Definitely put it in the tags and comments who your other picks would have been if Tumblr polls allowed multiple selections

are there characters or scenes or storyline in Chosen that you didn't like?
I was very open about my general dislike for a lot of season 3, mostly the storyline about Tamar, and about Zebedee starting oil olive business. I don't like how it was casually forgotten that Tamar used to sell flowers in a market, not be a fashionista (?), I didn't like at first the fact that the oil olive business storyline was even there at the first place (it was intriduced clumsily, because I admit it was later explained. A bit heavy handed on symbolism, maybe). I am also not a fan of the fact that in season 3 women's story revolved around this, instead of showing them preaching to the tent city - as Jesus said they would. I think even in this show the creators are forgeting prophetesses were not unheard of, women were not simply acessories, and would prophesy as well.
I was never, and I mean never a fan of Simon Peter on this show. I know he's regarded as the primary character by many, and I know we're supposed to like his dry humor, but it's never been doing anything for me. And yes, I get it he's supposed to be sort-of unlikeable, so that we can see his character arch in later seasons, but he was portrayed as such an unlikeable character I simply. Do not like him. And at this point there is nothing he could do that I would look at him differently (not to mention according to the Bible we will continue to mess up time after time): I think mostly his obliviousness to his wife struggles puts me off. And I understand why it's portrayed like this, but it still baffles me he's the one befriending Gaius, when Gaius has already had a begrudging friendship with Matthew and the show could follow that lead.
I disliked the black and white, mute sequence of the Apostles preaching at the beginning of season 3, because it stood as a contrast to other times there was a time jump on the show and... it just wasn't that entertaining, or that moving, to watch. For a sequence that was advertised so heavily, it fell short (same with the 15 minute long one shot in season 2. The Chosen is shot beautifully, but it doesn't mena it's going to win any award for the camera work, so for them to try and lean into this direction is a bit funny in my eyes. These shots are not that good, they are simply okay).
All in all, I didn't like season 3, but still like the show in an overall sense and would reccomend it.

being an atheist communist lesbian and becoming obsessed with a show made by and for evangelical christians wasn’t exactly my smartest move

Okay Judean Beauty Contest time 🤣 which of the disciples as portrayed in the Chosen TV show do you find most attractive?
If you don't watch the show feel free to look at the pics below and give your vote.
And we're talking in show here because some of them are more attractive out of character (George Xanthis is much cuter than John imo) and some of them are cuter in character (Z is much more handsome than Alaa Safi sorry)

*yes I realize Yoshi Barrigas no longer plays Philip but he's the Philip we've had the most of on screen kinda like Abe's Big James so that's who I'm going with

Please, if you care about Palestine, please boycott The Chosen and Angel Studios
🍉 Masterpost with links to help Palestine 🍉
The Chosen Boycott Twitter acc with a direct fundraiser link, to send direct aid into Palestine 🇵🇸
For those who dont know, The Chosen is a biblical series about the life of Jesus of Nazareth and his disciples. A series about palestinian jew, who grew up in constant displacement, who fought in a pacifist way, against the roman imperialism during their colonization of Palestinian and surrounding territories.
He was heavily against the abuse of authority, the inhuman mistreatment of people , helping the poor and sick, gave a hand and ate with outcasts, never turning away from people who needed aid.
Palestinians are currently, and for the past decades facing constant displacement, abuse of unrecognized authority, falling to sickness and are in much needed humanitarian aid.
A series about the life of a historical palestinian jewish man should not be created and acted out by zionists.
The confirmed list of cast memebers suporting Israel are:
Dallas Jenkins (Creator, producer and writer)
Elijah Alexander (Actor, in the role of Atticus)
Shahar Isaac (Actor in the role of Simon Peter.) He was called into the Israeli military to participate in the genocide and was spotted in recent days in London for the S4 premiere)
David Amito (Actor in the role of John the Baptiser) (He has shown support for both Israel and Gaza, but seems to be mostly neutral to the situation)
[The list will be updated until there's confirmation of other people or statements issued from other cast and production members]
*This series is being funded primarily through fan donations. They're currently have a goal of 48 Million for the future season 5. Do not give them anymore money and urge others to NOT donate!!*
Just because the episodes are free on their app, does not mean its fine to watch them there. Nothing is ever truly for free. Especially when one of the cast members potentially has blood on their hands.
While the series has its own app from which to watch the episodes for free, theyre still going to release the episodes on theatres starting on February 1st.
The less views and users they recieve on their app, the better. Do not buy from their merch store. Do not go to the theaters and urge your friends and family who happen to be fans and are interested, to not go watch it.
Please, even if you are not religious, even if you've never even heard of this show before, please share this around. We cannot allow these people to make money, praising the life of a jewish palestinian (even if they don't want to admit he was) while ignoring what is happening in Palestine.
