It's what Elemental (2023) wishes it was! It's from 1981! It's made by the same studio that made hello kitty but it's got a body count! If you like the storytelling style of Greek myths and the art style of retro anime this is for you Also the whole movie is on YouTube

Decided to try my hand at those mermaid edits people are doing these days… with lesser known/popular characters. As you can see, they’re pretty clumsy but I’m still new at this.

I've recently been started to join in on some new fandoms but I just wanna point out a few similarities that I have been blatantly noticing a few similarities between these Two Movies.

"The Sea Prince and The Fire Child" (also known as "The Legend of Sirius") and "Tabaluga" (also known as "Ice Princess Lilly").

Why am I thinking that they are quite similar if you may ask despite many of their own differences to each of their own story? Well, here are some similarities that I wanted to point between these Two Movies.

Basically, Two Stories that share the Same "Star-Crossed" Lovers dynamic between Fire and H2O.

Which are based off of Actual Old Stories.

Male Protagonist is associated with a Certain Element who has a Loyal, Brave, and Fun Personality who has a Small Sidekick for a Friend.

Love Interest is also associated with Another Element (Has a Kind, Sweet, yet Gentle Personality).

Who's also got a Friend on the Same Elemental Race as Her.

Story also has some Backstory Lore that the Two Races were once One but for some reason that their love turned to hate against each other due to an Evil Being of Jealously.

Both Movies tend to develop a Romantic Story between Two Different Races of Elements between Fire and Hydrogen (Water/Ice).

Then at the End of their Story, both Lovers end up joining together beneath their own Lands where the Two Lands with their own Said Element become One again in Peace.

Now obviously, these Two Movies may strike a similar detail when it comes to Two Elements falling in love, but they're still not alike because the context of their own Storyline is completely different.

One that the ending in "The Sea Prince and The Fire Child" ends with Sirius and Malta dying together as they become the Stars while Tabaluga and Lilli in "Tabaluga" have their own Happy Ending where their Two Lands are in Terms together again (thus, no commits between suicide).

I'm not really too sure if "The Sea Prince and The Fire Child" was an inspiration to one of Peter Maffay's works in his "Tabaluga" series.

But I just couldn't help but notice some brief similarities between these Two Love stories that take up Two Different Elements between the Heat and the Cold into a Romeo and Juliet inspired story.

And also...

Both Movies also have a Wise Turtle Character.

Little Mermaid (2023)  reminded me a lot of Sea Prince and the Fire Child (1981). Both Romeo&Juliet love stories about a prince and princess from a land species and undersea species who fear/hate each other. The main character is a redhead from an undersea kingdom, who has a cowardly fish friend, and whose dad is the sea king. And there’s a villain who wants to take over the undersea kingdom.

"Behold! Were all our troubles caused by the love of these two? Or by the hatred and cruelty of others?...

If someone's love is true, that love cannot be a sin! In the beginning, men and women were as one. Perhaps you can create a new world, such as ours was long, long ago.

Now fly, my children! Fly up to your star, and live forever in happiness!"

Inspired by the ending of Sea Prince And The Fire Child.

I re-watched The Sea Prince and The Fire Child last night because I haven't seen in such a long time and I wanted to make my own attempted at drawing Anime Ocean Romeo and Fire Juliet.

Mischievous Malta

Original meme belongs to blaze-on-fire. As a historical retelling, "Pocahontas" is trash. As a fairy tale... eh, it's okay. I recast it with an elemental theme. The title is based on the English translation of Pocahontas which means "the mischievous one".  That was actually a nickname. Her real name was Makoata. Malta (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) as Matoaka. The brightest flame in the Fire Tribe. Marvelous, if not a little irresponsible. Sirius (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) Appointed successor to the Sea King. Obsidian (Steven Universe) as Grandmother Willow. She's a lava spirit. Hyperia (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) as Chief Powhaton. Queen of the Fire Tribe and ruler of the Ash Islands. Zuko (Avatar, season 1 version) as Kekata. He's Malta's protector. Piele (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) as Nakoma. She's the shaman-in-training, and Maltas' companion. Bibel (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) as Thomas. He's supposed to be Sirius' guardian. But he'd not very good at it. SpongeBob and Patrick (SpongeBob SquarePants series) as Ben and Lon. Loyal members of the Sea Tribes' Navy. The Flying Dutchman (SpongeBob version) as Governor Radcliff. Creepy, conniving sea spirit. Squidward (SpongeBob SquarePants series) as Wiggins. While everyone else is running around, he's writing up a detailed report to the Sea King. Horsea (Pokémon series) as Percy. She's female in this version and instead of saying her name, she makes cooing noises. Cyndaquil (Pokémon series) as Meeko. He's a male in this, and makes porcupine noises.   Torchick (Pokémon series) as Flit. I didn't realize until recently that there aren't any hummingbird Pokémon. And now that I know that, it really ticks me off! Anyway, she's female, and makes clucking sounds. The story is this... The sea is running out of salt, so King Oceanus sends out an expedition (lead by Sirius and the Dutchman) to find more on land. The first place they look is The Ash Islands, home of the Fire Tribe. There, Queen Hyperia is training her daughter Malta to take over from her. But Malta would rather sneak off with Cyndaquil to play in the meadows and watch Obsidian build new land out of lava. The expedition crew sets up camp in a small cove and start mining for salt. Rather than oversee the mining, Sirius sneaks off with Horsea to explore the terrain. While the Dutchman insists that Fire people are all savage pyromaniacs, Hyperia insists that Sea people are all greedy and cold-hearted. When Sirius and Malta meet for the first time, they're scared, and keep a distance. The second time, their pets play with each other. The third time, they talk to each other about their homes and develop mutual respect. The fourth time, they bring their friends to meet each other. All is going well until it's discovered that the constant salt mining is damaging the Islands' structure. Then, Zuko tracks Malta to the meeting place and attacks Sirius. Bibel and Horsea blast water at them, accidently killing Zuko. Sirius gets Bibel and Horsea to flee, while he stays to be arrested by the Fire Tribe. Hyperia is about to kill Sirius, but Malta stops her. Bibel leads the other Sea People to the site and they all beg Hyperia not to hurt their prince, apologizing for mining their island and promising to go somewhere else. All but the Dutchman, who threatens her with an ice sword. Sirius and Malta wrestle the sword away and subdue him. Hyperia forgives the Sea people and tells them where they can find more salt. Obsidian repairs the damage with magma (and locks the Dutchman in a black cage!) Sirius and Malta promise to become more responsible and one day reunite. A new age is dawning on the horizon.

First artwork of the year... it's a remake of a piece from 2022 (watch it under the cut)! You may recognize this sweet, teary, water fairy as Princess Malta from Sirius no Densetsu. I love her so!
