Dear Vector Prime,
How did Gnaw and Cindersaur become members of the Predacons and Terrorcons, respectively?
Dear Legends Leftover,
In the case of the former, it was more by accident than anything. Gnaw had been the leader of a team of Sharkticons sent into the depths of Cybertron to pull the large switch controlling the Exponential Null Generator. When that plan went awry, he ended up following Galvatron to the surface, and from there to Chaar, without being noticed.
When Galvatron finally stumbled across Gnaw (chewing on the base of his makeshift throne), the Decepticon leader threw him to the Predacons—declaring that since they were both spawn of the Quintessons, they should get along fine.
Razorclaw knew better than to argue with Galvatron when he was in one of his moods, and reluctantly accepted the Sharkticon. When the Predacons went on their hunts, they would toss the scraps to Gnaw, keeping him around as a living waste disposal machine.
Cindersaur, by contrast, was deliberately headhunted. Hun-Gurr had been keeping his watchful eyes on the Combiner Wars, and had seen the other combiner teams picking up new members to replace fallen ones or to increase their number. The Terrorcons' rivals, the Technobots, had acquired two new members even, which stirred envy in the Terrorcon leader. Still, Hun-Gurr was not about to recruit just anyone to join his squad; he wanted an outcast—someone whose loyalty would lie with him over any other Decepticon. He found the perfect bot with Cindersaur. The Firecons had recently broken up, and Cindersaur had found themself lost without their teammates... literally. They had gone on a rampage, ending up completely disoriented in Chaar’s wilderness. Their usual means of retracing their steps, by blazing a trail behind them, had completely failed them in a landscape where everything was already burned and blackened, and they'd been wandering in circles for months.
Hun-Gurr tracked them down, and offered Cindersaur a place in the Terrorcons. He had a quick recruitment form for Cindersaur to incinerate, and that was that! The other Terrorcons were hesitant at first, but they soon came around, after realizing that the smell of smoldering metal helped mask Blot’s stench.

Transformers: Mosaic #501 - "The Last Enemy"
Originally posted on June 14th, 2010
Story, Colours - Matt Marshall Art - Ed Pirrie Letters - Andrew Turnbull
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005 | BotTalk
wada sez: On deviantART, Marshall said: “I think I originally explictly stated that Unicron was the Transformer's version of Death in it, but then I thought that was too clumsy, so made it subtle.” As he’d intended it, “Death” would appear with a more original design to obfuscate this fact, per a comment on TFW2005: “That was the original idea, he was going to have a scythe, but the artist went a different way, and I won't stand in the way of an artist!” Pirrie’s final design ended up being based on the Cybertron Unicron toy, removing any ambiguity. The narration in the opening panel here is based on the original animation for the scene, with Marshall remarking: “Fun fact, I spent ages lovingly colouring in the laser blast in the first panel purple, before realising my mistake :(” The deaths of Wheeljack and Windcharger, as seen here in panel 3, occurred offscreen during the movie. In panel 4, Enemy is seen downloading a “-master Project”, presumably “Headmaster Project”, a term originating in Transformers Animated (at least to my knowledge) being applied to the original G1 version of the concept. A Maximal sigil appears in panel 6, moving the timeframe forward to the end of the Great War. The titular saying, quoted in panel 8, is biblical in origin—Corinthians 15:26. Marshall’s remastered version of this strip from his Tales From The Matrix Keeper zine is included below, along with clean inks and a preview panel.

Indulging in my own AU stuff for EarthSpark, because like my issues with Cyberverse, apparently I have to do it myself. Reestablishing contact with Cybertron is what I want to see, and I’m not sure if they’ll follow up Breakdown going back to Cybertron atm. Anyhow rather than Decepticons, though they’d appear later too, I thought first contact with Cybertron would be via a more aggressive breed of Autobot, having forced to work with a dubious faction of an entirely separate Transformer race, to keep their head above water.
I went with Magnus to reference Animated, but I originally wanted him to be Regulus Prime (both he and Amazon(us) Prime were former Primes in IDW TF vs GI Joe), but I stuck with Magnus knowing Hasbro would be twitchy about new after Optimus/Rodimus Primes.
The other Maltos are off doing something else with Megatron, with the reason Robbie being here with Graham’s group is because after his near death experience he got mad at his parents gushing over Mo (and ignoring him) and just wanted to get away for awhile. Nightshade followed because they were concerned about Ol’ Rob.

Will we see the terror cons Primus Unicron Logos prime Predaking Sharkticons Gnaw Sunder thunderwing some heralds of unicron the vok strika obsidian & primon but as the alpha prime since he was a convoy last time
We have a group of crime family members calling themselves the Terrorcons. They ruled a good chunk of Kaon for a good portion of the Age of Balance, and are rumored to be connected to a massive beast of war known as Abominus, said to be one of the last natural Gestalta.
Primus and Unicron are, as we understand, metaphorical beings for the balance of positive and negative traits, and anyone who says otherwise is probably raised in a very spiritual household.
Logos Prime is a latecomer to the spiritual landscape of Cybertron, with some arguing he's the Thirteenth Prime and others that he was some kind of philosopher.
There are many bots with Shark-alt modes, and perhaps some of the odder ones are the saurian-fish hybrid beings that have taken residence aboard the Lodestar after they were fried from their Quintesson master.
Gnaw is a name we know of, but what it's connected to is unclear, though some theorize it has something to do with the aforementioned Sharkticons.
Sunder is one of a few criminals who self-identified as a member of the Autobots, but the "Tetrahax Ripper" is mostly disregarded as just another monster.
Thunderwing worked under the command of several Decepticons including Megadeath, though these days its believed he's operating on his own terms after an encounter with wandering Hero Adrestia.
There is, as far as we know, no group calling themselves the "Heralds of Unicron." There's a band called the "Knights of Unicron," but they're an edgy hair metal band.
What's a Vok?
Strika and Obsidian are a pair of generals currently helping with repairs on Acadeimos. They're believed to be the parents of Cadet Blastcharge, but according to them they don't know how to parent so, uh, draw from that how you will.
I'm pretty sure we have files on Focus Convoy / Primon you can find.

Dear, Vector Prime. I wonder what was the magnificent Sky Lynx doing during the events of "The Rebirth" as he did not return for Season 4 of The Transformers, given the last-time we saw him in the American G1 cartoon continuity on-screen in the American G1 cartoon continuity was in the episode "The Return of Optimus Prime Part 2" where he was affected with the Hate Plague by an Hate-Plague infected Rodimus Prime?
Dear Missing Magnificence,
After Optimus Prime unleashed the wisdom of the Matrix, Sky Lynx was cured. His next mission was to return Klementia, the Quintesson who saved Optimus Prime's life, back to New Quintessa. Together, they found scattered pockets of roving Sharkticon bands, confused in all the Hate Plague-induced mayhem. Sky Lynx found himself spending a lot of time with the Sharkticons, and even considered himself an honorary member as he deigned to help reunify their ranks. The Autobot-Sharkticon alliance helped Klementia to demonstrate to the other Judges the benefits of an armistice with the Autobots. Thus, the Second Golden Age was a revival not only of Cybertron, but also of cooperation between Autobot and Quintesson.

Later revised and annotated for Transformers: The Lost Seasons
wada sez: The first part of yet another three-part trilogy from these guys, titled “They Were Titans”—y’know, ‘cause they’re literally Titans. I’m told Mosaic at one point had a hard limit on multi-part stories going no longer than three strips, and I have to imagine that was entirely because of this team. Click the link above to find out what they meant by this, I’m not your dad. See below for a character model for the little Sharkticons and a cover for this storyline.
