Artwork displayed from Studio Bones 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition. It’s so interesting to see 2003 Ed and Brotherhood Ed in the same official artwork.

This is perhaps showing my age
But I still don't understand why Scrapped Princess wasn't more popular
It was studio bones! It basically had all of the ingredients necessary to be a hit mid 2000s anime, but I feel like I'm the only one who has even heard of it.

I just finished the first nine episodes of Scrapped Princess and it's really good! It's basically everything I look for in a fantasy anime, and I wish I could find more shows like it. It's all about a girl who's supposed to bring about the end of the world, and her siblings attempt to keep her safe
It has solid storyteller fundamentals, knows how to foreshadow and set up character without beating you over the head with things, looks pretty, and cares more about telling its story than hitting the necessary tropes for a chosen otaku demographic.
I'm really curious to see how it keeps going now that I'm in the middle, and actually hopeful- so far everything has been keeping me on my toes and the plot is moving forward! Things happen! There are consequences to actions!

Some of Scrapped Princess's plot reminds me a lot of David Weber's Safehold series.
