! The only reason why I’m not to keen on dating it is that it can’t best me in battle, which is something I’m always looking for in a partner.
Blood Starved Beast
Tumblr media
Our first no of the list, I’m not very into skin flaps and poison, which the Blood Starved Beast has plenty of. Moreover, I’d have to get Djura’s approval, and that scares me beyond anything else in Yharnam.
Vicar Amelia
Tumblr media
Another Cleric Beast, this time with a bit more flair to it. First of all we just have to admire the way she transforms, very sexy and bloody, which is something you’re gonna want in your relationship if you’re someone who likes fun. (Thiccar) Amelia, cradle me like your golden pendant.
Hemwick witches
Tumblr media
Another hard no here. No offense, but I like having eyes, and dating a pair of witches covered in eyes that they’ve been harvesting for years doesn’t seem like a good idea to me!
Shadows of Yharnam
Tumblr media
Honestly yeah? You get 3 cool partners in black robes for the price of one. They all wield different weapons, which makes for two excellent things. First of all, you get a very efficient bodyguard team (useful at parties, when a hunter gets drunk on blood, or when you open your front door and a beast is there). Secondly, if you want to have a fun sparring match with your partners, which we all know is a fundamental activity in a couple, you have very varied options!
And a bonus for animal lovers: they can spawn snakes at will for you!! Never a boring day with your 3 hooded partners.
Rom, the vacuous spider
Tumblr media
NO. Don’t date Rom. She’s baby! She doesn’t understand what’s going on. Instead, here’s a list of nice activities you can do with Rom:
- Read her stories
- Trims her back growths
- Clean her teeth
- Make her some cute little glasses
- Knit matching socks for her and her children
- Teach her new spells
- Not date her
Darkbeast Paarl
Tumblr media
Paarl is a similar situation as Rom. He’s just a little puppy… He doesn’t know what dating is. He knows what going on a walk means, though! So go on, go on a happy little walk with Paarl. He’ll love it, you’ll have fun, everyone will be happy.
Amygdala
Tumblr media
Yes. Evidence that it’s a good idea is: lots of arms (good hugs), can grab the shit out of me, CAN and WILL crush me, can sometimes shatter my consciousness with its eldritch powers (very sexy), can send me in other dimensions, will annihilate my enemies with a funky laser beam, and the most amazing feature: can pop it’s eyes out of its skull like a stress ball (fun trick to show your friends at parties). The ideal girlfriend.
The One Reborn
Tumblr media
NO!!!!! There’s a lot of freaky stuff I’d date in Bloodborne but the One Reborn is NOT one of them. Firstly, it has 6 nannies. Do I look like the type of person who wants their dates consistently moderated by 6 Pthumerian elders? No!!! I’m a free bitch baby!! And in addition to that, Juan Reborn just has too many limbs. It’s not okay. If we ever got engaged I wouldn’t know where to slip the ring.
Micolash, Host of the Nightmare
Tumblr media
Would I..? No, I wouldn’t… Unless? Haha, just kidding. Wait… Actually… Um.
I mean… If you’re into bastardous hysterical little men who howl while running around, sure. BUT beware… You might lose him in a mirror and never find him again, which I find very inconvenient. Imagine going shopping with a guy who compulsively disappears in mirrors. Imagine explaining to the store employees why your dumbass boyfriend broke all their mirrors.
Also, how will we kiss?  With the cage on the way?
Oh god, do I have to wear a cage too?
Celestial Emissaries
Tumblr media
I’m not against having a multitude of partners but I’m afraid that might be too much for me. Also, they look like little tiny bebes. I know I’ve said before that I wasn’t ready to be a parent, but I might make an exception for the Celestial Emissaries — let them chill in my home, make them pb&j sandwiches, stuff like that.
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
Tumblr media
Dear Ebrietas… I have a lot of fondness for her but she looks way too much like mac’n’cheese for comfort. She’s invited for sleepovers and all, no doubt about that, but I see our future together as platonic.
Martyr Logarius
Tumblr media
Now Listen… Logarius is an Enemy of women. The proof of his crimes still remains in Cainhurst castle. Do I want to date the genocidal Yharnam Santa? Are you really asking me that? Do you take me for Executioner Alfred? I am not crazy. I will not date Martyr Logarius and his red skulls spamming ass (however miss Annalise queen of the Vilebloods, call me).
Mergo’s Wet Nurse
Tumblr media
Um yes of course? Tall dark eldritch wife? I feel like Mergo’s Wet Nurse is the Dancer of Bloodborne, where I’m in a situation where I’m presented with the ideal girlfriend and people expect me to say no because she’s an enormous eldritch entity who could kill me in one hit or whatever. Do you think me a coward? Do you believe that I am not willing to risk it all for invisible girls? Think again.
Gehrman, the First Hunter
Tumblr media
Ew no! Gross! He’s gonna make a doll designed after me and I will have to call the police!
Moon Presence
Tumblr media
On one hand yes (see Mergo’s Wet Nurse) but on the other hand… I feel like the Moon Presence would be too possessive and easily jealous. I just need some freedom, yknow? The liberty to go out and make friends with other Great Ones. And I know she would NOT like that. She’d ask me if I’m the only Great One I’m talking to and I’d have to nervously hide my phone and say Yes Babe Always Babe, lest she would shackle me to an unending dream. I’m not about that life.
Ludwig the Accursed/the Holy Blade
Tumblr media
I genuinely don’t know what to say. The screaming horse man? Am I— the horse boy? Him? No. I… I’m not gonna. I love his sword. Lots of class. Very good theme song, could be cool to have him as a friend (maybe I could ride him around to different locations?) but to date? Kiss his horse mouth? KISS HIS EYE MOUTH? You could say that… Neigh.
Laurence, the First Vicar
Tumblr media
NOW WE’RE TALKING BABEY… All the class of the Cleric Beast with FIRE included! Picture this: it’s the winter, it’s snowing, and you’re cold… NOT! You are dating a FLAMING BEAST, you are never cold. Laurence has one proper arm to hold you and one arm that’s a constant flaming inferno, which means he’s great for the summer and the winter, depending on which temperature you want to be at. Your enormous flaming boyfriend will always be at your side.
Living Failures
Tumblr media
First of all mood, second of all, this is kind of a Celestial Emissaries situation where I’m not against having many partners but I don’t want a whole congregation of them. There’s just too many Living Failures. I also like dating people with faces? And that aren’t, like, blue. So it’s a no from me, but I’ll befriend them. I’ll go garden with them and all. We can have a girls’ night, it’s all good.
Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower
Tumblr media
I’m gonna have to be predictable and say yes here, but fair warning, Lady Maria isn’t for everyone! I know she looks like the perfect wife, but get this; this lady is a hunter. She’s only a lady because she’s related to royals. She has nothing ladylike in her. You think she takes baths? You think she knows what self-care IS????? I laugh at your ignorance, at how you misunderstand her. Maria is a stinky girl; but she is MY stinky girl.
Orphan of Kos
Tumblr media
I don’t want to date the Orphan of Kos because he was literally just born and still has his placenta attached to him.  I don’t care for infants, and I don’t care for violent infants. I wouldn’t even want to invite him over to play with the Celestial Emissaries or something. He’s like that asshole child in kindergarten who hurts the other kids for fun. Am I being harsh to a literal baby and an orphan at that? Maybe. But Kos herself couldn’t tell me I’m wrong.
Bonus chalice boss: Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen
Tumblr media
Now listen here… Yharnam is a queen, tall and kinda eldritch, absolutely rabid, which we’ve established is my type. Shall I step on the toes of Oedon and declare her mine? Perhaps. She has a very powerful scream, which worries me in case of a domestic fight, but overall I get to marry a kind of eldritch queen, which is alright in my book. I know she has an equally eldritch baby, but it’s formless, so it doesn’t bother me that much.   Dark Souls 1 ll Dark Souls 2 SOTFS ll Dark Souls 3
