What Bears Repeating
I must reiterate again, when I post “sexypictures” I get a dozen or more likes vs when I post something meaningful to me (an original audio/visual art I created), I’m lucky if I get any likes at all. This is NO exaggeration.
And, the icing on the cake is: When the account is new, the “dozens” spoken of above are generally up in the 100s.
My conclusion? In the beginning of a new account (ie. FaceBook, or any social media probably) people tend to like you more. As time goes on perhaps someone liked your one shirtless pic because it was at the perfect angle or something, but then you post one they consider subpar (perhaps bad angle in their eyes?) and they don’t like that one. And then perhaps you post one where your hair-color is a different one than they’re used to, they don’t like it; you lose more likers. Then you post some of your art, and you lose even more likes.
Doesn’t just correlate with the amount of likes you have, it also correlates to how many friends you have on your list. The list too goes down.
Reiteration: Little to no one likes what I have to say through my art from the get-go, and those who do stick around are horny and like to see perfection: shirtless men with blue eyes; all photoshopped. They choose the false reality I present to them instead of stepping into the world I want them to via my art. Thus, making everything I do in the entertainment scene rather pointless. Perhaps these circumstances have altered my ambition immeasurably and that’s why I haven’t been able to get back into it? Who knows.
