"Planned To Give Up Crime, Marry, Gets Jail Instead,” Toronto Star. March 23, 1942. Page 29. ---- Irwin Frith, 17, Given Two Years - William McGee, 17, Goes to Prison ----- ADMITS 7 CHARGES --- ‘A’ Police Court, at the City Hall, Magistrate Browne. Brought from Orilia by Det.-Sergt. Frank Wilson and Det. M. Banks, after being sentenced there for armed robbery and other offences, Irwin Frirth, 17, and William McGee, 17, pleaded guilty to seven charges involving armed robbery, theft, and breaking and entering in Toronto.
At Orillia, Frith was given three years in penitentiary. McGee, with no record, was given two years less a day.
‘Considering the ages of the two, I think concurrent sentences, on these charges, with the sentence given them at Orillia will be all right,’ declared Magistrate Browne.
Both pleaded guilty of robbing J. Tayor, Jarvis St. druggist, March 18, and stealing 47, and attempting to rob H. Copeland, a grocer, attempted robbery of T. Swain, a messenger; breaking and entering a drug store and stealing 11 watches; breaking and entering a sports store and stealing two pistols and ammunition; thefts of an auto from W. Robinson and an auto from J. Cronyn. Mcgee alone pleaded guilty of stealing a bicycle. Det.-Sgt. Wilson said the stolen pistols and ammunition were used in the hold-ups. ‘They entered Taylor’s drug store,’ he said. ‘McGee covered the clerk and Frith took $7. They attempted to rob T. Sawin. They did not take his money, but fired a shot at a tree.
‘They went to Copeland’s store and attempted to hold up Mr. Copeland. He told them to go to --- and they walked out.
‘They took the Robinson auto March 17, picked up two girls and drove north, where they committed more crimes. They were chased by police and arrested by Chief Carson of Orillia after they went into a ditch,’ he concluded.
Frifth testified he intended to stop the business. ‘I was going to get married and go to work,’ he said.
“Given Probation,” Toronto Star. March 23, 1942. Page 29. --- ‘B’ Police Court, at the City Hall, Magistrate Gullen. Suspended sentence and probation for two years was given a ‘teen-aged youth when he appeared for sentence for theft from three homes. ‘You have a good home and bad company was apparently to blame,’ said the court.
Another 16-year-old youth admitted taking an auto and a truck from parking lots without the owner’s consent. Det. George Holmes stated considerable damage had been caused to the truck.
‘That will be paid,’ said defence counsel. ‘He has never been in trouble before and is working steadily.’
‘He will be remanded to March 27 for sentence,’ said the court.
‘You will be remanded until March 30 for sentence on your own bail of $200,’ his worship told George Adams, charged with aggravated assault by Earl Foxton. The trouble occurred in a downtown hotel. Complainant claimed he was struck with a beer bottle by Adams. ‘He struck a friend of mine and I struck him in self-defence when I thought he was going to hit me,’ said Adams.
Fifteen days in jail in addition to a week already spent in custody was meted out to N. Schultz. Last week he admitted theft of proceeds of a $14 cheque.
Remanded in custody until today on a charge of vagrancy, Robert Anderson, who, police last week said, wandered around during the night frequenting hamburger stands, was fined $50 or three months. Evidence disclosed a sergeant at Markham and London station, whose own son was overseas, had taken accused to his own home to live, supplied him with clothing and got him a job. This was after accused had applied for lodging at the station on three successive nights. Accused had been there only a short time when it became necessary to check up on his late hours. He left without saying good-by.
“Jailed Three Months,” Toronto Star. March 23, 1942. Page 29. --- ‘C’ Police Court, at the City Hall, Magistrate Prentice. Three months in jail was the penalty imposed on Edward Craig. He pleaded guilty of stealing two radios, one women’s blouse, a set of silverware and a clock from a store. A woman, jointly charged, was remanded for sentence and placed on probation for one year. She pleaded not guilty.
An investigator stated she had seen the two accused in the store. ‘The accused woman picked up a blouse and accused man covered it with a paper bag. They both walked out of the store and were stopped on the street,’ she continued.
The investigator further testified the accused man admitted taking two radios. ‘One radio was at a pawnshop, the other in accused woman’s room. In her room we also found the silverware,’ the investigator added.

My Fic Back Friday fic rec is....
STARGATE ATLANTIS: “Markham’s Journal“ by Fanwoman.
Summary: The city is flooding; most are dead or drowning. In the bay are two active Jumpers with a handful of survivors. We know what happened to Weir's ship. This is the story of the other, a tale of survival as told from one Sergeant's point of view.
A fic from 2006 and one of my old fandom loves, SGA. The S1 ep “Before I Sleep” was a favourite episode of mine and so it’s no surprise this fic captured my attention and stuck with me so I still think fondly of it over a decade later.
This is a well crafted tale of several recurring characters (Sgt. Markham, Dr Corrigan, Dr Simpson, Dr Kavanagh) and a couple of interesting OC’s surviving the horror of that other timeline. I love the almost apocafic type of scenario for them and it gave me so many feels with how they handled the very bleak situation they were left in.

MENU CBC NEWS Toronto First big snowfall of the season blankets Toronto Snow started falling Thursday afternoon and won’t let up until morning, Environment Canada says CBC News 2 Hours Ago WEA Ont Ice Storm 20180415 The Greater Toronto Area is being hit by the first big snowfall of the season and police are calling for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to stay clear of the roads if possible. (Cole Burston /Canadian Press) The Greater Toronto Area is getting its first real taste of winter weather. A low pressure system that began rolling through the city Thursday afternoon is expected to drop five and 10 cm of snow as it moves along the eastern seaboard of the U.S. ADVERTISEMENT "This is the largest snowfall event so far this season," Environment Canada said. The snow started in some areas in the mid-to-late afternoon as the temperature dipped to -1 C. But wind gusts made it feel like -5. In all, it made for treacherous conditions for motorists. "This will probably be the first time they are experiencing winter driving conditions," said Rob Kuhn, a severe weather meteorologist with Environment Canada's Ontario Storm Prediction Centre. A snowy day in Toronto Some areas of the GTA could see up to 10 cm of snow before Friday morning. (David Donnelly/CBC) The federal weather agency issued a winter weather travel advisory Thursday afternoon, warning drivers to be careful on the roads, which could be snowy, icy or slushy during tomorrow morning's drive in. "Motorists should plan for extra time to reach their destination," the advisory read. Flurries will continue through tonight and into Friday morning, says Kuhn, "until it turns into a messy mix of snow and rain." A high of 4 C is in the forecast Friday. People living along Lake Ontario, Kuhn added, can expect wetter snow and more rain from the get-go due to the warming effect of the lake. Dozens of 'cars spinning out,' police warn Drivers experienced a messy rush-hour commute Thursday evening with police across the GTA urging drivers to slow down due to icy roads. Ontario Provincial Police reported more than 40 automobile collisions on highways in the area during the peak. "We've got cars spinning out; we've got a jack-knifed transport truck; we've got collisions; we've got trucks in the ditch, we've got cars in the ditch; we've got cars hitting other cars and it's a busy day," said Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, a spokesperson for the OPP's Highway Safety Division. "Please drive safe. Please drive cautiously." The OPP has recommended that drivers avoid non-essential travel on the roads so city staff can deploy salt trucks. Meanwhile, York Regional Police said they were responding to dozens of crashes in Richmond Hill, Markham and Vaughan. Flights cancelled at Pearson, delayed at Billy Bishop Toronto's Pearson International Airport is urging travellers to check their flight status before leaving home and to arrive early at the airport. More than 112 departing flights and over 119 arriving flights were cancelled as of 8 p.m. Thursday. Billy Bishop Airport experienced less of an interruption in its operations, reporting that eight departing flights and four arriving flights were delayed. The airport tweeted it has been busy "clearing runways to make sure flights can take-off and land safely." I started a refugee claim Wednesday night and the experience has been extremely horrible. There's no assistance available for any food or housing as per the interaction w the people at the border patrol place. They told me to call a Red Cross number and for me to possibly stay at an emergency shelter. This is extremely bad and not what a person would prefer. They'd prefer comfortable decent personal space/living quarters. I am strained for food presently and have been often hungry. Its very expensive here in Toronto and there is some difficulty getting around without a vehicle with the very wide streets etc. Government already very bad with a structure built up and people birthed into the arrangement that would not make the structure themselves, but are at the mercy of the order. Very available for corruption with people not having equality and things in their own hands. But very dangerous to be in the in charge position and people at the mercy of the rule to try to survive etc. It's been so extremely bad. The hotel I am staying at is EXTREMELY BAD. It's Motel 6. It was extremely extremely expensive to look so bad. With taxes it's a hundred dollars a night. I am attacked by the governmental order with things being out of people's hands and that's one thing im trying to escape. Its totally insane w this refugee process including this attack where a person is at the mercy of the system to try to live in a place very cold and expensive. It's very dangerous, very nasty. I tried to exchange money at the airport at a money exchange counter on the i think the lowest level of tge airport using a check card and the worker at the counter told me i had to get and exchange cash money first from the ATM machine beside the counter. It was a $3.50 fee to use it and it apparently includes fees at the bank i use as well. The money dispensed was $100 in Canadian money. It was a way to try to make me lose money. Really I am attacked very bad by the devil with the present very horrible and disgusting order. It is too untrustworthy for people to be so at the mercy of the order or others that are not known to them or just doing things to get pay required to survive, it shouldnt be untrustworthy but people to be in in charge positions and others at the mercy of the position to get things needed is really corrupt and evil. Things should be equal and people should not be poor or so dependent on the dollar (or others or really anything) to try to live. The Red Cross number given me by the Boarder Patrol worker, which I didn't wish to use because the charity organizations are sappy and pathetic and actually insane theyre acting like they are to help people that are to be made poor etc, didnt work. It is showing this is a sham here. I don't really support government either, such as the Boarder Patrol (or the police) but I am birthed into this present order of things (which looks similar in pretty much every country) and at the mercy of it to try to survive. The worker w the boarder patrol also "seized" all of my identifying documents. I wasnt told the things would be kept when i was asked to present them. And i was very uninformed about what was happening regarding the process as I waited to talk to someone as the worker had apparently already been preparing my case unbeknownst to me. It was a long wait also and some of the boarder patrol workers were rude such as the first worker I talked to w the name DeSouza who was saying I didnt know what a refugee was and the worker implied I didnt understand what it meant to be a citizen of the United States. He was implying the country could do no wrong etc. Totally ridiculous. The worker said the wait etc to make a refugee claim would take long. Then i was given no kind of support for food or shelter etc upon my leaving boarder patrol even though i asked if there was anything to help me survive. 6. I didnt like i couldnt get my bags Id checked while i waited because i didnt wish my thing unattended by me at the checked baggage and I was worried about my things. I am attached to things i use etc and become accustomed to and i have had my things taken repeatedly by the US government arms/proceedings. It's very bad. It's not how people are is to have not regard for their things. Man and his tools: a very kind of quintessential thing to his like experience n way etc, nature. They are very tied especially in a place where the individual has not the support of a broader environment made by something other than himself as should be his own making and not something else's. A so very bad order and way of things. And it should discontinue. I wish some awareness to these issues and I wish some address. Very upsetting. Very bad, how things have gone. Quite a bit of snow outside presently which is unfortunate. But I am of some awareness this place, Canada, is not to be horrible and it is supposed to be a home for me and a place that is okay for me, not the order with poverty and detaining of people etc however, which is not my choosing. The land and place wishes to be a place I can stay. The cold and snow doesnt wish to be bad for me either. It told me in my mind. Sincerely, Marla Luster 7. I am awaiting a hearing Tuesday and am very strained for resources after i was only given this contact for Red Cross for any kind of assistance at all after I filed a refugee claim Wednesday night. I do not really support charity organizations as so okay. But it is the Red Cross contact was the only thing i was given to access any support etc. I called the Red Cross number, a toll free number from my cell phone using wifi calls at a hotel yesterday and the number didnt work. But I am doing very bad for food and the hotel i am at is extremely bad. Financially i am quite strained and am very concerned with how expensive things are etc. I am seeking if there is any support for refugees or someone seeking refugee status etc. I do not really support this order of things with poverty etc which likely why I dont have a lot of means, but I am in this world and needing to survive. But struggling very bad to survive in a very expensive environment and troublesome environment w the snow etc until my appointment on Tuesday. It's a very expensive place and a very troublesome place with the snow. Marla Luster 8. I started a refugee claim Wednesday night and the experience has been extremely horrible. There's no assistance available for any food or housing as per the interaction w the people at the border patrol place. They told me to call a Red Cross number and for me to possibly stay at an emergency shelter. This is extremely bad and not what a person would prefer, a shelter and no financial aid for food or shelter. They'd prefer comfortable, decent personal space/living quarters. Personal space: very valuable. I am strained for food presently and have been often hungry since I got here Wednesday night by plane after having been in Mexico (where I had intended to seek refuge but it was not able to be okay, work out). It's very expensive here in Toronto and there is some difficulty getting around without a vehicle with the very wide streets etc and traffic. Government already very bad with a structure built up and people birthed into the arrangement that would not make the structure themselves, but are still at the mercy of the order. It's totally insane/unreasonable with this refugee process including this attack where a person is at the mercy of the system to try to live in a place very cold and expensive. I don't really support government either, such as the Boarder Patrol (or the police) but I am birthed into this present order of things (which looks similar in pretty much every country) and at the mercy of it to try to survive. The worker w the boarder patrol also "seized" all of my identifying documents, including my drivers license. I wasn't told the things would be kept when i was asked to present them. And i was very uninformed about what was happening regarding the process as I waited to talk to someone as the worker had apparently already been preparing my case unbeknownst to me. It was a long wait also and some of the boarder patrol workers were rude such as the first worker I talked to with the name DeSouza who was saying I didnt know what a refugee was and the worker implied I didnt understand what it meant to be a citizen of the United States. He was implying the country could do no wrong etc and that was to be really so defined by its fluffy and unsubstantiated (except by people pretending third world countries are riduclously oppressive) reputation as rich and free etc. Totally ridiculous. The worker also said the wait etc to make a refugee claim would take long. Then i was given no kind of support for food or shelter etc upon my leaving boarder patrol even though i asked if there was anything to help me survive. I was told I could seek help from the Red Cross for emergency shelter. It was said there could be other help from the Red Cross but there was a lot of refugees presently. Latee I found the Red Cross number didn't work. I also didnt like i couldnt get my bags I'd checked while i waited because i didnt wish my thing unattended by me at the checked baggage and I was worried about my things. I am attached to things i use etc and become accustomed to and i have had my things taken repeatedly by the US government arms/proceedings. It's very bad. It's not how people are is to have not regard for their things. Man and his tools: a very kind of quintessential thing to his like experience n way etc, nature. They are very tied especially in a place where the individual has not the support of a broader environment, which in the present reality of the world in my experience is actually taken over by something other than myself. A person's broader environment etc should be his own making and not something else's making (such as the devil's making). A so very bad order and way of things. And it should discontinue. I wish some awareness to these issues and I wish some address. Very upsetting. Very bad, how things have gone. Quite a bit of snow outside presently which is unfortunate. But I am of some awareness this place, Canada, is not to be horrible and it is supposed to ultimately be a home for me and a place that is okay for me, not with the order with poverty and detaining of people etc however, which is not my choosing. The land and place wishes to be a place I can stay. The cold and snow doesn't wish to be bad for me either. It told me in my mind. Sincerely, Marla Luster 9. [email protected] 10. SCARS|RSN™ Scam News: Nigerian Actress Arrested In Canada For Impersonating 20 Women In Local & Online Scams
Nigerian Actress, Deborah Oguntoyinbo Arrested For Stealing 20 Women’s Identities To Commit Fraud In Canada
Deborah Oguntoyinbo is facing more than 50 fraud-related charges in Toronto and the surrounding regions. Police say she is a ‘professional’ and ‘prolific’ identity thief.
A CBC News investigation has revealed that Nollywood actress Deborah Oguntoyinbo has allegedly stolen the identities of 20 women which she used to commit a large scale fraud.
The actress who is considered as a “professional fraudster”  is now facing more than 50 fraud-related charges in Toronto as well as nearby York, Peel, and Halton regions, after her arrest.
Police say she is one of the most prolific identity thieves they’ve recently encountered.
They say 26-year-old Deborah Oguntoyinbo, of Toronto, has left a trail of shattered lives and destroyed credit profiles.
Before she was eventually arrested, she tried fleeing a luxury condominium complex in Markham (north of Toronto) and tried renting with money she made through fraudulent means.
Oguntoyinbo reportedly tried renting the condo with the name Natalia Bozic. The real Natalia Bozic who is a self-employed esthetician from Mississauga confirmed that someone destroyed her life by using her personal information to get into her bank account, apply for loans and credit cards, change all her passwords. She also disclosed that $4,000 was stolen from her account.
She said, “It was June 10, and it told me to call the phone number listed. So I called them, and they told me to come to the bank.
“They investigated and put my account on freeze. They told me nobody can put money in and nobody can take money out.
“Someone reset passwords, reset security questions, reset my phone to a new phone number, created a new email address so I don’t get notified my password changed.”
Police services across the Toronto area are still piecing together the extent of Oguntoyinbo’s crimes.
“She definitely would be considered a professional fraudster, knows what she’s doing and [is] quite prolific,” York Regional Police Sgt. Andy Pattenden told CBC News. “She’s really been all over the [Greater Toronto Area].”
It was further gathered that the police in at least four Toronto-area jurisdictions have filed identity theft-related charges against Oguntoyinbo. Court records revealed that Oguntoyinbo is accused of stealing the identities of two people in Peel.
The Halton Police have also accused her of stealing the identities of 11 people, while York Police alleged she stole four identities.
The actress is currently behind bars as the latest round of charges works their way through court systems in the four jurisdictions. Forged drivers’ licenses, social insurance numbers, and passports in the names of other people were seized from the actress who also used stolen cheques to buy a Mercedes Benz and a BMW.

MONEY WITHDRAWN, PASSWORDS RESET
Oguntoyinbo’s latest arrest came on June 29, when police allege she tried to flee a luxury condominium complex in Markham, north of Toronto, after being suspected of fraud.
York Region Police allege Oguntoyinbo tried to rent the condo using the name Natalia Bozic, and have charged her with using a forged certified cheque and a false identity.
Bozic, 24, a self-employed esthetician from Mississauga, Ont., says that “someone used her personal information to get into her bank account, apply for loans and credit cards, change all her passwords and wreak havoc on her life.”
She says “she first noticed something was amiss when she couldn’t log in to her RBC online banking account this past summer.”
“It was June 10th, and it told me to call the phone number listed. So I called them, and they told me to come into the bank.”
The bank told her $1,200 was stolen from her account.
That was just the beginning.
“They investigated and they put my account on freeze,” she said, and assured her “nobody can put money in and nobody can take money out.”
Yet, two days later someone walked into an RBC branch on Don Mills Rd. in Toronto and passed a teller a fake driver’s licence with Bozic’s name and correct licence number.
Bozic said the RBC teller issued the person a new bank card linked to Bozic’s bank account.
Bozic believes the bank also provided the person her social insurance number.
That’s when the alleged crimes became more brazen and widespread.
Someone “reset passwords, reset security questions, reset my phone to a new phone number, created a new email address so I don’t get notified my banking password changed.”
Twice more, money was drained from Bozic’s account. Some were sent to a bank account in Vancouver. In all, about $4,000 went missing, according to bank records.
This Is What We Know About Deborah Oguntoyinbo
In 2017, Oguntoyinbo was charged with 19 fraud-related offenses. She was sentenced to jail twice, the harshest sentence being 90 days.
She is currently behind bars as the latest round of charges works their way through court systems in the four jurisdictions.
Her only online presence appears to be photos posted on the website starnow.ca, a site used by actors, models, and musicians looking for work.
According to federal bankruptcy records and provincial databases, Oguntoyinbo has no assets or liens registered in her name.
This has all the hallmarks of a professional Nigerian scammer who came to Canada.
CBC News has learned police have a list of aliases they believe Oguntoyinbo has used to allegedly commit crimes.
They include:
Debra Omolade Oguntoyinbo
Deborah Ololade Oguntoyinbo
Kayla Wright
Dzoya Trotman
Jessica Wright

FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?
It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.
Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:
Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance
U.S. State Police (if you live in the U.S.) – they will take the matter more seriously and provide you with more help than local police
Your National Police or FBI « www.IC3.gov »
The SCARS|CDN™ Cybercriminal Data Network – Worldwide Reporting Network « HERE » or on « www.Anyscam.com »
This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide.
